If you're looking to support a Black-owned business in Pasadena, now's your time to visit Bad Ash Bakes. I'm pretty sure this place has gone viral on social media, and yes, it's worth the hype. Bad Ash offers classic favorites like chocolate chip cookies and twists on classics like matcha cinnamon rolls and cornbread cookies. Their baked goods are delicious and I absolutely love that they're not too sweet. My mom said she would definitely order the cornbread blueberry loaf again. This place has limited seating, and the only downside is that it gets pretty warm in here. Idk if the AC wasn't working or if it was all the body heat because of how many people were there (it's a really popular spot).
I came here on a Thursday morning, at around 8:30am so that I would be able to get one of those viral cinnamon rolls I keep seeing on social media. Ashley was the cashier in charge: she was fast, efficient and kind. The gentleman manning the dispatching counter was also very professional and within minutes I was outside enjoying my cinnamon roll. The hype is real, they come out warm and they're super fresh. I grew up eating the cinnamon rolls from any Cinnabon location in any random mall, and I believe this one mimics the good points of that one a fair bit. It also has its own twist and particular flavor. I like that there's enough glazing to enjoy the cinnamon roll but not too much that it becomes overwhelming. 10/10. Highly recommended.
I've been dying to try out this spot ever since discovering Ashley when she would sell her cookies online / text to order. She's a true talent with exceptional presentation and her consistency is off the charts. With that being said, I was a little disappointed with the cookies. I ordered red velvet, matcha, and chocolate chip. Somehow the first two tasted almost the same. I appreciated that they weren't too sweet, as that is my preference.. however the designated cookie "flavor" was lacking. I did taste some cocoa from the red velvet but there wasn't even really a lingering after taste. For $4 a pop, I had expected some more punch. BUT.. I loved that the cookies looked almost identical - hence the consistency. They were super fresh and soft but still held their shape. The chocolate chip was a different story. The chocolate obviously came through and was identifiable. The cookies tasted like a brown butter base.. not sure if that's what is used, but that's kind of the flavor that came through for me. The matcha cinnamon roll was delightful, but leaned more towards the cinnamon side for sure. Despite the vibrant green color, the matcha flavor was fairly subtle. As a matcha and pastry lover, again, I expected more. For $8, it was a generous size. I ate it the following day and it was still fresh. I did heat it up for about 15 seconds just so it could be extra gooey and soft. I appreciated that it wasn't drenched in frosting! For it being Fourth of July, the staff was very focused and friendly. They have their system down and handled the crowd well. I was maybe one of the first 15 people there that morning and I observed them to be quite efficient - getting customers in and out within a few mins. I didn't order any drinks because they seemed pretty pricy to me ($8.3 for a latte and $11 for a double matcha), but I did notice the bar staff seemed a little behind on drinks. Nothing really stood out to me after looking at other peoples drinks, but I'm sure they're decent. They did look pretty small. There's no designated lot, so you should plan to park on the street.. there are various parking streets available. It's not big inside --- there's a couch that's split into about 3 small sections, a tiny wooden bar at the window with 2 seats, and then 2 sets of outdoor tables. I would visit again, but I'd probably try the regular cinnamon roll or a tres leches. Side note: I love how Ashley has never tried to conform to other people's styles -- she has amazing creations and is always looking to improve and offer seasonal items. I really admire her passion and skill. Her hard work does not go unnoticed! True bakery she has curated is absolutely stunning as well.
I've had Badash on my radar for quite a while, and now that they're open on Sundays, I finally got the chance to indulge in their cinnamon rolls. I arrived by 10am, and even then, the line was already spilling out the door, but it moved quickly. The space is cozy and intimate, yet they've managed to carve out a comfortable spot for a few to sit and savor their treats right there. I went for the classic cinnamon roll, no frills, just pure goodness. It was nice sized, soft, with just the right amount of sweetness for a balanced bite.
Stopped by on a Sunday around 9:30am, ordered around 9:50. Order at the cash register in the very inside, wait for your name to be called with your order. I agree with another reviewer upon first glance, it would probably be faster to have an employee dedicated to a customer as they make their selection, but I think the space and single register are limiting factors. Got the s'mores brownie ($7) and peach cinnamon roll ($11). Peach cinny didn't have a price tag in the case, but yeesh for $11 it better change my life! The roll was warm, and slathered in icing and had a generous amount of peaches. It tasted a little overproofed, but was still very pillow and soft. It did not change my life, was good but $11 (from the base price of ~$8) felt steep. S'mores brownie was good, very big slab of brownie topped with half an inch of torched marshmallow. If you can, I'd recommend heating this up in a toaster. It's a moist, and dense brownie, bits of chocolate chips throughout. The marshmallow is definitely a liability, sticking to anything it comes in contact with! Two couches, couple indoor and couple outdoor tables. Not a conducive space to stay a while in, especially since it's usually packed with customers. I saw the owner (Ashley aka @sobadash_) in the back with her employees, which is mad respect for her! I've followed her on TikTok for a few years, through her private chefing, bakery opening and on. Overall, the pricing reflects her brand and I respect it.
I have been wanting to try this place for months and I finally got to give it a try last Thursday. I went around 11 and found parking with no line. I was speechless. I thought it was the perfect day! I got the classic cinnamon roll and cookies(smores, toffee chocolate chip, chocolate chip, brown sugar, red velvet, peanut butter, and cornbread) The classic cinnamon roll was light and not too sweet. It wasn't anything spectacular. The cookies all were soft and had crispy edges which I love. The flavors were a little lacking. You had to really no what the cookies are to taste the flavors. The cookies weren't too sweet but wish there was a strong flavor in all of them. The peanut butter one was a bit stronger so the ones that were next to it all got a bit of the peanut butter taste too. If there is no line then I might try again but don't think I would wait for it.
I saw this place on TikTok and just had to try the s'mores brownie. I heard this place usually gets really busy but thankfully when I went it wasn't too bad. I got the s'mores brownie, banana bread, classic cinnamon roll, a toffee cookie, and a strawberry matcha. They were all so good and the s'mores brownie did not disappoint. It was delicious the first bite but it does get a little heavy if you keep eating it so maybe share it with someone. I will say the match was okay and I wouldn't get it again. The workers were nice and they got my order out really fast. I will definitely come back for the sweet treats especially the s'mores cookie next!
This is a 5 star bakery, no notes!! Finally got to try this place after driving by during their soft opening last year and seeing the longest line, in the rain, before driving off. Today (Saturday) I was prepared for the wait, but to my surprise the line moved quickly. Waited maybe 20 minutes in line, ordered, then before I could sit down my order was ready - including a very warm cinnamon roll! We ordered two specials - the banana pudding cheesecake and peach cobbler cinnamon roll. Also got a s'mores cookie from the regular menu. The banana pudding cheesecake... where do I start? This was my favorite thing. Silky smooth cheesecake, topped with the BEST banana pudding I've ever had (sorry grandma...). Those classic vanilla wafer cookies were on top, but the crust was something special. I don't know how they make it, but it was unique and delicious. The classic cinnamon roll was ranked one of the best in LA county by The Infatuation. I haven't tried many, but it's definitely amazing. It was served warmed with the peach cobbler topping. Both specials were super indulgent. The s'mores cookie is more balanced, perfectly sweetened in my opinion. A very, very thin cookie with crispy edges. I liked it. We paid about $20 for the two speciality items and the cookie. Worth every penny. The bakery is fairly small, with seating for maybe 6-8 inside and 4 outside. It's beautifully decorated. You'll be able to pass the entire display bedore ordering. Order at the register and they'll call you when it's ready. Again, the wait was short. If you order a drink, it'll be longer. We found street parking for 2 hours on the next block on Colorado. Parking right in front is 1 hour. Parking on Garfield is just 30 minutes.
Came here for the cinnamon rolls and they didn't disappoint! The banana pudding was surprisingly good too. Took a star off because the matcha was just okay for the price. But I did like the pastries. The place is pretty small and doesn't have a lot of tables. It's mainly street parking too.
I finally made it out to Pasadena. YAYYY :) There was a line out the door, but it moved fairly quickly. Parking: There is street parking available nearby, as well as several parking structures within walking distance. Parking was relatively convenient, although availability may vary depending on how busy the area is. Ordering Process: You don't place your order until you reach the cashier, which I thought was a bit unusual. I would have preferred a system where an employee boxes the items you select before you get to the register. The cashier would often have to call out to the staff which item signs needed to be removed as items sold out in real time. This made the process feel a bit disorganized. By the time I reached the cashier, several items that had been displayed when I first arrived were already sold out. It was disappointing to get excited about certain items only to find out they were no longer available when it was finally my turn to order. Food: I ended up getting a variety of cookies, and they were all delicious. I was especially hoping to try the banana bread, but unfortunately it sold out before I could order. Seating: Seating is very limited. While waiting in line, customers end up standing very close to those who are eating because there isn't much space inside. The layout can feel a bit crowded during busy times. Overall: Despite the crowded space and somewhat frustrating ordering process, the baked goods were excellent and worth the visit. I would definitely return, but I'd recommend arriving early if there's a specific item you want to try.
Visited LA on a business trip and this was the first place requested to stop it by my coworkers. After we landed, we literally went straight from the rental car place to here. I never heard of this place before, but apparently it is all the rave on TikTok. It's located in Pasadena and we parked on the street. We went on a Sunday so there wasn't really a line, but there was a steady flow of people coming in and out while we were there. Between the three of us, we did get a lot of stuff just to try we literally got about everything except for the refrigerated sweet and nobody got a cake slice but we did get a few of the loaves which were similar to me. I really like the concept of yesterday's cookies because they were still perfectly fine and at a discounted price I think $2 vs $4. Between the 3 of us we spent about $70 on 5 cookies, 2 cinnamon rolls , 1 brownie, 4 loaf slices. Everything was pretty tasty however, the lemon loaf had a strange aftertaste that we just couldn't put our finger on what it was so I would skip that one next time, but the cinnamon roll was really good and the toffee chocolate chip cookie was my favorite. The banana bread loaf also surprise me because I'm usually not a fan of bananas, but this one was good. The staff were OK and helpful if you asked a question, but they kinda seemed more into their conversations with each other versus engaging with people without it being prompted. It wasn't bad but it just didn't feel connected or like they were happy we were there because we actually sat inside to enjoy our pastries. Like my coworker had mentioned hey we came straight off the plane here and as we ate there wasn't any did y'all enjoy everything? Thank you for coming, which one was your favorite? How did you hear about us? It could be a generational thing or a regional thing (I'm from Tennessee) so I don't know. Definitely support and give them a try when you're in the area.
Finally got to try Badash Bakes! I think it's worth the hype but definitely a bit pricier than I would have liked. There were plenty of napkins and utensils for you to grab. I liked that I got a real paper bag instead of just the pastries handed loose to me. Very small space with only a table or two really to sit inside. It wasn't too crowded and the line was moderately long. There was enough pastries still available. I do wish there was more seating so you could get a drink and enjoy the sweets.
So so good! Finally got to try this spot and definitely will be coming back! The cookies are so thin and yummy! Not pictured is the cinnamon roll because it was gone so quick! I have been wanting to try this place for months! I have been a follower of Ashley on TikTok for years. I was so excited when I found out she opened her own bakery close by. She used to sell her cookies online and they always looked divine. I was lucky to find some street parking on a Saturday morning around 10am. The line wasn't that long when I arrived luckily but it was packed inside. The interior is beautiful, she designed it well. The display case of pastries was a dream. Lots of cookie flavors, brownies, loafs, cinnamon rolls, and cakes. I ordered a cinnamon roll, a s'mores brownies, a toffee cookie, a strawberry tres leches, banana pudding and red velvet cake and a strawberry matcha. The total was around $55. The baked goods were packed pretty fast and I waited an additional few minutes for my drink. You can taste the quality in her baking. She knows what she's doing. The cookie was great, great flavor and texture. The strawberry tres leches was my favorite!! I also loved the s'mores brownie, it was decadent and rich and I love the generous portion. The red velvet was also really good, nice flavor and moist. The cinnamon roll was also really good, so soft!! The banana pudding was my least favorite, a little too much vanilla wafer for my preference. The strawberry matcha was also not bad. Good matcha flavor and quality. Overall, it's been a while since I've had such a positive experience with mostly all items I've ordered at bakery. Amazing addition to Pasadena. Also great vibes inside. Small bakery located in the busy area of Pasadena (across from the Paseo shopping area). My visit was in early August and like a lot of other people that came here (the place was busy and had a line out the door!), I saw this place mentioned or posted somewhere on social media. I think they are noted for the cinnamon rolls, but they have other baked and dessert-y items for sale like banana pudding, cookies, and different cakes. I ended up ordering a slice of carrot cake, a container of tres leches cake, banana pudding, and of course, a cinnamon roll. I also got a strawberry matcha latte that was tasty. I gave the carrot cake to a friend, but got to try all the other items. They were all delicious and the cinnamon roll went really well with my favorite coffee I had at home. The banana pudding was very tasty and had that as a dessert with some other southern style food. All in all, just a great bakery with delicious food and friendly folks. My only note would be if it were possible to get orders while in line. I think the current operating style is that you go through the line and see the items, make a mental note, and you let them know what you want when you get to the register. But again, I'm not there for hours so the place is pretty small and maybe it's not possible. Or maybe they didn't expect it to be so crazy busy. Lots of pastries and sweets to select from including their popular banana pudding. gal behind the pastry counter was very friendly but the cashier was not all that friendly which sucks for a small shop to not have friendly employees - everyone else seemed very friendly. Believe the hype--these are some of the best cookies I've ever had. I've been eyeing Badash Bakes ever since I saw it blow up on Instagram, and I finally got to try it thanks to my brother-in-law who surprised us with a gift box of cookies. Let me just say--they lived up to every bit of the hype. We got to try a mix of flavors: Chocolate Chip S'mores Matcha White Chocolate Macadamia Peanut Butter Wow. Just wow. These are the kind of cookies I dream about--flat, moist, buttery, and rich. It's hard to pull off flat cookies without making them dry or crispy, but Badash nails the texture perfectly. Every bite was soft, gooey, and indulgent. I love that their cookies aren't overly sweet either--they strike a great balance, letting the butteriness and flavor shine through. If you like chewy, melt-in-your-mouth cookies, this is your place. I definitely plan to visit in person soon so I can try more of their other baked goods and drinks. Based on the cookies alone, I already know I'll be a repeat customer. read more
BadAsh Bakes has been in my saved "Places to Visit" on Yelp for a while now. I finally went on Friday and it was a decent experience. Parking can be a drag but I was able to squeeze into a spot infront of the store. When we walked in it was cozy but aesthetically pleasing. The cookies and pastries are set up for you to view and when you get to the front of the line you place your order. My order was half a dozen cookies + 1: (2) oatmeal - taste: 6/10 chocolate chip - taste: 8/10 *toffee - taste: 10/10 white chocolate macadamia - smaller than the rest and taste was: 5/10 *matcha - taste: 10/10 double chocolate - taste:6/10 The *toffee cookie and *matcha cookie were really good and the best to me. The cookies were thin which I wasn't expecting and I wanted to get a matcha roll and cinnamon roll but they had gnats flying around those -- which was upsetting. I came by near opening time on a Friday morning to have breakfast and stay and knit for a bit. I have seen Badash Bakes on social media so I decided to swing by. Parking in the area includes free parking by the city hall, metered street parking the same block and blocks nearby, as well as a paid parking structure across the street. Decor is cute and feels inviting, there is indoor and outdoor seating though there is not much so do not necessarily expect to find a place to sit. Baked goods are located in a glass display (with discounted $2 day old cookies on top!) but you have to order at the register in the back even if you just want pastries. Strawberry matcha (iced, 50% sweetness), 4/5, this was solid; definitely allows the matcha to shine, hints of strawberry in this. I opted for this vs the regular matcha latte per cashier recommendation that it would be less sweet. I will be back to try another one of their drinks! Matcha cinammon roll 4.5/5, soft and mushy like a cinnamon roll should be, definitely sweet like a cinnamon roll Very enjoyable though finding a definitive matcha flavor beyond green is challenging to discern Matcha cookie 3/5, a normal soft cookie, I did get the day old one but I couldn't tell that there was any aging in it whatsoever. matcha flavor is once again challenging to discern read more
Highly recommend!!! Small bakery with drinks, cookies, brownies, and pudding. There was a line, but it went quickly. Well-managed because the like begins at the display of all the sweet treats. Then you order at the register. Genius! I got the chocolate chip, cornbread and s'more cookies and s'more brownies. All delicious but my favorite was the s'more cookie. I finally had the chance to visit BadAsh Bakes, and it felt like a full-circle moment. I've been a fan since the owner was selling cookies through TikTok. I even ordered before the storefront existed so coming here in person was really special. When I stopped by around 3 p.m. on a Saturday, there was a line out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered the Double Matcha, which was a good, authentic matcha. I also ordered the Matcha Cinnamon Roll, honestly incredible. I'm still thinking about it! I also grabbed a Chocolate Chip Cookie that was just right, not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced. I wanted to try the Brown Sugar Cookie, but they were already sold out (a good sign, I guess!). The bakery itself is really cute, though it did feel a bit crowded inside. There was one piece of furniture that made traffic flow tricky. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend BadAsh Bakes! read more
10s across the board. The line was wrapped around the block on a Saturday AM, so keep that in mind because it is a popular location. The bakery was busy but our order was 100% on point. Well the lines have finally died down and I got to try Baker Ashley's baked goods. I walked away with the original cinnamon roll and matcha cinnamon roll, carrot cake, and several varieties of cookies, including toffee chocolate chip, s'mores, oatmeal raisin, and white chocolate macadamia. Of the two rolls, my family's preferred the original. Matcha over cinnamon filling isn't bad but I'm not a big enough matcha fan. The best part of the rolls is how soft and tender the bread is. They were moist and just probably the best cinnamon rolls I've ever tried. We also liked the cookies which were the thin, chewy variety. S'mores with a big melted blob of marshmallow was a hit but they were all good. The carrot cake was not my favorite mostly because I strongly missed having cream cheese frosting on it. Overhyped unfortunately. Got the cinnamon roll, s'mores cookie, corn cookie, and brown sugar cookie. Cinnamon roll 7/10 - best item of the bunch. A bit undercooked. Frosting reminiscent of cupcake frosting! Cookies 5.5/10 - All the cookies tasted similar despite the different names. Kind of a fail there :/ I had high hopes but can't recommend the cookies. I will say the texture is great and consistent throughout all the cookies! But they shouldn't all be consistent in flavor. The corn flavor, brown sugar flavor, and s'mores flavor was so mild in all of them. It felt like the same cookie base with a hint of flavor. Kind of like flavored sparkling water. Service: 5/10 The woman taking my order was not rude per se but her demeanor immediately dropped when she was interacting with me. Just weird energy. Coming from the service industry, I personally feel like hospitality goes a long way for someone going out of their way to patronize your business. read more

The main thing I wanted to get, I froze and forgot about... the cinnamon roll. I ended up getting the cinnamon roll latte though and it was very tasty. I did get the cookies but didn't eat them until like three days later so they may have been a bit stale. That's on me. I also got the brownie and I ate that the next day, but it was quite decadent. I split it with my mom and cousin. I got my mom the banana bread and she said it was very tasty. She said it was moist as it had huge pieces of bananas. Atmosphere is very busy but friendly at the same time. There was a line to get in but they move at a decent pace. Keep in mind, it's small in there and while there are spots to chill, I wouldn't recommend as it would give me claustrophobia. It's small in there so not the spot to set up with a laptop to get work done. read more

I'm Not from Pasadena but stumbled upon this bakery , there was a line so I knew it had to be good . The line went fairly fast and was well organized. It's a small bakery with a few places to sit . Everything looked delicious but I went with a few different cookies peanut butter, brown sugar and white chocolate macadamia . The cookies were soft with a nice crunch on the edge . So GOOD !!!! read more
In the immortal words of Public Enemy, "Don't believe the hype." Well, in this case...the hype is real! People have been lining up for Tick-Tok influencer Ashley Cunningham's signature cinnamon rolls (traditional & matcha) since the shop opened about a month ago. Ashley is a classically trained chef and a self-taught baker. Her sweet treats are made from scratch daily with love and high-quality ingredients. I arrived on a Saturday at 8:30 and was fortunate that there was no line - just two people ahead of me. The shop is cozy & welcoming with big fluffy couches to sit on while you wait for your order. The pastry case is filled with cookies, muffins, brownies, banana bread, cakes, and even banana pudding. Coffee & tea beverages are available too. The staff are friendly & courteous. I ordered a classic cinnamon roll and a slice of coffee cake. I sat on the fluffy couch while I waited for my order, which wasn't long. The cinnamon roll exceeded my expectations. It was pillowy soft, with a perfect amount of cinnamon filling, and the cream cheese icing was chef's kiss. It was by far the BEST cinnamon roll ever! The coffee cake was moist with a crunchy crumb topping. I saved half of each for the next day and they were still soft & fresh and tasted even better when warmed up. I can't wait to go back for a brownie, some cookies, and that banana pudding. Kudos to Chef Ashley. *Metered street parking. read more
I got to Badash Bakes right when they opened at 8am. Tip: street parking in Pasadena is free before 11am. I placed a big order to share with friends and family: cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, and coffee cake. Everyone agreed the cookies and cinnamon rolls were the standouts. You order and pay at the register first, then pick up on the bakery side where they'll call your name. I'm giving them 3.5 stars overall, mainly because of the steep prices and a disappointing matcha strawberry latte with oat milk. It was so watered down that I could barely taste the matcha. That said, it's still worth stopping by as an occasional treat. I'm glad I waited until the initial hype died down. There was no lines, no wait, and a smoother experience. read more
Stop by this morning around 10am to pick up some cinnamon rolls to take to my friend's house today. The line was not too bad but when I got the register the girl managing it was NOT friendly at all. No hello, no smile, no thank you at all. I'm not the kind that needs conversation but the simple salutation and how much I owed would have been respectful the very least. I've gotten a warmer feeling from a kiosk ordering system. What a shame since the pastries are so yum. read more

Was sad to see FrenchiFornia close up after 5+ years in Pasadena and wondered what would take over the retail space. After the signage went up for Badash Bakes, posts all over IG started popping up about their unique baked goods. I was definitely intrigued with their matcha cinnamon roll. Every time we walked or drove by, we'd see a line and finally decided to stop by on a Thursday at around 1130. Though they had patrons dining inside and out, there wasn't a line to place an order! As they clearly state that cinnamon rolls are served until 12 and cookies are served after 12, we were fortunate to be able to sample both items. Matcha cinnamon roll - this was then one item I was excited to try as it was very unique. After trying it, not sure I like the combination of matcha and cinnamon. The only difference between the matcha and regular is simply with the icing. Cinnamon roll - thought this was the best item we sampled. Though it wasn't hot, I thought it was perfectly baked with the perfect amount of cinnamon and icing. Would definitely come back for this in the morning. Cookies - we ended up ordering a dozen (doubled up on both the matcha and toffee chocolate chip). Had high hopes as all of videos on IG kept stating how good they were but wasn't impressed with them. The best in my opinion was the toffee chocolate chip and the s'mores due to the uniqueness. I think I'd rather have a Levain or b. patisserie cookie if craving one. As we took the items home for consumption, didn't try their drinks so may have to come back for that another day. Been trying to come and have these cookies for a few months now and unfortunately it never worked woth my schedule but we finally were able to try them. Nice boutique bakery and several friendly staff available to help. Lucky for us we didn't have a line like we've seen in the past. We tried the cookies and they are good, nostalgic like the cookies back in elementary school or middle school. I really thought they were thicker but they are very thin cookies. I have been having Badash Bakes on my list for awhile, just that it's tad far away. Knowing they had a collab this week serving Matcha Blondies, I just couldn't make any more excuse to push it down my to-go list. As expected, weekend and it's the last day of the collab, made it perfect reason to see long waiting line. Unfortunately they also didn't do online pre-order on the day (big frowned). The bakery took place at Pasadena's center of crowd, which was also the arrays of some other popular spots to dine. It's super cute from the outside, looking like classic elegant French cafe. Going inside at its peak hour was quite overwhelming though as it's packed with people trying to find spots to stand LOL. Order placement was swift enough considering how busy it was. It might not be a perfect sit down space with that condition and you could indeed see most people order for to-go. All the attendants were so cheerful and welcoming, delivering that positive vibes to shoo away any irritation from the long wait. Besides the Matcha Blondies which brought me there, I was trying to go for the house 'regulars' as well to make my drive worthy. Torn between the cinnamon roll and the cookie, I just asked for the attendant's reco and she told me to opt for the latter, also further convincing me as I picked the Toffee Chocolate Chip cookie saying it's her fave. Well, needless to say much, the picture of the Matcha Blondies could tell you how fudgy and rich it was, worth every single calorie I spent on it. The matcha flavor stood out as strong as the color could tell you, with impeccable balance between sweet and pleasing bitter hint. I would highly pitch for keeping it permanently (pretty please)! As for the cookie, if you're thin and chewy cookie gang, I could see you loving it. It's a matter of preference, but I'm still within the boat of thick gooey one. Taste wise it's pretty decent with generous mix-ins. They did offer much more flavors to try. Would come back for their cinnamon rolls or the matcha drinks another time! read more

I have been following Ash on TikTok before she opened the bakery so I was all too excited to check it out. They offer an array of cookies as well as coffee and cinnamon rolls. We tried the regular cinnamon roll as well as chocolate chip toffee cookie and everything was delicious. The service was great and they were patient and friendly. I wish they were able to warm up the cinnamon roll as I think that would've taken the experience to the next level, but overall I recommend and I definitely will go back if I was ever in the area again.! read more
Good but not great. Nothing special or memorable. The drinks were not good. They seemed pretty watery. The Dubai drink just tastes like chocolate milk so you're better off just getting a Yoo-hoo from the liquor store for a couple bucks instead honestly. They said the pistachio was in the cream but it didn't taste like pistachio whatsoever so they must have skipped a step, surely. The Strawberry milk lacked flavor and was also watery tasting. Cookies were good. We tried s'mores, toffee, white chocolate macadamia, matcha, cornbread, and chocolate chip (which had a single piece of chocolate in it like wtf?). They were all solid tasty cookies but not memorable. Red velvet cake was good. The cream cheese frosting tastes whipped so it's a much lighter tasting version of red velvet cake if you're into that kinda thing. Good but def would prefer it to be full fat haha Lemon loaf itself was pretty decent but the glaze was bitter as if they overzested and got too much of the pith in it. Matcha roll was decent. A lot of people were ordering the matcha drinks which we didn't try but also they're $9 each c'mon now. Service is good. Line is long but moves decently fast. Same goes for the time it takes to make your drink and or getting your sweet treats. Supposedly they were to have matcha blondies today and tomorrow but we didn't see any on display. Lively atmosphere but small space so definitely not for big groups. It is cozy though with generous seating options considering the size of the bakery. Badash Bakes is one of my favorite bakeries in Pasadena! From the ambience to the products themselves, it is truly a bakery for the girlies that doesn't compromise on quality. Ashley's labor of love is evident from the attention to details on the menu to the final products that we get to enjoy. I visited with my friend and we were excited to dive into everything and can't wait to go back and try more. The wait on a Friday afternoon wasn't too bad and even though there is limited seating, we were still able to find some space to enjoy our drinks and pastries indoors. I wish they had longer open hours but running a small business takes so much work, I absolutely respect the boundaries! read more
There's been a bit of a craze surrounding this new dessert shop since they opened about two months ago. I was hesitant to go early on because I heard the lines were extreme, but luckily the situation calmed down by the time I stopped by (on a weekday around 10 am). I purchased a brown sugar cookie, cornbread cookie, toffee chocolate chip cookie, classic cinnamon roll, matcha cinnamon roll, and a cinnamon roll latte. The total for the three cookies, two cinnamon rolls, and latte came out to about $35 - not bad at all! The cookies were thin, crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. My favorite was the toffee cookie, which was rich and buttery. The cinnamon rolls were soft and pillowy, with an ooey gooey center - utter perfection. The cinnamon latte, on the other hand, was a hard pass. I'll just stick to their desserts going forward, which are certainly satisfying enough. ****************** My Ratings: 1 Star: Terrible; just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars: Wasn't a fan so Not likely to return. 3 Stars: Meh. Love the toffee chocolate chip cookie and the cinnamon roll! If you're a fan of thin soft cookies, this one is perfect! Not so much for those who love a little crisp on their cookie! I usually do prefer a little crisp on the outside but I love the strong brown butter taste to this that I dont mind it being a soft cookies The cinnamon roll is also so scrumptious and not too overly sweet. Unfortunately for me my dog snuck a bite or half the cinnamon roll so I couldn't fully enjoy it but for the couple bites I had, it was delicious! I wanted to try the matcha but $9.30 for a matcha latte and $11 for the strawberry matcha is a bit steep for me so I opted not to try lol someone please tell me if it's worth the price! read more

You can't scroll TikTok for more than five swipes without seeing Basash Bakes, so of course I had to try it. I waited until the hype died down a bit since the bakery is far from Long Beach and the lines can be hours long. Parking was easy for me because I went on a Thursday morning when I was free, which turned out to be the best decision. I parked right out front and walked straight in. It did get a little busier after I arrived, so I think the sweet spot on weekdays is around 10:30 a.m. Before diving into the flavors, I have to point out the most impressive part: every single cookie had the same perfect texture. Each one was flat yet substantial, with a thin, crispy edge that gave way to a soft, pillowy center. They weren't cakey or overly chewy just the right balance between tender and structured, so they held together without crumbling apart. That level of consistency is rare in a bakery doing this many flavors. Brown Sugar: Buttery, deep, and rich with a mellow molasses note that rounded out the sweetness. The crisp edges had a caramelized bite, while the center stayed soft and almost melt-in-your-mouth. I could eat this every day. If the bakery were closer, I'd already be back for more. Chocolate Chip: A classic done right. The base was rich and buttery, the chocolate perfectly balanced without overwhelming the dough. You get that nostalgic, straight-from-the-oven feel, with just enough salt to keep it from being cloying. Matcha: Smooth and earthy without tipping into the grassy bitterness matcha sometimes has. The sweetness balanced the matcha flavor well, and the texture stayed true to the rest of the lineup--crisp on the outside, soft and dense in the middle. Red Velvet: The color was striking, but the flavor leaned neutral. Without cream cheese frosting to cut through and add tang, it lacked a distinct personality. Texture was still spot on, though. Toffee Chocolate Chip: Rich and buttery like the classic chocolate chip but with a subtle caramel note from the toffee. The pieces were well incorporated, melting slightly into the dough so there were no overly hard bits just a smooth, toffee-infused chew. S'mores: Essentially a chocolate chip cookie with a gooey marshmallow pocket. Good as is, but I think it could be taken to the next level with graham cracker crumbs in the dough or as a base layer for a more distinct s'mores flavor profile. Cinnamon Roll:I was excited for this one, and the aroma was amazing warm spice with a hint of yeastiness. The center had a nice cinnamon swirl, but the filling was slightly grainy, which took away from the soft, velvety bite I was hoping for. The icing, if it was cream cheese-based, was too mild to really shine. Overall, Basash Bakes nails their textures, and that alone makes them worth the trip. While some flavors stood out more than others, the consistent quality across the board was impressive. I'd definitely go back. read more

This is a really nice bakery. The cookies and pastries are delicious and unique. Where else can you get a moist match cinnamon roll. My top favorite cookie was the toffee one followed by the chocolate chip. The staff is super sweet and you can tell they like what they are doing. You feel the love when you walk in the door. I would try a box of 6 cookies and ask them to give you their top 3 sellers then choose the next 3 yourself. read more

I love their cookies here!! I've tried the chocolate chip cookie before and today the brown sugar cookie. The chocolate chip is the best in my opinion, but the brown sugar isn't too bad at all either. I like because it's not too much grease/oil in their cookies. I tried their cinnamon roll and it was really good a tab bit sweet but still pretty good and soft. It's a 4/5 for me! The service was really fast and good! It's really cute inside and very clean. They have some seating as well. I want to try the Cinnamon roll latte next time as well. It's close to old town Pasadena and right in the perfect location. Scarce parking only and mostly street. I highly recommend, especially if you want some fire cookies!! read more
3.5 stars Their cinnamon rolls are pretty good, but a little too sweet for me. Matcha one had a really good match flavor to it. My son loved their chocolate chip cookie, he described it as moist inside a little crunchy outside and not too sweet. The cinnamon roll taste better when warmed, but it does gets sweeter as well. I only ate half at a time because of the sweetness. I wish they would make their cinnamon rolls a little less sweet because they are delicious. read more

The cinnamon roll here is to die for!! So moist and soft and very cinnamon-y. And the icing is so yummy and not too sweet. I also tried the banana bread and that was also so moist and very fresh tasting- I think it came straight out of the oven because it was still warm. For a drink, I got an iced matcha latte with agave and I think they put a bit too much because it was too sweet. But the matcha was very strong and I was pretty impressed. It's pretty small inside and most people are waiting to pick up their drink orders because those seem longer to make. read more
Saw this place on TikTok and needed to try the Matcha cinnamon roll. We came on a Saturday around 12 PM and waited about 15 minutes outside and then another five or so minutes after ordering. I don't typically order cinnamon rolls but I liked the Macha cinnamon roll a lot more than I thought I would. It was a lot better when I heated it up at home. I also got the double Matcha latte which was also a lot better than I expected. The cinnamon roll latte was quite sweet, but what do you expect? There are a few couches to sit down, however it's quite crowded. Wouldn't recommend this as a place to sip your coffee and chill, however, there are tables outside. Overall, the employees are friendly and welcoming. I'd wait again for less than 30 minutes, but I don't think it's worth an hour wait. I would come back to try their brownies and other pastries. Other guests in front of me spent over $100 here so likely the other baked goods are good. read more

Look, this place is amazing!!! I would love to come here everyday if I could afford it. I get that they are very busy especially when they come out with special cinnamon rolls which is why I went today (2/28) for the pecan and red velvet since red velvet is my favorite. I waited in line before they opened to get the special rolls but when I got home they gave me the wrong one which sucks....so now I won't get to have the red velvet one since they only had it for vday and this one special weekend. The cashier was also a bit short with me when I made my order but she smiled and laughed with everyone else. Edit: I just realized I was charged more for the red velvet and the matcha one costs less..... read more
Today was global running day and I was headed to Alo in Pasadena. I walked past Badash Bakes and saw a long line out the door at 8am. Upon finishing the activities I walked back and saw the line had died down so I decided to stop by as this has been on my bookmarks. They had their full menu at 10am so I was able to try everything I wanted to. I ordered: matcha cinnamon roll, carrot loaf, chocolate chip cookie, double matcha and strawberry matcha. Matcha cinnamon roll was $6.50, carrot loaf $4.50, cookie $3.70, double matcha $9 and strawberry matcha $8.50. The price for the baked goods were reasonable but the matchas were about $1-$2 more expensive than other places. Crazy to say these prices are affordable but inflation... Overall I thought all the items were good, just on the pricier side. The star of the show was the matcha cinnamon roll. It wasn't too sweet, fluffy and heavy on the matcha flavor. The carrot loaf was moist and had crunchy walnuts inside. Chocolate chip cookie was standard but good if you like crispy cookies. I thought my strawberry matcha was okay. Nothing too special about it. The double matcha had strong matcha flavor and wasn't too sweet. The matcha cream top was on the thicker side. For my 5 items it came out to be almost $40 with half the cost coming from the 2 drinks. Talk about drinking your calories haha. read more
