The place is so pretty and decorations are so cool. Got sat really quickly and got drinks were given immediately. Food took about 15 mins to come out. Our server, Jazmin, was very sweet and attentive. Had a good experience !

Cool little diner with nostalgic decor. Lots of food choices. I went for the chili cheese dog. Very flavorful and they make their chili fresh in house. Staff was friendly too.

I stopped by one morning for breakfast, it is a classic diner with the food they serve and the interior as well. I got their breakfast combo for $10 that lets you pick what 3 items you'd like. I got the hash browns, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Nothing too special, but it's affordable breakfast food. Food came out quickly and there are definitely regulars that come here. Staff know their regulars well.

Been working through the menu and differing times of day. Today was ham and cheese omelette, country potatoes, pancakes and orange juice. Service, cleanliness, clientele etc all on point. Will return sooner than later.

We loved their nostalgic ambiance and enjoyed their foods. Services were friendly and attentive, refilled coffee often and make sure you have everything you needed.

came here because a friend said the milkshakes are amazing. that is the only good thing about this place. the food is nothing worth talking about and lacked seasoning. it's a typical 50s themed diner & saw a lot of families there which was sweet.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time doing a review. I was on the hunt for a good milkshake and I found it! I got a hamburger to go along with it and it was huge and good! I left a happy girl, what more can I say?

City Diner is a casual diner/breakfast place in San Jose near the Los Gatos Creek Trail. It's known for its milkshakes and unique decorations. They offer a $10 pick 3 breakfast combo and a diverse variety of breakfast foods. The service is great - our waiter topped off our coffee quickly and was very nice/accommodating. The savory food itself was a bit expensive and flavorless but could be fixed with s&p and ketchup. The pancakes were super fluffy and sized well.

A friend and I found this place about 2 1/2 years ago and we love it. I almost always get the steak sandwich and have never been disappointed with my choice. My friend changes things up and had tried many different things. (Tuna melt, Philly Steak, and many breakfasts) and she has loved all of it. Service is great and staff if friendly.

My favorite part of going here is the service. So attentive and friendly, I couldn't ask for better service. My second most favorite thing, of course, has to be the food. There's so much variety. From breakfast, to lunch, to dinner. From appetizers to their vast selection of old fashion style milkshakes with the extra served on the side. Their pricing is competitive but portions are generous so you definitely get your money's worth(we always have leftovers enough for another meal). This is a photo of the taco salad I had today...delicious! The fresh pico de gallo was perfect with it. For dessert...get the flan...it's so rich and creamy...yum!

This time it was around noon, so my wife had the mini version of the Mexicano omelette, and I had the American burger with a grilled jalapeño on the side in addition to the french fries and avgolemono soup. My cup of soup came first and I enjoyed it. It was creamy and had chicken breast and rice in it along with a nice lemony tang. My wife enjoyed her omelette, even eating her hashbrowns, which I was surprised to see. Usually, she leaves them for me. She must've been hungry! The hamburger is a half pound of ground Angus beef before cooking and comes with lettuce and tomato and in my case cheddar cheese instead of American. That grilled jalapeño was an extra charge, but that was fine. It came on the side (as does a good dill pickle) and I took occasional bites from it to enjoy the heat On a Saturday as you might expect there was a bit of a weight but not more than 10 or 12 minutes I would say. Their own parking lot can fill quickly, but they have additional spaces available in the parking lot immediately adjacent, but be sure to follow the markings on the sign that indicate where you can park for their restaurant. I'm not sure why this cut of chicken was used. The fries were alright, but they did not come with the sandwich and cost an additional $5. Our total came to almost $90 for three entrees with no beverages. I was especially frustrated because my sandwich was inedible.
