Came here on a weeknight evening and it was PACKED. Thankful the person I was meeting made a reservation, which is highly recommended! Their drinks are good but food, they hardly had anything for vegetarians. I ordered brussel sprouts and fried pickles as my dinner. Ambiance isn't bad and this would be a good pre-dinner drink spot but I def don't recommend this for vegetarians.

This is our spot for the best happy hour food menu. in mountain view. We tried so many new appetizers. The Brussels sprouts were so yummy. We also shared two burgers with fries and sweet potato fries. The tacos were also very good we preferred the shrimp over this fish. I like my tortilla cooked a lil more it was super cold and a bit under cooked for my personal preference. I shared we went there for a birthday dinner. Be prepared they don't care about birthdays here. So we haven't indulged in their desserts. Service was okay it was a full restaurant. We parked right outside free parking.

I love coming here as the ambiance is great, the prices are super reasonable, and food tastes great. I've tried both the Fresno Fig burger, as well as the fish tacos here. Definitely liked the tacos more, but the burger was also great. They have good choices for their kids menu as well. I loved the fact that one of the side options for their kids meal was mixed fruit. Strawberries and pineapple -- the kids loved it plus it was a healthier option over fries. Win-win. Oh and I also tried their dragonfruit cocktail and that was also SO good. Will defs be ordering that again.

June 19, 2026 fried chicken sandwich

We stopped in on June 19 for dinner. Thankfully, we had a reservation because I did not realize how impacted the business would be because of FIFA/World Cup soccer. We came in a little bit before our reservation and had a beverage at a tall top table by the bar, and I have to note it was the only tall top table that was available, and all the seating at the bar was taken once again busy because of soccer. My old-fashioned and the lavender lemonade were both very good! I have to compliment the female bartender because for 20+ minutes she was by herself and keeping up with all the drink orders. Once again, so glad we made a reservation because when we were seated, there were only two available tables. The fried dill pickles were perfectly prepared. The barbecued bacon burger was cooked as ordered. Unfortunately, the fried chicken sandwich arrived with the spicy aïoli, but with it being so crazy busy I can't really hold it against the waitress because a "food runner" brought it to our table. We both enjoyed the fries and I did get a fried chicken sandwich without the aïoli and a side of mayonnaise. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious and I really liked the coleslaw on top of it/inside it. The hostess, the bar staff, and the waitstaff were all very pleasant, and we really appreciated interacting with Jasmine! At least eight TVs And 40+ beers on tap, not to mention an extensive bourbon/whiskey list too.

I've been to Eureka! on Castro Street a few times now, and it has quickly become a go-to. It's always lively thanks to the heavy foot traffic in downtown Mountain View, making it a great spot to hang out, meet people, and people-watch. The bar area is particularly nice, long, with plenty of seating, and a wall of TVs if you're looking to catch a game. * The Food: The Burgers: On my first visit, I tried the Eureka American. It's a thick, juicy burger, and even though I'm usually picky about pickles on my burgers (despite being a fan of pickles generally), theirs provides a perfect balance. It's $18+, which is a bit pricey, especially since the fries portion is a little light, though they are very tasty. The Pro-Tip: I went back on a Wednesday and discovered Smash Burger Wednesday! They do $9 Double Smash Burgers and fries all day! In the Bay Area, finding a full dinner for under $10 is unheard of. The two smashed patties equal the size of a regular burger but at half the price - totally worth it. The Surprise: The absolute standout was the Carrot Cake. The bartender suggested it, and he wasn't lying. It's surprisingly good. As you can tell from my photo, I couldn't even wait to take a picture before diving in. It's officially the thing I look forward to most now. * The Drinks: They have a top-tier collection of whiskeys and a massive rotating beer menu (just look at the taps on the wall!). I had a very healthy portion of an Old Fashioned, but the highlight was the Laughing Monk Belgian. It's crisp, with a hint of citrus, perfectly refreshing as the weather starts to warm up. I liked it so much I had to have a couple. * The Bottom Line: Whether you're there for the craft beer or a solid burger, you can't go wrong. I'll definitely be back on Wednesdays for that $9 double smash, a cold Belgian, and another large slice of that Carrot Cake :)

    Side Ripped Fingerling Potatoes

I ordered the burger and the Side Ripped Fingerling Potatoes through DoorDash. The burger was fine, but the potatoes were incredibly disappointing. They looked nothing like the menu photo. Instead of crispy fingerling potatoes, it looked like someone scraped the burnt bits stuck to the bottom of the pan into the container. Almost everything was dark, overcooked, and tasted burnt. I couldn't eat them and ended up throwing them away. If this is how the potatoes are normally served, the menu photo is very misleading.

On a chilly Saturday afternoon I decided stop by Eureka for a beer and catch up with an old buddy. Fortunately, it was too crowded and we were able to get a table immediately. I was craving a beer that was more malty and "Obi" our server offered a sample of the Karl Strauss and Pizza (yup) Port. Both were decent and I went with the KS. Excellent. My buddy went with a grayhound and it was also excellent. A tip of the cap for then using pink grapefruit juice. Nice touch. Eureka is a good place to grab a drink (or bite) and have a good chat with friends. I will definitely be back. Now for the pic.

Eureka is a fun, lively spot with tons of outdoor seating spilling into the street since the main road is closed to cars. The inside is dimly lit and energetic. It can get a little noisy if you have trouble hearing, but the atmosphere is upbeat and social. We went on a Monday and it stayed pretty full most of the night. Service was very good. Our server checked in often, and the manager even stopped by the table to see how everything was going, which was appreciated. The cocktails are good, and the batch cocktails were a hit at our table. Food was solid across the board. The brussel sprouts were great. The ahi poke stack had very fresh tuna and came with good chips that made it easy to eat. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. The chicken was cooked really well and super juicy, just not quite as spicy as I expected. One thing to note is that many dishes come with some kind of aioli, so that is worth knowing ahead of time. I also liked that the menu lists calories, even for the drinks.

Orange chile glaze and Eureka! dry rub wings
    Amanda M.

My boyfriend and I were looking to watch some football with a beer and a few snacks, without going to a sports bar or a pub, so we ended up at the Eureka! bar. Overall this was OK, though I know we didn't order enough to fully review. We ordered two hazy IPAs, pretzel bites and split the wings between the orange chile glaze and Eureka! dry rub. The beers were refreshing, but the pretzel bites were sad--the bites themselves were barely bites and there weren't very many. The wings were pretty standard, and we both preferred the orange chile glaze. I liked that these were flavorful without being drenched with dressing. The service at the bar was fine. We were helped quickly by one person, which was good, but I felt like someone different was checking up on us every 5 minutes (a little overkill).

if you like overpriced burgers and fries, sure I guess this spot is for you Food is just okay and it's just a classic American style restaurant, nothing really standout here Vibes here are good and they got a bar, super loud when it's later at night so it's hard to talk

We were in town for a few days to celebrate my daughter's upcoming birthday and decided to try the Smash Burger special... Best decision ever! The hostess was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and our server was just as wonderful. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, the peach martini was a pleasant surprise, and the ambiance was lovely. Loved everything about this place!

    Truffle Cheese Fries
    Kristina K.

This was my first time at this location. I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and we were seated right away. I got a vodka soda splash of cranberry and it was made just like I like it. I had two of these and everytime I leave Eureka I don't feel too drunk which is good but I also don't order their wild child's anymore bc I feel like there's is minimal alcohol in there and more juice. I always love the brussel sprouts and truffle cheese fries! Can't go wrong w those appetizers! This was my first time getting the cheese burger and onion rings. The cheeseburger was good, but I do like the fig burger better. The onion rings were super crunchy and good. The campfire drink is fun, it comes with smoke when in a bottle when the waiter pours it for you and a toasted marshmallow. I do like the Santa Clara location a bit better for the vibes, I like the outside seating/bar there.

    Truffle Cheese Fries - 4/5

What on Earth happened to this place?! I've been here a few times before, just never got around to writing a review... I remember thoroughly enjoying my experience at Eureka when it first opened. I fell like Eureka has steadily had a downhill progression since then. The food took forever to come...simple order, just burger and fries; 20 minutes at least and it wasn't outstanding or great. I had to ask the bartender if the kitchen was backed up. His reply; "Oh yeah. They're backed up." Ummm....at least have the decency to tell me that...common courtesy I would have thought. It's what I would have done. Customer service is now an afterthought. #Burger ~ Double Smash - 2.5/5 This didn't look like a Double Smashburger, barely looked like a Smasedburger actually. Apparently Eureka is fully onboard the shrinkflation wagon. The sizes of the burgers have shrunk and the prices are up, the flavor seems to be missing as well not. The Fries were good. ~ Bone Marrow Burger - 2.5/5 I had this in the past. This time it looked like a former shadow of itself. My buddy was NOT a fan! Pre SHRINKFLATION items I was lucky enough to enjoy... ~ Osso Buco Riblets - 4/5 ~ Truffle Cheese Fries - 4/5 ~ Bone Marrow Burger - 4.5/5 ~ Bone Marrow Burger - 4/5 (2nd time around - Steadily declining quality) ~ Chicken Nachos - 3.5/5 ~ Blues Burger - 4/5 ~ Milk Stout - 3.5/5. A bit Sweet Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon or possibly ever...

The restaurant was very pretty, with a sleek and floral theme. Also, I noticed some herby smell which was pleasant so extra hats off to that detail. I placed a reservation of 5 at 7:45 pm on a Friday night with me and my family, and we had no issues getting to our table. We were a bit late, however staff made sure that we get seated in no time. Once we got sat down, we got our menus and took some time to decide what to order. Our amazing friend and waitress Elizabeth made sure to give us time to thoroughly look through the menu and decide on what we were going to eat. She was very friendly and caring, and was so excited to take our order, which elevated her experience. Her suggestions were perfect for our family. We ordered the Mixto Clásico ceviche, 2 orders of truffle mac and cheese, Arroz Con Mariscos, Pollo A La Brasa (Half chicken), Beef Anticuchero Roll, and Lengua a La Parilla. In five minutes, the staff already brought the ceviche, which included calamari, fish, veggies, and the taro chips. It was refreshing and citrusy. After we finished that , then another 3 minutes goes by, and everything arrived. I was so shocked on how fast they serve especially because of how busy they were. All the dishes were so fresh and cooked to perfection. The mac was so creamy, cheesy, and delectable especially because of the truffles. The pollo a la brasa was cooked nice and tender, served with fries, and that yellow sauce was addicting, literally ON CRACK. The lengua was great, the mashed potatoes along with the lengua, shrimp, and spicy sauce gave it texture and flavor. The nikkei beef antichchuero roll I was surprised with. Sushi in a Peruvian restaurant? However, I did not expect to be one of the best and interesting rolls I have tried ever. The arroz con mariscos was my favorite by far. It really reminds me of a Spanish paella, with a seafood galore presented with a bed of rice and veggies. It was very filling and delicious. Of course, we couldn't just end there, we obviously had to go for dessert. We chose the Tres Leches cake, and it was presented with chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauce which was sweet and smooth. Paired with the cake, it was so good and a genius combination. In the end, when leaving, our staff asked us if we needed any extra help with anything before we left, which was a very kind gesture. When we left, the staff kindly greeted us a warm goodbye, and thanked Elizabeth especially for helping us order these great assortments of dishes. In the end, we left with our stomachs full of food and great memories. I am already looking forward to my next visit here, and please, give this Peruvian spot a try, because you will never go back to any other ones besides this spot.

Everything we had was delicious and very balanced. Even with a super low spice tolerance, the heat in all the dishes was not just tolerable, but even delicious. I think the dish I'd most recommend is the pork shank. Everything about it was super surprising and incredibly delicious. It literally fell off the bone and had a ton of texture with a melty, tender inside and a sticky, crunchy exterior. I would eat just this for a whole meal! Yesterday we were celebrating my husband's birthday at Valley Goat, right from the get-go, the service seemed off. I called in the evening to check what time would last call be at. Our reservation was at 9:30pm and we wanted to make sure all our guests are able to order in time. The person on call first mentioned 9:30 which was odd because when I checked they were taking reservations for 9:45pm as well so I was like?? Anyway, hearing that I moved our reservation for 9pm since the whole party was coming to the restaurant after work on a weekday. We were running late and called the restaurant to inform them we were reaching by 9:15pm Exactly at 9:15 pm we get a rude call from the host asking us to confirm the EXACT time(to which we said we were right around the corner and would be there in 2min) and that the goat empanadas we specifically requested for may be gone in the next two minutes and that the restaurant shuts at 10pm and we would have to stop dining by then. Which was strange because what about the 9:45 pm reservations? You kick those people out in 15 min? Anyway there is NO acknowledgement of my husband's birthday the whole night, no free dessert not even a candle on the dessert. The server is in a hurry to take away our plates while we are working on them. The server was also not warm. By far, the WORST experience at this high end restaurant we have experienced. I'm not sure if the management and staff have changed but this is not how disappointing I expected my husband's birthday to be. If you do not want to serve customers late in the night maybe don't take reservations past 8:30pm? I understand staff wants to go home but it is their responsibility to take care of their customers and honor late reservations just the way they honor any other reservations. I highly doubt we will be coming back.

Our waiter was incredibly friendly and energetic, adding to the overall dining experience. The food was excellent, and we genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered. The standout dish was definitely the carbonara, it was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. We liked it so much that we ended up ordering a second round! Overall, this is a fantastic spot when you're craving Italian food. Great service, delicious dishes, and a fun atmosphere, would definitely come back again!

We were immediately welcomed with warm, crispy, delicious bread on the table as soon as our full party arrived. Spaghetti Carbonara - amazing! Creamy with plenty of protein and pasta itself was perfection Seafood Risotto - we didn't like this as much. The rice was a bit on the firmer side, but still really delicious! Calamari Fritti - it was okay. The batter was super crispy but a bit on the harder end which is different from the usual delicate batter I've had at other places We were too full from our meal for dessert, but the owner came over with some almond biscotti on the house which was super sweet of him! Definitely would come back to try their other offerings. Such a homey restaurant with cool vibes.

I've come multiple times, solo, and with friends, and I've never had a bad experience. The service has always been consistent in the way that this establishment always take care of their guests. Every guest around you is always having a good time. This is a key component that you want to experience in a restaurant setting. Masha took care of me today (and multiple other customers at the same time.) I observed and received nothing short of what is expected in a restaurant setting in Mountain View on Castro Street: Quality service, and great suggestions. I think guests sometimes overlook the novelty of being able to enjoy your time in the establishment you choose to dine at. Folks seem to be in such a rush these days. It's nice to slow down and enjoy the sunshine and hustle/bustle of the world around while enjoying a quality meal and some sunshine or indoors while letting the wind sweep your table top. P.s. if you ever have some issues with your experience--talk to the staff. Don't leave a low quality yelp review. It doesn't help anything besides, perhaps, one's self esteem.

Fun beer garden with a nice outdoor area, a popcorn machine, Happy Hours, and trivia on Wednesdays!…read moreI arrived with my gal pal during happy hour to snack on some bites and have a beer. It was a sunny day and the weather was beautiful (but slightly hot), luckily we got a table as there were reserved seats around us. For happy hour, we got their happy hour sampler which included, 2 spaetzle cheese balls, a pretzel with sweet mustard, pickled veggies, and a cheese sausage/brat wrapped in pastry dough. We also ordered some jager fries (fries with mushroom gravy/jager sauce, cheese, and green onions). The wrapped sausage was the standout! We also ordered two half liter beers - I love the selection of German beers and local beers. This being a biergarten, of course we went German. Overall, a beautiful way to spend an afternoon! I would definitely try non-happy hour menu items and try to make my way down their beer list.

There is plenty of parking nearby, both street and parking lots. Here's what our party of 3 had on a recent visit: Appetizer - duck potstickers with hoisin dipping sauce -- wonderful, I could have ordered 2 of these plates as an entree and been happy Mains - I had the pan-seared scallops with mashed peas, spinach, capers etc. Very good -- my only complaint is it only included 3 small scallops. For the price there should have been 4 or 5. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes, sautéed kale. This was delicious, we don't often order fried chicken but this was cooked just right. My sister had the goat cheese salad as her main, it was very good with little balls of fried goat cheese. Drinks: Good wine selection, I had my usual glass of Savee Sea Sauvignon Blanc. Dessert: We split an amazing dessert, the Sticky Toffee pudding Sundae which is caramel and vanilla gelato with a toffee sauce, whipped cream, pecans-- so good! next time I"m getting one for myself.

The establishment felt spacious, comfortable and well designed, service was attentive & caring. The food was exceptional tasty the double cheeseburger reminds me of Big Mac but better, the gochujang wings are unique and crispy, the only thing is the corn was lacking flavor but overall a good side dish. Highly recommend going for a quick bite, a date or a family dinner. Looking forward to going again.

Jossey bread and whipped butter - it was as if they took burnt bread and microwaved it in a hot towel. Not crispy, overly chewy/rubbery. Fried chicken sliders- great texture on the fried chicken, but the bun was so dry and crumbly. Poke tostados- best thing we ordered, but not enough fish and a lot more filler. Pork tacos - so dry, we couldn't eat it. Shrimp tacos - tiny powdery shrimp. The tortillas were super thick. Old Smokey - it said brown butter, but I couldn't get any hints of that. It tasted like it was premixed and poured over ice. Not made fresh. Kitchen needs to step up their game!
