All I can saw is WOW! What a lovely place and beautiful experience we had at Bacquets tonight! My dad raved about the French onion soup and we also ordered the duck and a caprese salad. Added some bubbly and cote du Rhône! Wonderful service and friendly people! The only improvement I think could be in the butter that comes with the bread. I'm only saying this because French butter is so out of this world and by the quality of the food at this establishment I would picture more frenchy butter that what they offered. Tonight was our first time at Bacquet's. I must say after reading all of their reviews we both were pretty excited for some French cuisine. 1st: The food was exquisite! The service was top notch. Very impressed that Chef Franc came out to welcome us and introduce himself. Peter, our server was very attentive, friendly and overall a pleasant individual. Love the atmosphere! We had an opportunity to dine at Bacquet's tonight, and what a great experience we had! The owner greeted us, took us to our table, and within minutes brought a healthy assortment of food for our two year old granddaughter to eat and stay busy with. As for the adults we enjoyed a very nice wine, an excellent crispy seafood flatbread, and then our main meals consisting of Coquilles St Jacques and the special of an assortment of shellfish and pasta. Both dishes unbelievably good! All five adults left very satisfied. Our server, and the owner were top notch, focused on insuring all of us had an enjoyable evening. Their anticipation of our needs and fulfilling were done with no hesitation. I recommend this restaurant in Eagle to those who want an excellent meal, served by a top notch team. My family and I enjoyed another lovely meal yesterday. We celebrated a birthday lunch for 5 which included a seven year old. He wanted Mac & Cheese which wasn't on the menu. Our waiter didn't miss a step. He said he would ask the chef if he could accommodate the request. He was pleased with buttered pasta with fresh Parmesan cheese. We had the good fortune to order up the pot roast dinner this last Wed. for takeout. What a treat of comfort food which included creamy mashed potatoes with great gravy, oven roasted carrots, salad and soup and Acme demi-baguettes. There was enough food for 4 dinners which we had over 2 nights and we used the salad and soup with rolls for a light meal one other evening. Now my wife, Judi, does a mean Portuguese pot roast, but we both said that this was the best pot roast we have tasted. We used one of our wines from our cellar. This was out third visit to Bacquet last night and everything was amazing! The Seafood pasta is just indescribable! The duck l'orange was perfectly cooked as was the salmon. This is some of the best if not the best in the Treasure Valley. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor. Wow! After seeing some recent reviews, I decided I should weigh in. We have dined at Bacquet regularly for about 5 years. We are accustomed to dining in a wide variety of restaurants worldwide. We love well-executed cuisine in any price range and have dined in everything from Michelin 3 star restaurants in France to street food in St. Petersburg, Russia (not recently, however). Needless-to-say, we're thrilled with the food scene in the Treasure Valley. Chef Franck and Michelle have played a significant role in our culinary odyssey here. For instance, last winter, my husband decided we should sample the entire lunch menu, so for about 3 months, we popped into Bacquet for a late lunch about every 10 days or so. Since we seldom dine out for lunch, it was a new and very delicious experience. In all my visits to this restaurant, I have never experienced the situation described in several recent 1-star reviews. We go in with the attitude that the food will be great and the servers will do their best. This is a small restaurant, and unexpected problems with staffing or deliveries can arise. People, we're all still trying to recover from 2+ years of chaos, and Bacquet has done a good job. In fact, they were one of the very best places for carryout all through the pandemic. Yes, we are regular customers and are recognized, but we also observe others and have NEVER encountered a situation like the one described in those few reviews. I have to think that is an outlier group of reviews from one party and I, personally, appreciate Michelle's defense of her staff. Waiting tables is hard, and your servers deserve respect. Just learned about this place recently and found all the odd reviews which made me even more interested in trying for myself. Well, my experience was that everything we had was incredible. Without a doubt the best meal I've had in Boise, and definitely up there overall. I grew up in NYC and have been all over Europe including France. There are many good restaurants and many good chefs. There are few great chefs and even fewer great restaurants. You have both here. The service is not really "fine dining" but personally I prefer it that way. Not stuffy at all, with just the right amount of engagement. I also like the personalized approach to wine selection. I don't know anything about wine, and our server assured me that wasn't important. Either way, I sent my fiancé to their wine library and Chef Franck recommended a bottle based on what we like. It was a hit. Yes it's on the pricey side but portions are huge and the dishes really are on another level. I have definitely spent more money for worse food and service many times. Why did I take so long? Because you are local and I love to support local. But after visiting another restaurant in the area tonight and having an amazing dinner I could rave about I remembered how disappointing my meal was at your establishment. I spent a similar amount. Because I depend on both positive AND negative reviews when making a choice on where to eat I thought I was doing a disservice to others by not having posted my opinion. That's all. No hole in my heart. No empty life. Just a less than impressive meal. As for your donation. You may give however you choose, it's yours to give. Edit: the chef says they've never served sole, so I reviewed their previous Facebook posts from June of 2020 to make sure I was remembering correctly. I was. There is also a screenshot of their reopening announcement on June 8th.Thank goodness for the internet! I've debated over a year whether to leave a review or not and decided it was time to do so. The best I can say is our experience in June of 2020 was meh. The service was ok- not great, not horrible, just ok. We had their charcuterie board and it was good, not great, but good. That is what made this a 2 star review versus a 1 star review. My husband had the lamb and it was rather forgettable. He didn't finish it, where as the restaurant we went to tonight he ate every bite and longed for more. I had the sole - I'd never had sole before so didn't know what to expect, but the waiter assured me the chef was an expert at preparing it so I took a chance. It was quite tasteless. Perhaps that's how it's supposed to be - bland and tasteless. I don't know, I haven't ordered it anywhere since. For dessert we had the creme brûlée. It was just ok. I make creme brûlée that people rave about and request again and again when I'm providing dessert for a dinner or event- so I'm pretty sure I know what good creme brûlée is supposed to be. Theirs was unremarkable and definitely a bit disappointing - a tad runny as well. I'm sure the owner will have some retort to my review. She always seems to find a way to defend and feel attacked. No matter, we show our appreciation for excellent food by returning to the place again and again. We have not returned to this restaurant and haven't missed it at all. read more

Absolutely horrible owners, particularly the "wife" . Could not enjoy our meal because of her constant badgering and mean spirit. Had to bag up our food and leave. She should NOT be in the restaurant business! Update: After reading the response of the owner it is quite revealing and goes directly to my review. We never had an issue with any server. We had a male server as well. We are not the party she is referring to and is clearly deflecting. She exposes herself in this response. I see she likes to "86" people ( a restaurant term) and she would have no idea who we are if we walked in this very moment as she is not engaged with her customers. Clearly. Our issue is and was with her. It's just unacceptable and so many other choices to dine and not get mistreated by the owner. I was looking for a fancy place to take my mom for her 60th birthday and stumbled upon Bacquets. I was hoping to get her somewhat intoxicated so I wouldn't have to hear her ramble on about my brother and sister and how I need to find a good good church, so I was pleasantly surprised when We arrived on a snowy Sunday afternoon and the first thing the waitress did was offer us champagne. I answered for my mom and said yes, as for me I stuck with hot tea since I am just about 5 months pregnant. The ambiance is really nice when you walk in you will feel like you're in a French courtyard with twinkle lights and a classy feel. The lunch specials are from tues-Sunday till 4pm which is always a nice touch. Our server was amazing. She was informative, attentive and dealt with my moms oh so awkward over friendliness. We ended up ordering 2 appetizers and 1 dinner and 1 lunch special. For appetizers we ordered the caprese tower and truffle raviolis. The caprese tower was dive with light yet rich flavors and fresh mozzarella. The raviolis and the meals we ordered were sadly not as good, however It may have been an off day since I noticed the same overly salted flavor in all 3 of the sub par dishes. Take your dollars with you and you will happily trade for fantastic food. I was hesitant to eat French food but now I'm so happy I did. I was afraid the food would be too rich and saucy. I was wrong. Chef Franck is a master. I can't eat much at a sitting so it was hard to decide what I wanted. The description of the French onion soup pulled me in. I think I'll return for the soup and a glass of wine. The soup portion was perfect. Between a cup and bowl sized with rich hearty beefy broth with good portion of onions and the bread held up for every bite. My husband had the Kobe steak and shrimp and the steak was incredibly tender. The sauce wasn't too heavy. Everything was perfect. I wish I could remember the wine as it went well with the soup, steak dinner and the chocolate mousse. The restaurant is a store front but is quaint and Nicky decorated with lovely music. read more

My wife asked for a small change to a repaid event for a picky eater in our group, several days ahead. The owners not only denied the request but also offered not refund for our four tickets, and indicate they'd be selling our spots again for full price. What a beautiful night! Visiting friends in Eagle, they took us to Bacquet's for a memorable dinner. Knowing how much we loved visiting Paris, they knew that we'd love this restaurant and were they right! We started with the fabulous flatbread with cheese, bacon and onions that tasted just like we remembered having in Alsace. We followed with their house salads, which were delicious. The guys had the Pork (Tenderloin) Parisian with the girls being very lucky to have nabbed a taste. It was delicious. One of us gals had the Beef with the green peppercorn sauce - which was tremendous, and this gal had the best scallops of her life - Coquilles Saint Jacques! We also enjoyed a delicious red Burgundy and feasted on shared Apple Tarte and the Croissant Bread Pudding with a touch of chocolate at the bottom. UNBELIEVABLE!!! This will definitely be our "can't miss" place when returning to Eagle and already are looking forward to returning soon. read more

We dined here on Saturday evening and had a fantastic experience! My husband and I had the vegan version of Gary's Vegetables and it was delectable. So much flavor! Our three guests all had the Veal Piccata and had rave reviews. We were celebrating my grandmother's 80th birthday and she said it was the best Veal Piccata she's ever had! The wine and desserts also received incredibly high praise. Ben was our server and took excellent care of us - he helped make the evening even more special. Visited on my birthday 14 July and was very impressed. My son and daughter-in-law took me out and I requested Bacquets. I have always wanted to visit this restaurant but had not been yet. We went early because the older I get, the earlier I want to eat. I started out with the French onion soup and as advertised it was the best I had ever eaten. I even begrudgingly, shared a bite or two with my son and daughter-in-law. They were equally impressed and the presentation was a picture perfect. I then ordered the Veal Marsala and was blown away by the size and presentation. The wine sauce was just perfect and veal was so tender you could cut it with a fork. My son had beef stroganoff equally as impressive and delicious. Both of those meals came with homemade delicious pasta noodles. My daughter-in-law I have the salmon and she said it was fantastic. Our server was very attentive and had great recommendations. She was always present when we needed her and not when we didn't. The ambience was very quaint like a small Parisian café. Chef even came over to ask how we liked the meal. To top it off for dessert we had the cheesecake and crème brûlée. They were presented exquisitely and the texture and taste were delectable. I look forward to going back on Thursday for the prime rib and piano bar. Do not hesitate to go to this magnificent French restaurant. It has been a long time since we ate here and we were looking forward to it very much. The chef Frank and the entire staff did not disappoint. We great service and excellent food. I had the escargot and the special Pheasant. Both were perfectly cooked to perfection. The rest of our part had the duck confit flatbread and the charcuterie platter (I forget the name on the menu) as main they had pork in marsala, seafood pasta. Happy Mother's Day to me! I was given a $200 gift card to use and was told to check this place out and were from Phoenix and big time foodies. Super excited I called to express that I have a gift card and would like to place an order before I even finished my question the man that answered the phone told me to call back later and I repeated that I was going to place an order and I was told NO they are too busy and can't do that and I called in the middle of Mother's Day, my point exactly, I called them before 4 PM which I had plenty of time to wait for my order if they needed time? I was of zero priority. I have quickly changed my mind and not interested in this establishment. Sad, because I was really looking forward to it and heard good things.
