    Fougasse

Yummy Fougasse! It's huge! Soft in the middle, hint of rosemary and brushed with olive oil and finishing salt! Service was quick. Nice lunch place.

Stopped here for a sandwich while traveling and was very impressed with the fresh ingredients. I got a ham and fresh mozzarella on a baguette and it was very good. You can tell the bread is homemade. They have so many fun desserts too. The place was packed and I'm glad we called ahead for our sandwiches. They have a small outside seating section and some inside seating as well.

First of all the service is always great here. The people are not only willing but loving to give suggestions about which delicious pastry I should bring home to my wife, how decadent I should make my iced mocha, in which sandwiches are good. The food is excellent. I've been eating the cowgirl cuties as I call them or cowgirl cookies as they call them since I was a teen that is 20 years. I got my pastry for my wedding from here. what pushed me over the edge today was that when I was in the bathroom It was exceptionally warm and smelled like memories of Paris France. how could I would give them five stars? not to mention they have indoor and outdoor seating. thank you Beach Pea for the excellent breakfast. I wish I had got a hazelnut coffee too.

Second best bakery in the area (Lils is number 1). Bialy is the way to go, or fougasse if you need bread for a crowd. I'm also partial to the spinach and cheese croissant. Desserts are solid.

Stopped here for lunch on the way into Maine. Cute indoor and outdoor seating with friendly staff. Ordered a Build your own sandwich and a turkey avocado. Delicious bread (especially the focaccia) and when I realized they left off the avocado they quickly got me some. Excellent coffee too. Not far off the highway and a convenient place to get breakfast, lunch or pastries.

I was walking around kittery looking for the best food and this came up in my yelp search. I took a quick 15 minute walk around and was overwhelmed with the number of options. Thankfully, the kind woman working behind the counter was nice enough to give me some recommendations. I knew I had to get the Fougasse because it was literally edible art. But then I wanted some little desserts to bring back to the wife and mother in law. I was recommended the sesame cashew bar and the lemon ginger snap cookies. Both of which I very much enjoyed! The Fougasse was my favorite, I'm a sucker for rosemary and olive oil studded bread.. The cashew bar was texturally interesting and very fun. I kept going back for more. I wasn't terribly impressed with the flavor of it overall, I thought it was a little on the sweet side and could have used a more nutty, deep flavor. Maybe some toasted sesame sticks would be a good addition to this? Or maybe just a less sweet shortbread crust that leans more into the nutty vs the sweet. Either way, I'm glad I tried it but I'd try something else next time. The lemon ginger snap was also great. I loved that the ginger snaps were crisp not soft baked. I do wish the lemon filling was much more lemony though, but that's just a preference of mine. Again, I'd try something else next time. Hopefully if you're reading this you caught the "next time" because there will be a next time! Beach pea is churning out quality and I'm here for it. When I visit again, I'll surely be back to try another sampling!

Perfectly fine. We stopped in on a busy Sunday after shopping at a few nearby businesses in the are, looking for lunch. We had never been to Beach Pea Baking before but by the looks of the people sitting outside eating their lunches, good things were to be found inside. It was very busy and fast moving inside, there was not time to think or peruse and the place seemed to be filled with regulars who knew exactly what they wanted and in what way they wanted it. All of this is great IF you are a regular and are ready set GO when you get to the register. I would not consider myself a massive dawdler when ordering (most of the time) but wow, did I feel rushed. I got up to the counter and...hi...ill take a....tuna sandwich! My order was processed within seconds and the sandwich came out within a reasonable amount of time. It was ok.

My mom and I stopped in for a couple of salads at lunch. I ordered the harvest vegetable salad with chicken. There were roasted zucchini, carrots, mushrooms, and sweet potato with goat cheese and nuts. FANTASTIC!!! My mom got the apple grove salad and enjoyed hers too. Wishes the whole cashews were candied and cut into slivers or something like that. Two salads came to $31 total and came out within 10 minutes. Very friendly service and cute location for a lunch date.

Fogasse...super delicious bread with olive oil and rosemary. Looks like the tree of life. Now this is a great way to break bread!!

This is clearly a local favorite because it was packed on Monday at noon!! They have a great selection of sandwiches and salads as well as breads, of course! We decided on the roasted vegetable salad with goat cheese, the turkey and avocado sandwich, and the everything bialy with basil pesto spread. All three of these were delicious!! Fresh ingredients, healthy, and satisfying. We also had the breakfast bar which was great with coffee. It's like a roll with nuts and cranberries. My absolute favorite thing was the fogasse...it's an oily herby bread kinda like a mix of focaccia and ciabatta. That thing made me say Whoa! when I took a bite. I'm warning you, it's deliciously addicting. The staff here is young but they were working hard and giving great service. The owner, Mariah, knows what she's doing and has a lot of happy customers to serve!! Highly recommend!!

Burger patties are wicked thin, fries are just some plain, frozen crap and the shake had a bizarre cookie coating around the top. Not the edge/rim, the whole like, 1/4 top of the cup was coated in crumbs.. which got everywhere and made it inedible and impossible to put in a cup holder if you wanted to bring it home with you. Just so weird. It's also just gross in there in general. To be honest, all of that would be forgivable if the staff were at least the slightest bit nice. They are all so incredibly rude. They are young and I get that Covid ruined their formidable socialization years, but it's actually crazy how awful they are. Can't even get them to crack a smile or a "thank you". Sorry, not to be a boomer, but if I'm spending 55 bucks on two burgers some fries and a shake, I'd like some good customer service. Definitely save your money. There are lots of other options in the area.

The "classic" burgers that we ordered were well represented with the ingredients we like (beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle with some "hush" sauce - essentially thousand island dressing). We loved every bite !! We'd return here in a heartbeat, so if ever we're up in that area, we'll be getting those burgers again. Yummm.
