    Oxtail with rice and beans

Usually get door dash from here and it is well packed so no leaking like the one from the mall. I usually get the oxtail and it's delicious . Love the beans too. Fried plantains are yummy.

This place is unbelievable!! It's a small restaurant with about 6-8 tables but the food n service is great.. The food is prepared and cooked on site.. Fresh and delicious with large portions. I am back in California and I am missing the food from here. Take your family or friends and go enjoy this place. Trust me,, you can't go wrong. Just make sure you're hungry because it's a lot of food for a small price!!

What a great find! Located at the corner of Ash Street and Lake Street, Cibao Kitchen is a tiny Latin American/Dominican takeout restaurant tucked behind the Lake Convenience Store. The place is very small (takeout only), which is like stepping inside a friend's kitchen. The food is hot and ready to be served from behind the glass display windows. The food offerings here include dinner plates (choices of beef stew, sauteed steak, chicken stew, rotisserie chicken, ribs, roast pork) served with rice and salad, plus fried plantains, pastelitos (chicken, beef, or cheese), yuca, fries, rice & beans, and salad. After conducting important business across the street, I stopped in at Cibao Kitchen recently for dinner takeout. Since I was hungry, I wanted something tasty and filling. The owner showed me the hot food selections offered from behind the glass window. I chose the dinner box with beef with gravy, rice & beans & a green salad (iceberg lettuce, tomato, Italian dressing) and two pastelitos (chicken and beef). The total came out to $14. I could wait to get home, so I could enjoy my food. The portion of food was generous, box was filled up good. The marinated beef was slow cooked (simmered), soft and very tender, with hearty flavors, melt in your mouth excellent! The rice & beans were tasty too, accompanied crisp green salad. The pastelitos (crisp pastry shells filled with meats) were pretty good! I am glad I found this little gem, located away from the main strip. I will definitely return here to try the other dishes.

Really?! Only 4 reviews for this spot? The disrespect. I remember first visiting Cibao Kitchen after seeing it pop up on the "hot and new" section of NH Yelp a while back. After that, it became one of my favorite lunch spots when I met clients in Nashua and I'd still be a customer had I not moved out of New Hampshire. Sure, this is your humble Dominican take-out joint that doesn't even look like a traditional restaurant. The inside is cramped leaving zero room for a dining area and the appearance on the outside could easily fool many into mistaking this for a residential building. But walk through the doors and you'll be rewarded with smiles and heavenly aromas. F O O D The menu consists of breakfast items, various entrees, sides (rice & beans, fried plantains, empanadas), and drinks! My usual order was the pollo al horno (rotisserie chicken) with rice & beans and a side salad. Though not as juicy as I was expecting, the chicken was still very tasty. The rice was not as flavorful as the versions I am used to but that's ok too. Their side salad and tangy dressing were refreshing and provided a nice break on my palate from the heavy chicken. They provide a lot of food. I used to eat half for lunch and save the rest for dinner. I especially enjoyed that my entire meal only set me back $10! I've also had some of the empanadas. I recommend the beef one as that tasted the best to me. The cheese was ok but not filled with much. In addition, I highly recommend trying some of their drinks. My favorite was the morir sonando which was a milk and orange drink. I think it's perfect for hot summer days when your at work and wish you were on vacation. Just close your eyes and take a few sips. S E R V I C E I was legitimately so excited to learn that this Dominican place opened up in New Hampshire. That meant I no longer had to make my own. I couldn't find an online menu at the time so I just walked in to scout the place. I'd point at food to guess what they were and the friendly woman behind the counter either verified my guesses or corrected me. I then asked if they had tostones (fried green plantains). They did not but the woman said she would happily fry some up if I wanted. I declined as I had to return to work but that was nice of her. Though not the best I've had, their food is truly comforting, delicious, and a welcome addition to Nashua. I highly recommend them. This state needs more places like Cibao Kitchen. Just name me another Dominican restaurant in New Hampshire with food this good at this price!

Cibao Restaurant - large Pollo Guisado with white rice Habichuela and side salad.

On the evening of Sunday, August 30th, 2025, we ordered 4 large "pollo guisado" aka "stewed…read morechicken" dinners with white rice and habichuela beans with a side of lettuce/tomato salad for $13.99 each meal and 1 large side order of "habichuelas" aka "beans" for $10.50 for pick up via phone. SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS OF WHAT THEY GAVE US BELOW. However, when my husband got to the store and AFTER he already PAID for the food order, the front cashier/clerk told him she had sold out of the white rice and that he had to wait an additional 25 minutes as she was making another batch of white rice. The problem is that this was NOT DISCLOSED TO US until he got to the store--and ONLY AFTER he had already paid for the whole order. This was an inconvenience for all of us because we had ordered the 4 dinners nearly over 30 minutes PRIOR to heading to pick up the dinners. Our meals should have been set aside by the cashier or helper, not wait until AFTER he got to the store and ONLY AFTER he paid AND left her a 15% tip for a PICK-UP ORDER to let us know they ran out of white rice. Had the store worker told him BEFORE him paying, he could have made the choice of leaving or waiting for an additional 25 mins. They should have given him the CHOICE to decide what WE WANTED to do, not FORCE us to pay then force him to wait an additional 25 minutes for the 4 dinners, which conveniently benefitted the cashier/clerk and store as they made sure they got the purchase sale through BEFORE letting us know they were out of the white rice! Later, when we got the 4 large dinners at $13.99 each, the LARGE order portions were very SMALL. The stewed chicken portions were small, the beans that were put on top of the white rice were less than 1/4 of a cup and mostly bean juice, and the side salad was extra small. Additionally, the almost $11 large side order of beans was 1/2 filled with beans and 1/2 filled with bean juice. This is NOT acceptable and very unprofessional. Therefore, due to this unfortunate cashier/clerk's decision of not notifying us that they ran out of white rice PRIOR to us paying for the 4 dinners, plus filling less than 1/2 portion of the 1 large beans container--and then, giving us only SMALL portions of all contents in our 4 large chicken stew order meals along with only 1/4 cup of beans on top of the rice with an extra small salad, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND ordering large dinners from Cibao Restaurant at 383 Amherst Street, in Nashua, NH. So, if you are looking for delicious tasting Dominican & Puerto Rican style well priced food, we recommend ordering from DON QUIJOTE RESTAURANT (+1-603-622-2246, at 362 Union Street, Manchester, NH, https://www.donquijoteunion.com/ . Don Quijote restaurant's food is amazing! Their large portion comes with 3 tender skinless chicken thighs in tomato with garlic, green pepper, onion, seasoned sauce with lots of great tasting habichuela beans and rice with a side order of salad. Don Quijote will give you what you paid for and serve you will actually get a large portion serving with their orders. Trust me, they send you so much food you'll have enough leftover for a second meal vs the other place (Cibao Restaurant) which leaves you wondering why they under serve their paying customers.

When we got there we were a little confused because it was also a store. towards the back they have a little restaurant and a menu where you can choose how many pieces of chicken you want with fries or plantains. However, while we were waiting in line we talked to someone that frequents the establishment and they said to not order off of that menu and just go further down the line and order off what's on the table. So I took her advice and ordered some Spanish rice with chicken stew and one piece of fried Chicken. The food smelled amazing the entire drive home and when we got home we started to eat. There was a lot of rice which is great but not needed and the chicken was very good. I actually preferred the fried over the stew but that's just me. I'm sure if I had more of the stew sauce on the rice it would have made a bigger difference but I didn't have a lot on my plate. Over all the places good and I would love to go back again and try something new.
