Service, price, food quality and great customer service La Casita will not disappoint you A must try!

    Steak Burger

Loved it! Very small local pick up restaurant with a couple of picnic tables. They don't play with the amount of steak in the burger, the buns are so soft and veggies I can tell it's fresh. I'd visit again to try their bowl. Perfect place for a quick bite to satisfy your empty stomach. Will def go back to try thier famous bowl menu!

Drove here for lunch with a friend and we both had the mahi mahi bowls. WOAH. The fish was super fresh, juicy and perfectly fried. The bowls were portioned well enough for two meals, but the food was so good that we couldn't stop ourselves. LOVED their selection of sauces to top off your bowl. If you're feeling real ambitious, get a side of the papas bravas. These are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and deliciously spicy.

Fresh and delicious Cuban and Puerto Rican inspired "fast" food. Easy to pop off I95 at Kittery exit to little traffic circle. We have been stopping here for years, and the rice bowls seems to have gotten even better. Are you vegetarian or vegan? The tofu is absolutely delicious. As is the chimichurri sauce. And we often take extra Latin slaw home. Plenty for meat eaters, too. The people are friendly; one worker inside ran our order out to the car.

This brightly colored yet unassuming establishment holds the key to summer warmth on a cold Maine day. My husband and I were pleased to find that selecting and ordering vegan food was a simple process. The menu was clearly marked and the staff was able to provide ingredient information when we placed our order. Building a rice and bean bowl is a pleasure. Seasoned tofu was the available vegan protein, and the rest of the bowl was a choose your own adventure delight. I got black beans and guava barbecue sauce, and my husband chose red beans and chimichurri sauce. Both bowls were then heaped with crunchy, fresh Latin slaw and crisp potato sticks for a delightful texture contrast. It was with regret that we admitted defeat before finishing the generous portions. We also ordered sweet potato fries, served piping hot, crispy and well-salted. The selection of hot sauces available to amp up your lunch ranged from vinegary and bracing to XXXXHot, a great range for whatever palate you have. We are looking forward to our next visit to La Casita.

What a treasure. We ate here on our last day in Maine. We stumbled upon this hidden gem. My big picky family now loves cuban food. Throw a dart or just eat them in orde off the menu. We travel north only once a year and I need this place to be around. It is now days later and we still talk about this place.

Mediocre food and expensive for what you get. Slaw is tasteless and empanadas were basically fried dough. Give me a break!

We didn't expect to find good Puerto Rican food in Portland, but I'm so glad we found this local gem! Reservations are recommended; they were still packed during the off season. We were lucky enough to snag two seats at the bar during dinner time without a wait. The bartender is super friendly and gave us some excellent food recommendations. We ordered the beef empanadas, pernil, and pollo guisado. Everything was DELICIOUS. The beef empanada filling is hard to beat - this might be one of the best ones I've had yet. We both really enjoyed the pernil & pollo guisado, but the soup was probably my favorite. I'm a soup gal, and this was just a hearty and excellent bowl of soup. Pernil portions were very generous. Definitely a highlight of our trip!

I Gotta say it smelled soo good. Just like my mommas kitchen. The atmosphere was incredible, it was upscale yet cozy. The food was really good too.. The empanadas were very tasty and in also ordered tacos and corn fritters that were delicious as well. Only thing i didnt like is that their rice had an insane amount of olives for the serving size. I counted 18 olives in a small serving. I mean I dont mind olives but not that much. I ordered rice with guandules and I feel I got rice with olives. I honestly had a very good experience here and would definately come back if im ever in the area again.

I could've done without the lettuce in the burrito, and I did remove 1 star because it was falling apart when I got home and I ended up having to use my own (store bought) tortilla, which was disappointing after paying $17 for a burrito. Even so, everything was super flavorful! Tacos would be my recommendation to others. I also very much appreciate that the food is all authentic and handmade, they had picnic tables in the shade for seating, and the chef was welcoming and happy to explain the menu options.

I have heard great things and was really hoping they had pupusas available on the truck... but no such luck. Only tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. That's ok because the very kind gentleman on the truck made the 3 Amigos sound really good! It's one pork, one beef, and one chicken taco on homemade tortillas with the standard fixings - onion, cilantro, guac, and salsa. I will say that the homemade tortillas are very good, though different than most I've had. They are soft to the point of almost being creamy? Very very rich, reminded me of the base of a sope. The meats were absolutely delicious and grilled and full of flavor. I loved both the pork and the beef, though the fattiness could've used an extra lime or two. I took one bite of the chicken taco and got a couple little bones, so I didn't eat the rest of that one. The sauces were good, though I was told one of the sauces was VERY VERY hot and I didn't detect a lot of spiciness from it. I think overall, I could've used double garnish, double lime, and a lot of extra heat. There are no prices on the board so I was thinking three tacos would come to like $10 - $12. Turns out they are $20 before tax, holy moley. I admit that my expectations were high before I even took a bite, because that price point is a little crazy. I am super curious about the brick and mortar because I'm sure it's a different experience with the food truck. These tacos were definitely tasty enough to do some more research!

This spot is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood serving authentic Puerto Rican food. It's quite cozy inside with less than 20 tables making for a very intimate experience. I loved the decor inside too. The cocktail I ordered was called the Besó Boricua and my boyfriend got a glass of sangria. My drink was sweet and very enjoyable, plus it looked very picturesque. The sangria was good too, a little strong. We split the Tostones Salmorejo de Jueyes which were very tasty, I had never tried a dish like this before. The tostones were crunchy and fresh and the topping was tasty. My entree was the Churrasco con Salsa Chimichurri, which was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly and the chimichuri salsa was super tasty. I also loved the rice and beans it came with. Huge portion but I was able to pace myself and finish most of it. My boyfriend got the Chuleta Kan-Kan which he really enjoyed. The portion was also huge and I didnt try it but he said was tasty. Our servers were very nice and kept checking in on us as well. It wasn't that busy when we came which we liked because we could enjoy each others company more in a quiet setting. Definitively check this place out, we will be trying out their sister restaurants!!
