When I realized the Brooklyn Cafe was closer to my workplace than I thought, I had to try it. I ordered a falafel plate and a few rugelach to go. Everything was ready to go when arrived- quick and easy. Online ordering is always a plus. The restaurant is more spacious than I was anticipating and very clean. Let's start with the falafel plate: Delicious and fresh! The homemade pita was a winner. I truly hoped the hummus wouldn't disappoint because sometimes it just does and it was the whole dish's base. My concern was totally unfounded. As for the rugelach? Let me tell you, had I ordered in I would've ordered more than I did! The dough and sweetness was just right. The Brooklyn Cafe opened on Woodbury Avenue just off the Spaulding Tpk Exit 3 in Newington serving up kosher NY style foods including bagels, bagel sandwiches, baked goods, NY pretzels, 9" pizzas, coffee/espresso drinks, slushes and cooler drinks. Their soft opening was on June 30, 2024 and grand opening on July 7, 2024. This cafe offers a casual and inviting atmosphere which has a sea of hardwood flooring with table seating, seating along the wall and the counter with open food & drink prep area and display cases of baked goods. I stopped by The Brooklyn Cafe on their grand opening and the place was fairly busy. I took a look over of the selection of food before ordering. I ordered a Tuna Salad on an Everything Bagel ($6.99 plus tax), Veggie Pizza ($12.99 plus tax), Vanilla Rugelach ($1.49 plus tax), a Mushroom Boureka ($2.25 plus tax) and a Coffee Slushy ($4.99 plus tax), taken off the check since I spent more than $20. The cash total with tax was $23.72. My food was prepared to order and brought over to me. Tuna Salad Bagel sandwich had a nominal amount of dense tuna salad spread and diced tomatoes between a toasted Everything bagel, which was chewy and had a lot of seeds on the outside. The Veggie Pizza had a firm bread like crust topped with red sauce, melted cheese, fresh mushrooms & onions and a Russian dressing dipping sauce provided. The Rugelach (sweet) and Boureka with sesame seeds (savory) were firm filled pastries and pretty good with the frozen coffee slushy. The prices seem reasonable here for the sandwiches and baked goods, snack size, but lower prices here than another place (Bakey) that makes larger babkas and burekas in the Boston area. The staff was friendly checking up on patrons and I also bumped into another Elite Yelper. I have had a long streak of incognito Yelping (not counting organized Yelp events) until today, lol. I also bumped into another Yelper at a Shaw's in Milford three years ago, but I was not in Yelp mode and grocery shopping for the family. read more

I was surprised at how good the food was. We ordered the falafel plate and it was perfection and quite authentic. We tried some small side dishes as well as a pretzel, all excellent. There is plenty of seating inside as well as 4 outdoor tables. Everybody seemed friendly and we ended up chatting with a bunch of people from a diverse set of backgrounds. This place has a community feel and, from what I read, a portion of the proceeds goes to worthy charities. I learned of The Brooklyn Café through an article online, and I'm so happy I did! Today, I stopped there and had the best falafel pita ever! I didn't arrive until a couple of hours before they closed, so they were out of challah bread. I'm excited to go back for bagels, challah, and, of course, another falafel pita! read more

I'm from NY and have lived in NH for over a decade now without access to a good bagel... sorry to be a 'bagel snob' but none of them were quite right until I tried The Brooklyn Café! What a delight! Authentic Jewish style bagels right here on the seacoast! I got an everything bagel with egg salad, and my partner got double smoked lox on a poppy bagel. Both were delicious. They also had several delicious baked goods that we will come back for - potato knish, rugelach, and chocolate babka! Popped in for a bagel. We frequent Best Bagel in Seabrook and all other bagel places don't come close. Brooklyn's bagel, while thinner, was perfectly crisp and chewy and with the perfect amount of cream cheese. Even wrapped in crunchy wax paper. I would have to say eating this bagel ... I didn't want it to end. We also grabbed a cheese horseshoe (I think that's the name). Perfectly sweet cheese in pastry that made a massive mess all over me in the car, but was insanely, insanely delicious. I bought the last cinnamon babka that was on the counter just to have something to bring home. It was in a loaf pan and ... OH MY!!! Gooey with layers or pastry and ribbons of cinnamon. Wow. Delicious bagel but they only have plain cream cheese and claim it's because they're Kosher. I respect that but have been to plenty of Kosher delis in NYC that offer lots of flavored shmears so this was disappointing. read more

They have a limited menu but if you like falafel, you must try it! I have never had a falafel sandwich where the falafel and the pita were both so moist. Also nice fresh veggies in there including what tasted like homemade dill pickles. We'll definitely be back! read more

If you are shopping in Newington or heading through the NH Seacoast on I-95, stop at the (kosher) Brooklyn Cafe for bagels, pastries, falafel, drinks, etc. A pleasant dining area and friendly staff make this an excellent pit stop for rest and refueling. read more
