I used to come here a lot when I lived in Greenpoint. Huge, fluffy bagels and a great selection of cream cheeses within walking distance from my apartment. I see people complaining about the staff, but I have never had an unpleasant experience here. They also deliver, which is a huge plus. A-okay in my book! read more

If I could select zero stars, I would. We ordered three bagels two hours ago and they still haven't arrived. Utter failure. When we called back to try and cancel our order after two hours they rudely said we had to do that online (which is not an option). Do not waste your money here. Your food will not arrive. read more

Consistently late delivery. I live in the neighborhood and they still manage to be a minimum of 20 minutes late. My order is 80% accurate and always cold. Not sure if the delivery guy is kicking the food down the street or if they just make it that way, but this is the last time I order from them. I try to order from this place for my office because I like the sandwiches, but today did it for me. Never again. I called at 11am to place an order for delivery. The person I talked to was extremely pushy and excited to get off the phone. As soon as he had my credit card number, he hung up on me. I had to call him back because he didn't even tell me when it was going to arrive. I asked him to have it delivered no earlier than 12pm. He said ok, then hung up on me again. Frustrated, I reminded myself how much I like their sandwiches and that everything would be fine for our business lunch. Everything was fine until the sandwiches arrived a half an hour early despite my very clear, specific instructions. Moral of the story - this place sucks. The bagels and the omelette sandwich bagels are amazing. Really, they're delicious. But I'm warning you not to go to this place after the manager leaves which is usually sometime between noon and 1pm. After he leaves for the day, the place turns into a nursery frat house fight club chuckie cheese playground beach ball grab ass riot mosh pit war zone disaster. The employees throw a giant mess of a party the rest of the day and the service suffers from it. Before 1pm everything is fine though. Also, this is important: DO NOT order from the short girl with dark hair. She's messed up our order (two bagel sandwiches, nothing special, no extras, exactly what's on the menu) the last 3 visits in a row. The first time this happened we didn't complain. Everyone makes mistakes. But, at our next visit we politely over articulated what we wanted, talked louder so she could hear better and used hand signals. We couldn't have made it more obvious and she still gave us the wrong bagels. She actually messed up our order twice on this last visit so another guy helped us and then he still gave us the wrong bagels. What is confusing about "2 whole wheat everything bagels"? Its on the menu. To sum it up, go here before noon. After the boss leaves, the employees are still nice, but, lets face it, if you put 50 kids with down syndrome in the same room, there is going to be a lot of hugging. Baker's Dozen is a great bagel shop. We frequent this place often and have our usual spreads and sandwiches that we order that are delicious: scallion cream chs, sun dried tomato cream chs, chicken salad with bacon and red onion on a toasted everything bagel, bacon egg and chs sandwiches, and tuna salad on a toasted bagel. The white fish salad is OK ( i love white fish salad usually), but at times it can get on the overly fishy and oily side. The prices are normal for bagels and such, and they also offer some staple menu items and baked goods. It's a bonus that they offer some flavored ice coffees, and it's also a bonus getting our usual table to sit at. There are about 5-6 tables in a small seating area in front. We always have a great experience eating in here, and we always enjoy our meals when taking them to go too. read more

I love it here. The workers are very friendly. And when I ask for extra cream cheese, I get it (I attached a photo). They're not skimpy at all which I like a lot. Their flavored cream cheeses are so amazing and original, I've never seen any other place do that. My favorite is the lox spread. And they're fairly cheap, I'd say $3.50 is appropriate for a bagel with lox spread but not really a good overall price. For instance, if you're getting a bagel with veggie spreading think $3.50 is a little much. Anyways, everyone's gotta make a living somehow, right? The only weird encounter I've had with them happened this morning where all of the employees were making very loud moaning and screaming sounds followed by loud laughter for the entire time I was there - not very professional, but I really can't take a star off for that considering how good their bagels are! Baker's dozen is one of my go to Seamless places. They consistently deliver me tasty, reasonably priced food and as long as it's not Saturday morning and you're hungover and dying you will be impressed at the speed of delivery. I order coffee from them every time and they have literally never spilled a single one. It's kind of amazing, actually. My only complaint is they stop delivery at 3:15. And whenever I order and eat a full lumberjack sandwich I want to die (IT'S A LOT OF MEAT PEOPLE). read more

If you get there around 750am grab a muffin. The muffins are hot and so amazing. The chocolate chip one is sweet. The inside was warm and the top was perfect. I saw they sell a jelly muffin. I came here to complain about my recent lunch experience.... and I noticed that I had already left a review complaining about it. Coooool, way to learn a lesson. I once again got a salad, but this time also a veg panini. Salad - same complaints as last time. Giant chunks of everything, totally devoid of taste or nutrients and yet $6.... I think they did incorporate the sundried tomato bits over the last year - that was a nice touch. The sandwich was way too soggy to be enjoyable, and another $7. I have no idea why anyone would write a bad review about this place. Since moving to greenpojnt three years ago this is my favorite thing about living in the neighborhood. As a native New Yorker I have to say these are the best bagels around. They are fluffy and amazing. I usually get a scooped out everything bagel with bacon egg cheese and sometimes I add avocado. Within a couple weeks of my last review, I tried to make a stop at Baker's Doz to pick up some essentials (Bagels spreads salads). It was just before the lock down started but it was known that it would happen within a day or so. Parking across the street I saw a couple of the guys doing a delivery with one giving him instructions, As I approached and grabbed for the door handle the one guy stops me telling me, like I'm an idiot for not knowing, Hey man we're closed. So, ok, I nicely asked to order just a few bagels and I'd wait outside, cause CLEARLY THEY WERE OPEN, and just doing deliveries. I was met with another staunch NO!! WE ARE CLOSED!!. You know at my age you learn that arguing is futile. And somehow I'd find another bagel shop in the neighborhood. Which in fact I did, Bagel Point. Where I am still now going for my Bagels. I can't see myself ever walking back into Baker's Doz after the lockdown ends.In fact they could be open right now but I wouldn't even know it, cause anyplace that treats a customer that way, doesn't deserve my business. read more

Do a taste & consistency comparison, the Everything bagel from Baker's Dozen makes The Bagel Store's bagel taste a little weak... true! I've never tried the sandwiches, soups or salads here & the non-bagel baked goods look cheap. I've lived in Greenpoint for many years and regularly get breakfast at bakers dozen. While the food is pretty good (particularly the bagels), the few times I've gotten delivery to my apartment my bagel was crushed and nearly inedible. And this has happened more than once. This is a seamless review. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel, a bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese, half gallon milk and half gallon of orange juice. I ordered at 10am. Received a notification that the order was out for delivery at 1040am. I waited for two hours before I called the restaurant and they didn't answer. I called seamless and they kindly cancelled my order. The funny thing is, is that the order was delivered 4 hours later at 2pm. Its easy to call/notify your customer that you cant complete an order in time. read more
