When it comes to milk tea, this joint might be one of my faves. They have the worst hours due to being a unit inside PMall but damn their tea is tasty. The blackberry milk tea is literally good with ANY topping and the tea itself has so much flavour that 0 sugar is literally perfect. The staff (especially the owner) are super nice and I guess one of the benefits of being a PMall unit (for me) is that the line isn't crazy long like at The Alley. Their sign caught my eye as it said "Handmade Tapioca", so I asked the ladies at the cosmetic store if it was good. They gave it a thumbs-up, so I decided to give it a try! My go-to order is Taro Milk Tea, and I was happy to see they use fresh taro. It's naturally sweet, so I skipped the added sugar. Wanting to try different tapioca options, I asked about their choices and ended up going with the Rainbow Tapioca, which includes strawberry, mango, and brown sugar pearls. It was so good! Tried Mr Sun multiple times and I've had great experiences every time. The person taking my order was very friendly and provided recommendations on a drink to try. I really appreciated the recommended sugar level Mr Sun included on their menu as ive been very satisfied with my drink every time! The store also provided options for ice levels as well. I got the Assam milk tea (25% sugar) and the blackberry milk tea (0% sugar), both with brown sugar tapioca. The Assam milk tea is a classic here, I highly recommend if it's your first time trying Mr Sun as it has a strong tea flavor with the perfect amount of sweetness from the included sugar and the brown sugar tapioca. The blackberry milk tea was also very good, although not my favourite flavor for milk tea. On the menu it was recommended to get 25% sugar and as I was ordering, the person taking my order recommended me to have 0% sugar if I include any tapioca; I'm very glad he gave me this recommendation as the drink wouldve been too sweet otherwise! I recently dropped by Pacific Mall for a Yelp elite event. I passed by Mr Sun. I have had this place bookmarked for I'd guess a year, at least. I feel that I am late on the bubble tea surge. I knew that I needed to cycle back and get some bubble tea. I sure did! It's a small tea place that is closest to the west entrance. There was a woman there who helped me out. I asked if she had any drinks with strawberry in it. I have a thing for strawberry bubble tea these days. She suggested the red sun special. It's essentially a strawberry milkshake. I let her know that I was borderline lactose-intolerant. I asked whether there was a drink without the milk. She let me know that she has lactose-free milk. Excellent! I was sold and got a large. The red sun special has a fixed level of 25% sugar. That's kind of sweet for my regular liking. I was game. It also had strawberry tapioca. Mr Sun accepts Vicinity points. I entered my phone number and all was good. My drink was just over $6. I thanked her. She advised to shake it before drinking. I brought it home. It looked pretty. I shook my drink. I then poked my straw through it, stirred, and sipped. It did taste like a milkshake. I was so happy. It was good. It wasn't all that sweet, which works perfectly for me. Order was taken quickly and it was served quite quickly. I like that they showed you their recommended sugar level so that you don't need to guess. Price is a comparable to other chains within the mall (Presotea, Chatime, Boba Boy). I asked the cashier whether I should get the roasted milk tea or the Asaman tea. After a pause, she recommended the roasted milk tea. I do notice that their offerings in Pacific Mall is slightly different than what their chain's website displayed. I also added brown sugar tapioca ($0.9) to my large drink ($6.0). From the first sip, it tasted great. Oh boy , the bubble tea here is like sugar water :( it was really tasty but felt like I was going get sick from how sweet it was . I ordered the special Full house tea with 50% sweet level and it definitely tasted like 110% sweetness. Definitely recommend being modest with the sugar level for your next order. The tapioca was A+ though , same with the grass jelly and pudding . I've been here a few times and they always seem to have random sales which I love ! I love Bubble Tea! And the made in-house tapioca trend has not yet hit Ottawa (where I currently live) so as soon as I was back in the GTA I knew I HAD TO get me some Bubble Tea with fresh tapioca pearls, lol. So the closest place to where I was staying was Mr. Sun. I got the regular sized Milk Tea with Mango Tapioca ($5.80). I don't like my drinks too sweet, so I went with 25% sweet. I opted for 75% ice, as I like my drinks cold, but I don't want to pay for a cup of mostly ice, haha. This combination was perfect for me. I really enjoyed the tapioca pearls. They were chewy but soft, and a really good consistency. I like them so much better than the usual pre-packaged ones. The drink tasted like mangoes, but the tea flavour wasn't that pronounced. I would have liked more tea flavour, but I still enjoyed it. Service was courteous and quick. The place is on the main floor of the Pacific Mall (it's not upstairs in the food court). Visited recently with my brother. My drink came out to close to $7.95 and his came out to $7.35. I was a little surprised. Tapioca was $1.20, soy milk was $0.20. The staff did not asked us for a size but rather placed and order for large as a default. As well, my brother ordered the recommended uji matcha and was very disappointed. He felt it was very watered down with no matcha flavour and did not enjoy his drink. It was extra disappointing as Mr. Sun is known for their superior tea quality. Mr. Sun Teashop has specialized in high-quality drinks since 1999. A celebrity tea brand in Taiwan, Mr. Sun has won numerous awards for their quality and innovative drinks such as the Heineken Green Tea, Mr. Sun Special, and Cheese Milk Foam Oolong Tea. I spotted the teashop while I was wandering around the Pacific Mall with my friends and their handmade tapioca really intrigued us so we decided to give it a try. I love that their freshly made tapioca with healthier ingredients and less chemical additives, and they have so many flavours to choose from! The owner Jacky was also really nice and he took the time to explain his teashop and some of the most popular drinks that they offer. We decided to get one of each drink from their special menu and they were all so pretty and so delicious. They allowed us to choose our own sugar and ice level. A lot has changed at Pacific Mall, but they still continue to host some of the best Asian food and snack selections! Managed to give the new Mr. Sun Tea a try, which I was super excited about. They had a promotional offer for the medium-sized MR. SUN LAVA LATTE for $3.99 plus tax (from November 1-30, weekdays only, excluding holidays). This drink looked amazing with the brown sugar coating the cup and definitely tasted like a latte with tapioca! The tapioca was definitely very chewy and I'm looking forward to going back to try many of their other flavors of tapioca like the fruit series as well as special flavors like black sesame! As for this specific drink, I would have liked a little more of the brown sugar so those flavors could be more evident - but overall, I'm pleased. The tapioca is soft yet chewy and delicious. They have an option for lactose free milk for an additional cost of $0.25, they use real tea and cane sugar and change out their tea every 4 hours to guarantee freshness Where else can you get Heineken mixed green tea? Mr. Sun is one of their signature drinks, but don't worry you won't get buzzed off it because it has all the flavour but none of the alcohol, perfect for those who enjoy the taste but don't want the glow. Seen too many picture on my social media, so lets give it a try. I didnt know they were located inside Pacifical mall. Thought they had an actual standing store. But looks like this is their only location. With so many bubble tea places, the first thing i look at is their menu to look for their signature drink. They have a signature drink that made with non alcoholic beer - Mr. Sungreen Tea. And then they have handmade fruit tapioca - strawberry, mango and brown sugar. I saw the tapiocas in the making! I was walking around PMall and just before I left, I passed by Mr. Sun BBT. I've had this place on my "to visit" list and actually forgot it was located here. I hadn't been to the mall in a while so I figured what better time to try Mr. Sun. As a self proclaimed BBT aficionado, I had to try it. At first glance, there was plenty of options to choose from but being my first time here, I had to try their milk tea. They had the Full House Milk Tea special right on the counter so I decided to try that first. It had 3 toppings, grass jelly, pudding and their housemade brown sugar tapioca, I was sold. I did notice that this particular drink was priced a little on the higher side but with 3 toppings included, I wasn't too surprised. It was similar to The Alley and OneZo pricing, so it was within average for a little more premium bubbletea. The staff was polite and answered all my questions and my wait time was short. Now for the drink, the Tea itself wasn't that strong (which I was a little sad about) but I think the problem was the level of sugar. I left it at their original level (50%) but with the 3 toppings in the drink, it was quite sweet. I did like the creaminess but I will definitely lessen the sugar next time. I absolutely LOVED the handmade tapioca. It had the perfect chewy texture and was filled with brown sugar flavour. I had that flavour in my mouth the rest of the night. The other toppings were a-okay but the tapioca outshone them. I do however wish that they included a bit more toppings for charging that amount. Visited the Pacific Mall over the weekend and perhaps this is the only tea store in Pacific Mall that offers non dairy options. The person on the counter very helpful and cheerful. Service was good. We ordered a Uji Matcha Tea Latte with Soy Milk and Matcha flavoured Tapioca and a Yakult Lemonade. The Matcha tea we did 25% sweetness and only 75% ice. The tea was amazing and the Matcha flavour and taste came through just perfectly. The sweetness was perfect for us as we did not want sugar to over power the Matcha flavour. The Matcha flavoured tapioca were OK. Would have preferred a. More profound flavour. The Lemonade on the other hand was out of this world. It's a perfect summer drink. The Lemonade was flavoured with 10% sugar and had Mango flavoured tapioca. The sweetness of the Lemonade was perfect. The mango tapioca even though mildly flavoured it some went perfectly with the Lemonade. The two slices of LIME came with it and was good. Shouldn't there be lemon slices instead? It gets hot while you're walking around Pacific Mall in your winter jacket...wait did we already pass that store?? Are we going in circles? Needless to say I got quite thirsty during my walk. There are probably at least 3x Real Fruit stands and 3x Presto Tea stores in different areas of the mall. I'm really glad I held out until I found this place that had a swarm of people outside of it. There's a menu of milk tea, black and green teas, yakult drinks, and slushies. They have lots of signage on specialty items and favourites if you have trouble choosing. I wanted something refreshing so I went with the Passion Fruit Green Tea that comes with tapioca, coconut jelly, and passion fruit seeds. You can customize your sugar and ice level. I initially asked for 50% sugar but the cashier helpfully suggested that I go for 25% since the fruit juice is already pretty sweet. I'm glad she did because it was perfect. The tapioca was the best texture and even though it had a fruit flavour (I'm not sure which one it was) it didn't mess with my enjoyment of the drink itself. It tasted a tiny bit sweet but it wasn't like bursts of fruit flavour which was fine with me. My mom actually had a sip of my drink and it was so good that I had to go back to the store to order one for her! I also asked for a cup of water and they remembered to get it for us as well and even made sure they got us the right temperature of water (choices were cold, room temperature, and hot). This fantastic Taiwan chain is hard to find in Toronto, and we're so glad that they're finally here, at Pacific Mall, and possible North York later. We love every flavour of tea and combination that we've ever tried here! Our discovery of this bubble tea shop was by chance, while we were actually on our way searching for another bubble tea place in Pacific Mall that we previously thought was our favourite. Mr. Sun successfully reeled us in with a sample of their Royal Milk Tea, which was very good, even without any toppings. After we found our original BT place and experienced terrible customer service (where the apparently bored teenaged girl barely nodded to us as she told us that so many flavours or options were not available that day), we realised that the free sample of tea was what we should have stopped for in the first place, and we promptly turned around and searched the halls until we happily spotted the sample-giver standing with his tray. From that point on, we've given a lot of our hard-earned coin to Mr. Sun every time we return to Pacific Mall. Their teas are highly customisable, and staff will give you recommendations with each tea, if you're not sure. Choose sugar and ice levels (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) and toppings such as grass jelly; pudding; coconut jelly; konjac jelly; and best of all, different flavours of homemade tapioca bubbles (more on that later). With so many teas and flavours to choose from (including visually-beautiful seasonal limited-editions that we had at Christmastime), we're always torn between taking our usual favourites or trying a new one that we know won't disappoint us. The homemade tapioca bubbles are just the right amount of chewiness, and so tasty--hands down "the best tapioca bubbles I've ever tasted", say every one of our family/friends whom we've introduced to Mr. Sun. Mr. Sun - yet another bbt place you say. But it is different from other bbt places in that it makes its own tapioca with less chemical additives right in the booth. Besides that, the bbt are pretty good in flavors based on the two that I have tried before; Mango green tea with konjac jellies - my ultimate favourite drink from Mr. Sun. At 10% sugar, it was just right for me. A touch of sweetness, but not crazy sugary sweet.. I could taste the green tea as well as the mango flavors. The jellies were yummy as well. Most distinct is the Heineken green tea. They infused non-alcoholic Heineken beer into the green tea to give it a cool taste. It does indeed have a touch of beer taste to the bbt. Who would have thought to mix beer and bbt and to say that it's a good pairing!!!! I like the innovation. I look forward to trying the other flavors next, especially after hearing how my friends enjoyed drinking what they ordered as well. The tea was a little weak acceptable. They BOAST about their handmade fruit tapioca but you can't really differentiate the taste of each flavor. However, when I was unassumingly drinking I chewed on little pieces of hard 'stuff'. I'm not sure what it was but it was of a texture that wasn't breakable by teeth. Plastic? Hardened sugar? I tossed out my drink right after. 2. Cloud Milk Tea: I really liked the Cloud Milk Tea. My boyfriend usually likes the macchiato from Coco (NOT cheesy) so we decided to give this one a shot. The 'cloud' gave the drink a creamy overall flavor and the tea was stronger in his. The brown sugar tapioca were really chewy. Another day, yet another new bubble tea place. However, I think Mr. Sun does enough to distinguish themselves from the competition (at least in Pacific mall). They're from Taiwan and seem to specialize in making their own tapioca pearls. We just ordered the classic milk tea called the golden milk tea with brown sugar (tapioca), and I would say it's similar to the chatime roasted milk tea (flavor wise), except with better tapioca. Obviously their main selling point is their tapioca and it does get pretty pricey so it's better off just finding a drink that already has them included. The tapioca was chewy and it was just the right amount of sugar, not being too sweet. We did order the medium but the cashier there put in the large, but that's not a big problem.Otherwise service was quite pleasant and he seemed to be happy to be there. I'm actually impressed. Of all the bubble teas I've had recently, this place was the best by a long shot! Located inside Pmall and originating from Taiwan, Mr. Sun specializes in handmade tapioca and an innovative house special called the "Mr. Sun Green Tea" which uses the beer Heineken (although here, they make it using 0.0% Heineken). They offer various flavours of homemade tapioca - it was strawberry, mango, and brown sugar the day I went - and when you order milk tea, it defaults to earl grey unless you specify otherwise. You also have the option to choose fresh milk or milk powder, which is quite nice. I tried the mango tapioca jasmine green tea and my boyfriend tried the brown sugar tapioca oolong tea. Both were pretty good! Rich steeped teas with a good ratio of milk to tea. The homemade tapioca had a good chewy texture to it and had a pleasant aftertaste. If you've ever had "Lot 100 gummies" before, the aftertaste subtly reminded me of those gummy candies. I tried the passion fruit juice with tapioca and jelly. I found the drink overall too sweet to my liking even though I put no extra sugar in the drink. Tapioca was nice and chewy with brown sugar flavor. I suspect the surgaryness is from the tapioca. They could make it less sweet. Flavor of passion fruit was nice though. Apart from that, I wouldn't really come back to try their other drinks. Bubble tea joints are overstaturating the market. Especially at Pacific mall. This location is located close to the center of pacific mall in the lower level. I love the texture of their homemade tapiocas. They're very chewy and flavourful. It is definitely different from regular tapiocas. I love the chewiness in it. I usually order their grapefruit tea with 30% sugar. It comes with real slices of grapefruit inside the drink. It actually tastes fresh and not powdered like many other bubble tea places. Drinks are quite refreshing! Can't wait to try more drinks & for more locations to open up! I wanted to try their tapioca as it's hand made (brown sugar/strawberry/mango flav for the day). Seems like brown sugar is very popular as it was sold out already when I went at 4pm on a Monday. Though I did see a lot of people order the rainbow which is a mix of all. I got the mr. Sun green tea from the recommended list as it was more attractive to me, hoping I can add the tapioca. The server suggested it's best not to add any so I went with that... Glad I took his advice. The Mr sun green tea is basically made with alcohol free heneiken. I got it with 25% sugar and 25% ice. Perfect sweetness and coldness to the drink. You get the hop taste which you get from beer. It is really good! You do get the beer taste without that alcohol! The reason why I said I'm glad I didn't get tapioca? Well, can you imagine drinking beer with tapioca?? Exactly! Been here dozens of times since they've opened and I have to say I'm never disappointed! After trying out about half of their menu, I can easily say this is probably the best bubble tea shop I've tried in the GTA. I love how they have such a wide variety of drinks and customization options! I particularly enjoy their tea lattes, cheese foam teas, and fruit teas. With most bubble tea shops I have a specific go-to drink... but with Mr. Sun I can easily try out new things without worrying about whether I will like it or not, especially because nearly everything is on par with each other in terms of quality. For toppings, their tapioca is absolutely amazing - they're on the chewier, stickier side but personally I enjoy it that way. I also love how the tapioca is handmade and not too sweet, plus they have multiple flavours you can pair with your drink (brown sugar, strawberry, mango). On top of that, if you're looking for even more unique tapioca flavours, they have temporary ones that rotate out quite frequently! In terms of service, most of the workers are friendly and knowledgable on the menu so if you're ever looking for suggestions I wouldn't hesitate to ask. I got the taro latte with strawberry tapioca. Tapioca is a bit on the softer side, I enjoyed the strawberry flavour. I found their tapioca to be strong in flavour compared to Onezo. The taro latte is made of real taro which is always a treat! Remember when all taro drinks were made using the purple powder? We've come a long way! (I like both types of drinks though tbh). I am on a bubble tea binge with the roster of new bubble tea places in Toronto. Mr. Sun is located inside pacific mall, which is already filled with bubble tea options. They have found their footing in this super competitive bubble tea landscape with their special tapioca and super milky drinks. Like Onezo, they offer uniquely flavored tapioca. When I visited, they were offering strawberry, mango, and brown sugar. The flavors of the tapioca is not strong, but the texture is quite different. They are a lot softer with a slight chewiness compared to the typical tapioca found at other places. I tried the red sun special, it is a strawberry milk drink with strawberry tapioca. I liked the fresh strawberry taste, however, it was a little too creamy for me. I loved the first half of my drink, but the second half was very difficult to get through. Overall, pretty good quality, good selection of flavors and toppings, but not going to be my go-to bubble tea place. read more

Bubble tea place that's like no other in Pacific mall. They have really good bubble tea. They create their own original tapioca's, jelly's, n puddings. What makes them unique aside from original tapioca, is that they use fresh ingredients, teas are made fresh too. I had the chance to try their special drinks and boy were they all really tasty n refreshing. The Grapefruit tea, the Mango with their own Konjac jelly, the red sun special has a strawberry cheesecake taste, and best of all, their mr sun special, original tea with zero alcohol Heineken! They had me at handmade tapioca! Mr. Sun is located on the North side of Pmall on the second right aisle. If you're familiar with the mall, it's in front of The Face Shop & next to the new locations of Missha. I ordered the Passionfruit Green Tea with mango tapioca and the Strawberry Milk Tea with strawberry tapioca. The actual tea flavour was great, however I am slightly disappointed that the Strawberry Milk Tea is supposedly flavoured by the strawberry tapioca. The tapioca itself has very little flavour as it's supposed to get its "flavouring" by sitting in a fruit syrup. Nevertheless, it's delicious! They also make their teas with 50% sugar--making sure they're not too sweet. If you get 0% sugar the tea will also taste slightly sweet, as the tapioca is soaked in syrup. I'm intrigued to try the Mr. Sun Tea which has 0% Heineken. Until next time! read more
