Took our daughter over for breakfast and staff really treated her well! Highly recommended for a 21st birthday breakfast.... The mimosa she got was one of a kind! This is not your grandma's mimosa restaurant! But if your grandma is cool she will like this place. Service Food and One of a kind bday huuuuuuge mimosa served with crazy straws.
We've been twice now and the service was great the first time but slow and inattentive the second. Both times we were there with a mostly full restaurant. With so few breakfast options in the area for corned beef or Benedict it's decent food. The bacon chicken waffle was just ok. Skinny chicken strips with buffalo favor and semi cooked bacon in the waffle. . The Benedict met the expectations for Benedict. Likely to be back just know I wouldn't probably order that again
Mimosashas a variety of menu items available. I've had an omelet that was super bland that I didn't care for, but have ordered several other items like the chili Verde that were extremely tasty. The interior of this location could definitely use some updates but nothing glaringly bad. The service is always friendly.
Went for Brunch today we've been here before but it is under new ownership and we are so happy we came ! First let me tell you about our server her name is Maria and she made our visit so unforgettable she's a pistol ! And was on top of all our requests, the food is so flavorful the quesobirria was so delicious my sister said best taco she's ever had and we eat a lot of tacos ! we all tried it and agree, the chilaquiles were also very flavorful ! The owner came out and greeted us. I can't say this enough but you need to check it out and ask for Maria !
TLDR: 2 Stars, only because the food was decent and the waitress was nice. Billing practice is shady So yesterday I took a dip by Mimosas in San Jose. I've been there once before years ago and thought it was decent. So yesterday, the food was fine, but nothing memorable, no biggie. So we got the bill, noticed the charges, and while I thought it was a little questionable, but fine. I paid with card. The waitress came back with the receipt for me to sign, in which I realized the price on the receipt isn't the price on the bill. She overheard me talking to my guy about it and mentioned that it was the system that automatically up charges if a CC is used. Now I'm not against the policy, if I was made aware of it. But I think this is sneaky practice to bill someone one total and charge them another without proper notice. I won't be going back, but in the event you're thinking about going there, just a heads up.
Went here for my boyfriend's birthday and it's a nice cozy spot if you're a drinker. The serving of the food is also very generous so it's worth the price. I would say the quality of the food was OK. I loved the waffles and the hashed browns. The service was also quite fast, surprisingly! I'm not a drinker but we had the mimosa and it was nice, light, and sweet!
Good brunch place if you wanna have Mimosas! Super Mimosa is gigantic and try it at your own risk! We got the Lychee Mimosa which was awesome. Loved the Mimosa but that Crab and Shrimp omelette just did not hit the right chords. I have had much better breakfast omelettes. The Nutella S'mores French toasts was pretty darn good with the right ingredients. Highly recommended. Place has potential and I'm gonna come back to try other menu options.
I haven't been to Mimosas in awhile. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. When we walked in there was not a customer or employee in sight. Finally, a few minutes later, a gentleman popped up from the back. He directed us to pick a table. We chose a table by the window. We ordered the Fire Chilaquiles and substituted chorizo with sausage and a Meat Lover's Skillet with a Super Mimosa. I hate to be brutally honest but the smell of Fabuloso is disturbing. It kind of affected my taste buds. I would give it another chance.
Stopped by for a Sunday Brunch. This is the spot to be! Good menu options, a variety of brunch drinks, and cool vibes all around. We had to wait about 20 minutes before getting seated but it went by fast. Put yourself on the waitlist via Yelp once you're headed out. We ordered a little bit of everything and it all tasted wonderful. There are these super gigantic mimosas that looked like a lot of fun if you're with a big group to share. Waffles were fantastic. Would return in a heartbeat!
$12 BIG glass of Mimosa! It comes with one glass of champagne. Can't beat that. I couldn't finish my cup so it's def a drink for two. I ordered the corn beef hash breakfast plate. It was good but the hash brown was too salty...more salty than a hash normally is. Our server was awesome. It was a Friday early afternoon when we went so it was dead...just my group and a few others. Will def return. Lots of parking available
New owners, the food was delicious! The best Bria tacos I ever had! Our waitress Maria was amazing, very attentive and kind! Food came out fast hot chips and salsa was on the table as we sat down and Maria was right there to refill our drinks and chips before we had to ask! I recommend everyone give this restaurant a try, you won't be disappointed!

This is in the previous Mama Dao's location (I miss that place). We got there when it opened to beat the wait for a Sunday morning and we were first lol. It was cold and they had the ceiling fans on full blast and the back door open. It wasn't hot enough for all that at 8am. The food was mediocre. The Denver omelette my friend had was full of huge undercooked tomatoes and peppers. We ate it, so it wasn't bad but we thought it would be better. The waitress was friendly and nice. I'm not sure we'd be back. read more
Small lil SJ staple located at a strip mall This that place you wanna come and enjoy some tasty eats ...and a big arse mimosa cocktail called a 'super'. But it doesnt just stop at mimosas, they can do bloodys, chiladas & margheritas too! These are big enough to share or handle one to yourself And... they serve brunch/lunch ...shieeehhh --see their menu-- When my wife n i stopped in, she got the chicken fried steak and i had the french toast ...both bomm! they can get busy here so come sooner than later. Price aint bad neither so indulge yourself read more

Started my birthday morning here. My first impression was to walk out. It's kinda dingy and dirty looking and is in much need of an update. When I sat at the booth I sunk so far down that my chin was almost on the table and I'm a tall girl. Anyways, hubby convinced me to give it a try and I'm so glad we did! The food is freakin amazing!!! I'm talking slap yo mama good seasoned to perfection! I had the veggie skillet and my veggies were slightly charred like I love them. I was tempted to lick my freakin plate but the waitress took my plate before I could. The food along with this gigantic mimosa was the perfect start to a great day. I see why this place is so popular; the atmosphere may not be on point but the food definitely makes up for it. P.s. Those big drinks are like $35 but just get it...unless you only plan on having one drink... yeah right, who you fooling?? read more
I have mixed feelings about this spot. The crepe that I got here was excellent. They have a full bar and it looks like they are famous for their extra-large mimosas that come in this giant glass based on how many I saw at the tables. The things that give me pause...they are cash only...though I ordered on the phone, it looked like they prepared it only when I got in which resulted in a wait that I was trying to avoid...the crowd was a little sketchy ... the older waiter who "helped me" was loose with his mask and very curt. read more
This cute hole in the wall brunch place serves standard brunch with good portion sizes. We came here on a Saturday afternoon, were immediately seated and had our food brought out to us fairly quickly. This place is known for their gigantic mimosas (need to come back for one of them) but they also have great brunch options. I got the Mexicali Benedict with no chorizo (sub mushrooms and spinach for no additional cost). It was pretty good, and I highly recommend trying the country potatoes since they were seasoned perfectly. Unfortunately I did find a hair in my plate and my friend found some mold on her toast but, other than that it was a good experience. read more

Atmosphere: There's lots of outdoor and indoor seating. They definitely wipe the tables because I smelled a lot of alcohol. Service was great the waitress and the host were very friendly and attentive. Food: Needs a lot of work which is why I am giving it a two stars. My friends and I got stomach aches afterwards from the scrambled eggs/omelette which was very bland. The Chilaquiles were a no go. If you want to get the poops afterwards then this is for you if you like laxatives. Drinks: Drinks was perfectly priced for around $33 for a gigantic mimosa to share with 3 to 4 people I would say it's worth it. I recommend getting the mix of passionfruit, orange, and guava. It came out to be a really good mix and you will definitely feel it for sure. read more

I ordered via Doordash. We ordered 3 meals & 2 18oz orange juices. They forgot the syrup for pancakes, chocolate sauce for chocolate pancakes & my sour cream and salsa for my breakfast burrito. The orange juice is advertised as 18oz but they're using 12oz cups. I measured the cups myself, I'm not assuming based on looks. The price was already steep but I let it slide because I was craving OJ. But to provide 1/3 less than what is advertised is a rip off. I messaged them on Facebook regarding my complaint but they never responded even though it shows they viewed the message. I followed up 6 days later with no response again(it's been another 2 days since I sent the last message). Very poor customer service & the food was so bland for the cost. I do not recommend going here at all. PS-Doordash only offered a couple dollar credit even though all our meals were missing essential ingredients. read more

Very underrated breakfast/brunch place in South San Jose. Food here is very flavorful and portions are on the generous side. I never leave here feeling hungry...their menu is huge too. Wide variety of breakfast usuals and burgers/sandwiches. Most entrees are in the $15-$20 range; which is same range as places in San Jose such as Bill's and Scramblz. I always get the chicken fried steak plate. It comes with a chicken fried steak (very tender), a huge biscuit with gravy, 2 eggs and country potatoes. I also like the pancakes here, they are huge. Very sweet too...it eats like a dessert almost! If you came here to drink, they got you covered! Lots of different mimosas, chavelas, and other drinks. They have a good selection of hard liquor too. Their famous super mimosas is $35! Ambiance wise, it's comfortable but a little dark inside. It sits in a tiny strip mall with very limited parking. If you don't know the area, it may be easy to miss. Service is also hit or miss too. I never had "horrible" service but there have been times when it definitely could have been better. I'm glad they made it through the pandemic! Always a satisfying meal at Mimosas! read more

This is the spot for mimosas! Came here during the week to have breakfast- pretty good! I can see why there were hardly any photos of their friend chicken benedicts, HOWEVER, if you're looking for flavors from your abuela's or aunty's house serving up some chilaquilas-- this is the spot!! I also didn't understand their hashbrowns being fried on one side only, BUT I GET IT NOW! It was sooo good, and a lot of breakfast spots don't know how to make good side potatoes but this spot is killing it! P.S. we also didn't drop $35 bucks on their big size mimosas because we can't commit to just one flavor only, but their individual sized mimosas is pretty largo on it's own and the server knew the perfect ratio of juice to champagne!! Will definitely be back in the future! 4 stars only because I got small sized chicken tenders underneath my benedicts lol. read more
This place is ok. I wouldn't recommend it for food but the mimosas are fine with a lot of flavor options. There's a 1 hr time limit (which I understand bc every brunch place has time limits but an hour felt short) and they make it very clear they want you to leave without verbally asking you to once that hour is up. The music only plays inside, if it could play outside that's be way better, but I like the music played. The staff are friendly and the bathroom is clean but they're not very attentive and forgot an orange juice that was ordered. We got two large mimosas, two steak and egg meals, chicken fried steak, berry French toast, banana walnut waffles and "chicken" and bacon waffles. The French toast and banana walnut waffles were good. The chicken fried steak was a large size but the biscuit that came with it was dry, it all around lacked flavor. The steak and eggs had barely any seasoning on it. I will note the hash browns were perfect. I honestly laughed when the chicken and bacon waffle came out. Four very small sized chicken pieces that were over cooked and rubbery, however it was better seasoned than the other items and there was a reasonable amount of bacon in the waffle itself. The mimosas were good and came with a couple slices of fruit. I don't think it was worth the $220 (w tip) cost for the quality but it was still a fine brunch place to go to with extra large mimosas. Wouldn't go back, wasn't worth the trip from Oakland but would probably recommend to friends who just want that brunch aesthetic who already live in San Jose. read more

Came here on a Sunday, but for dinner because we knew we couldn't handle the infamous wait time. I came a bit after opening for dinner (around 4:15pm). Dinner is CASH ONLY and there's a liquor store or 7-11 nearby to grab money from. There seemed to be only one person working in the beginning, then another server came by towards the end of our meal. Things seemed to be hectic for our server because he was also the bartender and table cleaner. Even though we came at dinner time and there was a dinner menu, we asked if we can order breakfast food, and they said yes! We got the lychee mimosas, a steak omelette, and hot chilaquiles. The drinks are quite big, look at our hands! (or do we have small hands? ) They're around $9. We were considering the famous giant mimosa but since it was jus the two of us, we didn't want to get to turnt. However, we saw a couple nearby us order one of those, finish it, and order additional mimosas for themselves. I felt a slight buzz but it went away after I ate my dish. One thing is, though.... the mimosas were room temperature. Maybe even a bit warm? For the food, the hot chilaquiles are HOT. I can handle my spice well, and this had me sweating. I love how flavorful their potatoes were and this dish is definitely something you can share or eat for two meals because the portions were BIG. For the steak omelette, it was a simple but tasty omelette. We ate it with Tabasco sauce. Cleanliness was questionable, specifically indoors and the bathroom (the inside had a weird musty smell) but the outside tables and chairs were okay. The tables weren't cleaned when I came so they were cleaned as we sat down. Overall, I think the experience was nice for a brunch in SJ and the mimosas were tasty. The servings were so big! I want to come back to try the other flavors and also to try the giant mimosa. :) read more

Could have better customer service. Besides that food was great I always come here for the chilaquiles I usually prefer the red but decided to try the green they were good but red chilaquiles are definitely better. We sat outdoors on a beautiful sunny day it was very relaxing. read more

Went here with a few friends for brunch and thankfully the line wasn't too long. We put our spot in line through yelp and was able to get seated in 15 mins. They have nice outdoor seating and once we were seated I ended up ordering: *mango mimosa - this was strong and delicious and the cool thing was that the mimosa came in many different flavors which was awesome! *chilaquiles - this came with eggs and chorizo and salsa and cheese and I really enjoyed this! This also came house potatoes which was delicious as well Overall pretty good meal and definitely try a mimosa if you're here! read more
Came on a Saturday morning and it was surprisingly empty in here so we were sat and attended to very quickly. The food didn't take too long to get to the table after we ordered and the mimosa was faster. The mimosa definitely has a strong champagne taste so if you really hate the alcohol flavor it may not be for you but I personally wished I had one of my own when I tried it. The food was great omelette was very filling and the avocado that went on top was perfectly ripe. Usually I find omelettes fall apart easily or aren't very flavorful but this one stayed together and made for a perfect tasty bite. I chose the potato's which I loved they had just the right amount of veggies; I don't believe the menu says what's in the potatoes but to me it was easy to tell they're made with chorizo. Parking is pretty scarce. read more

Ask the Community - Mimosas Cafe
Is this restaurant open? Can we make reservations?
The restaurant is open. We went there a couple of months ago. I don't know about reservations, but you can get your name on the list for a table through Yelp! That would have saved us a half hour of waiting if we knew about it in advance.
Do they have unlimited mimosas?
No bottomless mimosas here. Just very large ones that might be equivalent!
Is this place dog friendly?
I doubt they have anything against dogs, however, the restaurant isn't that big and does not have outdoor seating, so, I would venture to say it's not a place I would bring my dog.
Are there any vegan options?
Yes we have a veggie skillet, veggie benedict and other options.
