For a quick weeknight dinner, I stopped by Empanellie's. While browsing the menu, I decided to try the jibarito - a sandwich made with flattened plantains instead of bread, filled with lettuce, tomato, and a choice of protein ($14). I picked the euphemistically named "steak," which turned out to be ground beef that wasn't even well-browned. The combination of lettuce, tomato, and simply seasoned ground beef tasted a bit too much like a Crunchwrap Supreme. Fresher and twice the size, sure - but still within that same flavor palette. Even the fried green plantains, which should've added some texture, had steamed into mild sogginess from the foil wrap, despite me ordering it for dine-in. Maybe I'll try the Cubano or the empanadas next time. The jibarito was fine, but definitely overhyped here and on Google Reviews.

Empanellie Puerto Rican Cuisine - A Hidden Gem in Nashua Empanellie Puerto Rican Cuisine in Nashua, NH, is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Puerto Rican flavors. As a Puerto Rican myself, I was incredibly impressed with the quality, taste, and presentation of the food. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere and vibrant decor, featuring a mural of dancing jibaritos, immediately transported me back to my roots. The service was exceptional, with our waitress going above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. From the mouthwatering Alcapurrias and empanadillas to the unforgettable jibarito and mofongo, every dish was a culinary masterpiece. Even my non-Puerto Rican friends were blown away by the flavors and textures. One thing that truly sets Empanellie apart is its commitment to customer satisfaction. When I realized my jibarito contained mayuketchup (to which I'm allergic), the staff immediately remade it without hesitation. Their kindness and attention to detail were truly commendable!!! Highlights of our meal: - Alcapurrias: Crispy and golden brown on the outside, with a savory and flavorful filling on the inside. - Empanadillas: Flaky and buttery crusts filled with a delicious combination of steak and cheese or chicken and cheese. - Jibarito: A mouthwatering sandwich made with plantains, pork, cheese, and tomatoes. I was particularly impressed with the quality of the pork, which was lean and flavorful. - Mofongo: A hearty and satisfying dish made with mashed plantains, topped with your choice of protein and sauce. We tried the chicken chicharron and mofongo sandwich styles, and both were delicious. - Burrifongo: A unique and flavorful creation that combines the best of both mofongo and sandwiches. The rice, beans, chicken, cheese, and mayuketchup (a Puerto Rican specialty similar to Thousand Island dressing) were a perfect combination. - Tres Leches: A decadent and creamy cake that was the perfect ending to our meal. - Yuka Fries: Perfectly fried and incredibly delicious. Even I, a Yuka skeptic, was impressed by these fries. What I loved most about Empanellie was the ability to customize every dish to my preference. Unlike many other restaurants, they were more than happy to accommodate my requests and ensure that I had the perfect meal. This attention to detail made my dining experience even more enjoyable. A special shout-out to our amazing waitress. Her exceptional service and friendly demeanor made our dining experience even more memorable. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but I won't forget her kindness and professionalism. Overall, our experience at Empanellie was exceptional. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. If you're looking for a truly authentic Puerto Rican dining experience, Empanellie is a must-try. It's a hidden gem that will leave you craving more. The next time I visit my bestie, I'll definitely be coming back here! Even the day after, I can't stop thinking about that incredible jibarito. All the food we had was absolutely delicious, but the jibarito was something else. Even my best friend and her daughters (who aren't Puerto Rican) loved it.

Both papas locals small. fries & plantains to try both. The plantains is the better choice. Empanadas are great. The Burrifongo incredible.

Great pick up spot. Well priced. I love the Cubano sandwich while my wife likes all the dessert empanadas. We always seem to have leftovers.

After a long afternoon of shopping, my friends and I built up and appetite. We wanted something…read morequick that would calm our hunger for the drive home to RI. One of my friends was more familiar with the area and recommended we come here. She ordered a plate of fried pork with tostones, some guisado de res, and white rice. The total was around $20 which was fair for the portion sizes. The guisado was a bit oily but the flavor was really good and the meat was very tender. Since the tostones did not come with a sauce, we ended up dunking them in the guisado. The tostones were on the thicker side but crispy and tasty. The fried pork was good, although maybe a little bland. The lime helped a little bit with bringing out the flavor. The white rice was good. They offer a small, medium, and large portion - small was good as a snack for 3 people. I would come back and try more of their menu items. They have a parking lot, but it was packed and the snow didn't help. There is also street parking. It is in a lively part of town, so I enjoyed people watching while eating in the car.

There's a large dining/ bar area and a takeout side with a few tables. We ordered the sancocho and rabo guisado (Oxtails), with white rice and plantains. The sancocho was pretty good. It had a lot of meat and vegetables, the white rice was perfectly cooked. I thought the sancocho had a bit too much garlic in the seasoning, but it was still great, especially since it was rainy and a bit chilly. The Oxtails were simply amazing! They were extremely tender and practically falling off the bone. The sauce was seasoned perfectly and paired well with the white rice. I've never had Oxtails this good at a restaurant. They tasted just like when mom recipe takes hours and hours to make since you want to cook it long enough for the meat to become tender. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food came pretty quickly. Prices were very reasonable. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely return and order the Oxtails.
