Awesome spot with incredible sandwiches. Bagels are not too chewy, perfectly sized, and are a great base to any of the sandwiches. Cream cheese is super creamy and rich, I liked that it wasn't so tangy. There's probably nothing on this menu that isn't great!
Such a cute spot with amazing specialty bagels! Everything was incredibly fresh, especially the heirloom tomatoes, they were so sweet and delicious. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Loved everything about this place, such a lovely find !
Was visiting my cousin in Brooklyn and he recommended this place nearby for their bacon, egg, & cheese. They have very limited seating but my friend and I found bar seating right away on a Friday morning. The inside was clean and the staff were friendly! No public bathrooms though. To share, we got the bacon, egg, & cheese on challah ($12.00) and classic smoked salmon bagel sandwich on an everything bagel ($16.95). The BEC was warm and comforting and very cheesy. The smoked salmon sandwich was exactly what I was expecting and loved every bite. Definitely recommend this place!
I really enjoyed my bagel at Frankel's! I can't say I've ever had a pastrami, egg, and cheese before, but the pastrami was super soft and cravable. I also thought the eggs were cooked very nicely and were so fluffy. My only qualm was with the bagel, which I found to be harder and crunchier than a typical bagel I have in NYC. I wish it were a bit fluffier and thicker so that it didn't just taste like a super toasted piece of bread. That said, I still liked this as a sandwich and would get it again!
Wowowow I never knew this place existed but I much prefer this over Federoff's! I'm a big fan of NYC deli culture and this place is definitely the vibe I know and love. Friendly workers and amazing sandwiches, what's not to love? I didn't know how amazing they were until I ate them but the sandwiches are large sort of like Katz's deli but a fraction of the price. I ordered Anita's hot brisket sandwich and the Turkey Reuben! Wow this hot brisket sandwich + the Russian dressing is a match made in heaven I honestly didn't know how creamy and yummy everything could be and each bite I just wanted more. I absolutely would say ask for more Russian dressing and the challah on the outside is phenomenal. The turkey Reuben is a must with mustard, hot sauce and Russian dressing as well I absolutely killed this thing and I almost saw god. This sandwich is basically my new favorite sandwich and it's so simple and so real. The chocolate babka was ok it's not as good as breads bakery but who knows what is as good as breads bakery???? They really pushed the bar high for fellow choc babka. They only have two tables for eating so I would say snag it if you have a chance on a warm day you want to eat it as fresh as possible!
Pretty underwhelming food for the high price. We got two bagels (one veggie cream cheese and one with meat) and a coffee for $35. Neither of the sandwiches had any flavour, except maybe the strange vinegar taste on the cream cheese. Both bagels had a hint of coconut oil which was off-putting. The employees were very nice. Clean place. Outdoor seating was good on a warm day.
Frankel's had been on my to try list for a long time, and I finally checked it out this past weekend when I spent a day in Greenpoint. I got their Frankel's #1 Bagel (pastrami salmon, scallion cream cheese, and dill cucumber salad on a poppy bagel), which was great. The cucumber salad kept it a little light - a great combination with the pastrami lox, cream cheese, and bagel. Frankel's is really cute inside - just a few barstools in the store windows. I enjoyed eating my bagel and reading my book in the sunlight of their shop. And the service was great - friendly and fast. I'll be back, because I want to try all of their other bagels... Smoked salmon tartare? Heirloom tomato bagel? And I have to try their classic - pastrami, egg, and cheese, which looks incredible but I wasn't quite up to on my visit last weekend. So, yeah, I'll be back.
Can't speak on the service or overall vibe of the place as food was delivered to me by my friend. I went simple, pastrami sandwich, mustard on the side. Hands down THE BEST PASTRAMI I have had in a long time. So tender and perfect for my delicate stomach. NOT salty.. but full of flavor. Not dry... juicy! And the best part... not fatty!!! I picked this sandwich apart to actually get through eating half... and only one sliver of fat... amazing quality!!! The mustard was sooo good and the accompanying pickle just added to the excitement. How this place has been here so long and I haven't tried it is beyond me... but now they have a new customer! Up next I have to try the Lox.. but for now 5 stars on the pastrami!
Got the heirloom tomato sandwich on an everything bagel. The toppings were 5 stars but the bagel itself was 3 stars (maybe 4 to some but hey, this is NYC). Cute place, packed on a Saturday morning!
Came here today and it was very crowded inside, a bit chaotic, but luckily the line moved fast. I ordered the Anita's hot brisket sandwich. I was hoping that the griddled bread would be crispier, but unfortunately it was soggy even right when I got it. The meat itself was alright but could have been a bit more flavorful. The sandwich was a decent size, but not quite enough to fill me for lunch. Overall, it was definitely a bit pricey (about $26 including tax) and I probably wouldn't come back.
Frankel's came highly recommended from several people and I'm glad I got to try! They have an adorable storefront featuring lots of cute little products. I have been to try Frankel's for the past five years and I now finally got the chance! The deli is at the corner, and it has some indoor and outdoor seating. There are lots of branded decor inside, and overall has a welcoming atmosphere. When I walked in, the cashier greeted me and I placed my order. I got a Pastrami Ruben, sauce on the side, with lettuce, tomato, spinach, and onion. The food came relatively quick, and I sat down to enjoy my meal. The sandwich was incredible! It was so warm and balanced with all the vegetables. Every bite was delicious and the pastrami was not too salty. The staff overall were so nice, and I had a beautiful time. I will definitely come back again!
The heirloom bagel is hands down the most refreshing guilt-free bagel I've had in a really long time. Such fresh ingredients and both aesthetically tasting and beautiful to look at. I find a vegetarian sammy to be rather sacrilegious but this was a showstopper, and far exceeded any other pastrami or lox sandwiches I've tried in the past. A+

Minimal wait and so much more flavor than Katz. The sandwiches seem pricey at first but both of us had to finish ours in two separate meals. They're not exactly light snacks, so the value is definitely there. This will be my go to deli every time I'm back. read more

It's worth the price and definitely similar to other places like Katz. The pastrami was so juicy and soft and they do give you a great amount. The bread was the perfect texture and not stale, the mustard was nice and tangy. I ordered on UberEats just to try it out and I'm completely satisfied. I do wish they had a corned beef and pastrami combo but I didn't see it on their menu. That's usually what we order in other Delicatessen's. I didn't like the pickles, it must've not be ready to serve yet as it didn't have the sour taste of a pickle. It tastes like a semi fermented cucumber. Overall I'd definitely recommend coming here to avoid long lines at Katz. The pastrami is just as good. read more

I really enjoyed my bagel at Frankel's! I can't say I've ever had a pastrami, egg, and cheese before, but the pastrami was super soft and cravable. Relatively small establishment however staff is huge on courtesy. I tried their famous hot pastrami on rye with mustard and boy I was simply blown away. Each bite was super tender, juicy and so flavorful. I was also impressed the rye bread did not fall apart easily. Definitely a must visit and it's definitely a top five pastrami sandwich in NYC. read more
Came to grab a bagel sandwich for a quick brunch in Greenpoint and was excited to try the Frankel's #1 with pastrami salmon, dill cucumber salad and cream cheese. I opted for the tofu scallion cream cheese which is vegan for a lighter option. Loved everything about this sandwich, the everything bagel I got was well seasoned and nicely toasted. The pastrami lox is flavorful and there's a ton of cucumber salad to balance out the carbs. The tofu cream cheese in particular is such a nice substitute for a lighter bagel sandwich and it's surprisingly creamy as well! I also grabbed a slice of their chocolate babka for $4 which made for a nice sweet treat. They also sell full babka loads but the slice is more than enough to satisfy any chocolate craving. Pro tip: order online for a faster pick up. We ended up waiting 20 min on a busy weekend morning to get our sandwiches after ordering. read more
Nothing hits like a Brooklyn bagel. I've tried most of the bagel offerings in Boston and, as much as I love Boston in relation to NYC, there's just no comparison. The lox and cream cheese on an everything bagel at Frankel's was phenomenal. They have a bunch of other options, including whitefish and the breakfast/egg varieties, but I always go with the classic as a true measure of a bagel place. When we came on a weekend morning, there was zero wait (maybe everyone was huddled for shelter in the line for Radio Bakery). We got the classic, with lox, dill cream cheese, tomato. The dill cream cheese was incredible, no notes. Same thing with the bagel. Overall, an excellent bagel sandwich, the kind I think about wistfully when I'm in Boston. Seriously, this particular section of Greenpoint is hitting it out of the park with the sheer amount of amazing food choices. Split this with my husband when the only correct choice was to have gotten our own. We ate this standing up and got the dill cream cheese all over our hands and faces. It was great, 10/10, would do again. Just down the block, there's a cute little park by the water to eat your bagel in. read more

Who can resist a pastrami, egg, and cheese on a roll. Well, not I! And that is why I frequent Frankel's Deli when I want to indulge in a carby and meaty treat. Don't tell my cardiologist but this sandwich is well worth some arterial calcification. The pastrami is thick cut and super moist and tender. I did a mobile order and this beast of a breakfast sandwich was waiting for me at the counter with a smile. The individual that was serving the mobile order pick up like was super friendly and added that cherry on top that will make me continue supporting this local business forever. Beware, absolute bagel royalty resides here. I ordered the Frankel's on an everything bagel which featured scallion cream cheese, lox, and pickled cucumbers. And literally, I sat up straighter after the first bite. Like my posture knew I was in the presence of greatness. Everything was perfect: the bagel had that chewy/crisp balance, the lox was buttery and rich, and the pickled cukes gave it the perfect little zing. It was a full-blown bagel awakening. Also, hot tip-they sell day-old bagels at a major discount. So you can grab your glorious $15 masterpiece and snag a bag of backup bagels for later. read more
We went around closing so they didn't have their popular pastrami sandwich so we opted for their brisket instead. The brisket was on the drier side and was a bit salty. The pickles on the side were mildly pickled and were soft. It took a while for the sandwich to be ready even though we were the only customers at the time. oh my goodness this was delicious!! I walked in and although the AC was not that powerful and it was really hot outside, it was packed and busy! The service was amazing and they did a good job of getting everyone's order in quickly and getting peoples orders out fast. the frankels #1 was sooo good!! my friend got the pastrami egg and cheese and that was also so good. your typical jewish delicatessen but amazing!! will be back! read more
Super little Delicatessen in the middle of Greenpoint with very tasty Pastrami and great service. Actually stopped by on a whim, since another spot further north had a ridiculously long line out the door and we weren't willing to wait that long - whereas Frankel's was full, but we only had to wait 10 minutes for our food here. I'd been meaning to try another Delicatessen in NYC beyond Katz for some time, and Greenpoint always has excellent food. So this was an easy choice for lunch. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review, is the price - my pastrami sandwich cost $23. Pretty steep. But on the plus side, the food is delicious and the portions are quite good - so I guess you could look at it as actually buying two smaller sandwiches for $11.50 each. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and service is decently quick. And if you're patient, you can score a couple of seats by the window and people-watch while you enjoy your meal. It may not be as iconic as Katz, but it's an excellent place to stop for some good pastrami, in a fun neighborhood. Definitely recommend. read more

Guess I came at the right time because I was able to order as soon as I walked in. Inside gave a cool old school sandwich shop vibe. Absolutely delish! Great customer service from the young lady at the front as well as the gentleman who bagged up my food. They'll be seeing me again very soon! read more
I've been here quite a few times and I've never left feeling very impressed. There is definitely a type of cult following for Frankel's and I've tried to believe them so bad with no luck yet. I've mostly ordered their breakfast and specialty sandwiches. Most recently I got their BEC with scallion cream cheese on a plain bagel. They are generous with their fillings which is what got them to a 4 from a 3 for me. There's nothing BAD about this spot but nothing very special to me. Their scallion cream cheese just tastes like plain cream cheese. It's a bit bland. I've also ordered their $14 chicken salad in the past and it was the tiniest container I've ever seen and tasted extremely plain. Looking back at the times I've come is honestly making me want to give a 3 star, but I'll stay where I'm at for now. Service here is generally good, they have really kind employees. It's a bit of a frustrating experience ordering in person because it gets SO crowded, but ordering ahead online is always a good idea! read more

Ordered: Pastrami, Egg, & Cheese on Challah Roll (~$16) Cinnamon Babka Slice (~$4) Aya's take: I don't know if I just had high expectations coming here since I've been craving this exact sandwich for a while but I was slightly let down. The Pastrami, Egg, & Cheese on Challah Roll is actually smaller than it looks for the price point. The challah roll is super soft and fresh, there is American cheese oozing out of it, but the eggs definitely got lost in there because of the overpowering flavor of the cheese. I expected the pastrami to be tender, melt-in-your-mouth, and well-flavored. However, I think this was undercured or something because many bites were tough, chewy, and even grainy. It was an unusual texture and I hadn't experienced that before with good quality pastrami. If the pastrami was better, this could've been a killer breakfast sandwich! The Cinnamon Babka Slice was nice, lightly sweet, and soft. Maybe I'll give Frankel's another try but I'm not too eager about it. read more
Top tier open-faced bagels. Frankel's is now one of my top three favorite bagel spots in NYC. I wish I lived closer to Greenpoint, but I'm willing to make the trek for these bagels. ＊The Tartare w. Dill CC on Onion Bagel I don't normally splurge on a lox bagel, but this one is worth every penny of it. Salmon tartare on bagel is a game changer and I'm still dreaming about it. You can choose your own cream cheese for this bagel sandwich. I find dill cream cheese usually goes well with salmon and I highly recommend this combo. ＊Heirloom Tomato on Sesame Bagel Heirloom tomato really makes all the difference -- the sliced tomato is incredibly juicy and sweet. It comes with scallion cream cheese and herbs. Very fragrant and flavorful. ＊Anita's Hot Brisket on Griddled Challah My bf gave his highest praise on this lunch sandwich. They really don't skimp on the braised brisket -- the sandwich is so hefty and thick! Meat is juicy and you can drizzle hot sauce for an extra kick of heat. A solid spot for bagels around the corner of McCarren -- recommend snagging a bite and walking to the park to eat! The bagels here were great, a nice ratio of schmear to other ingredients. The capers were FRESH and smoked salmon was solid. The staff was really nice too! read more

Such a good bagel sandwich! The Nettie was everything I craved for a morning bite. I never had pickled beets in a lox bagel before. Now, I'll be craving them in my future bagel sandwiches. Service is quick. Bar tops are easy to enjoy your sandwich at if you don't have a big group. Highly recommend! read more
Talk about a bagel! These are huge! Does one person really finish one? My husband got the pastrami and loved it. Said he heard it was one of the best, so of course he had to try it. Unlike me; he finished the whole thing. I ordered the classic nova. I like a cold bagel sandwich in the morning, refreshing and doesn't make me feel so full and tired after. Tons of cream cheese which I like too! It's a cute little shop, but enough space for you to pick a spot and eat your bagel. Will definitely come again next time we're in town. read more

Definitely a must try in Greenpoint! Placed an order online via their website about 10 minutes before I arrived, waited a couple minutes for it all to be ready and left super happy with my experience! On a busy Sunday morning I was surprised at how quickly they were fulfilling orders. Brisket egg and cheese had an amazing cheese pull, hot gooey and delicious 9/10. The Turkey club was maybe the winner of the two, might have been the russian dressing which isn't the norm for a club sandwhich, but it was a perfect combo 10/10. Heard theirs usually long lines... so definitely recommend the ordering ahead! read more
