I just tried this location with my husband last night and it was outstanding. We are both big fans of Vietnamese food and it met all of our expectations and even exceeded them. I had the pho which was filling but not overwhelming (I got the regular size) and my husband got the special baguette combo which he said was incredible. This place will always be my go-to pho and banh mi spot. Visiting it again after so long felt amazing - and now they've renovated the place! It used to be a very hole-in-the-wall feel and you could see the broth cooking when you walked through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. now it looks as luxurious as it tastes. The broth for pho is so good you can't go wrong with any choice of meat. The serving is plentiful and it's amazing how the employees can carry such full, hot bowls of soup to you without spilling. I've also had the egg rolls which are decent. I haven't found any banh mi more flavorful than their BBQ Pork one here. Typing this review makes my taste buds wish I could re-live my lunch here this weekend. Prices are reasonable - such good value for what you pay for. And service is as much as you need. This is a unique experience... so I want to thank the owner of this place. I had purchased my delicious sandwiches and left. I realize I can't find my wallet the next day, and I went back to check if they might have found it. They didn't. I followed up and spoke with the owner as well. He collected some info about when and what I was wearing. A day later, The owner follows up with the video of me and sends it over for me to show that I had walked out with my wallet still in my possession... This was by far the most caring staff and folks that went above and beyond to care for me, my sanity and to give me some reassurance of eliminating one more place where it could be. Cute Cafe/bubble tea haven. I Was a little skeptical going in as it's not a well lit area. As soon as you walk in it's a brightly lite deli / cafe style set up. If you're getting bubble tea, go straight to the register. If you're eating, take a seat and order from the menu. The bubble tea is my favorite, you can get classic tea, milk shake, or smoothie. All options offer with or without bubbles. My favorite choices are mango and strawberry! Very tasty! This place has some amazing food! We've been coming here for a couple years now and the food quality has always remained consistent! They have a good selection of sandwiches to try which all taste delicious . If it's your first time coming I would recommend getting the BBQ Pork Sandwich or the lemongrass beef sandwich! Don't forget to make it a combo with fries and a drink, ooof! Their fries are so crispy, how do they do it?? Definitely give this place a try if you haven't already, you won't regret it! P. This place used to be my go-to for Vietnamese food. Every since they change ownership a few years ago, I don't really go here anymore unless I happen to be in the area and need a quick fix. We ordered a Ban Mi and it took a while for it to come out, ridiculously long. If you're taking out, I would recommend calling. It looks as though they prioritize calls over take outs that come in but I did see a few people who were angry because they called first. There are people who got here AFTER us and recieved their order before us and had what looks to be the same thing. Two of the people got their food and others didnt on a table and they turned to tell us that they couldnt believe how bad the service was. Please keep in mind that there's no where to actually wait, so imagine people standing in random places trying to dodge kitchen staff and people coming in. I waited almost an HOUR for our 2 sandwiches. Meanwhile, a guy was there waiting for his 2 and he was there before me!! The guy got his food the same time as me because my husband got really angry with the restaurant and tole them how much their customer service sucked. We were close to just asking a refund. WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!! Food: I was not impressed, Ive had better Vietnamese style beef and it was VERY OILY. The sandwich was bland. Mediocre food and awful service. I WON'T BE BACK. This hole in the wall Vietnamese joint never disappoints. It's a cheap, no frills environment with the grandma curating the food in the back type of place. I've been here several times, and not once has this place lost its luster. I invariably get the bbq bahn mi and the combo beef pho. The bbq bahn mi the pork is juicy and sweet, which is tempered by the savory sauce (not sure what it is) and a touch of jalapeños. Encased in a toasty, flaky roll, the end product gives rise to something special. The Pho is amazing, too. The flavorful thin pieces of meat buoyed by an immensely flavorful and rich broth. This is an old establishment that has been pumping out great pho and bahn mi sandwiches for a long time. The place is a little run down which is expected. The food is very very good. The best Vietnamese in New Jersey possibly. So the only down side with this place is the girl working the front as the cashier / order taker. She is just not a nice person and rarely ever smiles or wants to interact with customers when they need things or ask questions. I rarely ever leave these things in reviews , but she makes the review. Not sure why she did not want to give me a little extra butter for my sandwich on the side. She just kept telling me NO, which really makes no sense since it is a condiment for the sandwich. Definitely go for the food though! read more

Found a gem (that I didn't know about until now). Their pho is one of the best ones in this area. The noodles are cooked well and the broth is not too oily. Wish they gave more meat but this place is a bit cheaper compared to the other pho places in the area so all good. I use to go to pho main street all the time but the taste of the pho changed once it was under a new management. This place is already well-known for their bahn mi baguette sandwiches, which I'll try next time. read more

The first GREAT thing about this place is that it opens early. The bad thing is that some of the items (mostly drink items) arent available till after 12 noon. The guy at the counter was very friendly and greeted us with a smile. The phó that we ordered was priced like the rest and when it came out, it was sized like the rest. The flavor was there and all but i cant give this place that 1 star because i felt it lacked some of the basics, most importantly offering or serving their guests water. We had to ask for it. I know, OMG they had to ask for water, but its just one of those restaurants 101 kinda thing that makes such an impact....specially if youre thirsty. read more

5$ for a bahn mi the size of my arm...yes....yesssss. Rally friendly staff and place was tucked away and quiet but the food was great. They were out of the sandwich I wanted but the cashier suggested I get the lemon grass beef option, (besides the surprise pepper slice.. that I should have anticipated ) it was super fresh and crunchy and delicious. For $5 it's a great bang for your buck and really flavorful. Takeout was wrapped up soo nicely for my pho (beef combo) to go, with sauce on the side (hoisin?) without even asking for it. Loads of leaves and sprouts and a solid pile of noodles and beef. They pack it cold so it doesn't explode all over your car during transport, surprising but practical. Took less than 5 minutes to get my order. Will absolutely be returning to this spot. $14 for a giant bahn mi and perfectly packed pho wii the works to go, not bad read more

Despite my less than stellar experience 5 years ago, I gave them another try as I was craving Vietnamese sandwiches. The inside has been updated with nice tables. The outside is a mess. Death wish getting into, and especially out of, the parking lot right on a main road at a busy intersection. It was insane, but I digress. Nicer tables inside, but the ordering system is still confusing. I asked which sandwiches were vegetarian. The clerk pointed out the last two: BBQ tofu, and Tofu with mixed vegetables. I ordered and paid for one of each to go. He failed to note the egg sandwich I saw later, which I probably would have ordered, but oh, well, maybe next time (not). I asked about the bubble tea, if anything non-dairy was available. Nope, everything is made with fat free milk. Really? But nope. Okay. So I sat and waited. It seemed pretty chaotic, much like the previous time. I wondered how long I would be sitting there and was starting to question my judgment trying this place again. At one point I noticed a to go bag had appeared on the cheesy card table they have next to the front counter, but it was not given to anyone. A few minutes later the frazzled clerk came out of the kitchen and saw the bag and handed it to me. Okay... well I have my two sandwiches at least. Still warm. So I went home (eventually, through the nightmare traffic there, even at 3:30 pm... I had to go a different way and turn around in a church. Sigh. But I digress again.) So I get home and they're two MEAT sandwiches. For two vegetarians. Great. Totally wasted trip and money. There was NO WAY I was driving back there. Cut my losses... never even thinking about going back to this place again. Too bad our dog passed away last year... it would have been a treat for him (maybe... he had very good taste and would not eat just anything). Generous portions, friendly people behind the counter, fair prices. Overall I liked what they had to offer. The PHO was really amazing! I cheated on my "Pho" restaurant today and I tried this place. Ordered take out and it was ready when I arrived. Ordered their shrimp roll for an appy and their combo beef pho with meatballs added. OMG...... their spicy peanut sauce was amazing as was the soup!!! I was pleasantly surprised and I will absolutely order from them again!!! The beef broth was light and the condiments as fresh as fresh can be. I do consider myself a bit of a pho-snob. There are many pho places in Edison..... this is definitely a close 2nd for me. This place seems to be located in a strange spot where no one would think to stop by. If anything, I'd think students would stop by because Edison High School is right next door. The interior is a little questionable (strange choice of design and colors) although it seems relatively clean. The pho here is pretty good, there is a nice depth to the broth flavor after adding basil and lime. They give a decent portion for the price although I would recommend one of the smaller sizes because they generally give you around the same amount of rice noodles for each size. The fries that came with the banh mi combo seemed to be reheated and some fries were cold. I would recommend getting just the banh mi if you want to avoid microwaved fries. Overall, the food here is good and the smaller sized pho dishes and banh mis can be bargains. read more

What a delight to be at Baguette Delite. I simply just love this hole-in-wall. It is near the Edison high school, so there is a lot of traffic when school is out. The biggest downside for this shop is the parking......I hate it.....other than that cheap food that is good, what's not to like. The pho is plenty to have you full, but there is an extra large if need be. The broth is not bad for the price they are asking and there a fair amount of items in the soup. Also, their sandwiches are great if you can not sit and enjoy some pho. I only had the bbq, but with a $1 egg it is so delectable. I will definitely will be coming back for more. read more

A really average pho place in Edison, there are so many others around the area. The prices are decent, but the place feels dirty and unclean to eat at. First, the location of the restaurant is on an awkward part of the road, which can be tricky to get into depending on which way you come from. Parking can also be really bad if it is full during busy hours because its a very unofficial parking lot (pretty broken and no real spots). The format of the restaurant is that you go up and order at the register and you seat yourself. It can be pretty confusing if it is your first time. They do bring out the food to your table though. I have only gotten the pho here, and while the broth is decent, there's just something about it that doesn't seem authentic like a pho broth that has been made in 8 hours or more. My friends got the bahn mi sandwiches and said that they were not bad. Overall, I don't think I will be back when there are so many better options around Edison. read more

I ordered a pho dac biet, mango smoothie, and their egg rolls with nuoc mam for pick up today. They had it prepared by the time I arrived and the food was sooo good. The soup was very fragrant and I'm glad I got extra noodles because there was so much of everything. The egg rolls are crunchy and flavorful without being oily. OK I'd say up-front that I'm not a big fan of Vietnamese sandwiches. I got the historical blend of French baguette and the Vietnamese dish content, but I prefer to have the same ingredients in a bowl, mixed with sauce and all. Having said that, I think Baguette Delite served their sandwiches well and I ended up really enjoying my grilled chicken 'wich (and at $5 per roll, you already get a fulfiling and quite delicious Vietnamese meal). The pork chop with broken rice was also pretty flavorful, even though the meat was a bit tough at times. The standard fare vermicelli dish also turned out to be a surprisingly tasty wonder. Combine it with the pretty jelly Thai ice tea and Spiced ice tea boba drinks, it's a satisfying combo that was a Delite to have! Value-wise, I think their portion is generous compared to the prices. Definitely a place to visit again. One note is that the place is relatively small and we just got lucky to arrive ahead of a larger group, as there's not much sitting area at all. Parking is also a bit difficult, not to mention they're right at a T-intersection midway on the busy Old Post road in Edison. read more

This is a nostalgic place for me. I used to go here in my college years with friends. The food still takes just as amazing!

I have been a consistent customer since their opening many years ago. Their Vietnamese sandwich quality has declined while prices have risen since the Pandemic. For example, my family's favorite is the Lemongrass Beef. Before this year, the lemongrass beef was grilled with a drier texture and a slight smokey flavor. Now, it is very moist (most likely stir-fried or even steamed). Flavor is still good but the texture and taste is different. The amount of meat had decreased. The price of their pho had also risen substantially. Baguette Delite's prices are on par with those at Pho Lua but the quality of the food, the ambiance of the restaurant and the wait service is far inferior. Since there were no dedicated waiters, those at the counter taking the walk-in orders or those in the kitchen filled in but their service was lacking. The wait both for ordering and for getting the bill was long. The overall ambiance was like that of a cafeteria. Paying a tip was an affront to such an inferior experience. Baguette Delite should either reduce their prices and be a mom & pop sandwich & pho shop with self-service. Or, they should up their game and provide a proper dining experience with waiters to justify their higher prices. They are currently stuck in the middle and not meeting either segment very well. read more

This place serves the most authentic Vietnamese food around. Including fresh shrimp rolls, Pho and Bah Minh. I have been coming to this restaurant regularly for at least 10 years. My only issue is that the portions are the same, the food is the same but the price per dish has almost tripled. Sandwich lacked flavor. Pickles did not have radish only flavorless carrots. The thit nuong was more like Hong Kong style cha siu rather than real thit nuong. Only plus was that baguette was crispy. For 8 dollars definitely not worth it. I would say the bahn mi Che Cali BOGO (basically Vietnamese subway of little Saigon California) 5 dollars deal is better tasting. Disappointed. So I had a craving for bubble tea and decided to go with strawberry. I forgot to add tapioca bubbles and figured it would come with it, but the tea was really delicious and refreshing and had a nice strawberry flavor. I will be back and add the tapioca bubbles next time! read more

The food here is absolutely delicious and a is a good substitute for going in to NYC for a good bahn mi. The bowls are fantastic, the sandwiches are great. Love it. A $5 sandwich that isn't Subway! I'm a pork all day kind of guy. Now, with that being said the Lemongrass beef was amazing. I think I actually like it more then the bbq pork if not at least equal. I got both the beef and bbq pork to split with a buddy. The bbq sauce or whatever it is on the table is amazing and the sriracha is always at arms length. They aren't exactly trying to speed through things like at Tastee so it might take a minute to get your stuff, but I think it's worth it. It's when you get a simple sandwich like these that you are reminded how important the bread it. They make a handful of other things I'm yet to try and I can't wait. I will return. read more

The #5 lemongrass beef, their second-best seller, is my new favorite of this place. Sorry #10, you're still good, but better luck next time. The lemongrass flavor of the beef was just marinated so well. It gave a fresher feeling to the sandwich than the BBQ pork one (which is still delicious btw). I did also try the #4 Baguette Delite special. It's the more traditional Banh mi with Vietnamese cold cuts, head cheese, pate, etc. It was okay, but not too big of a fan. But if you're into that kind of stuff go for it! Nothing tastes bad here. Their sandwiches are quite large (about a foot long), but I still ate 1.5 of them. Apparently they spread butter on the bread before toasting it because I heard someone say hold the butter. (Don't know why anyone in their right mind would do that. Butter makes everything better). I highly recommend getting their Bánh da lon for dessert. It's this jelly-like pandan flavored cake made with tapioca and layers of mung bean. Probably super high in sugar, but I still couldn't stop myself from eating pretty much all of it. Had to share some with the parents since they wanted to try too. We didn't see the boss come in that day until we were about to leave, but they have two very nice Taiwanese workers who are fun to converse with. read more
