The Shack Up on the right.

Excuse my English. My grandfather was nothing more than a humble coffee bean farmer, as was his father. He spent his whole life growing the best coffee beans that Colombia has ever tasted. When he passed away, my father took over the business. The coffee was in my blood and I did what I could to help him. I had prepared to make the place when I was of legal age, but my father had other plans for me. He took the money he saved to send me to the University in the United States. I couldn't afford to come back to visit, so I spent my free time working to pay for school and studying hard to get my law degree. When I finally got my first job after graduating. I took my first paycheck to return it to him. He was older than I remembered and he had sold the business by then, but he was still him. And he still smelled like our family, like us, like coffee. The aroma of rise & grind given to my heart reminded me of him. The smell brought me back to my childhood home and to the large number of memories that accompanied me. The coffee had a boisterous flavor reminiscent of the powerful beans we used to prepare. I got a black coffee with sugar on the side and the taste alone was phenomenal. That's where the review would end if I didn't get the "Shack Up". ¡Asombroso!. Oh my God, that was an incredible sandwich. The flavor combinations were complementary to each other and work perfectly together. It was a very necessary addition to the order and I will order it again. In general, Rise & Grind was a truly revolutionary breakfast experience that I will enjoy again. If I could, I would leave 10 stars.

As a UNH student I recommend rise and grind as one of the best coffee shops by campus! Every time I go I try a new flavor in my iced coffee and am never disappointed in how good it tastes! I recommend trying the jelly donut flavor shot for something fun and different. Their bagels are pretty good but their unique cream cheeses make them great - I got the brown sugar swirl cream cheese. Also, love the decoration of the place

I love this place! Their coffee is absolutely great and their breakfast sandwiches are amazing! Their pigs in a blanket sandwich was so good and I loved their s'mores coffee so much! Also, the inside is such a cute space to sit and relax or do some work!

They share a door with a barbershop and the storefront is tiny. From what I understand, they mostly sell wholesale to other restaurants, but they open up a small window of sales to walk-in customers. When they are sold out, they are done for the day, so get there early! Now for the donuts. Delicious, delicate, and honestly some of the best I have ever had. These are not your average gas station donuts. You can taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite. But what really blew me away was the hospitality. I had already picked out 8 donuts when I was told it was cash only. I had none on me, but offered to run out and come back if she could hold my box. Without hesitation, she handed me the box and told me to pay whenever I could. She was completely serious. That kind of trust and generosity is rare and it genuinely made my day. A few things to know before you go: it is cash only, the space is small with just a few tables and chairs, and they sell out fast. But it is absolutely worth the effort. Support this business. You will not regret it.

The staff were efficient and friendly, and everything came out fresh. Congdon's has a really nice variety of donuts, muffins, and other baked goods, and everything we tried was delicious. The blueberry fritter was the star crisp on the outside, soft inside, and packed with blueberry flavor. I would absolutely recommend it. They also offer a sit‑down breakfast with classic options like breakfast sandwiches and French toast, so it's a good spot whether you just want coffee and a box of donuts or a full morning meal. Overall, great service, excellent donuts, and definitely worth the short wait. We'll be back next time we're in the area!

They have long lines that move very quickly, lots of self-seating available indoors and outdoors, and a very cute patio area and some photo-ops. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered a half dozen donuts to try: the maple glazed, chocolate glazed, strawberry frosted, chocolate creme filled, glazed, and a blueberry fritter. The fritter was the favorite of the group, followed by the maple (iconic Maine flavors!) We would definitely skip the chocolate and the strawberry frosted next time and opt to try some other fritter flavors.

In a place where la famiglia é tutto, they know how to greet you. We were invited in by the quintessential Italian signs as much as the complex aromas. The pastries were a delight, but it was me who was delighted by the Old World style adorning the newly renovated space. A mixture of textures, from wood to stone work to leather chairs helped create the ambiance, and the cathedral ceiling was highlighted by painted white rafters. Today I tried the spiral ham on brioche breakfast sandwich and a café Americano, and I got a pastry with cannoli filling to go. I'm not sure what I'll get next time, but I know this bakery is a recipe for something great about our country. I'm no Maine scholar, but I'm pretty sure the state motto: "Dirigo," translates to "The pastries are delizioso," (give or take.)

The donuts may have been the best I've had - the Boston cream was delightfully fluffy and bursting with custard that was not overpoweringly sweet. I also snacked on a plain croissant on the drive and was content with the crunchy top and honeycomb inside. I saw someone else enjoying a gelato - that will have to be the next on my list! There are two parking areas so if you can't find a spot, drive to the other side of the building!
