Same menu and taste , but smaller portions & salad is not included with the combo plates compared to dtsj. A recommended item is the beef oxtail, it's bomb.com & tender. Fantastic, cheap food, what more is there to say? They don't have indoor dining currently so we ordered takeout. We got the jerk chicken plate and the curry goat + oxtail plate. The jerk chicken plate was just right for 1 person, the curry goat + oxtail plate was enough for 2 people. The plaintains were very sweet. If I had one criticism it would be that the amount of rice+beans they give is definitely insufficient for the amount of meat and curry that is on the plate, but given that the plate size is limited it makes sense to me. read more

Yes, another Back A Yard location!!! I had a chance to visit this place today for lunch. The place is clean and well organized! It is smaller than the downtown location but its way cleaner! I actually stopped going to the downtown location due to its unclean and unsanitary facility! I ordered the Beef Oxtail with rice and plantains. It is as delicious as I remember! Fall off the bone Oxtail and the sauce in which it is braised is beyond amazing! It is truly a heavenly experience! I'll have to reacquaint myself with the rest of the menu! Walking in, this place was really nice and had a really good vibe to it. The cashier was okay at her job. We asked her questions about what was in the food such as the sautéed veggies, but she didn't know. I feel like her knowledge about the food and menu itself needs some improvement. On top of that, she charged us for an extra plate of Jerk Pork, but me and my bf don't eat pork. She didn't know how to make the refund, so I'm guessing the manager came to help her. The manager seemed really cool about the whole situation. She didn't seem to be mad at the cashier and she was happy to give us a refund on the Jerk Pork plate that we had gotten. She even offered to let me take a seat and enjoy my food while they were handling the refund process. For the rest of our dinner, the manager was really nice and asked us if we needed anything. The cashier seemed a bit mad bc she swore that we ordered that Jerk Pork plate, but she got over it. I went back to the cash register to order a large bottle of the Jerk sauce to take home and the cashier who had just clocked in, was on her phone. I didn't want to approach her bc she seemed to be busy on her phone, but she eventually looked up and helped me as the other cashier was helping other customers. This other cashier was nice, but I feel like using her phone at the front counter could be a problem. Overall, my food was good. I got the Jerk Chicken Pieces. It came with 2 legs and 2 thighs. The chicken was really juicy and flavorful. As for my bf, he got the jerk chicken sandwich and it came with fries. The chicken itself was breast, but the breast was really dry. I offered him one of my thighs and he said that the sandwich was much better with the thighs. We also got a bowl of macaroni and cheese. It was okay. The breaded part of the Mac was really soggy and tasted as if it had been made the previous day. Overall, I had a good experience, I just feel as though the cashiers need a little more experience with the menu and they should repeat the order back to the customer to avoid any confusions. I tired and shared the jerk chicken/salmon combo with rice and beans and fried plantains and it was enough to fill me up. But then again, I eat like a rabbit. The salmon was perfectly cooked and succulent and the chicken was tender and flavorful. My only problem was that I found it to be a little too salty. SO I kind of liked how the rice and beans were almost bland in a sense. It really helped add balance to all the flavors and spices and cut some of the saltiness. The plantains were also really yummy! Awesome little Caribbean Restaurant. I grew up watching Caribbean cricket on TV and the crowd always seemed to be partying. I wanted to try their food to see if that was the reason for their eternal merriment. To find out I walked into this place and it did not disappoint. The staff was extremely friendly and the guy taking the order acted as if we came over to his dorm party. I ordered the curry goat and Jerk Chicken plate. I tried and liked all the different sauces( original, mango habanero and hell fire). They do pack a punch even for someone like me who's accustomed to spicy food. Coconut rice was well cooked and a great pairing with the meat. Portions are generous and on the greasy side so if you are counting calories, go there to celebrate a weight goal or something but not for a casual meal. Ambience is casual and food is reasonably priced and arrived quickly. They do serve beer in case the spice gets to you. The girl at the register today really went above and beyond +++ Foodwise we split the combo chicken-pork plate. Good enough for 2 people unless you are really hungry..we added the corn bread which was very tasty as well as the mango juice.( Highly reccomend) I usually dont give five stars..but the overall taste of the food..great customer service and clean interior. Make it a "5" for me. The only thing I would say and it's just my personal taste.. is it was a bit too salty and oily for me. Stopped by on Thursday to grab some food with friends and just so happen the deal of the day was shrimp curry, both of my favorite items together in one dish. I must try and guess what? They've got some colorful window walls near the register. You walk up to order. We put in a to go order. Went with the Jerk Chicken and oxtail. It also came with rice and salad. and a jerk dressing on the side. The chicken was nice and tender. But the oxtail was the addicting part of it! It was super good and I really wanted more. I was introduced to Back A Yard by one of my closest friends while visiting San Jose and I highly recommend this place! I had the beef oxtail with jerk chicken and it reminded me of the plates I usually get when I visit my dad's side of the family who are from Belize! The meat is very tender right off the bone, and honestly I wish I had double up on the oxtail because it was so good. The atmosphere is great and I love the island vibe with the reggae music and colorful decorations. Would totally come here with friends to eat and have a good time with. I finally tried a beef patty and coco bread. This was my first time at this location. I've been to the Winchester location to finally try Jerk chicken (takeout). I liked that they had to cook from scratch and only took 10 minutes. I liked how flaky the patty crust was. The patty was delicious with a bit of habanero sauce poured on each bite. I was surprised that the coco bread did not have any sweet coconut flavor and that it was plain bread. It was still very good soft bread. I expected it to be sweet like "Spanish Bread" and I ended up spreading brown coconut jam on the inside. Can't wait to try the Jerk chicken plate again. Very good food. read more
