Literally a hidden gem. Evergreen Breakfast is tucked inside The Villages neighborhood as part of a strip mall that I didn't even know existed. Because of this, it's a pretty quiet spot and service is quick/attentive. It's quite a vast menu and we have only come for brunch; so far our favorites are the Korean Fried Chicken Waffle as well as the Sides - particularly the Ube and Pandan waffles. The KFC Waffle is a Pandan waffle (sense a theme? ) - it's such a good twist on the traditional dish. The other entrees we had were pretty good but not standouts like this. Added bonus: The Potato side options that come with most entrees are really good too. Baby Bear likes the curly fries and I like the potatoes with brussel sprouts - all of it crispy goodness. I am extatic that we found a great little restaurant on our side of town. My husband and I came in for breakfast and it was delicious and the service was great . I had the Asian fried chicken and waffle and the flavors were out of this world. The chicken was a boneless thigh and it was tender and loaded with Asian flavors. The waffle was cooked perfectly and tasted great without syrup. My husband had the Thai basil egg with beef and he said it was like loco moco with a Thai flair. I'm not a big fan of sourdough (my bad for not noticing it and requesting a different choice of bread) but this toast was very mild and in general it was perfectly seasoned, very tasty. Yelp led me astray! How does this place have almost 4 stars! First off, I walked in and it was empty. That should've been my first red flag. Ordered breakfast and had the 2 egg breakfast added ham for $4 extra. This was my breakfast! The ham was so dry and thin. The eggs were raw and no seasoning at all, the hash browns looked like the frozen type, and the one hard piece of sourdough was terrible. Unfortunately this is the second time I've tried this place and it's just not good. My daughter had fried noodles and those were good. This restaurant is so very cute and quaint located really in the heart of Evergreen. Not many tables when we came in but business did pick up after we sat down. There was only one server so that was new for me because originally I thought that the service was slow, however with the rest of my tables second opinions, I did come to realize that it was because he was the only server. I was surfing yelp for a last minute brunch spot in the area and came across this hidden gem. I came as a group of 3 and we were instantly seated as there wasn't a lot of people on a weekday morning at 11am. Our server was very nice and attentive, he was giving us time to decide what we'd like to order and was sure to check in on us/refill our waters every time it was low. I loved how he wasn't too needy since we were catching up on life and conversing a lot. I was craving something savory for brunch so I opted for their Asian dishes and got myself the Basil Egg Tornado. This is NOT like omurice! The egg was essentially like a plain omelet that was twisted before it finished cooking. It sat on top of plain jasmine rice. There wasn't a lot of flavor for the tornado so it was mainly to help balance the taste with the stir fry. On the side, it had the vegetables and protein, I chose chicken out of the three options. It was extremely flavorful without being overpowering. If it is too much for your flavor palette, the jasmine rice and tornado helps balance it out. You're able to choose spice levels for it, but a lot of places gauge it differently, so I asked how spicy medium was, and our server told me it wasn't super spicy... It was spicy for me, and super spicy if you eat the Thai chilis without seeing them in your bite. Thai chilis are super spicy! I had to pick out the chilis to enjoy the meal without suffering from a surprising bite of chili. Flavor wise, it was very flavorful. I tasted the subtle hints of fish sauce and oyster sauce which paired well with the vegtebles and chicken. Overall, I would rate the dish a 4/5. For my drink, I ordered a Strawberry Mimosa, the other option was a Regular Orange Mimosa. The drink itself tasted predominantly like champagne. I didn't really taste the strawberry in it. Based off of the color of the drink, it looks like it was champagne mixed with strawberry syrup. Since it tasted just like champagne, I would rate it a 3/5. Hidden gem is right! I'm usually hesitant to try Asian Fusion places as a lot of places end up being underseasoned and gimmicky. The flavors here though are wonderful with very much dimension! I got the Banh Mi Skillet, which was full of spices and flavors that were just right. All of the textures were well blended, every ingredient cooked to perfectly bring out their flavors, and the presentation was great. My table shared the Pandan Waffles which were super fluffy and the mochi texture was very fun. Most importantly, it was *not too sweet*! Any sweetness came from the dollops of whipped cream and fruits on the side. Lastly, the Thai Coffee (coffee with coconut milk) was as solid as can be! If you like coconut and coffee, go for it. There was no line on Sunday morning which is a wonderful relief in this busy city. Service was excellent and we even got in a good chat with our waiter (when it wasn't busy)! The side was supposed to be country potatoes, to my surprise their version of country potatoes are deep fried tater tots with some fried onions and tomatoes which were not good at all.
