We had Thai several times during our stay in Seattle and this was probably the 2nd best place we ate at. Very reasonably priced considering the portions, service was excellent, the interior of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, and you must try their homemade coconut ice cream for only 3.50, just do it; sooo delicious!! I went easy this time and opted for Pad Thai at Level 2 heat (You can go up to 5) and let me tell you.. it was spicy.. I'm glad I didn't go past that honestly. Pad See Iew with prawn is one of my favorite Thai dishes, and one which I use as a culinary yardstick to measure and compare restaurants. Bahn Thai definitely hit the mark with their version, and the other items we ordered were also delicious. We arrived without a dinner reservation around 5:30. No problem; we were seated in a mostly empty dining room. We ordered the fishcake appetizer and some beers. By the time our first ordered arrived, the place had filled up, and the service became a bit chaotic. So many of my friends work here and now I know why! Came here with a large group for my buddy's birthday. We all ordered something different off the menu and shared it family style. I ordered the Pad Won Sen at 3 stars spiciness. It wasn't the best meal on the table but it was still very good. Glass noodles aren't my preference, not the restaurant's fault. But let me tell you about the Penang Curry! One of my other buddies ordered it and I'm so glad he did. I can honestly say that it was my favorite order off the menu, among Pad Thai and other items. Wait staff did not tell us it would be that long. 40 minutes in they asked what one of the members of our group had ordered because they forgot. There is a fruit fly sitting on my phone as I type this. This place is gross. One of my least enjoyable experiences recent memory. Poor communication on the part of the wait staff and rather disappointing service overall. Politely ask for my order to be changed and 15 minutes later, a disgruntled cook literally drops a plate of barely cooked chicken noodles on our table. This place has a nice feel -- like sitting out on someone's back porch that has been decorated with little lights. (Meanwhile, I was sitting on the front porch, and there were no little lights, but sometimes... you just get a feeling.) As for the food, yum! I'm a broken record when it comes to Thai: panang curry with chicken, please. This panang ($14) with brown rice on the side ($2) was as good as almost anywhere else, even though they took the risk of making it sweeter than I'm accustomed to. It was smooth, creamy, spicy, a touch sweet -- very good. And, service was polite and attentive. I skipped my typical accompaniment of Thai iced tea, but I'll be they do those well, too. Our server was firstly, the warmest person ever. Being from Thailand herself, she was the best person you could have explain and serve authentic Thai food to you. Knowing that a crew from actual Thailand just reassured you that you will get authentic flavors, and they delivered! It was one of the best Thai places I've been to in the US. The food here is so good and I absolutely wish I could give them 5 stars, but the service is just sooooo unbelievably slow! Even on a weeknight when there are only a few other groups in the restaurant, you'll begin to question if they completely forgot your order. I've waited over 30 minutes for an appetizer here! And 20+ for just a drink! That's insane! I always want to come here for the fantastic food, but the length you have to wait for it is just so much! I just have to give a warning so you don't try to come here for a quick dinner. That being said, their food really is fantastic. It's why I keep coming back! I rotate between the pad Thai and the cashew chicken, and both are delicious. The pad Thai has a wonderful sweetness, and I'm able to get just the right amount of spice for me. They were very disappointing. I ordered take out under the impression that I could specify the time I'd be picking it up. I came when indicated and they didn't have the food ready at all; it took 30 minutes before it was ready. It wasn't even until 25 minutes in that they finally asked if I wanted water. When I got home a few minutes later, the prawn spring rolls were totally falling apart. I ordered fried rice (fried tofu), which was good, not great. I also ordered chicken pad thai, which was so spicy (ordered it medium spicy) that it was nearly inedible - and I love spicy food. Overall, it was alright, but the pick-up experience and condition of the "fresh" spring rolls was very disappointing. I won't be back. Customer service tip for Bahn Thai: 1. Watch your take out orders. People who order to pick-up want to get their food and go. 2. If someone has to wait, regardless how long, you give them water. 3. In town for business and staying near by at the Hampton Inn. This place is small neighborhood place and it was good choice, recommended by front desk at hotel. Nice little place. Good food. The tofu spring rolls could have used a couple more pieces of tofu, but good none the less with tasty peanut sauce. I had the green curry with mixed seafood. The shrimp, squid and fish were all tender and not over done. Server asked how spicy I wanted the curry, I said mild and it was perfect spice. Thai ice tea was refreshing and I had the black rice pudding. Rice pudding has a yummy coating of coconut milk that you mix in, just making it yummier. Pumpkin! That's all you need to hear. This place does a lot with pumpkin (Kobacha squash) - they may not advertise it but I had some fried pumpkin appetizer with dipping sauce and also a pumpkin curry in one meal! I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the foods, the delicate nature of the curry, and the welcoming taste of the curry. This place does not make it too spicy, but they can if you want. I went for it (medium-hot) and it was a well--balanced heat with the coconut milk and the vegetables to allow the variety of flavors to persist on my tongue. The fried appetizer was a bit oily, but well-cooked. Ambiance is comfortable and intimate. Service is response and I have nothing to complain about with their wait staff. This place has more than pumpkin and I look forward to visiting this gem of a thai restaurant again to try more items that do not contain pumpkin. Wooooow! By far the best yellow curry I've ever had. We went for a late lunch and got the yellow curry (spice level 2), spring rolls, Thai tea, and drunken noodles with beef(spice level 1). It's so delicious that we're going back for dinner again tonight after just having it for lunch earlier today. Thai tea was to die for so smooth and creamy. Drunken noodles were okay in my opinion but my bf loved them. I will try them spicier for dinner but I would highly recommend everyone to try this place. Bahn Thai is one of my favorite spots to grab food by Seattle Center! Food is great, you can taste the use of an actual wok being used with good stir fry technique. I usually get to go but I do enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant. Cozy, homey vibes while still feeling classy but not pretentious. Staff has always been super friendly and welcoming as well. During our trip to Seattle a couple weeks ago, my girlfriend and I were looking for a quick bite to eat before our date at Seattle Meowtropolitan. Since we only had about an hour, it seemed pretty lucky of us to have come across Bahn Thai Restaurant. We were staying at the Hampton Suites, a hotel a block away from the Seattle Space Center, and Banh Thai was literally down the street. Unfortunately, the best thing going for Bahn Thai Restaurant is the location, for the food was quite mediocre and the service was painstakingly slow. Starting with the menu, Bahn Thai didn't really serve anything that stood out to us. It was nice that they had the staples like Pad Kee Mao and Garlic Chicken, but doesn't every Thai restaurant have those? Menu selection was also pretty tiny too. And to beat the horse further, prices here were pretty steep; expect to pay at least $15 per person here. Since we weren't too hungry, my girlfriend and I split a Tom Yum Soup and their Pad See Ew (I know, so basic of us). Let me start with the Tom Yum Soup. I actually thought this wasn't too bad. They gave us an okay amount of shrimp, the portion size was decent, and the taste was definitely there. Kind of wished there were more ingredients inside the soup given the steep cost though. I'd give it a solid 7/10. Not gonna lie, I almost didn't get a chance to try the Pad See Ew. Because it took FOREVER TO COME OUT. There weren't even that many customers but we probably waited at least 25 minutes for this dish to arrive. Wait aside, I thought the Pad See Ew was just aight. The sauce was much to sweet to my liking, although it was nice that the noodles were burnt. But jeeze, I could've run outside to the QFC Market across the street, buy groceries, and make my OWN Pad See Ew faster than they did. Overall probably 6/10 for this. All in all, if you're looking for a bite nearby the Space Needle and want Thai, I guess go for Bahn Thai. But you better have some time to kill because it's going to take you a hella long time. This place is a really great spot to satisfy those random impulsive cravings for Thai food. There's both indoor and outdoor seating and overall the restaurant has a very nice appeal to it. The restaurant staff is very friendly and helpful; while they are readily available to help you, they are also not the type to interrupt you every minute of your meal. As for the food, my go-to at most Thai places is the pad see iew and this place really does it justice. I believe the spice levels here range from 1-5 (or 4, I'm not sure cause I never go that high). Each spiciness level here has a bit more kick to it than other Thai places I've been, but it's not enough to make it intolerable for those with low spice tolerance, like myself. The dish itself is cooked well and packs plenty of flavors. I particularly like that the portions are big enough to really fill me up, but not so much that I feel bloated. This is a restaurant I would take my friends to when they visit Seattle and want Thai food. read more

This was just an all around 5 star experience. The food is wonderful, especially the fried pumpkin. I have never had anything like it, it was AMAZING. It was so crispy and and the sauce with it was wonderful. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant so you don't have to stress about street parking, and you can just run in and grab it. The best part of my whole experience was the young man taking the take-out orders tho. He was just so nice and helpful, and he cut holes in the box holding my fried pumpkin so it stayed super crunchy and didn't get soggy, as well as gave me tips on how to eat it. He's the real MVP. This is a neighborhood place that's been around for a long time. The food is okay but the folks working are not always on the ball. Tonight's simple order of Phad Thai required a 50 minute wait for pickup and once I arrived it was only to find that someone hadn't been "supervising" my order. As a result it was still more than 10 minutes out. (Of course, they could have thrown it in a pan and it would be finished in less than 5). I was offered the opportunity to "come back" in 10. I passed. Sad to see a good place wind up there. If you're not Door Dashing or a Uber Eats-ing (or dining in) I guess there just aren't enough tips and fees to be of interest. read more

shamelessly got takeout from here twice this past week. first night was fantastic. Got pad Thai 1 Star (mild spice) and drunken noodles 3 stars (spicy). Out of 5 stars. last night ordered pad Thai again, crab rangoons and gyoza. The pad Thai was supposed to be 1 Star and it tasted as hot as the 3 Star drunken noodle my boyfriend got on thursday. I cannot handle spice at all and it was almost impossible to eat. The rangoons were okay, not filled much and definitely wouldn't order again. The gyoza were a bit better than the rangoons, but the dipping sauce was so salty it was inedible. Overall love the mains here. But if you're going to base your spice on a "stars" level as your standard, you have to make it standard. 1 and 3 stars shouldn't vary as much as my pad thai did. But I will say, the staff was SO incredibly friendly and the quality of the entrees is well worth it read more

Hands down the best Thai food I've found in the Seattle area! I discovered this place two weeks ago and have been here four times since, no shame. Everyone needs to try their the pumpkin curry. It's the best curry I've ever had, such a unique and flavorful dish. Also, the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) is outstanding, this is a dish I normally order when I get Thai food and its a 10/10 here.
