Absolutely obsessed with Harbor Burger Shack. I think this is my fifth time coming back and it somehow gets better every time. The chili dog is SO good and the chili itself deserves its own fan club honestly. Everything tastes fresh, messy in the best way, and exactly what you want from a retro burger spot. The vibe is half the fun too -- I swear they added even more games since the last time I came. It feels like a hidden little retro hangout where you can eat comfort food and actually have fun while you're there. Definitely one of those places that becomes a regular spot fast. Total hit every single time. read more

Harbor Burger Shack is one of our favorite places to grab a burger. We love a good order at the counter type restaurant! There's plenty of seating. Expect a fun , bright and modern atmosphere with a slight 50s diner twist ! You can order at the counter with a person or order and customize on the iPad. The burgers are a great size and you can choose from all types of toppings ! They serve beer and wine too ! Can't wait to go back !! read more

Harbor Burger Shack - Burgers Near Me - Kittery, Maine

Food was below average. Haddock sandwich was soggy and bland. Came with no tartar sauce and they don't have any. Burgers were meh. Everything is à la carte making a burger, fries, and drink about $20 which in my opinion is overrated for what you get. Positive side, hot dog was decent. Lastly, the staff is apathetic. Hard pass. Will not come again! read more

Been by here several times decided to try. Needless to say we won't be back. It was just EH. Burger was pretty tasteless the onion rings weren't cooked The restaurant was clean read more

The burgers were very tasty and filling! The service was quick and efficient; I was overall very please and there was lots of seating available. Only complaint is fries were a bit bland, but that probably my fault for ordering plain fries with so many other options! read more

We had such a great experience at Harbor Burger Shack in Kittery. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming. The space inside was roomy with plenty of seating, and the décor has such a cool vibe. Our young boys loved the arcade area, which was the perfect way to keep them entertained while we waited for our food. The food was really good. The sweet potato tater tots were a standout, the fries were spot on, the burger was great, hot dog was delicious, and the milkshakes were to die for. On top of all that, the staff was incredibly friendly and made the whole visit even better. read more

To be honest, I am shocked to see so many 5-star reviews of this place. I'm only giving it two starts because our kids like the little arcade.. but the food is SO overpriced and underwhelming. A friggin milkshake is over 10 dollars BEFORE tax. What??? Burger patties are wicked thin, fries are just some plain, frozen crap and the shake had a bizarre cookie coating around the top. Not the edge/rim, the whole like, 1/4 top of the cup was coated in crumbs.. which got everywhere and made it inedible and impossible to put in a cup holder if you wanted to bring it home with you. Just so weird. It's also just gross in there in general. To be honest, all of that would be forgivable if the staff were at least the slightest bit nice. They are all so incredibly rude. They are young and I get that Covid ruined their formidable socialization years, but it's actually crazy how awful they are. Can't even get them to crack a smile or a "thank you". Sorry, not to be a boomer, but if I'm spending 55 bucks on two burgers some fries and a shake, I'd like some good customer service. Definitely save your money. There are lots of other options in the area. read more

Way overpriced for what you get. I ordered a burger and asked if it came with fries. No? That's fine! I'll take an order of curly fries. Okay... I was offered a drink. I accepted and was given a small cup. I think they only have small cups. If there were other sizes it wasn't offered. The coke machine was out of ice. Conveniently located next to the bathrooms that reeked. Honestly stayed away and it kinda grossed me out. The vibe they're going for is classic, but the execution seems lazy. What good is a monopoly board game doing on display if it's not meant to be played? Idk just odd. All these games just sitting on a shelf still in the wrapping. The patty on the burger was so thin. I have to admit the burger was decent, but not at the price. Idk it's a good thing I was there with a gift card because if I had spent money I would have left so defeated. Find a five guys instead. read more

Love this place we just discovered. They told us they opened July 2924 but we missed it last year. Looks like a retro diner. So cute. Mini arcade in a small area. Kids were loving it. Burgers are awesome and you can build your own with whatever you fancy. I had mine with pastrami, Swiss, avocado and it was delish. We travel through Kittery at least once a year and will be back. Yummy. read more

Cute burger shack with a 50's vibe that serves up some pretty darned good burgers and fries. We came away pleased. Inside you order at the counter and take a seat at checkerboard black and white tables with bright yellow benchers. Lots of neon! Everything is spaced and easy to get around when your ordered is called. And it's good for kids, too, no noise worries. We wanted our burgers with some specific ingredients (extra tomatoes, no sauce, lots of pickles, etc.) and the staff got everything right. The fries were crispy and just about salty enough for us. They've got fried and grilled chicken, too, and an assortment of other items for no-burger fans and for the young 'uns. . The burgers aren't cheap, but we found them much preferable to fast-food burgers. read more

Great burgers at a great price. Chicken sandwich was decent; fried pickles were too heavily breaded and needed a zesty dipping sauce. Wait time was long but we'll be back! read more

Food was great. We ordered The Classic Burgers and Chili Cheese Fries. More than enough food for 2. Great location, plenty of parking. Really cute inside. Video games from the past were pretty cool! Staff was fairly new, service was a little slow. All in all a great experience! read more

Harbor Burger Shack - Chili Cheese Fries - Burgers Near Me - Kittery, Maine

I usually have a good experience with them, but this time was disappointing. The soda machine was not producing ice and i had to ask for some behind the counter. Then the soda I got from the machine was completely flat, so I asked for one of the sealed sodas from the fridge. That soda, sadly, was also flat. On top of that my usually delicious pickle chips were over salted. The burger was as good as usual though! Hopefully next time I go it will be better. read more

You need to up your game big time! The burger was ok. The bun was stale, tomato was mush and lettuce was slimey. Fries were cold. The manager should be checking everything before opening. Clearly that did not happen read more

Harbor Burger Shack - Huge disappointment - Burgers Near Me - Kittery, Maine

The best part was LUIS, who took our order, kindly washed out my water bottle and led me to the machine to get fresh water. What a kind & thoughtful gentleman. It is possible to teach good service but LUIS went above & beyond, with care, concern & a smile. I can picture him being manager some day! Food was very good. Place was clean. Prices were fair considering the tourist season. Harbor Burger Shack is unassuming on the outside, sets back from the road, old fire truck outside, but all smiles inside! Next time we're up from Florida, we'll stop here again. Luis might not be there because that young man's character will take him far! You go, LUIS! (C & S Hustus, Avon Park, FL) read more

It was fine. Burger was fine. Bun was meh. More bun than meat. Toppings were scant. A bit pricey for the small portions. Just meh.

Food was delish, service wasn't what I thought it was going to be. You go up to a counter and place your order. You go up to a counter pick up your order. It's really a self service procedure. There really isn't any remarkable ambiance but it's a very good place to eat. Food is good. Prices are good. Go there if you want the best burgers, fries and onion rings! read more

I ordered a double patty burger in a lettuce bun and a side of fries via doordash. I'm not sure what happened but there didn't seem to be enough lettuce wrapped around the patties to be considered a lettuce bun or the patties were extremely hot and oily and wilted the pieces of lettuce surrounding the patties. Either way I was disappointed with how it looked and how it tasted. The patties were also thin and overdone. Perhaps their burgers are better experienced in house? The highlight of this meal were their fries. They were crispy with the right amount of salt. I thoroughly enjoyed their fries. Overall, I don't think I'll be ordering again. read more

This is such a cute little burger spot! Not only was the interior really cute, but our food was great as well. I got the Aye Aye Smokehouse bacon burger and it was delicious. The flavors worked well together and the burger was nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly. The fries were hot and crispy. I really like the sweet potato tots as well! Everything was great and if I'm in the area again I'd stop by! read more

Let me start up by saying we never go out to restaurants anymore. Because my toddler is a handful. This place was perfect for an energetic little boy. Also great food! I got south of the Harbor burger with avocados and jalapeños with a gluten free bun, and I got my son the basic burger with cheese tomato and a lettuce....delicious!!! Their fries were also scrumptious and hot out of the fryer. Also very very affordable prices. The vibe of the place was really nice with the yellow benches, and black and white Checkerboard tables that gave it a 50s burger joint vibe. The most interesting thing about this place and gave it a special advantage are the amazing staff. They were all friendly and lovely people . We interacted with three staff members, and each one was nicer than the other. And the person taking the order was really attentive. My son was just running around and staff were just interacting with him and waving at him . So he really had a good time. Wish I took pictures. I gulped down the burger because it was really good,...and the presentation was good as well... the wrapping was in this aluminum foil style wrap, which also gives it a specific retro vibe. Love it! read more

The food was excellent, but everything else was highly disappointing. We paid through the self-service kiosk, which did not print a ticket and only sent the receipt by email. After an unreasonable wait, they asked us for a ticket even though they already had our order. To make matters worse, we were singled out at pickup while other customers who used the same system were not asked at all. The attitude of the staff made the experience feel uncomfortable and unnecessary. Great food cannot compensate for such poor service and an inconsistent process. We will not be returning. read more

The food was delicious, the service was OK. Our biggest disappointing was the ads that said there were retro video games. We got here and only 2 of the 13 games worked, the rest had "out of order" signs. I would equate it to more of a "5 Guys" than a "FunSpot." read more

What a great spot to hit for lunch while shopping at the outlets. Inside is clean and bright. Servers are friendly and helpful. Food was quick, hot and fresh. Plenty of seating. Also, can't beat the prices. Will definitely visit again. read more

Incredibly flavorful burger , crispy fries & delicious drinks ! I'm so sad that this spot opened a month before I move hours away, it has such a fun retro vibe & the food is really tasty & not overpriced. They have a selection of 4 juices that are tasty , especially the purple mixed one (can't recall the 3 flavors but try it !) It was a pretty busy weekend lunch and the food still was quick , will definitely be going back one last time before moving. The milkshakes also look super tasty but I was too full to try one read more

When you go to Kittery outlet malls there really are not many places to have lunch, well now there's a burger shop! It is order at the counter and seat yourself. I was really hoping it would be quick, but we waited 20 mins for our burger order. The burgers were smash burger style. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and it was good. Fries were typical burger place fries. I think it's a little expensive but hey at least we have another choice when shopping in Kittery. read more

Gave the Harbor Burger Shack a try recently and I have to say, it could be one if not the best burger I have ever had in my life! I am no stranger to burgers, but finding a good one can be harder than you think. We all have our own preferences when it comes to burgers, but whatever they are doing keep it up! Crinkile fries were perfect and you can tell they are cooked in clean oil. The overall place is very clean and the nostalgic theme brings you back to better times. It helps that the staff was super freindly as well. We will be back! A++++++++ read more

Stopped in to visit family, decided to have a shake. Wow!! It was sooo sooo good!!! Everyone here loved their food!! I will be back!!

Have been wanting to try this place since it opened. Finally got a chance recently and I was not disappointed! I placed my order online. It said it would take a half hour but I wanted to check out the inside, so when I got there, I went in and liked the atmosphere right away. Very much family friendly, fun and open. You can watch the cooks make your meals. They also offer a variety of Maine made items. I picked up some pickled beets and dill pickles while I waited. My order was ready in 15 minutes and got it home without sneaking anything. I ordered the South of the Border burger (with avocado and jalapeno sauce on it), got my husband the basic burger with bacon and cheese and it came with their own Harbor Sauce. Both were delicious! The fried pickles were perfect, not too crisp and not mushy. The only thing they forgot was a side of Harbor Sauce for the fried pickles. So I probably would have given them 4.5 stars, but hey, I'm not going to quibble over 50 cents. Try it - I think you will like it. read more

The burgers are good. Fresh and more than enough thickness, as far as all of us were concerned. (6 people) The shakes are so thick, you need a spoon. They're really good. Very friendly staff. Fries are crinkle cut and tasty. The area is spacious and retro. It was nice! On a side note, take the two negative reviews before my review with a grain of salt. There are major contradictions to some of the content. How can a brand new table smell like mildew? The burgers were far from being previously frozen. Sounds like the two one-star reviewers have an agenda. I would not be surprised if they didn't go there at all. read more

Decided to give this place a try since we live nearby and it is brand new. The atmosphere is nice and clean and spacious and fun decor/ theme. However, it was a huge disappointment. The food quality is really subpar, especially for the price. Wasted $30 for two people and I didn't even get any fries. One chicken sandwich, one burger one fries and two drinks. I had the "farm fresh" chicken sandwich and it was very thin and greasy and the tomato on it was the ends of a tomato you'd throw away.. there was one shriveled tiny pickle and a half.. not even a piece of lettuce on my chicken sandwich. Misleading menu names make the food sound so much better than it is. Husbands bacon burger was super thin and he said it was "ok". The fries looked like cheap quality frozen French fries. Sorry but the bad reviews are right (minus someone saying moldy tables that's just not possible, it's brand new). This food is dollar menu quality at best, I wish we could get our money back. read more
