3.5 STARS Wanted to try Ba cha for a while and decided to get the Taro slush and matcha slush (both regular sugar). The taro was refreshing and so was the matcha, but it could be more creamy tasting for both the drinks, if you know what I mean. Even though I got regular sugar for both, it tasted like it was at 70%-80% sugar level. Price wise is about the same as other bbt establishments.

I'm rarely this far in Markham, but I was in the area. After a grocery trip at T&T, I visited Ba Cha because they have a BOGO deal on any of their drinks until the end of the year. I ordered the fresh fruit tea and the mango pomelo drink. I didn't know what to expect, but when they came out I really couldn't believe how large they were. Both drinks stayed cold enough for my 30 minute drive home with a detour to a Chinese bakery. I really enjoyed the mango pomelo drink. Not only do you get pieces of real mango in the drink, but there are also little pieces of sago. It took me a while to realize what I liked the most about the drink was the actual tea. It provides a nice contrast to the fruit and is very refreshing. The fresh fruit tea is their most popular drink. However I didn't like it as much. There were just too many large pieces of fruit in the drink that didn't provide any flavor and simply took up room in the cup.

On Wednesday night, I was at Taoyuan Neverland to pick up a takeout order. I like that it also features ZenQ bubble tea. I got some, as there was a BOGO deal happening. Parking at Langham Square can be crazy, especially now that eateries have reopened their dining rooms. I didn't feel like parking in the underground lot. I was there to pick up food and go. Instead, I parked off to the side, in front of Ba Cha, and went over to fetch my food. When I got back to my car, I was curious about Ba Cha. I knew that it had opened up last summer. As usual, I don't exactly go to the grand opening of new businesses, especially when I have a regular set of bubble tea stores that I frequent. Hey, I'm parked off to the side. I'm not bugging anyone. What's an extra five more minutes parked there, right? I walked into the store. It's cute. I was the only customer there. A nice woman greeted me, talking to me over loud Cantonese music. I looked at the menu. I wanted the pineapple slush, but wasn't feeling the cheese foam. I ordered the extra large. Ba Cha is known for its extra large, tall drinks. Go big or go home! I actually did both with this purchase. She asked about the sugar level. I normally do no sugar, but she said that a bit of sugar was needed. Okay. I went with the least amount of sugar possible. I paid with my debit card. It was just over $9 before my tip, which may seem like highway robbery to some. However, when you see how tall the cup is, it's not horrific. I waited patiently and took photos. You can sit there and sip your beverage. The chairs are transparent, so you may want to make sure that there's a seat under you before you sit down. If you are having an off day (I can see not adjusting to Daylight Saving (no s at the end or I'll hunt you down) Time being a problem), you may want to skip sitting here. This woman was super nice. She let me choose a straw from her cannister. I would predict that my straw was at least a foot long. I thanked her. She asked if I needed a bag. I declined, doing a bit of good for the environment. I wished her a nice evening and walked out tall with my tall drink. It was humourous to me seeing how tall this drink was in my car's cup holder. I will admit that I liked it. It was different. I drove home and enjoyed it. I recommend shaking it up, as the slush does separate from the actual liquid. I liked my slush. There were fresh pineapple bits blended in. The taste was a mild pineapple. I would have liked more pineapple goodness. Not horrible, but I was reminiscing about the pineapple slush that I had at Presotea. To this day, it's the best that I've had. I'm thinking that maybe the large (regular) size would not taste as watered down. It's kind of like Starbucks to me. I prefer a grande over a venti because the latter seems to taste watered down to me and the flavour isn't as bold as it should be. I'd come back and try more drinks. It's the only Ba Cha in the GTA and I hope that it stays around. This place is on Uber Eats. I was there at around 7 pm, so you could get away with dropping by and ordering in-store. (93)

Mango Pomelo Freeze with Cheese Foam and Grass Jelly

Thought I would try this place known for the extra tall drinks here. I heard they just opened up in Langham Square around Kennedy and Hwy 7 area. The Loaded Mango Pomelo was refreshing. I enjoyed it but I tasted more pomelo than mango flavour. This slush type drink had chunks of fresh pomelo and but missing the fresh chunks of mango as pictured on the menu. This drink was supposed to include sago but since they ran out we replaced it with Grass Jelly. But next time if I had to ..... I recommend replacing a topping with more texture and chewiness like tapioca. I had the sugar level customized at 50% which was good but might want to try it at 75% for a bit more sweetness next time. They offer different drinks and I would give this place another try.

I tried the Milk tea since there was a BOGO deal on Ubereats even though I have never bought from this bubble tea shop before. I didn't have very high hopes but I was pleasantly surprised and thought the milk tea was pretty good. What I liked the most was the cup it came in - there was a small removable cap so you can sip the milk tea without getting any tapioca. This might not be important for most people but I actually like the option of getting a sip of just the milk tea and not always getting a mouthful of tapioca from the straw. Will be back to try other drinks.

Tried Ba Cha for the first time and liked it! We went just before closing on a Sunday evening, so there wasn't anyone in front of us. We got the grape green tea with agar jelly and the mango pamelo drink with agar jelly. The mango pamelo normally has sago but they were out of it. We got both at 25% sugar, which was the perfect amount for us. The grape tea had real grape flesh in it. I love drink that have real fruit pieces in it, so it wad a plus for me. The mango pamelo drink was massive! It only comes in an XL, which is a very tall cup. My only complaint is that the straw doesn't reach the bottom of the XL cup because of how tall it is. So it's harder to get the toppings at the bottom of the drink. Pricing was a little in the high side, but they offer only L and XL, so in the end I think it's around average. Would come back to try other flavours like their papaya drink (they were sold out by the time we came).

There's currently a soft opening promotion, BOGO FREE! Inside is fairly small, it's more of a take out spot. I ordered four Ba Cha favourites, only because there was only 1 pamphlet for the menu and another customer was already looking at it, so I just looked at the giant menu near the front. I ordered the Loaded Mango Pomelo (XL), Brûlée Brown Sugar (L), Taro Snowflake (L), and Jasmine Green Milk Tea (L), total was about $18 for 4 drinks. Let me tell you, the XL drinks are massive! The cups are so tall. My favourite was the Mango Pomelo. The Taro had cornflakes in it I think. The Brûlée was topped with torched sugar. I like how these drinks weren't too sweet. Although, the staff never asked for my sugar and ice levels either. Overall, the staff were nice, I only waited a short amount of time for my drinks, and the drinks were good.

I'm always on the lookout to try new bubble tea places. Ba Cha is located in Langham Square on the upper parking lot level on the south side of the building. The storefront is nice and clean with some seating available along the side. The placement of the menu on the wall is a bit awkward to look at if other people are in line as well. The staff was really welcoming and seemed multilingual in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. We ordered the Brulee Brown Sugar Latte, the Brown Sugar Black Milk Tea, and the scent of the store persuaded us to also get the Original Bubble Waffle (雞蛋仔). The drinks were good quality and the brulee and brown sugar were prominent in both drinks respectively. The bubble waffle was more on the dense side relative to others in the community, but nonetheless very tasty. Will absolutely be back to try some of their other speciality drinks!

New BBT place opened up at Langhan and they're having a BOGO free offer for their grand opening special (ending on May 31st). So far, they only have a small pamphlet by the front and a large poster featuring their top ten drinks. I hope they have a bigger menu in the future for easier reading. Anyways I got their Loaded Mango Pomelo and and Dragonfruit GT Slush with Cheese foam both in XL. Their XL was definitely XL. A very tall drink that's the size of my forearm!! Price is $9 each for the XL size. I'm not sure if their other drinks would have options for sugar and ice level since slush type drinks usually have a fixed amount for both. They did not ask for this visit. Both drinks were very flavourful and I would come again to try their other ones! The mango had lots of chunks and the dragonfruit was so refreshing for the recent hot weather. I feel like it could've used a bit more cheese foam considering the size of the drink.

**ACTUAL RATING 4.5** Ba Cha recently opened up in the Langham Square plaza and are having a BOGO promotion until May 31st. I've heard mixed reviews about this place, so I've decided to give it a try myself! TLDR: I highly recommend the drinks that I've tried! Very refreshing drinks, & the teas that they used were quite fragrant. I've seen some reviews say that the wait time was really long, but fortunately, when I got there, there was no one in line! The staff were quick to take my order and make my drinks. Total wait time from when I ordered to when I got my drinks was ~5mins. What I tried + review: Loaded Mango Pomelo (XL) ($8.99 + tax): - Very refreshing!! & as obvious as this is, make sure you mix the drink well! I didn't do that thoroughly at the start, and the drink tasted meh... (I could taste that the mango wasn't fully ripe yet). However, once I mixed it, all of the different layers complimented each other well! The drink ended up being soooo good. It was perfect in sweetness and creaminess, and I could no longer taste that bit of sourness from the mango slush. I also loved how they added some tea into it as well - it gave it a bit of fragrance. The only thing is that the pomelo chunks were a bit too big and kept getting stuck in the straw - that part was a bit frustrating, but the drink was worth the struggles. All in One Black Milk Tea (XL) (NOTE: Toppings normally include tapioca, grass jelly, red bean, peanut, and pudding, but due to availability and preferences, we had grass jelly & sago instead) ($6.99 + tax): - I was worried that their milk tea would taste diluted and overly sweet. However, it was actually perfect in sweetness for me, and the drink had a nice tea fragrance! I got less ice and regular sugar (as recommended by the staff). Normally, I get 50-75% sugar, so if you normally get 0-30%, you can consider getting less sugar here, but their regular sugar level (100%) really wasn't too sweet! Hopefully this stays consistent. If you get the XL sized drinks, know that the straws aren't long enough - they're right at lid level. If you get a slush or have toppings in your drink, this shouldn't be a problem until you reach the last bit of your drink. I also want to note that you may think that these drinks are pretty pricey, but the ones I got were XL! If you look at the prices of their large sized drinks, it's pretty standard compared to many other bubble tea places. Bubble tea in general is just pricey nowadays, period. I'll be back & look forward to trying some of their other drinks!

If you're looking for a refreshing drink with large volumes, Ba Cha is for you! For $6.99 + tax, a XL fruit slush is a nice thirst quencher for a hot day. The staff was fast with making the drinks and super polite as well. The only reason I can't give give this place the full five stars is because of the lack of uniqueness in taste. None of the drinks are bad, but they are not particular good tasting either. But I would still highly recommend their XL watermelon slush for a hot summer day.

Taro milk tea and original milk tea

We purchased the bubble tea at close, during the BOGO deal. They ran out of all the main flavours so we went with the classics. The tapioca was not cooked properly. Tasted stale and very chewy. The taro tea was very sweet so make sure to reduce the sugar. The milk tea was good.

I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I had stepped aside to look at the menu. They noticed and didn't pressure me in taking my order, but instead asked if I had any questions and had let me smell the tea leaves. For a more upscale bubble tea store, I appreciated that very much. I ended up getting the barley milk tea, and the flavour did not disappoint. The barley taste definitely came through, and it wasn't too sweet. Note: for sweetness level, get one lower than what you normally get. Trust me :) Overall I would come back when I'm in the area and craving for bubble tea to try other drinks. Across from it is my local Scotiabank branch. I visit the drive-thru often to withdraw money, and go into the branch now and again. Every time I visit the bank, I flag getting bubble tea someday, but never go in. Why? Parking is limited, this parking lot isn't exactly crafted for safety, and there has been construction happening here for at least a year. The other night, I visited the drive-thru ABM, saw plenty of parking spots on a rainy Monday night, and decided to drop by Kung Fu Tea for the first time. I used to come here when there was a ramen restaurant a couple of doors down. It has since been replaced several times. I couldn't tell you what it is now! I walked into Kung Fu Tea and was greeted by an illuminated logo of a kung fu master and words of wisdom that looked like a kid had put each letter on a fridge door, except that it was a wall and it's permanent. I saw that there was a back-to-school deal on passion fruit green tea. Get a large for $3.99. Sold! There was one couple ahead of me. This place is bright, quaint, cozy, and clean. When it was my time to order, I entered my phone number on the touch pad for Vicinity points. Yay! The woman helping me with my order was cheerful and happy. I placed my order, and got my passion fruit green tea with no honey (it's honey and not sugar) and a bit of ice. I also got coconut jelly. It came to being over $5. I paid using my debit card and patiently waited for my beverage. This place has bubble waffles. I need to get one next time I'm here. I had just had dinner, so I wasn't down for a snack. The couple ahead of me ordered a number of drinks to go. A few minutes after they had left, my order was ready. I loved my drink. The passion fruit is blended finely. You don't drink pulp, but you know that it's real fruit when you see the residue. Its taste was fresh and bright. The coconut jelly had the perfect sweetness and chewiness. There is free wifi at this tea place. I can see myself hanging out here. It's probably the closest bubble tea place by my home, which is both good and scary. I am a fan. I'll be back. (386)
