Being from New York they were not the best egg and cheese on a bagel sandwich I have ever had but it was pretty good. My family got everything bagels with egg and cheese and I believe a cinnamon bagel with cream cheese and it was delicious. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next morning and tried our sandwich with asiago cheese bagels and it was even better. We often stop here for bagels if we are heading to Maine in the morning. The bagels are excellent, fresh and lots of choices of kind. Also varied and interesting cream cheese. I had a raisin bagel with plain cream cheese, my husband had an everything bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese. We were on a overnight in Providence and needed a quick place to grab a bit for breakfast. This place looked like it would fit the bill. It's located just of a round a bout so pay attention to the entrance! Other than that there is ample parking in the lot which is shared by other businesses. Walking in you are immediately greeted with an overhead sign with menu items, however, you need to look around as there are other items written on other signs all over the place! We opted for a couple of breakfast sammys on everything bagels and a bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Grabbed a coffee as well. The coffee was decent, just above average. I'd get it again. The sandwiches were fantastic! Not the best ever but really close. One of them had pepper jack and man it was spicy, had a very nice kick. The blueberry cream cheese as one of the best we've had, perhaps due to everything blueberry being amazing in the bay state, but still delicious. Moved to Kittery a couple of months ago, been wanting to try this place and was, unfortunately, very disappointing. When I go inside, there were no other customers, folks behind the counter didn't greet or say much of anything, just gave me a total for the check I asked my bagel to be well done, it was under cooked and doughy, just not a good bagel to begin with Also, my husband was asking questions about the eggs and we finally figured out that they are the pre made egg patties Coffee was good, but otherwise, a disappointing experience and I am sure I won't be back read more

Stopped her while traveling for work, cool little place. Great atmosphere and customer service! As far as the food the bagels are good but being from North Jersey it's not a NJ/NY bagel by any stretch. Cream cheese is homemade and they also had great coffee! I have no clue how we ended up here the day after Christmas for lunch, but we did! On our way home from Portland we were looking for a quick lunch spot but not fast food. After paying our last ME toll, we found the Kittery exit so I pulled over. The first two restaurants I saw were Dairy Queen or Bagel Caboose. Bagels=no-brainer. We pulled in and I went inside to check out the menu first...they had me at the lox. The interior is simple--wood floors, chalkboard menus, and a little train going around the ceiling. I ordered the lox on a plain bagel and also the Canadian maple sausage and egg sandwich on a french toast bagel (as it was suggested to me by the server). I also grabbed a small coffee and only waited a few minutes for my food. We took it to the car since we had our dog with us and enjoyed every last bite. My boyfriend was raised in Kittery and was telling my all about the Bagel Caboose and how the bagels are amazing. So on a little hometown tour, he took me to his old home, while on the way we passed the bagel caboose. I knew we had to stop, but sadly they looked closed. He was determined to show me his favorite bagel shop, and that he did. The owner was closing up, and the staff had already left, but he let us come in and order. This sweet French man made my afternoon, and he made my boyfriends, love it when that happens. The lox bagel is so delicious, couldn't have asked for a better bagel in small town Maine. I don't care for cream cheese so I ordered a bagel toasted with butter, and it definitely tickled my fancy. The owner is rude. My in-laws were visiting and we went to eat at the table out side. My father in law is a bit of a hefty man but with severe back injuries and when he sat the whole table came with him as he fell back and his hot coffee fell all over him. The owner's response? Bad bagel ... went 6:30 am early on a Wed morning (7-13-2016) while on vacation here in the beautiful state of Maine, to make sure they were fresh ... Ordered an Everything bagel just plain in the bag ... I like to test bagels minus all the extras that can hide the true quality. Anyway, I think (in my opinion) they are serving something like a Walmart frozen bagel ... took one bite and tossed it .. Dry ... heavy ... stale-ish ... no flavor ... and it looked like someone had squashed it (hmmm ???) ... Could it have been in a shopping bag at one point ??? Yuk ... This is not how you do a bagel ... I know Maine is not great for breads and baked goods, but this was just the worst. The Bagel Caboose is an adorable red caboose that has bagels, cream cheese, bagel sandwiches, muffins, and quite a few flavors of coffee every day. My favorite thing? They have tofu cream cheese! My least favorite? The bagels aren't great (I firmly believe that bagels must be boiled) and I don't think they make them there - I arrived really early one morning (6am or so) and the bagels weren't even the tiniest bit warm. We found the Bagel Caboose in a web search while looking for a good local place for breakfast while we were in Portsmouth - it's convenient to the highway and seemed like a cool locally-owned place for a bagel and coffee. They have a great selection of bagels and spreads. The breakfast sandwiches are creative and delicious. Eating a bagel inside a caboose is also a really cool experience. Great little joint! More flavors of cream cheese than I ever knew were possible. Quick friendly service with indoor and outdoor seating. The place is small and get crowded quickly but the staff does a great job of moving the lines along. Multiple types of coffee are served along with standard juices, milk and energy drinks which you grab from a cooler next to the counter. Price isn't too shabby either. I bought five bagels with cream cheese, two bagel breakfast sandwiches, four chocolate milks and two large coffees for just $30. Gonna add this place to my list of frequently visited restaurants. read more

I hate to leave a bad review for a place that is so kind and welcoming, but this is one of the worst Lox bagels I have ever had. The salmon was not good it was small thin stringy strips of fish not your typical slabs of smoked salmon, also it was a very pale pink not the usual dark and smoky color. The bagels are also not that great, they are more like a bread than a bagel, very fluffy no crusty exterior, no crunch. I'll try them again but definitely will not be ordering the Lox. read more

I never use yelp and specifically re downloaded the app to write a review for this place. Bagels are terrible... starchy and bland. Not to mention the lady that puts them together put barely any effort into making it better, she might as well have heated it up in the microwave and then there was the cream cheese... just barely not enough and when asked for a little more they charged $1.35 for an extra side of cream cheese. Great little bagel place conveniently located at the Kittery traffic circle, so it has easy access on and off 95. They usually have about a dozen or so varieties of bagels available to choose from, all very good. They have several options for cream cheese as well. They also offer some other small baked goods and bagel sandwiches. This is a good choice for a quick breakfast. read more

Didn't know what to expect when i first walked in the adorable little red caboose, and was pleasently surprised. The small room was dimly lit and they had a lot of different spreads u could put on your bagel or croissant including boursin with chive and homemade creamcheeses. The bagels are ridiculously soft and deliscious. Im a purist so i got a sesame with butter and was not dissapointed in the slightest. So good that i bought a half dozen to bring home with me :). We stopped today for a bagel sandwich and a toasted french toast bagel with butter.. Awful!! Tasted like they weren't fully cooked. The bagels had little or no flavor..
