Went to Bajis for the first time the other day. It was very clean and well taken care of. Service was prompt and the server was very nice. The owner came by our table just to check on my group and make sure we were having a good experience. Once he found out I was in the military he gave our table a very genius discount. Great to find a breakfast place near my work, however Baji's lacks value. I ordered the french toast (slammer) for $14.95. Portions were great - four pieces of french toast, scrambled eggs and two pieces of sausage. $14.95 seemed pricey but I went for it. French toast was bland, but eggs and sausages were good. $3.35 for a cup of decaf? I can get a cheaper cup of coffee at Starbucks. Large orange juice was nearly $4.50. After tax and tip, I was out the door for just under $30.00 - FOR BREAKFAST. Sorry, I can get coffee, juice and a breakfast burrito the size of a small child for about $12.00. I wont be back, too pricey for breakfast. read more

Bajis is the kind of place you would drive past and not try cause it looks kinda ordinary from the outside, but it is actually a bit of a gem. Good food, great service, nice people. My husband orders one thing - the Loma- Verde omelette, as a scramble, every time we go (technically, he no longer has to order, it just arrives when they see him.) It is definitely worth a try if you are looking for a comfortable place with fresh food and a neighborhood atmosphere. Actually would say 3 and 1/2 stars... Food was very good, but this place seems to miss it on basic issues. I went there for breakfast with the wife and we decided on Baji's becuase they reportedly served Peet's coffee. Sadly it was the worst cup of coffee I've ever had. It was sour and way too watered down to be Peet's. Also the utensils were dirty. I might sound like i'm nit picking here but when a cafe goes out of their way to purport they have superior coffee, then serve that, what a dissapointment. It was so bad I couldnt even finish it. I hate spending $30 on a breakfast for two only to have to go home and make coffee in the french press afterwards. If they fixed up the basic issues they'd get my business much more often. read more

But the food just doesn't wow me and is on the more expensive side. We usually go there for breakfast and it's pretty standard. They do have a large menu though and the chicken sandwich is still good.. 6/2014 I can't believe I've been living around the corner for 3 years and have missed this place. It's my new fav in the neighborhood and I've been there 4 times in the last 3 weeks. Everything we've ordered was really good (turkey burger which usually scares me, salad was very fresh, chili cheese fries, hamburger, pesto chicken sandwich and huevos rancheros - all GREAT). And the staff is sooo friendly. I see many more meals at Baji's in my future. This is exactly what our weird little neighborhood area needs. Fresh and tasty! Went here last Sunday with the hubby and kiddo! The staff is really friendly. Service is quick and food is great. One thing to consider is the popularity of this establishment so there is usually a wait to get seated and eat. Our wait was about 20-30 mins but totally worth the wait. We will definitely be back! They care about two things here: the food and the service, and that's really all you need when you're hungry for some eggs and chorizo. Quite possibly the best breakfast places in the South Bay... that I have tried so far. My fav's: 1. Biscuits and gravy - sooo good! Suasage gravy and 'homebaked' like biscuits. Gravy is tasty and not too filling. I consider myself a "B & G" connoisseur and would have to rank these in my Top5 (not even close to Red Hut in South Lake Tahoe though). 2. Chilli cheese fries - dont need to say anything. Sooo much chilli, cheese, and fries. 3. Any of their omelettes - large size and packed with lots of stuff. Everything I have eaten there so far has been delicious. No regrets at all. The portions could be a little larger on some stuff (thats why they got a star snatched from them). The best part about this place is there is never anybody there! No lines, no wait. The service is excellent as well. Very friendly and hospitable. The staff was very friendly, not much to say there. The environment was clean, but the table next to me was particularly loud. It made the experience a bit less pleasant. I had Fried Chicken and Waffles with 2 sunny side up hash browns, with a side of hash browns. They were delicious. I first started removing the glob of butter. I personally don't like butter that much, especially in such a large quantity. The first food I gobbled up was the egg. I personally don't like sunny side up eggs, but I broke under pressure and accidentally ordered the sunny side eggs. They were still good nonetheless. The next victims of my rampage were the hashbrowns. They were disappointingly too small. The hashbrowns did a disappearing act in less than 3 bites. They were excellent hash browns. The top was crispy, and crunchy. The bottom was soft and creamy. I could taste hints of oil, oozing throughout each strand of potato. The next pieces to go were the fried chicken pieces. These were the least satisfying in my opinion. The drumsticks were too salty, and they were basically all skin. Last to go were the thighs, they were mostly all meat. Had breakfast here on a Wednesday morning at Bajis around 10am with my wife. There was no wait and we were seated promptly; excellent service from Omar. The food was on par with what you would expect from a diner/breakfast spot. The country fried steak was very good, eggs were good, and the red potatoes were hands down EXCELLENT!. Hash is slightly better than average, scrambled eggs are dense but fluffy. Waffles were average, the batter might be a little too thick to get that fluffy crispy exterior, but very palatable with the butter and syrup. Coffee was good, parking was easy, family friendly and great for groups. Overall good enough of a breakfast spot, that I would come again. Wouldn't mind trying lunch. read more

If you are from Mountain View you must eat here at least once! I have lived here my whole life, and never heard of Baji's. A friend who has been coming here for a very long time brought me here one morning with her young son. This place is so cool, its as local as it gets. There's all kinds of memorabilia on the walls that you just don't see anymore. It's nice and cozy, feels like a small town diner. Great American style food, but way healthier. I had the Vegetarian Delight Omelet (I think that's what its called... although I am not a vegetarian by any means, just trying to eat healthier after years of fast food abuse), and it was to die for. This is a solid breakfast place in Mountain View. I am surprised there arent that many good joints in MV. I got there around 11 and had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table for 5. It wont be super packed like Bills Cafe. I was able to try some of the Funhouse Hangover Skillet and this was quite delicious. It was huge and heavy and packed with all these goodies. Paying for adding some avocado hit the spot. We replaced the red potatoes with the hash browns but dont make the mistake we did. We thought it was going to be a side but it was at the bottom of the skillet so it was soggy and not so hawt. I just wanted to eat some crispy hash so I was sorta sad about that. Also the eggs are on top of the skill and I again thought it was on the side. I also had the blueberry pancakes and they had a good amount of the blues. if you want a straight forward, no frills brunch, come here. the menu is huge and takes some time to look over. i went for the build-your-own omelette and added tofu, avocado, tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach. i like that their omelettes have 2 eggs rather than 3 or 4. egg dishes come w/ potatoes and toast. the hashbrowns were ok, not that exciting. their coffee drinks here are huge, so be prepared to be caffeinated. read more
