    NY steak $49
    Stefanie B.

If you like burnt taste, this place is for you. The wine and charcuterie were absolutely fabulous, highly recommend. The NY strip tasted like charcoal. I cut the outside off and ate it because I never send my food back and hadn't eaten all day. That being said, we told them just to offer feedback and they said that's how they serve the food. I was surprised because they have decent reviews. We were so looking forward to dining here. Out of 5 dishes, 4 of them were really bad. 3 dishes were steak and completely burnt tasting, and one had swordfish that arrived as two thin slices, not even 1/2 inch. Swordfish should be thick. At $49 for a steak, it should be cooked properly and taste like a steak, not like the place it's cooked. So, go for the appetizers, skip the main course unless you like burnt taste, and some people do.

Great time trying Bacaro for Mother's Day a few weeks back! We started with the buffalo mozzarella with arugula salad and margarita pizza to start. Both were incredible and the pizza could be my favorite. It was light and crispy with great flavor. We got an assortment of pastas for dinner to try. The shrimp pasta and bolognese were great and fam favorites. The pink baked pasta was very blue cheese forward and not our favorite since it was pretty heavy. There are so many options to try on the menu that I'd try something else next time. For dessert, we split the chocolate torte and a mango passion fruit special. The mango passion fruit dessert was a fan favorite. It was a very busy day so service was a bit slow and it took us a while to order and receive food, but we'll try again on a day that isn't a holiday. Overall looking forward to coming back!

The recipe for a perfect meal for 2 at Bacaro: 1- pizza bianca 2- pasta con i fungi 3- crispy chicken Trust me and stick to these three + a Bacaro spritz and a margarita. Do not deviate! If you must, a grilled crispy octopus with beans app may be added. If you don't like fungus, switch to Bolognese. The ingredients are top shelf here, the prices are high, service is usually good - but the meal above is 10/10 worth it.

Simply fabulous!! Former Rhode Islander now living in Miami and with full confidence maybe only Sunny's steakhouse in Miami's Design District measures up to Bacaro. I come to RI once every couple of weeks and always make it a goal to get dinner here. Alex at the bar was very attentive to us. Bacaro takes the crown for delicious food!! Does it make sense to say it all feels intentional? You can feel the craft and dedication from BOH to FOH making for a lovely fabulous evening.

7:45 PM reservation on the day before Thanksgiving. It was a late reservation as we needed to wait for family members to arrive from different parts of the country. There were only two other tables in the space during the time we were there. We dined downstairs, near the bar, our table overlooking downtown Providence. White tablecloths, incandescent lighting supplemented by candlelight, exposed wooden beams, Venetian masks hanging on the walls...the combination providing for an elegant atmosphere. There is an extensive menu which includes cocktails, birra, Venetian apperitivo, insalate, antipasta caldi, cicchetti, grilled pizza, pasta, pesce, carne, contorti, formaggi, salumeria, and, finally, dolce. We were asked to order all our food at once because everything is made to order. Both the food and service were excellent. A few examples: the creaminess of my truffled burrata polenta was memorably good; the way our server kept refilling our water glasses, attentive but not obtrusive; he even crumbed our table. The whole experience was warm, welcoming, and satisfying, a perfect way to start an extended family weekend.

The food was delicious, but the service was disappointing for the price point. The ambiance was nice, especially at night.

Place was freeeeezing I kept my coat on the entire dinner. We felt a little rushed by our waiter we ordered apps and then he came to over to ask us more than once if we knew what we wanted for entrees and it's like we are here for a friends birthday catching up let us eat some cheese and chat and then we will order. And we understood that some dishes take a long time to prepare. He made it very clear. The chef choice cheese board was lack luster given to us with no instruction of what was what i mean we figured it out but seemed odd. We just didn't feel like our server liked us tbh. We ordered two pasta dishes a pizza and another entree and everything was absolutely delicious. Mine could've had more shrimp but still good. Including dessert the butter cake was wonderful. After that we ended the night with espressos. One of the best we have ever had! They make parking super easy first 3hrs are free in the lot right outside. We will go back but I'll be sure to dress warmer haha.

Ambiance and food are incredible. Outstanding pasta dishes. Pro tip: There is dining room space upstairs and downstairs. If you want to eat in the upstairs dining room, you need to indicate that when you make the reservation online.

The server was attentive, and all the food was served at the right time, starting with the appetizer, then the entree, and finally dessert. We had a party of seven and arrived at 7:00 PM; it was quite packed for a Wednesday night. The food quality was good, and there was nothing to nitpick. The trout was lemony, and my favorite was the truffle pasta.

I had never been to Bacaro although I've lived in Fox Point for quite some time. I reserved a table for 8 people on Saturday, 3/2 for my birthday. In short, the building is very nice and the food was fantastic BUT I am going to give a run down on my experience. I arrived on-time for my reservation at 7:15p and sat down with my party (some being there a few minutes before me). We were approached by the waiter who didn't introduce himself or bother to ask if this was our first time at Bacaro (quite odd, I'm sure many understand). The waiter takes everyone's drinks and then walks off. Comes back (before placing bread on table) and asks about first course (flew by drinks/apps) then comes back to drop bread. At this point I felt very rushed, there's no reason I should walk in and be hounded about drinks/appetizers/first course in a matter of 10 minutes - unheard of. He takes our app order and proceeds to ask about entrees/desert. It's fine if they need to pair entrees + desert but to expect me to order drinks, appetizers, first/secondi/desert in one shot. Should I have called in my drinks and food when I booked the reservation? The food and drinks were fantastic, I would not take away from that. Whoever is in the kitchen is excellent at their job and they should be recognized. Front desk + waiting staff needs a "tune up," no doubt in my mind. I eat out quite often in various places and always have tipping in mind - it's only right for the service industry. Tipping is service based right? Typically Beautiful building, the inside is low lit and intimate, food/drinks are fantastic and the wine selection is great. Service + Restaurant Processes lack severely and I would not consider coming back here until training is put in place. This could be a 5 Star Establishment (no question) - hope that comes true. Message me when it is!

My friend knows much more about wine than I do, so he was the decision maker for our wine choices and we ordered a 1/2 bottle of red which we both found to be very delicious. Of course, we had to try some food too and the small bites menu was perfect with something to satisfy nearly every taste. We opted for the meat charcuterie, and it was beautifully presented with enough for the two of us to share. There is also a cheese charcuterie on the menu, but unfortunately there is not an option for a combined meat and cheese plate. We sat, sipped, and tasted for a while and never felt rushed. I can browse a liquor store & pick out a bottle that exactly fits my preferences, my mood, & my budget. I can bring it home & uncork the wine, checking the cork for freshness. I can pull out my special glassware & pour myself a glass of wine & enjoy it on my own couch. So why go out to a wine bar, if not for the wine? For me, it's for the ambience & the experience. Both of those things at Providence Wine Bar were lacking. The lights were too bright (overhead & fluorescent) & the music was too loud (& just bad). The employees seemed both bored & nervous, with not much to do to occupy themselves. I was one of the only people in the bar, so I felt like I was under scrutiny - I'm certain this wasn't intentional but it was unfortunately how it came across. I brought a book but couldn't focus because of the lights & the music. I even caught myself with my fingers in my ears, trying to muffle the sounds of 2010s hyper pop. I have nothing against 2010s hyperpop, it's just that there's a time & place for everything, & maybe that isn't at a wine bar at 8 PM on a Wednesday. I just wanted to be done with my glass of wine so that I could leave. All of that being said, I wish them the best. It seems like they need a good manager's touch.

Luckily we did make reservation for early dinner so we were able to find parking right away. We got there early so the restaurant wasn't open yet. We took a walk around the Westminster for a bit until the place was open. We were sat down right away. Inside is cozy with dim lights and open kitchen and some tables. They have few outside seating available as well. We started with some appetizer raw fish and combo as well as kohlrabi Caesar. We got black bass and a seasonal fish with combo that included lightly roasted oysters, shrimp and squid. All seafood was directly sourced from local port and fresh. Seafood appetizer was delicious. The caesar was interesting. I've never had kohlrabi but it reminded me of radish and it was tasty. Personally i would have preferred little less salt and olive oil so that flavor of the raw ingredient stand out more but was not too bad. My entree was the seafood risotto. Flavorful risotto with some seafood on top. Was a bit messy to eat because of the shells but was flavorful. The crab and shellfish itself was small and a bit underwhelming but the rice was rich and full of fish flavor. My mother had the cacio e Pepe which was good but she said that nothing comparable to one she had in Rome. I was not a huge fan of the thicker pasta but that's just is personal preference. Service was excellent but the table was a bit small and tight as we were very close to the next table and can hear what others are talking about so not a very privately setting. Overall i did like the place. Food and service were good. But it was not anything exceeding expectation and there were few things that detracted from our experience such as heavy seasonings, small dining space and etc... The price is quite expensive for the amount of food they serve as well. I think it's a good place for special occasions.

We were led to a corner table by Michael who greeted us at the door and was to be our server. As usual the room was noisy. (Later we asked whether the music volume could be turned down which they did, much appreciated) We scanned the menu and found it hard to not order everything! However, we started with a Martini and a Cubano Viejo - both of which were well made and went down nicely. While we were deciding we nibbled on delicious almonds. As usual we shared a number of dishes. The seasonal Croquettes, the Patatas Bravas (slightly spicy), Gambas Ajillo with extra bread to sop up the tasty sauce, and to top it all our favorite Lamb Chops. For dessert we had an excellent pistachio tart washed down with a glass of a fine Cabernet. All the dishes were excellent and deserving of the highest rating - rare for us. (Perhaps because everything jelled nicely. The check came to $140 o which we added a good tip. We had ordered too much and took some of the food home to consume the next day. Our server was very attentive and cheerful (I think we had him on a previous occasion). The experience was most enjoyable and we will certainly be back sooner than later.

What we got: The grilled calamari-was exceptionally tender... lots of flavor and spice not chewy at all. The razor clams- were very garlicky and lemony-delicious! The duck baclava- so interesting and different... tasted somewhat like a fancy bite of thanksgiving dinner with stuffing and all. Chorizo and cheese platter- good, it is what it sounds like. Drinks were fantastic as well, we tried a few different cocktails and also had a sample of an espresso martini- friendly bartenders! If you want to sit at a table instead of the bar, make a reservation... but the bar was nice! Good ambiance overall and would love to try other things on their menu- definitely a fun splurge night out on the town!,
