A friend told me about this place. The food was fantastic, everything from the beer queso, to the homemade pasta salad, to the jerk chicken and pineapple quesadillas. The wet burrito was the size of a football. The best part? They have half priced bottles of wine on wednesdays! read more

We got carryout here twice and it was all good! They offer something for everyone, which is nice for families with picky eaters. My fish tacos and beer queso were very nice! read more

My 3rd time here. Everything I have had so far is Excellent. I'm just going to try everything on the menu. Service is also Great. More to come when I'm finished with every Item offered. read more

The food was delicious. My wife and I had the Drunken Burrito and we both thought it was excellent. Definitely would go back to try and other menu items. Very small place but well worth going. Beer Cheese Queso, Drunken Burrito Service was excellent. read more

We stopped here because we wanted to eat outside and it was close to our condo. The food was less than underwhelming - bland. Everything seemed to come from a can or a Gordon's Food Service box that didn't have any taste. The waitstaff was attentive and we had no complaints with them, other than the fact that they charged a large group tax (we are a family of 6 and this has never happened to us before). I hope that it was a fluke with the menu, but sadly, we would not return. read more

Just a great little spot to stop in for a bite to eat. Staff is nice and the restaurant is clean. Their jerk seasoning is on point.

This place was a little hard to find if you're unfamiliar with the area, but it was well worth the hunt. I have very picky kids, and they absolutely loved the sweet potato fries. My husband ordered the drunkin burrito, which was HUGE and tasted amazing. I got the jerk chicken tacos, and I'm not sure what sauce they put on it, but I asked for extra and dunked my tacos in it. It was fantastic. The service was great as well. Our server was very friendly and helpful and her recommendations were spot-on. Definitely visit if you're in the area! read more

Great little spot, food was amazing. The Cuban was great and the new shrimp and grits with a Thai flare were awesome! Would definitely recommend this little out of the way place. read more

I have never left a negative review before as I worked as a server when younger and am usually not one to complain, however, this was the worst dining experience I've had in while. After ordering our food, almost an hour went by without our server coming back to our table. We had to wave down a separate server to ask about our food who said it would just be a few more minutes. The food took another 30 minutes and when it came it was below average at best. The chicken was dry and the food was bland and flavorless. All in all we arrive at the restaurant at 7:30, put in our orders before 8, then got our food at 9. We expected to get a discount off our check for waiting over an hour for our food but instead were greeted with a single slice of pie as an apology for the 4 of us. I would recommend avoid this place at all cost as the service and food were both terrible. read more

We were very pleased with our experience our hostess and waitress were both very friendly and we were seated promptly. Atmosphere: we ate outside as inside was a little too crowded the outside seating was nothing special, picnic tables in a parking lot but we were fine with that in this pandemic. The inside looked quaint and bathroom was clean, so while I wouldn't come for ambiance alone, it wasn't a turn off either. Service and staff: as mentioned previously the wait staff was very nice and knowledgeable. They told us right away what dishes were sold out and they were prompt with everything. They made good recommendations and I got a sense that they took great pride in their restaurant Food: food was excellent and at a reasonable price! I got the wet burrito with Cajun shrimp and it was huge and yummy All-in-all I highly recommend Back 40 A1A and would definitely come back! read more

A pleasant surprise. Their re-fried pork is amazing in their tacos. Cool local vibe and get local hot sauce. Definitely worth stopping by if/when you are in St. Augustine. read more

Pub food beachy feel reasonable prices. Very convenient to most properties in crescent beach

Cute little place tucked away in a corner. Food was good for the price point. Staff was very nice but.... mercy we weren't warned it was going to take an hour (literally) to get 2 entrees. If we'd known we perhaps would have an ordered an appetizer or something to calm the growling tummy's LOL. Hopefully that'll get worked out soon as it was a neat little spot. read more

Good food and service. The jerk chicken is tasty. The wet burrito was excellent. Would recommend.

Local spot, very casual, has a good menu, solid prices and beer selection. Tacos are good, chips and salsa and pasta salad are amazing side dosages. Caribbean meatball sub is weirdly awesome. Large portions and friendly servers. Great lunch/happy hour chill spot in the neighborhood! read more

Awesome! Our first night in town, it was close by. What the heck. Nice beer selection, including some local stuff. Pub type menu, friendly atmosphere. I met some of the locals (always a good sign) made some new friends. My wife and I had the Cuban sandwich. The cole slaw I got as my side was very good, freshly made. The Cuban was perfect, pressed just right, ratio of cheese-to-meat & pickle was excellent. Definitely gonna be back again! read more

Burrito was huge and tasted great. Service was great and not too crowded. Never had a bad meal here.

We came a few days ago and the meal was so good we came back again tonight. The food is delicious and prepared to perfection and our meals tasted like they were prepared by an experienced chef. Pleasing menu for our kids as well as the adults. Great ambiance and staff are amazing! We will totally be back again! Thank you Jordan! read more

Beautiful clean restaurant....... The walls are covered in beautiful artwork for purchase! Excellent meal. Wonderful service. It's a small restaurant on the side of a plaza, 2 wait staff work together to handle the tables, together. They did a great job. We had beer cheese nachos for Appetizer, wonderful flavor! I had a salad with my Cuban sandwich. The salad was super fresh, well made, they had the most interesting dressing choices. Excellent choice for anyone looking for a good place to eat lunch or dinner. Or just sit at the bar awhile with friends! read more

Corner strip mall eatery. Easy to drive by if you're not looking carefully. We have been for both lunch and dinner. Tonight was dinner on $3 taco night. The tacos are good, but big on lettuce ($3 taco night). Only wine and beer (3 taps). chips and salsa were good. Wait staff was timely, courteous and accurate. It's a favorite by locals. Local artists sell their works on the wall. It's one of the more affordable places on the island, particularly if you take advantage of specials. read more

It did nothing for me. Food was raves about by many but the burrito had little to no flavor. It was a huge portion but won't be bringing me back. read more

Loved this place! Quaint little spot with great food, friendly staff, and good prices! We sat at the bar and ordered draft beers. They only have a handful on tap, but a couple of them were local places so that was nice. I was torn between the Farmhouse Chicken salad and the Santa Fe Chicken salad, which are actually quite similar. The waitress suggested Farmhouse, because bacon. It was so good!! This salad was HUGE and only $10! They make their own southwestern ranch dressing and I loved it! A little went a long way but packed a nice punch and complemented the salad well. BF got the fish tacos and he enjoyed them very much. The meat was plentiful and grilled just right. Check out this spot when you're nearby!! read more

Be very aware and check your bill twice . We were a party of 4 adults and one well behaved 3 year old . We were charged a "LARGE" party tip . 20 % in fact . We usually leave more anyhow so I'm not sure if this is their policy or not , but they lost customers . We also are 4 local business owners who at least would like the courtesy when we emailed them twice to receive an answer . Bad business practices the whole way around. read more

I have no idea why this place has so many good reviews. First of all the food was awful. Party of five, we split a burger, Cuban and a drunken burrito, $76. Burger was soggy with zero flavor, Cuban was okay, sweet potato fries had no flavor and the burrito had so many odd little bites. We were over charged for chips and salsa that was an option as a side for the burger, we were charged fifty cents for "extra pickles" and a dollar for a half filled plastic cup of ranch. The server was very snide and proud to have charged us the large party gratuity even though we split items since half of our party were kids. Avoid this place. read more

Excellent - very surprised to find this place. Very clean an comfortable - something many other local places missing. Loved the Cuban.

Great place! Wonderful food. We had the vegetarian chili and chips and tried 3 different taco. Excellent. $2 beers at Happy hour and $3 tacos. Perfect!! What a great place!! Lots of vegetarian selections too! read more

Best-Kept Secret on the Beach We've been several times. Don't let the casual beach bar vibe fool you. It's a bonified eatery. So far we've had great tacos (shrimp is a favorite) and a spectacular Cuban sandwich. Love their chips and salsa, good beer and wine selection. Oh, and really nice people. Tonight we had dinner for two, a beer, a glass of wine and a slice of banana-pudding cheesecake for $38. And took half a sandwich home. Love this place! read more

We have been frequenting this establishment since it opened & I feel like it has drastically gone down hill. The staff is fabulous but the food has taken a turn for the worse. It's not complicated fare which is why we are perplexed. The salads have dirt on lettuce, the coleslaw is swimming & the chicken tastes old. I do hope they can repair their food offerings because this used to be such a great dining experience. read more
