Bacquet's has been on my to go list for a long time. My cousin wanted to celebrate her birthday here so it's finally my time to try it out! Our reservation was at 6:30. I showed up first and was sat at our table that was beautifully set. After everyone showed up, we got to looking over the menu. Everything on the menu looked good. I'm not a big protein eater so my options were quite limited. What I did see that I could have was the ratatouille pasta. I did notice on their lunch menu that they offer a couple salads. It would have been nice to have that option for dinner. After orders were placed, we enjoyed the fresh bread and butter. There was a live band playing in the background which created such a nice vibe to the place. The bread was fabulous! It was warm, crusty on the outside and so soft in the middle. The butter that was paired with the bread was delicious! So soft and salty. It was hard not to over butter the bread, it was the perfect vessel for the butter. I did order the soup de jour to start. It's a black truffle cream of asparagus soup. First glance at the soup, it looked creamy and rich. The croutons on top were perfectly golden. After a couple bites, rich is how I would describe this soup. It was savory and thick. The croutons added a nice texture to the soup. I was able to eat about half. It honestly was too rich. And then you add the buttery croutons, it was overwhelming. It would have have nice to have small pieces of asparagus to help with the texture and less croutons. Dinner took a while to come out. My pasta was prettily plated in a big pasta bowl. You can see the papperdelle pasta covered in the sauce. The pieces of zucchini, egg plant and bell pepper were delicately diced. The papperdelle was cooked nicely. The sauce was hearty from the veggies. The sauce also had a nice heat to it. It could have used a hair more salt to the dish. It would have been nice to have salt and pepper at the table but non was available. As hearty as the sauce was, it was underwhelming in flavor. We did end dinner with some bread pudding and creme brulee. Both were devine! The bread pudding was hot and sweet. You can tell that it came straight out the oven. The creme brulee was creamy. The sugar crust added a nice bitter element to the custard. Both were beautifully presented. I think I would have enjoyed this experience if we didn't have such long wait times for everything. It took us 3 hours from start to finish. Long wait time for our starters, for dinner and then for dessert. The bread and butter as fantastic. The soup was overwhelmingly rich. The pasta needed more seasoning. It was a neat experience with the live music and ambiance of the venue but the food was just ok for me.

We dropped in spur of the moment on a Sunday for lunch. We found the experience to be relaxing and the food delicious! My husband and I each got the French dip sandwich and loved it. it came with a small salad, rolls and butter. the server was friendly and very accommodating. 5 stars!!

Absolutely amazing experience! Food: 5/5. Started off with the escargot. I had never had it before but have always wanted to try it and thought "why not". It was great! Still sizzling hot, buttery and quite pleasant! If you have ever wanted to try it, I recommend trying it here. We went on a Thursday when they have Prime Rib which was absolutely delicious! We also got the duck leg which was amazing as well. For dessert, the creme brûlée was top-notch and plated beautifully! Our waitress also recommends a delicious Malbec wine that paired well with our meal. Service: 5/5. Savannah was delightful and so welcoming! Atmosphere: 5/5. We sat on the patio which has a water feature and a great ambiance. Indoors is a completely different, more elevated vibe. I feel like either options makes for a great experience. This was the perfect restaurant for a celebration and a great place for a date night! There were a few older kids, but I would not recommend taking younger kids to this establishment. Looking forward to our next time here!

In 2023 I listed Bacquet's as one of the best restaurants in all the places I visited that year That included restaurant visits in Philadelphia, Chicago, New Orleans, Istanbul, and Paris. I had a chance to go back before heading out to Greensboro North Carolina for work and it's as amazing now as it was in 2023. Why I wait so long between visits is beyond reason Whoever was the chef the day I visited made me a spectacular salad. The shallot balsamic vinaigrette was on point. I decided to have escargots and it instantly brought me back to many trips to France. The garlic and butter was just the right amount and while it was splendide, having the ACME bread to soak up every drop afterwards was the proverbial icing on the cake. Our service was professional and timely. Nous avons la chance d'avoir Bacquet's à deux pas de chez nous. C'est une vraie cuisine française, préparée et présentée avec soin.

A charming atmosphere with exquisite food and exceptional service. Elevated French bistro. Some of the best escargot I've had. The crab fest was delightful!

It was my first time eating French food in Boise. The food was good and the environment was OK. However, the French food took more than two and half hours dessert is good, but not for to go.

Delicious dinner, but prepare for a wait. Maybe the wait was intentional but large parties seated--and who ordered after our table of three--were served before us. We had the duck flat bread appetizer (very good), salad/soup. Dinner arrived 1.75 hours after we were seated (early reservation so not so busy when we were seated). My rack of lamb was delicious--especially the sauce. My husband and friend enjoyed the salmon's sauce and the veal.

We are here twice during our visit to Eagle, Idaho. The food was delicious and the wait staff were friendly and helpful. Loved sitting on the patio for a long leisurely lunch. Highly recommend!

Hi do you serve whole fish as daily special?

A few times each year we've offered our favorite fish species, but they're usually prepared without the head.

I see you do not have bar seating, but do you also serve cocktails (or is it only beer and wine)? Thanks!

Hundreds of wine selections, plus three beers on tap. :-)

Do you take reserve?

yes, they do

Traveling alone and heard I need to eat here. Is there bar seating available I can dine at?

Yes! You have to come!! We don't have a bar, but there's lots of patio seating. Reservations are always recommended. 208.577.6238

Yes! You're welcome to bring a special bottle that we don't offer in-house. The corkage fee is $30.… Read more

Today's Eagle pick is JoVinos. It's conveniently 5 minutes away from my house. I have driven by this place hundreds of times and never put two and two together that this is a coffee joint. I have been to Caffeina heading towards downtown on State and their downtown location a handful of times. It's nice to know there's another one heading in the other direction for me to hit up. Pulling up, this venue is stunning. I love the tables outside but you also see the beautiful outdoor seating available, how cozy and romantic. I walked in and can already tell by the esthetic of this joint that it's a branch off of Caffeina. The plants, chill vibe and unique set up. This coffee joint is so sexy and chill. The colors of the decor, the green lush leaves, the way the tables and chairs are set up. You can hang out and not realize how much time has passed by. Out of all the coffee joints in town, I would have never thought I would use sexy and coffee together but at this location, it fits. I ordered my regular drink today. Med iced americano with some sugar free white chocolate. The barista that helped me was sweet and got my drink started. She was kind and asked if I wanted to pour my own cream, it was nice to have that option. I'm not picky so I let her make my drink how she saw fit. My drink we delicious! Rich in espresso, the perfect amount of cream and slightly sweet. I sipped and enjoyed my americano while enjoying the cool atmosphere. I sat towards the back where there were huge comfy pillows. I would have loved to enjoy the outside seating but the air conditioning was feeling too good on this hot summer day. I know this joint acts as a wine bar as well. A nice option to come in for wine or coffee for the non drinkers. Plenty of seating for few friends to come in for some beverages and gossip. This joint is nothing like anything else in town. Romantic, sexy and chill. I can't wait to come back by myself or with a few of my friends. I can see this place being a hot spot for a night cap. The waterfall, patio lighting and your favorite person. That would be a great way to end any date or get together. I look forward to having a night like this here.

Obviously you seat yourself. I was surprised to see it pretty empty for a Wednesday night, but it worked out to our favor since we had a large party of 20+ people. Happy hour prices and specials are not posted anywhere that I could find, but the bartenders happily listed them off (I can't recall them, but there's deals on beer, wine and well drinks only). I had a Blue moon on tap, with a glorious orange wedge. The beer was perfectly poured and had excellent flavor. I wasn't in the mood for the lounge fare, but luckily you can order from the full restaurant menu from the lounge. My friend and I opted to split the Signature Barrel burger.with cheddar cheese, bacon, brown mustard, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a patty that is grilled to your liking (medium). We asked for a plate to split the burger ourselves, but the bartender was nice enough to put in the order as a split order without an additional charge. Our burger and fries were split and served on two different plates, which was greatly appreciated. The burger had a nice flavor though a tad under seasoned and a notch more than medium-didn't blow my socks off, but it's a solid burger. The fries were the star, as they were crunchy, yet pillowy soft inside, covered in a lovely batter. I wouldn't mind going again and trying out the restaurant side, it was a nice visit to the lounge. They only had one bartender for a large crowd and she hustled really hard to keep everyone happy...I just felt bad that she didn't have much help.

The thing that jumped out at me was the photo of the burger, now call me crazy but I think at this point I can look at a menu, photos of food and then the reviews to guide me. Yelp hasn't failed me yet! The first thing was walking in the door there were two hostess who smiled and greeted me. We were seated at the bar since there were just two of us. I ordered the Crave burger with bacon and my guest ordered the house salad with tortilla soup. Everything was excellent! The burger was juicy, flavorful, the bacon was perfectly crispy, Smokey and the white cheddar cheese was the perfect compliment! Now let's talk about the bun, I typically don't eat burger buns but this one was the exception to the rule. It was homemade obviously, buttery, light, and toasted to perfection. I ate both of them! Hahahaha! I felt so dirty typing that the French fries were crispy, just the right amount of salty and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. My guest agrees with everything in this review. The house salad was fresh, the vinaigrette was homemade and delicious and the tortilla soup was even great! The ambience was a place you could have a business meeting or take your significant other on a date night. There is literally something for everyone on their crave-able menu ( see what I did there?) All I have to say is, I think that Boise is a very, very lucky City to have Susina as part of the community of restaurants here. This is the first time in a very long time that I have literally left a restaurant pining for more food despite my full belly! It was my birthday weekend and a friend and I decided that we were going to finally make a reservation to eat at Susina having heard so many wonderful things about it , and all of the Great experiences that others have had after dining there. We started with a bottle of St. Hilaire. It is a nice young, bright, sparkling, crisp, dry, wine from France and one of my staples! I was very happy to see it on the menu. I was dreaming about the Beef Carpaccio as I don't often get to have it here in Boise but only when I travel to Italy. They prepared it paper thin (of course), as it should be, with a preserved, Meyer lemon aioli and pickled red onions and an herb salad which really took it over the top! I usually enjoy Beef Carpaccio on a bed of arugula, but I really appreciated the herbaceousness of the salad and how absolutely fresh and deep the flavors were. The beef was perfectly cool in temperature and the pickled red onions and lemon aioli were in perfect balance with the beef and herbs. Delicious! This is definitely now one of the things on their menu that I'll be craving moving forward. My friend and I decided we were going to each get a first course, a main course, and a dessert. For the first course, we got the crab risotto. The Wild Rock crab was so perfectly fresh and sweet, and I really appreciated the roundness of the mascarpone herb oil. The risotto was of the utmost silkiness and it was perfectly cooked. This dish was also impeccable and gorgeous to look at. The second dish that we chose to share was the Potato Gnocchi. I make my own at home, but I use ricotta cheese instead to make light, little, fluffy pillows and I hadn't had a good Potato Gnocchi in a very, very long time and I absolutely love the potato kind. They were the absolute perfect size. Perfect. The truffled mushrooms were to die for. This was perfection in my opinion. Love all the shaved Parmesan on top as well. We went for it and for the main course we got the Wagyu Coulotte. Omg! This was absolutely divine. It was cooked to an absolute, perfect, medium, rare and it was so tender that it just melted in my mouth. The mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection and the spring vegetables, grilled, lovingly and absolutely everything that we had was seasoned so nicely. I feel the chef understands his salt and I appreciate that deeply. Too many dishes at some restaurants go under seasoned and sometimes chefs can also over do the salt, but this was just the perfect amount. I'll be dreaming about this steak for months! Onto the Pan Roasted Halibut. It was served with herbed, brown, rice and a beurre blanc sauce with spring vegetables. So much flavor here! The brown rice was cooked just perfectly, the spring vegetables had a bit of caramelization and the beurre blanc sauce was delicate and creamy and complimented the Halibut perfectly. The fish was very nicely prepared and full of flavor and balance. Onto dessert, where we enjoyed the Bruleed cheesecake with strawberry sauce . (Sorry I cannot add the accents to Bruleed--- my phone doesn't have a French keyboard). Ha! The cheesecake was light and creamy and I loved that caramelized brulee on the top. Very special indeed. We also tried the lemon tart with toasted meringue. It was divinely acidic (of course) and the crust was buttery and had the best texture! The toasted meringue was stunning aesthetically and tasted delicious as well! Well I'm pretty sure this is one of the longest reviews I've ever written on Yelp but it was worth every top of my finger and minute of my time. Oh wait I'm not done! The chef, ambiance and wait staff are all top notch! Chef Cardoza is hitting it out of the park with his food and just made a major mark on Boise I'm so happy we have an approachable, romantic, cozy, well decorated, spotless, location to enjoy his food. Our waiter was from France and lots of fun to talk with. He was very attentive and had great timing and knowledge of the menu. Every member of the staff that we interacted with were professional, very, very friendly, and very grateful that we were there which is a huge bonus! Sometimes that's rare these days. Sometimes you walk into a restaurant and you feel like you're putting them out or something. We felt very welcomed from the minute that we walked in and appreciated as we walked out. Thank you and please don't change a thing! Perfecto! We will certainly be back again soon!
