Duck egg bagels
Stephen L.

Really impressed by this place. The staff are patient and helpful in providing information about all the options. The duck egg bagels (in various flavors) were nice and fluffy. If you're lucky you might get them hot out of the oven.

Good stuff! I tried the St. Marks on fig and olive. Wowwww the wasabi cream cheese is amazing. Definitely try that. I also preordered the taro salted egg babka - tasty and fun take on babka. Taro topping was amazing. I want the wasabi cc on a miso everything bagel next time. 4.5 stars.

Have you ever tried Miso or Gochujang bagels? As a savory bagel fan, I gave Bagel Joint a 10/10! Founded by a Jewish and Taiwanese couple duo, Bagel Joint in Greenpoint offers some unique savory bagels with an Asian twist. It is worth the commute to get your hands on these very special bagels (and jewish pastries!). As a savory bagel person, this spot has my heart. I seriously considered moving to Greenpoint after trying their bagels. The shop is clean and bright. There are plenty of seatings and a bathroom. *The St. Marks with Miso Everything Bagel $17 WOW MIND-BLOWING!! The wasabi cream cheese was pungent and spicy. It complements with the smoked tuna and fresh cucumbers so well that it almost tasted like tuna sushi. Shout out to the miso everything bagel--I should've got a dozen home. I really loved this bagel sandwich, even though the sharp, fiery heat made me teary eyed. *The Newtown with Duck Egg Bagel $15 I could hardly tell what was special about the duck egg, but it definitely tasted something more than just a plain bagel. The smoked salmon and caper dill cream cheese were perfect together. Refreshing and classic combo. *Miso Scallion Bialy $3.50 Bialy is possibly my second favorite bread after bagel. I was excited to know they had some special bialys like garlic naan and miso scallion. The texture was spot-on, and the topping had an umami flavor.

The purple sweet potato knish was incredible. Highly recommend and it's the reason I'll be back. The miso everything bagel was solid, but it was my first time having nori on a bagel and I learned I don't love the combo. My friend liked it more than me so it is just a personal preference. I am excited to try other bagel flavors like the za'atar and saffron ones. They do have some tables inside and we were able to grab one. There's also a water station and bathroom so it can be a nice place to catch up and enjoy your food.

New York style everything Bagel with Plain Schmear

Finally stopped in after seeing them on instagram, and I was not disappointed. The New York everything bagel was so fresh and tasty. It might be the best bagel in Greenpoint, or at least belongs in the conversation for it. The space and people working were friendly and welcoming. Excited to try one of the sandwiches next time!

Staff were super rude, bagels were flavorless. There are so many better spots that aren't worth the trouble.

Ask the Community - Bagel Joint

Anyone have a picture of duck egg bagel? Curious to see how it looks and tastes?

I don't have a picture, but it's a little puffier/softer than their other bagels - similar to the average "egg bagel"

THE BEST SCALLION PANCAKES YOU'LL HAVE! Seriously so good I could eat 50 of them. Got the one with…read moreeggs and bacon inside (bec) and the sauce it came with was so good. On top of that the pastries were to die for. Would love to come back here for the burgers that they have after 3pm. It gets busy in the mornings especially on the weekends but we weren't waiting toooo long for the food. Friendly service!

A Taiwanese fusion bakery with an eponymous restaurant across the street, Win Son's staff aren't…read moreTaiwanese but its founders are. It's got both sweet and savory foods, and is mostly known for its pastries. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and the food is brought to your table. We ordered the pork fan tuan (rice roll), soymilk + yao tiao (fried donut), scallion pancake, and snow pea leaves for our savory portion, and the mochi donut, banana tart, and chocolate bolo bao (pineapple bun) for dessert. The pancakes and mochi donut are must-gets, but my sleeper pick would be the simple yet refreshing snow pea shoots. Having just returned from Taiwan myself, I thought the soymilk tasted fresh and authentic, but the fan tuan was so-so (too dense and missing the pickles). I'd also pass on the chocolate bun, although if you like pain au chocolat, it tastes similar. I definitely need to come back for their red date cakes and peanut butter croissant (sold out when we arrived but they're regular menu items). Thankfully, there's a Win Son location in Manhattan as well so I won't need to travel to Brooklyn every time. Still, I'd make the trek out here again!
