I saw this place on a list of 'Yelp's best empanadas by state' so I added it to my list of places to try. As this is Latinx heritage month, seems like a perfect time to finally check them out. This is a tiny little store front. Most of the building is taken up by kitchen and storage. There are 2 two-tops and 1 four-top table for dining-in. Tables are very nice and the area was clean. An open kitchen over looks the dining area. A cashier stand, where you order, is to the left of the entrance. Menu boards are located on the wall above the open kitchen. A cooler across from the cashier holds bottled soda, water and tea. The cashier was super personable and answered a couple of silly questions from me. (I always have questions. So many questions!) I had to try the empanadas of course and they offer several varieties. My SO got himself a pepperoni pizza. We both grabbed bottled soda. We had an opportunity to chat a little with the cook too who is also very nice. A parton who is clearly known to the staff came in and had a long, friendly chat with staff while we ate. Just before we left some high school students came in. This is absolutely a neighborhood spot. The pastry on my empanada is very good. Flakey, thin, holds together well. I would have preferred less pastry for the amount of filling. Most bites were air. The ground beef was seasoned well enough but I think I was looking for more spice and maybe a little heat. Still, it was enjoyable. The vegetable empanada was bell peppers, onions and mushrooms with a little bit of cheese. Same result. I was looking for more filling, spice and heat. Don't get me wrong. They are good. I did enjoy them. And for all I know, this is the way abuela makes them. Everyone has their own preferences. This is just me. Take it as you will. My SO enjoyed his pizza. That's all I got from him. Sorry I can't elaborate. This is a small store front right off a neighborhood. On street parking is free. You may have to walk a bit from your parking spot, but as mentioned, this is really a neighborhood spot the locals frequent. There does not appear to be a public restroom inside. I didn't ask. WOW...is all I can say. My Husband and I ordered the Blanco Chicken Pizza and Pork Tostones last night--it was delicious. The food was so amazing that we are planning on having Eliu's for dinner again tonight. Customer service was excellent, the employee who helped us was very kind and helpful. The restaurant itself is very small, with about three small tables, so I'd say carry-out is the best option. Nevertheless, please try out Eliu's if you're looking for a new pizza place!!! Our first time there, and we did pick up and our order was ready in 20 mins! We got the margherita puzza which was good, sauce was a little salty but my bf loved it. The loaded tostones was bigger than I expected, it was truly loaded with chicken. It's optional to get lettuce and onion on top but the crunch and freshness really helps. Wish they put more sauce, other than that it was delicious. Very little parking since it's all street and there's only one side. This was my first time ordering the woman who took the order on the phone was very polite very nice however they said up to 35 minutes for my food and ended up taking over an hour, which is OK except for the Driver almost forgot my drink in the car which this would all be no big deal if the food tasted good however the food was completely nasty. I paid $40 for a chicken Parm in a kids meal a piece of cheesecake and a small drink the chicken Parm was OK couldn't barely finish it. It was a lot of food, but I'd rather have less food and better quality. The kids meal was probably the best thing out of the whole thing I got so excited for the cheesecake because it was a huge piece. However, it was the nastiest thing I've ever tasted. The crust was literally the same texture as the cheesecake not even a crust and the taste of the cheesecake almost made me throw up. I threw it in the garbage. We understand that weekends are busy and the kitchen gets backed up, however after our first inquiry to an employee "S****" we were "assured" that the order was coming though she didn't check on it. 45 minutes into the order, we made another inquiry and were told by the same person that the order would come and would be brought to our table. The third time going up, 50 min into the order, we asked for our money back and received an eye roll and said, "I will go get the manager". Five minutes later, we had our food. Ok, first off, I came to try the empanadas as I had just moved from Boston to Tewksbury and even in the city I never really loved any of the empanadas there...my favorite is Empanada Mama in NYC. Anyway, I ordered the beef and upon suggestion of the owner or manager-a very nice guy I might add-I tried one called the Tripleta - pork, ham, beef, mozzarella cheese, ​and special sauce and WOW it is amazing! The beef was also solid...maybe 4/5. To emphasize how good this was, I returned about 2 hours later to bring some home to my girlfriend and to try their pizza which people were raving about. I concur, the pizza is very good. Light crust, great cheese, all around this place is one of my new spots. BTW this is right across from the park AND there are table set up right outside but not on Fletcher St. I'm still learning the area, and I know Lowell has a lot of diverse restaurants, but this is def going to be a staple of ours when we visit and need a quick snack! read more

Had the Tostones with chicken. While I may had not be a big fan of the seasoning, the chicken was cooked well. The Tostones which was made from deep fried plantain was slightly sweet and savory at the same time. The big hit with me was the special sauce. It was both sweet and tangy. I am not really a big meat eater, but the pork is so tender and flavorful (and I am personally a fan of the sauce) and the crunch of the tostones--it's an awesome combination. I grew up in the area, and didn't realize that Eliu's opened shop since I moved back a few years ago, but I am really glad I had the chance to try it. Totally different than what I expected! This place is AUTHENTIC! Being that its so close to UML and pretty inexpensive I thought it would be divey and more like a pizza place, but man was I wrong. I ordered online pork tostones, a tripleta empanada, and a small side of onion rings all for around $10. I go to pick it up and the place is alive with energy! Between the incredible smells and lively salsa playing, I was pleasantly surprised! My food was quick and when I got home (about a 10 minute drive) everything was still crispy and fresh. The tostones are no joke! They are thick and fried perfectly and the pernil on top was moist and flavorful! The tripleta empanada tasted like my grandmother's and you don't get more authentic than grandmas! All in all I will definitely be heading back...especially to try one of their chorizo dishes! read more

They are consistent and good. Delivery is reliable and order accuracy is great so far. Most of their hot sandwiches are pressed so be sure that you're aware of that before you order. The tostones are amazing and the empanadas are really good although I find some flavors yummy other than others. I like their Pizza but I prefer Greek variety Pizza so it wasn't my favorite. But there was nothing wrong with it it was very good. I find a lot of the beef whether it's in the empanadas are the sandwiches to be a little less flavorful than their pork. I was already elbows deep in the chicken Parm and digesting the empanada before it dawned on me. The delivery was prompt and the delivery guy was mad cool. Respected the covid boundaries "new normal". The order address tool on yelp did not allow me to put in a unit number. But that isn't their fault. I don't think. The chicken parm sandwich was good. Definitely had a good amount of mozzarella on it. When I pull it apart it looked like a commercial. The flyover profile was nothing to write home about. But it was tasty dispute the chicken being a bit over-baked. All in all I would order this item again. the tripleate empanada (i think that's spelled incorrectly) was very good. Nice flavor profile and a good amount of crunch. For dessert I got the Apple cinnamon empanada. Definitely hit the sweet tooth right. It reminded me of the old school McDonald's apple pie with the bubbly fried crust (you youngins won't know nuffin about that) this is definitely on my reorder list. I am a regular here and it is always a great atmosphere. even when they are very understaffed and the owner is behind the counter cooking orders , he always takes the time to great each customer that walks in! The owner is the sweetest guy ever! The employees are also super nice. i usually get the same order every week but today i saw they had new flavor empanadas!! Tried all three new ones, they are filled with Buffalo chicken, pastelon, and steak and cheese! By far the best empanadas I've ever had.
