Good seating in shade, ample parking, close to store. Downside, lobster roll ($18+) served on a hotdog bun.

The best Lobster Roll on this trip to Maine! It has a large tent on the tent for dining and is the basic menu with seafood and fries.

The french fries alone are why I love the place. They taste like they chopped a potato right there and tossed it into the frier. I'm sick of places that use the gross coated fries, Gilley's thankfully does not do that! It's a small little diner that's been around forever with only a few parking spots (like three or four) in a busy area of Portsmouth. The hours are a little wacky but it's always worth it. The fried egg and cheese and the grilled cheese are made about as perfectly as one could hope. Very greasy spoon diner type of grub. Reading some of the one star reviews, they seem to come from disgruntled people who have a weird agenda who also don't tip and are proud to mention it in their review... and this is the only place they've reviewed? Ignore them and just know the food is good. Only downside - It is cramped inside the little space. There are only a few (six?) stools inside - which is fine if the place isn't busy. I'd more recommend getting the food to go.

I think it is good after a night out kind of food, if you get what I mean. Simple, quick, and greasy. Now, I will say - I went with a large group of people one night after going on the harbor cruise and there was only one guy working. That man was the order taker, cashier, and cook, and everything else in between; he did a great job as far as handling the orders and getting the food cooked and out the door quickly, so kudos to him. Menu consists of burgers, hot dogs, fries, and some miscellaneous other items - again, very simple. Our group got a mixture of cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and fries - some "cheesy", others regular. I got a cheeseburger and regular fries. It was mediocre. Like I said, probably good after a night out food but for me, I it wasn't great.

The burger was one of the juiciest most wonderful burger I've ever had. The menu selection was very good, and I was put in a predicament where I didn't know what to order because everything looked so fantastic. The price was a little on the high side, but great for what you get. The ambience is nice inside, and they also have outdoor seating.

He has since reopened a new business in the same location he had a taco place. (Of course, more than just tacos.) I was really bummed when that closed, but so happy he reopened into something new. The burgers are top notch. They are really good quality. Everything is fresh and made to order. We had a couple of his "off the menu" burgers and they did not disappoint. We also had a burger from the regular menu. I saw a FB post recently stating he created a Mexican dish that was being offered that day. Seriously, take it day by day and never go in with an expectation of what you "think" you will be ordering. He's full of surprises and we have never been disappointed with any dishes at any of his many business locations.

We love trying chef's own creative creations and this is exactly what we found her at Lexie's. We both ordered the Cucumber Mint Lemonade to start which were perfectly delicious for the hot weather that I'm not used too! We both ordered the Green Lantern Beanie - Vegetarian that was recommended to us when we couldn't choose. They were delicious and I will definitely get it again. My DH also got the French Fries which were Hot & Fresh but not for my mandatory low sodium, however the Green Lantern met! We usually don't get the same item so we can each try out something new - yes, just like Michael J Fox in Family Ties! We laughed when we saw that episode! Our server AM S and all the others were great! The restaurant and rest room were very clean! It was amazing the countless to go orders constantly being picked up while we were there! I found them on Yelp, and highly rated, so that was enough for me !! Not a huge menu, but we easily found what we wanted. The burgers were on the slightly smallish side (compared to others I've had), but they were delicious, and with the accompanying fries for me and onion rings for him, we certainly didn't walk away hungry. The "classic" burgers that we ordered were well represented with the ingredients we like (beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle with some "hush" sauce - essentially thousand island dressing). We loved every bite !! We'd return here in a heartbeat, so if ever we're up in that area, we'll be getting those burgers again. Yummm.
