Went there last week to meet a friend for lunch. The place was busy with lots of people there on their lunch breaks from work, it was sunny & super pleasant. Got the Caesar Salad w/grilled chicken & it was fresh and great. The staff was efficient and very nice. Recommend it 100%! read more

Stopped in for takeout- granted in between lunch and dinner - 3:30. Ordered chicken parm with ziti. The chicken was burnt and way overcooked plus over breaded. The pasta had no flavor because the red sauce didn't stick to it at all. Extremely disappointing. read more

So I was looking for the "Chicken on the Road" food truck in Billerica and was unsuccessful. I headed up Rt 3A to find another place for lunch and stumbled upon Stomboli's Express. Very pleasantly surprised! Pasta, pizza, calzones- yes please! I spied the wood fired pizza oven (ok not wood fired but same concept) which I really like. Ordered at the counter and I got the lunch special chicken parm with fuzilli pasta. I was supposed to get a # from the cashier but didn't so there was a mix up when my food was ready and I had to wait double. Bread came with my meal with soft butter. EVOO was on the tables. Dish was very food and a generous portion seasoned well. 2 big chicken breasts covered with melted cheese on top of the pasta. Sauce was fresh and had some nice tomato chunks. Really nice place for some quick fresh Italian. The only neg is that the food was served on a cheap plastic plate and plastic silverware. Real plates and cutlery would have been nice. read more

I've been ordering from this place for many years and have always been satisfied! So disappointed tonight..mushy unseasoned pasta and dreadfully tasteless chicken! Steak n cheese was bland and unseasoned as well! The Cesar dressing needs some seasoning & garlic (it used to be my fave!) I ordered a sub and a calzone. I put in the instructions I wanted the sub toasted. The restaurant called to confirm the order, and I once again confirmed I wanted the sub toasted. When it showed up untoasted, I called the restaurant and the manager argued with me that the sub was toasted but the heat and humidity might have made it appear untoasted. Then they claimed they used a different oven than the pizza oven. They refused to say they made a mistake. Just own your mistake. As you can see in the picture this sub never saw an oven. read more

We came here hoping for a great Italian meal. Specifically some good pizza. In every small town in New England, there's the local pizza place where everyone comes after a little league game, or when Mom doesn't want to cook, or just to get together on a Friday night. Stromboli's is that type of place. It's not gourmet. It's not better than one you would find in the North End, or East Boston. It's just okay pizza. The owner tries very hard to please, and he seems to care what you think of his restaurant. So, I'll leave it at that. read more

Very unfortunate I write this review . 2 calzones -small, lacked cheese ,sauce and flavor. No taste. 2 pasta dishes lacked sauce and flavor / pasta was good I added my own to pasta sauce unfortunately Salad / wilted leaves / on top was a mounted of pressed together meat and cheese with a slice of onion and green pepper stuck to it and the top lid Focaccia bread was very good If you read my reviews I give 5 stars Unfortunately I was told by co workers not to go that something is going on food and taste quality wise. Should have listened ! Sorry for the 2 stars but that's what Yelp is for to say how good and experience was. Stopped here for lunch today haven't been in a while due to the virus and being in Maine. Had the chicken piccata with pasta, Also ordered a spinach salad to go.. This was dinner for my husband and myself. The dinner portion was perfect for us, with the salad. They also gave us plenty of bread about six pieces. Definitely order this again. They also have a great set up outside with overhead tents. I would definitely recommend this place for either dining in or outside seating. read more

I've just found my new favorite Italian in the Merrimack Valley! This is a gourmet Italian restaurant disguised as a take out spot with extra tables. Everything from the bread, to the pasta, to the sauce are all done with attention to great mouth watering flavor and textures. The dinner portions are large enough for at least two, if not a family of four, which means it's also an incredible deal with most pasta dinners coming in around $11. I was more than happy to have left overs of the Pasta Milano. Our meals took about 12 minutes on a Sunday evening- so its not fast-food, but brick oven baking is worth the wait. Call ahead and take out if you're in a hurry. Ambiance isn't anything to look at and you'll be working with foam plates and plastic utensils, but if you're dining in you can refill your own fountain drinks and without servers, you save on tips. The quality, flavor, and value are so good- I can forgive everything else. read more

So my family and I have frequented this place for takeout and have had good luck. However about 2 weeks ago we tried ordering on a Monday night at 8:15. When we called the woman on the phone said she'd have to check to see if she could take our order as they were closing?! She got back on the phone and said they couldn't take our order as they were closing "soon". They close at 9 and as i said it was 8:15.. I've worked in the restaurant business and I understand closing early but to not even warn me or provide an explanation? Heard positive things about this place but the food was disappointing. Completely raw dough in the calzone. There were pasta sides on each of the sandwiches which was not said on the menu, nice approach but it would have been nice to see what we were eating. The chicken parm was the blackest, driest chicken ever encountered. There were full on noodles that weren't cooked whatsoever. The only reason it gets two stars is because the buffalo chicken pizza is great with no onions (onions with buffalo chicken is disrespectful) and the Italian melt sandwhich was also good. read more

Amazing food for super price! Maybe place looks simple, but you definitely won't be disappointed with the food and variety of dishes offered. Always fresh and prepared in front of you food, has authentic Italian taste. Owner is Italian and invented a lot of his dishes based on his family recipes. My favorite is Chicken Caruso. I was craving Italian food and ordered from here. My first plate came with overcooked pasta and no sauce. I then complained and they brought me overcooked pasta with WAY too much sauce. The consistency of their pizzas I mentioned in my original review has disappeared over the last year. Seems to depend on who's making the pizza. Very disappointing. Will continue to order from here for pizza and roll the dice since I haven't found a better brick oven pizza place in town. Entrees continue to be really good and the people are still nice however. Good food, huge, free parking lot. It's Billerica that's what you get. The food was good but not great. Again it's Billerica and not the North end or moms. It should be a 4 with a 2 on delivery but that's not an option. It's reliable and tasty Italian option in Billerica. Go there and you will be pleased. Take out isn't recommended. read more

I meant to give it 3 stars not 2! We've been going to Stromboli's for years. Has been my favorite pizza in Billerica/Wilmington. Historically, the cheese was heavy so I always ask for light cheese, not always successfully, but it's still good. My wife recently ordered eggplant Parmesan which was doused in cheese and extremely soggy. Tonight's "light cheese" pizzas had virtually no cheese, overdosed on sauce and piled with onions. I used to love Stromboli's as a kid. Now at 24 years old I decided to order delivery and retry the fettuccine alfredo after all these years. Excellent and just how I remember it. It's a simple recipe but very good. Soup however, terrible terrible terrible. I've never had soup so bad in my entire life. I tried both the minestrone and the pasta fagioli and they were both inedible. Tasted like it's been frozen for months and reheated, very thick and flavorless- and I'm not a picky eater. I got a large grilled chicken Caesar salad, no cheese, with Italian dressing and chicken on the side. The dressing and salad were very good but the salad should have been bigger, also came with a big piece of bread. The chicken not so much, it was so bland. Also got mozzarella sticks which were good but marinara wasn't great. My sister got Chicken Calabrese. Its suppose to be sautéed in garlic, wine, butter and topped with pecorino Romano and it didn't taste like it had any of this on it. This was very very bland making it inedible read more

The tots (which I'll give you, are a slightly more acceptable item to be out of a bag) were so drenched in truffle oil that they were greasy and overpowered by artificial truffle flavor. I also got a piece of cake. How bad does cake have to be for you to toss it after one bite? Pretty stinking bad... it had a weird chemical taste. I feel disrespected as a diner that this market eatery thinks people don't taste the difference between industrial food company food and the real, freshly made thing.

And I've eaten at probably over 250+ restaurants in my adult life. Why was it so bad? The salami on the antipasto salad was so rancid, my poor wife almost immediately vomited when she took a bite. And I mean she instantaneously gagged audibly and could barely maintain her composure. She felt embarrassed but when I smelled the salami I completely understood why she would react that way. It smelled like it was bad a week prior. We told the waitress, who took the food back. The kitchen staff had informed her they checked the salami and it was fine. My wife works in food service and said this salami was rancid. I have no such experience and could tell by scent and sight that this was badly spoiled. It was yellowish in some areas. I wanted to leave then, even though we had an entree on the way. I took one look around at the dated, cheap decor, the nasty blinds caked with dust and food particles, and thought to myself: this is one of those places from Kitchen Nightmares, where Gordon Ramsay would pop out, shut the place down, then go stick is hand in some slop in the back. A supervisor comes out and explains that they aren't saying we are wrong, but that the salami they checked was okay. That the portion we received might have been spoiled, but they assure me the rest isn't. C'mon. If the kitchen staff couldn't admit or tell this was revolting, then what the hell else were they going to serve me? I soon found out. We got the chicken francaise which is a cutlet dredged in egg and tossed in flour. It should be like a pan-seared cutlet with a slight coating. No, what we were served was a chicken cutlet inside an omelette. Swear to god. There was visible egg scramble layered on top and the bottom of the chicken. I was absolutely starving so I had a couple of bites. I commented on how it was like an omelette and my wife responded "that's what it is like!" And then commented on the egg smell. This was the grossest texture you could imagine. Our waitress had just come over to ask how our food was. We asked her to take it away and said it was the worst meal of our lives. I felt terrible for her. She felt so bad and was clearly nervous. We told her not to be sorry repeatedly as it wasn't her fault. It was the kitchen. They comped all the food, which we didn't really eat, but made us pay for our cocktails. Fine. Although considering the fact they ruined our night and we left hungry, they really should have comped those too. It was that bad. I had 7:45PM reservations. As I type this it is 9:14PM. I ordered DoorDash over 15 mins ago as you can see by the pics I have provided. All of this tonight that happened is true and I sincerely hope people read this and think twice about going there. I read another review that said it was the best food of their life. I joked that's because they died immediately after. This food was disgusting, low quality, and the place is a dump.

The sauce had no spices rather bland and the side meatball was very dense, adding a panade would make the meatballs lighter. The side homemade tagliatelle that I paid an extra $5 for was too firm and chewy. Overall Not worth a drive down from NH from a recommendation from PG but to meetup with friends it was a pleasant dinner.

Another dude took the slice, applied pepperoni discs, and popped it into the oven. The nice part is that the pepperoni was shingled over the entire slice in overlapping fashion. I can't say it saved the slice, but it mitigated the dryness that the oven definitely couldn't eliminate. In fairness, I should say that the bottom of the slice had a nice oven flavor. But make no mistake, this was sustenance, not enjoyment. Old, dry sustenance.

First off, the Lotus Rangoon--crispy, creamy, and made with actual crab. Not the "crab-ish flavored mystery filling". Real crab. Did you hear me ?? Real crab. And this amazing dipping sauce. The Vietnamese pork chop showed up perfectly seared, tender, and packed with flavor, served with fragrant jasmine rice and veggies. Delish!!! When I say huge, I mean New England snowstorm eat for days huge. Crispy, perfectly cooked, sitting ontop of angel hair pasta with crusty bread on the side. We also tried the chicken and eggplant parm combo, which could easily feed a small family. Thin, crispy cutlets, perfectly breaded eggplant, marinara, melted mozzarella...just ridiculous in the best way. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are enormous, and the staff is genuinely warm and welcoming. So yes, you should absolutely try this place.

The lighting was good however the wait staff were playing around and on their phones in front of the diners which takes away from the elegance of the experience.
