    Garlic Fried Chicken Bowl
    Linh N.

Final Thoughts: 4.33/5 They were our caterer for a work party. This is a food truck and they seem to have everything ready to be served to us. Asian fusion foods are typically my go-to choice and so I was very excited that they were providing us food today. Food: Garlic Fried Chicken Bowl: 4.3/5 The sauce on this is divine with the chicken. It's like an unagi sauce with garlic in it. It has some saltiness, sweetness, and that umami flavor. Garlic taste and scent is present, but not too overpowering, which I really enjoyed. That flavor is great, but some places really overdo it for me. Just a personal preference though. For the chicken itself, it's very tender and juicy on the inside and still has some of that nice crunch on the outside. Perhaps this is because the cut of meat is the chicken thigh. It's not super crispy because I don't believe this is being fried to order for us. Seems to be food held in a warmer until its ordered. Kimchi was the side that they had provided with this dish and I am here for that. Some people aren't the biggest fan of this and I saw that from the looks my coworkers gave it. Personally, very much enjoyed it though. That sourness and spice from the kimchi just balances out this bowl really well. The veggies are nice and crispy. Gives it that freshness. Also, very slight detail and addition, but I always enjoy the sesame seeds and furikake sprinkle as a garnish. There's a nice nuttiness to it that they provide as a simple garnish. Spicy Tuna Poké: 4.0/5 This item was alright. The flavor was also really good, but I did get tired of eating just one type of poke protein. Typically when I go to get poke, it's 2 to 3 scoops of different proteins with various sauces to change up the flavor. I did get tired of this one after a few bites. The flavor of this item was very good though. There's a nice kick from it and the flavor tastes like a mix of kewpie mayo, soy sauce, sriracha, and sugar. Very simple, but you can't go wrong with those flavors. For the side, they added seaweed salad. Again, not your average side dish. Personally, I enjoyed it, but it might not be a common or familiar side dish for other individuals. It has a nice sweetness and nuttiness to it. For texture, there's a nice bite to it, which is ncie since the tuna is very soft and doesn't contribute much to the texture component. Menu: Small Their menu seems quite limited, but again, that is normal for a food truck, I believe. The items they provide do it just fine for me. I appreciate that they also have an option for the vegetarians. The menu we were provided was limited to 4 items, which is fine since the scale of this party wasn't anything too wild and we were able to satisfy everyone with what they provided. --------- Quality: Alright The quality of the food seems OK. It came out within a few minutes for us and I don't think it takes just a few minutes to fry that piece of chicken. I could be wrong though, so no one quote me on that. Just an observation. Not the highest expectations because their limited to the space and area in general. The product they provide is very good though. Overall, for something that has raw seafood in it, it seemed quite fresh and tasty. The items aren't made to order either and it's more assemble and serve to order, but again, they seem to be making it work with the product that they are selling. Price: Estimated Because this was a catering event, I am actually unaware of how much my administrator paid for the food. What I know is that she paid for a certain amount of bowls. From the looks of this item though, I want to estimate the price of each bowl being around $16 to $20 depending on the food item provided. Seems quite average for a bowl of food these days. Service: Quick and fast Because most of the food is already prepared and ready, the interaction with them itself is very limited. They took our order and provided us with the food. Nothing too significant to note and that is to be expected with the food truck. They were very sweet though and explained the menu items to be when I had a question. Ambiance: Simple and cute food truck The design on their food truck is so cute. The riceball is my favorite because it has this very cute face and just looks darling to me. The outside has a simple design with the name and logo on top and then perhaps some of the food items they provide written on the bottom section of the truck. Doesn't seem like anything too fancy, but simplicity is best for me. Location/Parking: Wherever they travel and navigate to Because they're a food truck, they can drive to you, which is really convenient. On Yelp, it states that their located on 36 Commercial Street in downtown, which might be where their truck is serving most of the time. Again, it is a food truck though, so they have the ability to drive to you and travel around to their customers, which is quite convenient is reaching a broader group of people.

Great food! I think this is the first of few food trucks where I said "the food is delicious and great price!" I have Fire and Rice on my to try list for awhile so very happy we got to try it. The food was really good. I got the poke nachos and it's made with the wonton chips. Super crispy but well balanced with the poke and dressing. The service is good as well and they are super friendly people. Will definitely be back for more food here!

    Tuna BOMB and musubi

TLDR: REALLY Awesome Musubi! Great Tuna Bombs too! Came to Morgan Hill for their first annual Open Streets!, the second week of May. Actually came to support my sis who had a booth there. Well, I was hungry, and while we were walking around, we came to this lunch truck. I'll be honest... we came to try it because of the name. LOVE the pun! I love a good food truck pun! It was around lunch time, but we had a big brunch already, so we wanted something light. So we ordered 2 Musubis for $9 ($1 off) and the Tuna Bomb, because my wife thought it sounded interesting. First, the Tuna bomb... it's Tuna poke with some rice, inside the shell of that Japanese Tofu. Kinda like a taco. Got some drizzle on top as well. It was a bit messy to eat with our hands, but it was Da BOMB as the kids used to say... Ahem. yeah we enjoyed that a lot. The fish was fresh, and it had a very bright refreshing taste. Kinda perfect for such a hot day. Now the Musubi. I've had many a musubi in Hawaii. This rivals all the best ones. The spam was seared so well. A bit stiff outside, which is the way I like it. And the sauce on the rice, puts it over the edge. It DEFINITELY beats out the ones from L&L, THAT'S for sho! The guy was really patient with us, very friendly. He made us feel right at home, and didn't rush us or anything. If we come back to Morgan Hill, we'll DEFINTELY make room for the musubi. And maybe even try some of their other tasty offerings.

    Already dug in...lol!

We had the truck outside of the office today. Made sure to get out there at 11 when they got there as I knew there would be a line if I didn't. Good call too, only 2 ppl in line when we got there. After I ordered I looked back at the line and there were st least 12 people whom showed up out of nowhere. I was going to order the poke bowl but decided on the chicken bowl instead because I knew I had a long day today. Glad I did. They served me a chicken thigh and a half, kimchee slaw and 2 scoops of rice. The chicken was well seasoned. Crispy. Garlicky. Juicy. Shoyu-y...lol! Delicious. Kimchee slaw was the perfect pair to the chicken. I also purchased a Hawaiian Sun because they had my fave flavor: Lilikoi Lychee! Also picked up 2 spam musubi..1 for dinner and 1 for my boss. This truck is legit. I hope they come back, I'd like to try their poke bowl next! Don't forget to tip people!!!!! They accept all major credit cards, apple/Google pay and also Venmo and Zelle.

I tried this food truck the other day and was so excited because I love Asian cuisine. The lady who helped me was very nice and helpful. I waited about 10 minutes for my meal and ordered the K-pop garlic chicken with lava sauce on the side. The K-Pop chicken was fried chicken in sauce over white rice with green onions. It was very delicious and I would love to get it again with all lava sauce or even try something new on the menu. I passed this food truck and was intrigued by there menu

    Garlic Fried Chicken - $12

Pricey. My bf paid $12 for a small boat of garlic fries chicken and $7 for a small boat of over fried tater tots. This foot truck was located right outside Hapa's Brewing when we visited and did the job for a quick bite as it was the only option to order food from when we visited on a Friday afternoon. Will not return.

Try this food truck at the Phillipine independent festival by Flea Market - The line was very long, over 30 min wait but the food is not worth it. The chicken was soft and a bit too sweet... and the after taste is yucky..like the meat was not fresh. The musubi is so good.. it could have been better if the rice is not soggy Over all not worth it

Two words: Garlic. Chicken. It was so flavorful, cooked and fried just right, and probably once of the best I've tried in a while -- and it was from a truck! I definitely heard of this truck before, but never pursued them. I found 'em at the Flea and I'm so glad for it! Definitely recommend trying the chicken, and I don't doubt that the rest of the menu pleases as well!

So I'm a little bit confused why there are pictures of onigiri all over this truck when they don't even sell it. It was a bit misleading. But nevertheless, the food was still very good. I ordered the Kahlua pig tots and they were so tasty and delicious and plentiful. I could only eat half, so I saved the rest for another day. Pop them in the air fryer and a crisp back up. Nevertheless, I was expecting to order onigiri. I think if this place wasn't so misleading I would definitely give them five stars because the food was good. But they honestly should reconsider their logos.

Fire and Rice is my jam!! I'm always on the hunt for a good food truck and especially one that does Hawaiian. I feel like Hawaiian Food trucks are so hard to come by in the Bay Area. I came across this food truck via Yelp and what really caught my eye was their unique take on musubis and the garlic fried chicken. They offer a nice variety of items such as deconstructed musubis, poke tots, kalua tots, K-pop chicken, rice bowls, poke bowls and a few sides. I love that they offer so much and it's different than your average Hawaiian food spot, they put a twist on everything and I love it. My absolute favorite dish here is the Garlic Fried Chicken Bowl, it so decadent and amazing. It's a crispy fried chicken thigh dipped in their shoyu sauce and served over steamed rice and a side of kimchi slaw. The garlic fried chicken is very garlicky and I love it. The chicken thigh is very thick and meaty, always cooked to perfection and moist. I love to dip it in their house side which tastes like a spicy aioli. This truck is quite hard to come by as they are only out a couple of days during the week (unless the have private events) in either SJ, Mountain View or Morgan Hill as well as the weekends. So if you ever see their truck please make sure to stop by, you won't be disappointed!

Surf and turf spam musubi, garlic chicken with egg, pulled pork tots
    Allyson R.

I paid by card. I happened to see them parked near a farmer's market and it smelled really good, so I decided to give them a try. They were Covid ready with employees wearing masks and customers required to wear masks. I ordered the pulled pork tots, garlic chicken, and surf and turf spam musubi. The garlic chicken and surf and turf spam musubi were delicious!!!! I think the garlic chicken would be amazing if it were spicy. I will probably ask if they could make it spicy next time. The pulled pork was ok, a little on the dry side, but the tater tots underneath it were good. I would recommend this place and would go back to try other items.

I had been craving a musubi for a while now and came across this food truck on Yelp while looking for the best ones around. After a few months of following them on Instagram and hoping they would be in my city, I decided I was tired of waiting and went out to Morgan Hill to finally check them out. It was definitely worth the trip out there! The food was great, served up quickly, and was a reasonable price. The surf and turf musubi was awesome! Loved the flavor of the sauce on the shrimp. Chicken was also good, had a lot of flavor. Would've like to try the chicken as a musubi too, it was listed on their website but they didn't have it the day of. Also loved that the musubi had egg!! In my opinion, no musubi is complete without egg.

Finally made it a point to catch them this past Saturday! They park on Depot street between Main and 1st Streets, parked in front of the Bike Therapy shop. There's tables setup between Bike Therapy and the Running Shop & Hops (beer place). You can grab a cold beer and enjoy with your poke! We loved all the items we got! The fried chicken was tender and juicy and crunchy and sticky just like how Korean fried chicken usually is. The poke was well cut and the flavors were awesome. Right amount of spice. They also have Hawaiian Sun drinks which hit the spot on a 100 degree day. We can't wait to go back! Next time we look forward to trying the kalua pork tots! Mmmm If you're missing Hawai'i, get your fix at Fire & Rice food truck!

Our number got called up pretty quick so we didn't have to wait very long for the pizza to be done (5 minutes tops). Some pepper/cheese packets available for additional toppings. The whole thing was given to us in a pizza box which made for pretty easy transport at the market. It's actually nice they they're not as sauce heavy as other pizza spots (I can't actually partake in tomato anymore, so the fact they had options for me was neat too). We settled on the Chorizo for a more cheese-heavy and tomato free experience. Toppings were very fresh and the bottom/crust had a nice airy crispiness that made it worth eating to the last bite. Had a medium amount of heat to it with the jalapenos, but not too much without them. Remarkably flavorful and really well done (the little chorizo bites were quite popping, but so were the cheese bits). Definitely grab something from them if you're on the hunt for good pizza on the go.

Service: The only two people in the truck were SUPER nice and very accommodating however there were a couple of issues on their end. 1) My total was $29. I gave the cashier $40. I was handed $9 back. After saying that I was shorted change, awkwardness ensued. It was an honest mistake and they gave me the right amount back so I just shrugged it off. 2) When I picked up my food, I ordered 1 Taco, 1 Torta, and 1 Combo (3x tacos, 1 Consume, and 1 Horchata). Even during peak hours when the place is packed, I've never waited long to be seated, and the food always comes out quickly. I've worked my way through their menu: doner wraps, kebab plates, and a variety of sides; and every single dish has been a hit. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The consistency here is impressive, which is something I value highly in any restaurant. I already loved Mediterranean food, but BAHO's Turkish offerings really surprised me. Fresh vegetables, bold and flavorful sauces, and perfectly seasoned, savory meats come together in a way that feels both comforting and exciting. Keep in mind that the doner wrap is served in a bag because it can get messy, but if you remember those old Carl's Jr. commercials: "If it doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face". Update (04/19/26): What's the point of staying open late if half the menu isn't available?…read more We got back late from a trip and specifically called in to order chole bhature, since this is one of the few places near us open till midnight. However, we were told that bhaturas (and anything fried) aren't available after 10 PM, which was really disappointing. We were instead offered chole kulche, and since we didn't have many late-night options, we agreed. We were told the order would be ready in 15-20 minutes, but when we arrived, the food already felt cold, like it had been sitting out for a while. It got worse when we reached home--the kulchas were burnt, making the meal quite unpleasant. After a long day of travel, this was the last thing we expected. We were too tired to go back, but honestly, this was not acceptable. If you're advertising late hours, the quality and availability should match. This experience was really disappointing.

I stumbled upon this place one day while doing my random walk, so you KNOW I had to give this place a try. I had went in upon opening time, so my wait was a little bit, but I was not complaining because you know what they say: "Greatness comes when you build them up one by one." I got their hamburger with the extra cheese, and curly fries. The patty was extra juicy, and the brioche buns were toasted really well. I especially like how they added on the cheese after the patty was marinated on the grill for quite a while, but not too long to the point all of the juice was sucked up. The only down side to the food: the prices. Be prepared to spend quite a bit on lunch if you decide to go to this place, because they do end up charging quite a bit more than what the regular places around Downtown would. But the IPA beers make up for it, so it's also worth a bang for your buck. Hospitality was pretty top-notch -- my order was taken in an orderly fashion, and they even apologized for the wait as well. I hope Scratch Cookery stays around for a long while so that people can try out such majestic wonders this establishment has to offer! Ambiance was great, and I'd definitely be back again!

I kept hearing about their hot chicken sandwiches for years, and we finally made the trek to check them out. The Good: * Friendly service * Prices aren't too bad considering the portion size and flavor. * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Craft brews in cans * Seven levels of heat for everyone from the spice-averse to the hardcore fire lover. * Chicken sandwiches are massive and delicious. And despite it being a breast, they kept it very juicy. * Really loved their fries; I'm not sure if they make them in-house or if they're frozen, but regardless, they're fantastic. The Meh: * Not much in the way of drinks except for the aforementioned beers and cans of soda. The Ugly: * It's located in DTSJ, so you'll most likely have to pay for parking. If you don't mind walking a few blocks, the 4th St Garage is free for the first 90 min. Conclusion: Great spot to get your spice on.
