Giving five stars for consistency and speed. All drinks I have ordered have been amazing and have left me wanting more. My favorite is the mango with the cheese cloud. It can get pretty chaotic and at times they will turn off their mobile ordering when things get too busy. The app lets you know how much time your drink will take which is very useful. The parking situation is a bit trickier - there are so many restaurants in this plaza that during dinnertime (especially on weekends) it is nearly impossible to score a spot unless you are extremely lucky. I believe they were the original ones who did the cloud foam, and they do it best for sure. My go tos include matcha cloud, cloud crisp grape, and more recently, my newest fave is the cloud pistachio jasmine tea (a newly released flavor). Only con? It's always busy. Weekends forget about it, have to order ahead in the app and come pick it up like 20-30 minutes later. On two occasions, i've waited over an hour. Not to mention the parking situation by hmart complex. It's still WORTH IT! I've literally tried every place down the line off 27 and there are a LOT. This beats every single one of them. Came on Valentines so I was expecting a wait. Mobile orders were disabled so you couldn't even order ahead to avoid the line. I ordered the green grape boom, so refreshing and not too sweet, even has real grape on the bottom. I love that they offer unique drink options and even offer to remake the drink for free if you're not satisfied. Drink was a 5/5 but the service is where it falls flat. If you download the app you get coupons for a BOGO 50% but because they weren't accepting mobile orders the coupons wouldn't work either. The cell service was so bad I couldn't even load my member code to get points. Not sure if it was the holiday but they really should let customers access their perks. So to order a drink(s), you need to download their app and order it there which is convenient since you can see and track your order. Their packaging is top notch - cups are made of thicker plastic and they come with paper bags for easier transporting. Straws are made of solid recycled plastic. If I still lived in NJ I would be here every weekend. Service is fast and efficient and the drinks are great. I will say the blue mango boom doesn't really seem any different than the regular mango boom other than color, maybe there's health benefits?? But idk if you should be considering that while drinking boba lol. We also did an online to go order through their app, which I have to say is one of the best UI I have see in a while. Heytea just opened up in the Hmart plaza, so I was very excited to try it! There was surprisingly a line out the door when I went and I'll admit the line doesn't move fast. There are paper menus once you get closer to the front to look through and there are so many options! I got the Green Grape Boom with light ice and minimal sugar. There is a couple tables and seats near the back of the cafe if you want to sit, but most people took their drinks to-go. Your order number will be yelled out in both english and mandarin and you can even watch them make your drink! The Green Grape Boom was alright, the flavor tasted like artificial grape and was quite faint (probably due to the minimal sugar), but it did have chunks of grape and a fun green color. From when I got in line to when my drink was ready, I waited a total of 30 minutes. I would be willing to come back, but I would order a different drink! read more

Heytea has been expanding its operations in the NY/NJ area and this location opened in Summer 2025, adding to the already rich selection of businesses in the H-Mart anchored shopping center in Edison, NJ. Previously I had visited the location on Grand Street in Manhattan's Chinatown, and this one definitely gave me some flashbacks to that experience. Tucked away near the Hot Pot place to the side of this shopping center, Heytea renovated the space to fit their white/light wood aesthetic. When you walk into the shop the counter to order and pick up drinks is right there. Then the middle to rear is where the seating is (and I saw a sign for rest rooms at the rear). It is a very modern and welcoming looking space. However, what made it a bit hard to deal with was the *crowd*. Normally you should be able to order via Heytea's app and then just pick up your drink. However, on this particular day the store had turned this feature off. When I got to the shop I saw why. It was PACKED. It is important to note the place only has ONE cashier station because orders generally should be coming in via the app. Without that, a giant line that completely crowded the front area formed. It was kind of hard to tell where the back of the line was so I just inserted myself behind the person who appeared the be the last person. I think I waited a good ten to fifteen minutes before I ordered. As I waited, I was watching the staff *hustle*, so they likely turned off online ordering til they could catch up. Another person in front had told me there was one day when drinks were an *hour* behind (take that with a grain of salt but it would be an odd thing to fib about). Part of the problem is that a lot of people in front of me did not seem to understand the menu nor had they bothered to look at the menu in the app so they wound up asking the poor cashier at least 2-3 questions each, which delayed everybody. I highly recommend looking at the menu in the app and being ready to order when you get to the cashier to keep things moving quickly. I ordered the Grapefruit Boom which features Jasmine Tea and grapefruit pulp in a slush form. The drink is beautiful, with a layer of ice on top, then grapefruit pulp and finally golden tea. Mix it up and take a sip with everything combined and it was *delicious*. The tea was wonderfully floral and lightly sweet while the grapefruit added a bright contrast to the tea. I'd drink this again any time! The wait was a bit much, but I can't argue with the quality of Heytea's drinks. read more

One of my favorite bubble tea chains opened up on Jersey :) Pretty reliable drinks, but crazy lines out the door. App is not that reliable and you have to order in person most of the times. Wait can be around 25min to an hour. A couple of seats inside, with a nice open layout. The better HeyTeas I've been to have still been in NYC, but if you live in Jersey you won't have to travel very far to get their signature fruit drinks! read more

So when a new one opens up in my area, I am beyond excited. I ordered the Red Blossom Milk Tea with no sugar. Upon first sip, my eyes widened with delight and I remembered why I love bubble teas. The Red Blossom is a type of black tea. The tea flavor came through beautifully and omg, I tasted hints of hazelnut and chocolate. Lol. YUMMM!!! It will be very hard for me to order something else since this was a solid 10/10 for me. Gotta ask for light ice next time. I am a fan & I highly recommend!! Please be patient as the volume of customers are non-stop. Super friendly helpful staff. If you are dissatisfied with your drink, just let them know and they will remake for you. I've been to many Heytea locations before including the ones in Asia and manhattan. This was by far the most disorganized location I've seen and it may be the fact it's new and they are still training/working out the logistics. I went in on a Tuesday afternoon and there was no line at all. 1 person was ordering ahead of me so I was hoping I could get in and out quickly but I was wrong. After that person finished ordering, instead of letting me place my order first (there was no one else behind me), she went head to help another person pack up drinks and then took her time to fold up the cup holders (which was not needed at that time). I was just standing there watching her fold them up for a good 5mins. She then spent an additional 2-3mins trying to figure out which drink a customer had because they wanted to make a change to her order. During those 7-8mins, a bunch of online orders came through which further delayed my place in their assembly line. I finally was able to order and was told they ran out of yumberry, which was the main reason I went there and it was disappointing. I then opted for the crisp grape boom, which is my normal go to if yumberry is not in season. The drink itself was great just like any other Heytea locations as it was refreshing and the grapes were fresh and sweet (I've had ones before where the grapes were so sour I just ended up throwing the whole cup away). Overall, if you're looking to go check it out, I would not go at this time and especially not on weekends as their drinks are not amazing enough to worth the wait for over an hour. I would probably wait until they have fully trained their staff and worked out their logistics first because they are not very efficient at the moment. When my daughter told me she loved Hey Tea when she tried it London, I was hesitant. Good bubble tea in London? Ha! Fast forward to today, and we're standing in a Hey Tea in Edison, where bubble tea shops are more competitive than ever. This place is fairly new, having opened just a few weeks now. There are throngs of customers with a line out the door on a Sunday night at 8pm. When I ordered, they were out of almost everything! No mango, no guava, no sago, no coconut jelly! I placed my order and my digital receipt says there are 50 orders ahead of me! Altogether, it took about an hour for my drinks. There are so many new and different varieties of options here- not just your standard bubble tea options. I ordered a jasmine latte, with boba but no sugar. The jasmine tea is strong and fragrant! It's so strong you can even taste the bitterness of the tea. The boba is soft and chewy with great texture. Whereas the Kung Fu tea had a sweaty sewer smell, Hey Tea in its replacement spot, smells like strong tea. It's the real deal. They use real tea leaves. You can smell it and you can see it. Part of their decor is clear container boxes of different types of tea leaves displayed all along the counters.. You can monitor the progress of your order on their app, along with how many more orders are ahead of you. Their materials say they use all natural ingredients, no artificial creamers, no instant tea or tea bags. With all the bubble tea my family drinks, this is a good thing! Waited in line for over 20 minutes as the line was out the door and they only had one cashier, and when I finally got to the cashier to order was told that one drink will have to wait 40 minutes to an hour before it'll be ready. They had one cashier and over 10 people in the back making drinks. If there is such a long delay beyond waiting in line to order then they need a way to let people know so people don't wait so long in line just to wait even longer for the drink. I get they are new and supposedly are good and popular, but until they sort out their ordering logistics then I don't plan to be going back.
