We stopped by the Bagel Joint on a weekend morning and there were a few people in line, but it wasn't crowded. There is a menu board with all the bagel sandwiches and specials available to view while you wait in line. A few tables are available to dine in. We ordered the egg and cheese on a miso bagel, the Newtown sandwich as well as the special rugelah filled with red bean. They were ready after about 10 minutes. The bagels were so fluffy and light! They also weren't gigantic like some other NY bagels. You can tell the bagels were freshly made. The Newtown was a duck egg bagel with smoked salmon, caper dill cream cheese, cucumbers and chives. The ingredients tasted so fresh! Such a unique take on the classic smoked salmon sandwich. The tutelary was flaky and had a generous red bean filling. This Greenpoint bagel place is a gem. The owners are a Jewish-Taiwanese husband and wife team creating fantastic bagels, sandwiches and spreads. I have tried the Fig & Olive; Duck Egg Sesame, Miso Nori & Salt, Miso Japanese everything, Gochujang Sesame, Gochujang Everything and their Bialys. Wasabi cream cheese is amazing. The smoked fish on the sandwiches is top notch. Nicest people and I always find a parking spot nearby. I make it a point to stop in every time I am in Brooklyn. They even have Challah which I tried. Super cute spot for asian-inspired jewish bagel sandwiches and pastries! Known for their gochujang and miso blended bagels. A perfect amount of seating and a clean area with a bathroom and samples of their bagels! Staff was also super welcoming and friendly. Tried the St Marks - miso sesame bagel with wasabi cc and smoked tuna. Soo good! I can't really taste the miso or gochujang but my friend definitely picked up the subtleties. I spontaneously got bagels around 11am on a Saturday. Many of the flavors were already gone by then. I definitely appreciate the innovativeness of the flavors, though I wish duck egg and miso flavors had been a little more potent. There was a green curry one in the works that was not quite ready for purchase when I was there. It was very easy and quick to pick-up bagels. Bagel Joint is currently the reigning best bagel spot in town ever since my og fave closed (rip absolute ). Luckily for my fiancé and me, this shop in Greenpoint is much closer to us than Morningside Heights was so we're here at least every other week (and often more). Everything I've had so far has been great. Miso with Japanese Everything is my go to standard but the weekly specials are where Bagel Joint really shines. The specials are always creative and flavor packed, especially the cream cheese specials. My favorites so far have been the ramp cream cheese (got it every visit when it was in season) and the Thai green curry bagel with the nuoc cham cream cheese - please add this one permanently! I still think about the nuoc cham every time and can't bear to wait a year in between The Bagel Joint churns out bagels that are exemplars of the New York bagel - thin, crackly crust with a chewy but tender interior. They don't offer toasting and honestly, they're right to do so. The bagels are always fresh, so toasting would make them overdone. They bake in batches throughout the day, so the bagels you get are never stale or old. The only problem is sometimes they can run out in between batches. Service can be a little slow sometimes and the menu can be a bit confusing for the uninitiated (fyi - there's one choice for the flavor of the bagel itself and then another choice for the toppings), but honestly it's all worth it for a true NYC bagel. read more

With all the bakeries and bagel shops Popping up around the city (who remember the no carb , no gluten idiotic craze .....) it's nice to see that someone approaches the trade a bit different than the rest. Their bagels are different but VERY GOOD different . Got to try the piri piri bagel it's that good , rightly spiced and not that crunchy. They got few bagel preparation processes and all bring the bagels to be real good . Their single portion babka - excellent ! Their challah is at par with the rest - fantastic! It complements with the smoked tuna and fresh cucumbers so well that it almost tasted like tuna sushi. Shout out to the miso everything bagel--I should've got a dozen home. I really loved this bagel sandwich, even though the sharp, fiery heat made me teary eyed. ＊The Newtown with Duck Egg Bagel $15 I could hardly tell what was special about the duck egg, but it definitely tasted something more than just a plain bagel. The bagels are good, and the flavors are unique, but they're very pricey. I tried a Japanese everything bagel with scallion pancake cream cheese, and The Mcgolrick (fig & olive bagel, tomato red onion, capers, dill, scallion pancake cream cheese). They don't toast the bagels, but they were still pleasant and fresh. I preferred the simple bagel and cream cheese compared to the whole sandwich to let the uncommon bagel and spread flavors to shine. However, the plain bagel was $8 and the sandwich was double that. It's hard to justify the prices when most other shops have options for around half those prices. The novelty is cool, but it's hard to justify spending so much. read more

The purple sweet potato knish was incredible. Highly recommend and it's the reason I'll be back. The miso everything bagel was solid, but it was my first time having nori on a bagel and I learned I don't love the combo. My friend liked it more than me so it is just a personal preference. I am excited to try other bagel flavors like the za'atar and saffron ones. They do have some tables inside and we were able to grab one. There's also a water station and bathroom so it can be a nice place to catch up and enjoy your food. read more

Finally stopped in after seeing them on instagram, and I was not disappointed. The New York everything bagel was so fresh and tasty. It might be the best bagel in Greenpoint, or at least belongs in the conversation for it. The space and people working were friendly and welcoming. Best bagel in NYC--and I don't say that lightly. As a born-and-raised New Yorker, I've eaten my weight in bagels many times over. It is incredibly rare to find a place that masters the crunch-to-dough ratio this well. This joint actually nailed the "holy grail" of textures: a perfectly crispy exterior that maintains its integrity against a warm, pillowy interior. I got the duck egg bagel with dill & caper cream cheese and it was so good. The bagel is so fresh and has a great consistency to it. The menu is a little confusing and it was hard to understand how the seasonings paired with the bagels but we eventually got it. Such a terrific and unique spot, creating intriguing and different flavors while still staying true to bagel roots. The duck fat bagels are wonderfully fluffy and the everything created an exciting zing. Similarly, the scallion pancake cream cheese took a normal cream cheese flavor and turned it on its head to make it new and different. (Though as is the case with so many bagel places today, we could all benefit from returning to the old definition of schmear as no one needs quite that much on a bagel, no matter how good it tastes).
