Packed and long lines... there are def some operational efficiencies they need to work on. Little seating and a lot of waiting. Fruit tea is better than their tea-tea. You can also order from the app. Inefficient pickup area - waited on the order for a few before just walking up and pointing out my order. Not to dissimilar to the parking situation -this plaza is often packed and you're waiting on parking. read more

We ordered from the app. The service as per usual and it always seems like whoever is at the front is always confused. Maybe they should have a better system in place. We placed our order in two separate transactions but showed her both on the phone. She gave us one of them and not the other even though it was explained we had two she told us to come back. A couple minutes later I came back to get the second one and I pointed to our order, she forgot who we were and made us show the transaction on the phone again. What we ordered this time: - Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea (tapioca paired with classic black tea latte) - Coconut Mango Blue (Blue spirulina, fresh mango, blended with smooth coconut milk, topped with sago and coconut milk jelly) - Pistachio Cloud Jasmine Coconut (100% natural coconut water, paired with green jasmine tea, topped with homemade pistachio cloud) All of our drinks were good this time. We've had some issues with quality in the past when they first opened (compared to the location we tried in the city) but now it is fine. I am always so hesitant to return though because there is always somehow a wait or an issue with getting our drinks timely/properly. read more

Hey Tea is super popular with a huge line out the door so I had to wait a bit. The drinks lean more Southeast Asian than I expected. I got the Mango Deluxe and my friend had a coconut mix. The coconut was way stronger than I thought and kinda took over the tea flavors. I loved how the store smells like straight-up jasmine tea so I had high hopes for the tea but honestly I couldn't really taste it. Still, the drinks were good. The place is clean and bright and even with that long line the staff kept hustling to get drinks out fast. Not my absolute fave but definitely worth a shot. read more

You can't beat hey tea in this area in terms of good quality, great flavor choices, and the best cloud (other known as cheese foam) around. I believe they were the original ones who did the cloud foam, and they do it best for sure. My go tos include matcha cloud, cloud crisp grape, and more recently, my newest fave is the cloud pistachio jasmine tea (a newly released flavor). Only con? It's always busy. Weekends forget about it, have to order ahead in the app and come pick it up like 20-30 minutes later. On two occasions, i've waited over an hour. Not to mention the parking situation by hmart complex. It's still WORTH IT! I've literally tried every place down the line off 27 and there are a LOT. This beats every single one of them. My favorite thing about this place? Walking in, you immediately smell the jasmine tea leaves. AHHH, I could bathe in that smell :) read more

Giving five stars for consistency and speed. All drinks I have ordered have been amazing and have left me wanting more. My favorite is the mango with the cheese cloud. It can get pretty chaotic and at times they will turn off their mobile ordering when things get too busy. The app lets you know how much time your drink will take which is very useful. The parking situation is a bit trickier - there are so many restaurants in this plaza that during dinnertime (especially on weekends) it is nearly impossible to score a spot unless you are extremely lucky. Also note they will not let you pick up unless you show them the app in case you are sending someone to pick it up. That being said, it is worth it every time. read more

Came on Valentines so I was expecting a wait. Mobile orders were disabled so you couldn't even order ahead to avoid the line. I ordered the green grape boom, so refreshing and not too sweet, even has real grape on the bottom. I love that they offer unique drink options and even offer to remake the drink for free if you're not satisfied. Drink was a 5/5 but the service is where it falls flat. If you download the app you get coupons for a BOGO 50% but because they weren't accepting mobile orders the coupons wouldn't work either. The cell service was so bad I couldn't even load my member code to get points. Not sure if it was the holiday but they really should let customers access their perks. I would return because the ingredients used were fresh and you can tell they do spend a lot of time crafting the drinks. read more

Food: Triple Supreme Matcha latte was really good. I usually get less sugar but this had none. You can tell matcha is high quality when it doesn't taste bitter and it has more of an earthy grassy taste (not the same as bitter). This had that earthy taste. Service: we ordered 3 drinks and it was quick even though it was packed. We came here on a Tuesday evening as well. Atmosphere: it gave me sojo or Korean spa vibes especially the music that played. The place was well kept clean and had a very homey vibe. I'm a New Yorker so I definitely would recommend this to anyone visiting in the area! read more

Heytea is a quality bubble tea place in the Hmart square of Edison. My go to is their grapefruit boom- very refreshing with real grapefruit chunks. Their packaging is top notch - cups are made of thicker plastic and they come with paper bags for easier transporting. Straws are made of solid recycled plastic. Hope they install a self service kiosk to shorten the line! read more

Can't believe how crazy busy this place gets! Came here twice, both times on a weekday and it's so many people waiting for their orders. Cannot imagine if it was a weekend.. So to order a drink(s), you need to download their app and order it there which is convenient since you can see and track your order. However, if you're not tech savvy or only have cash then it may be an issue. I believe there are people taking cash orders but it's just hectic inside with so many people waiting around. First time, I got the coconut mango bloom and it was amazing. Soooo good! Second visit, they were out of stock which was a bummer so I tried the grape version. It was not it for me. Hoping the next time I'm around the area, I can try the mango boom again read more

Always super busy, so make sure to order in advance on the app through your phone or be prepared for a wait in person. Not many spots to sit at other than the benches they have along the wall, so nice for a quick grab and go spot! Not the most ideal if you have a large group with you. Heytea is one of my favorite spots for a nice pick me up or drink, and the one that opened up in Edison is in a prime location! With Paris Baguette a feet away for a nice pastry, Hmart, and a bunch of different dining options! Staff was super friendly. Definitely check it out! read more

I was surprised that KFT was gone. And in its place, out came HeyTea. I did not think KFT would go considering how busy it was. Not complaining though. I did not and do not particularly go often though both stores always had a default drink I would order. For HeyTea, it is the Jasmine Milk Tea with Matcha Cloud or the Coconut Mango Blue. I do look forward to trying their Tiramisu Milk Tea sometime soon though. The service is pretty fast too considering how many orders they get. read more

The inviting scent of tea florals, such as jasmine, can create a wonderful ambiance. This place usually has a long line but not today so I decided to try it. I got the hot jasmine tea latte with less sugar. It has a fragrant and soothing flavor profile, combining the floral notes of jasmine tea with the creaminess of milk. It was great and I enjoyed it so much and will come back to try other flavors. read more

Its like a zoo there. I ordered the drink and they have number up in the board randomly announcing different numbers. After 20 minutes wait and finally getting and try to go up front, people have no clue are having around in the counter and being rude to other customers. Unlike I would go back there. The service also should be improved. I never had that bad of service try to get a drink. Maybe it was noon time on Saturday, but it was like zoo. Unlike I would go back, I also did not care for coconut blue drink I got, it tasted like some water down milk drink. They really need to do something with the order system and explaining how all things works from using the app to where people should go to get a drink and no one expect to wait 20 minutes to just get a drink. read more

If I still lived in NJ I would be here every weekend. Service is fast and efficient and the drinks are great. I will say the blue mango boom doesn't really seem any different than the regular mango boom other than color, maybe there's health benefits?? But idk if you should be considering that while drinking boba lol. We also did an online to go order through their app, which I have to say is one of the best UI I have see in a while. Their rewards system is also nice to have. The hot drink was presented very nicely with a tin lined cup to help keep it warm (although didn't help too too much). The wooden tea stirring straw was a very nice touch. We also spent sometime inside the cafe one night, it was very serene, clean, and plenty of space to hangout in the back. read more

Heytea has been expanding its operations in the NY/NJ area and this location opened in Summer 2025, adding to the already rich selection of businesses in the H-Mart anchored shopping center in Edison, NJ. Previously I had visited the location on Grand Street in Manhattan's Chinatown, and this one definitely gave me some flashbacks to that experience. Tucked away near the Hot Pot place to the side of this shopping center, Heytea renovated the space to fit their white/light wood aesthetic. When you walk into the shop the counter to order and pick up drinks is right there. Then the middle to rear is where the seating is (and I saw a sign for rest rooms at the rear). It is a very modern and welcoming looking space. However, what made it a bit hard to deal with was the *crowd*. Normally you should be able to order via Heytea's app and then just pick up your drink. However, on this particular day the store had turned this feature off. When I got to the shop I saw why. It was PACKED. It is important to note the place only has ONE cashier station because orders generally should be coming in via the app. Without that, a giant line that completely crowded the front area formed. It was kind of hard to tell where the back of the line was so I just inserted myself behind the person who appeared the be the last person. I think I waited a good ten to fifteen minutes before I ordered. As I waited, I was watching the staff *hustle*, so they likely turned off online ordering til they could catch up. Another person in front had told me there was one day when drinks were an *hour* behind (take that with a grain of salt but it would be an odd thing to fib about). Part of the problem is that a lot of people in front of me did not seem to understand the menu nor had they bothered to look at the menu in the app so they wound up asking the poor cashier at least 2-3 questions each, which delayed everybody. I highly recommend looking at the menu in the app and being ready to order when you get to the cashier to keep things moving quickly. I ordered the Grapefruit Boom which features Jasmine Tea and grapefruit pulp in a slush form. The drink is beautiful, with a layer of ice on top, then grapefruit pulp and finally golden tea. Mix it up and take a sip with everything combined and it was *delicious*. The tea was wonderfully floral and lightly sweet while the grapefruit added a bright contrast to the tea. I'd drink this again any time! The wait was a bit much, but I can't argue with the quality of Heytea's drinks. read more

Heytea just opened up in the Hmart plaza, so I was very excited to try it! There was surprisingly a line out the door when I went and I'll admit the line doesn't move fast. There are paper menus once you get closer to the front to look through and there are so many options! I got the Green Grape Boom with light ice and minimal sugar. There is a couple tables and seats near the back of the cafe if you want to sit, but most people took their drinks to-go. Your order number will be yelled out in both english and mandarin and you can even watch them make your drink! The Green Grape Boom was alright, the flavor tasted like artificial grape and was quite faint (probably due to the minimal sugar), but it did have chunks of grape and a fun green color. From when I got in line to when my drink was ready, I waited a total of 30 minutes. I would be willing to come back, but I would order a different drink! read more

Hey Tea is alright--some drinks are really delicious but most are just ok. I personally recommend the cloud grape boom and mango. The milk tea drinks and matcha are just okay in my opinion and don't really justify the $8 price tag. Some of the limited drinks are good, but it's hit or miss. The place also gets very crowded and overwhelming with long wait times. I only come here when I'm craving the drinks I specifically really enjoy, as I'm not a huge fan of the menu as a whole. read more

One of my favorite bubble tea chains opened up on Jersey :) Pretty reliable drinks, but crazy lines out the door. App is not that reliable and you have to order in person most of the times. Wait can be around 25min to an hour. A couple of seats inside, with a nice open layout. The better HeyTeas I've been to have still been in NYC, but if you live in Jersey you won't have to travel very far to get their signature fruit drinks! read more

Ms. Bobalicious have not been drinking boba drinks as of late because it's been the same o same o. Eventually one gets sick of drinking the same thing a thousand times. So when a new one opens up in my area, I am beyond excited. I ordered the Red Blossom Milk Tea with no sugar. Upon first sip, my eyes widened with delight and I remembered why I love bubble teas. The Red Blossom is a type of black tea. The tea flavor came through beautifully and omg, I tasted hints of hazelnut and chocolate. Lol. YUMMM!!! It will be very hard for me to order something else since this was a solid 10/10 for me. Gotta ask for light ice next time. I am a fan & I highly recommend!! Please be patient as the volume of customers are non-stop. Super friendly helpful staff. If you are dissatisfied with your drink, just let them know and they will remake for you. This location used to be Kung Fu Tea. It was all the rage when it was the first boba shop in my area. Milk teas have come a long way. read more

I've tried HeyTea before in NYC and so happy a location opened up in New Jersey. This location is in the Hmart plaza in Edison and was formerly Kung Fu Tea. I've heard the wait times can be long, so stopped by when they opened on a Saturday morning. I waited about 20 min for my two drinks and I enjoyed both very much. The fruit tea here is so good and usually I don't like fruit tea. So refreshing and not too sweet! read more

I've been to many Heytea locations before including the ones in Asia and manhattan. This was by far the most disorganized location I've seen and it may be the fact it's new and they are still training/working out the logistics. I went in on a Tuesday afternoon and there was no line at all. 1 person was ordering ahead of me so I was hoping I could get in and out quickly but I was wrong. After that person finished ordering, instead of letting me place my order first (there was no one else behind me), she went head to help another person pack up drinks and then took her time to fold up the cup holders (which was not needed at that time). I was just standing there watching her fold them up for a good 5mins. She then spent an additional 2-3mins trying to figure out which drink a customer had because they wanted to make a change to her order. During those 7-8mins, a bunch of online orders came through which further delayed my place in their assembly line. I finally was able to order and was told they ran out of yumberry, which was the main reason I went there and it was disappointing. I then opted for the crisp grape boom, which is my normal go to if yumberry is not in season. The drink itself was great just like any other Heytea locations as it was refreshing and the grapes were fresh and sweet (I've had ones before where the grapes were so sour I just ended up throwing the whole cup away). Overall, if you're looking to go check it out, I would not go at this time and especially not on weekends as their drinks are not amazing enough to worth the wait for over an hour. I would probably wait until they have fully trained their staff and worked out their logistics first because they are not very efficient at the moment. Going in on a Tuesday with no one waiting in line still took me 30mins from walking in to getting my drink and they already have 5 people working during that time. read more

Been waiting forever and so happy that this place finally opened! Admittedly the wait times are crazy but they do have sporadic online ordering periods. The tea is made super fresh and with great ingredients so it seems worth it to me. All the drinks I've tried have been good. Honestly placing an order then stopping by Hmart or something to kill time is perfect. I went during the first few days they were open (was able to obtain a free magnet but i didn't find it aesthetically cute) the drinks were okay but it wasn't worth the 50 minute wait I order mango grapefruit boom with minimal sugar and it was good because of the sugar level and texture of the drink I also ordered the jasmine leaf tea but the tea tasted more water than tea leaf Went again second time: ordered pickup and it was faster this time i only got the jasmine leaf tea which became my favorite one because it wasn't too sweet and the cheese foam topped it off nicely i got MINIMAL sugar Third time: ordered mango grapefruit boom and also the mango coconut boom and the jasmine leaf tea (again!!) but this time i ordered less sugar instead of minimal sugar but it tasted bitter which was pretty disappointing Overall: service is good but I wouldn't want to wait that long for a drink (that's why I preorder before I go) Ambiance: aesthetically good looking but all the times that I've went to visit the floor was dirty and there was liquid on tables which ruined the atmosphere read more

So excited that HeyTea finally opened in Edison! The space is sleek and modern, with plenty of seating, though it does get packed fast. We came on a weekend and ended up waiting over 30 minutes for our order, which seems to be the norm right now. Hopefully the wait times improve as they settle in. Despite the crowd, the drinks were worth trying. We got the Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo Milk Tea and the Green Grape Boom. When my daughter told me she loved Hey Tea when she tried it London, I was hesitant. Good bubble tea in London? Ha! Fast forward to today, and we're standing in a Hey Tea in Edison, where bubble tea shops are more competitive than ever. This place is fairly new, having opened just a few weeks now. There are throngs of customers with a line out the door on a Sunday night at 8pm. When I ordered, they were out of almost everything! No mango, no guava, no sago, no coconut jelly! I placed my order and my digital receipt says there are 50 orders ahead of me! Altogether, it took about an hour for my drinks. There are so many new and different varieties of options here- not just your standard bubble tea options. I ordered a jasmine latte, with boba but no sugar. The jasmine tea is strong and fragrant! It's so strong you can even taste the bitterness of the tea. The boba is soft and chewy with great texture. Whereas the Kung Fu tea had a sweaty sewer smell, Hey Tea in its replacement spot, smells like strong tea. It's the real deal. They use real tea leaves. You can smell it and you can see it. Part of their decor is clear container boxes of different types of tea leaves displayed all along the counters.. You can monitor the progress of your order on their app, along with how many more orders are ahead of you. Their materials say they use all natural ingredients, no artificial creamers, no instant tea or tea bags. With all the bubble tea my family drinks, this is a good thing! This is a real tea shop, with boba as a topping, it the other way around. I have to say, the Brits know their tea. read more
