Located on the top floor of pacific mall! Been meaning to try this place and finically did! I got the "low caffiene" option, still delicious. It was early enough that I didn't have to wait long but the line up of people were starting to build up. It does get quite busy on a weekend but worth it!!

Decided to try this place on a whim as I was visiting the newly opened Tycoon Tofu nearby for a yelp community week event. I had heard that the condensed milk coffee and the egg coffee were their signature drinks and also happen to be the most popular drinks according to the girl who served me. I got myself a cold egg coffee and she told me it would take about 10 mins to make which gave me time to take pics of the menu and the store signage. The coffee tasted excellent. Very creamy, smooth and the coffee was strong with a mellow curl/bitterness. Almost reminded me of tiramisu in drink form. Maybe this is what they were going for? HOWEVER, at ~ $8 (after tax) for what was basically medium, I can't say this drink is worth it. It's a novelty for sure. Something special you get rarely (like once in a while). It's the cost of a large bbt at the Alley (and you get toppings at the Alley LOL). My gf's friend told me the cold coffees used to be like 4.99 pre-inflation. Ironically, I feel like with the amount of ice in the drink, 4.99 is an appropriate current pricing. Quality-wise, 5 stars. Because of the price I have to drop a star. I'll probably be back to try the condense milk coffee (the other signature drink). But after that, it might be awhile before I revisit.

This is the best viet coffee spot in Markham that we've found yet. Only tasted their Vietnamese coffee items and not their non-coffee drinks so I can't comment on those. I would say that sometimes drinks can take as long as 15-20 minutes when they are very busy so be prepared to wait on weekends. T

So after visiting Vietnam a few times and trying the egg coffee in Hanoi, I can honestly say the egg coffee here is very comparable. When I returned on a weekend around lunch there was a short line. It's a small shop. There is a small counter seating area enough room for 2-3 people. When ordering the egg coffee I was warned it would take 15 minutes to make so do come here to order first before wandering around the many shops and food options. The egg coffee here is simply the best. The egg foam is thick, creamy, and has the perfect sweetness. Tho I find there is way more egg foam to coffee ratio. I've also tried their cococcino which is coconut coffee and it's good, but not as good as the ones in Vietnam. I'll continue to stick with the egg coffee here.

I visited Dắk Lắk Vietnamese Coffee with my friends for a strong coffee that would wake me up. You could say that I am a regular since I visit this place whenever I am at the Pacific Mall. Due to the many stores that are next to each other, you might miss it, so you have to look for the wooden signage with the cafe's name, as well as the monitor that advertises their egg coffee. We got the usual large cold Condensed Milk Coffee to go. The payment was a breeze, and we waited at the small waiting area to the right side of the shop. In a few minutes, the staff quickly handed us the coffee. I love how their coffee is consistently very strong, and the condensed milk gives it the creamy sweetness that complements the bitterness well. The overall value was great, and I would recommend this place to anyone who needs a quick pick-me-up.

Creamy sweet coffee, perfect to sustain you as you walk through alllll the shops in Pacific Mall. Adorable cat theme, quick service, would go again!

What a hidden gem this place is. Located on second level in pacific mall. I usually get the egg coffee here. It's like a tiramisu with a strong shot of Vietnamese coffee at the bottom after you get through the sweet and creamy texture of the beaten egg and condensed milk. Be patient! This drink does take 10 minutes to make. Such a treat to have after a light meal. The decoration around the coffee shop almost reminds you of food stalls in Vietnam. Service here is friendly. This place offers many other drinks as well.

A little Vietnamese coffee/dessert shop located in the Pacific mall. Located on the second floor, by the other food shops. We ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee - loved how strong the coffee was, not too milky or sweet. I saw they also make egg coffee, would be down to try that next time.

    Thai green tea.

I come here for their Thai iced tea (regular and the green tea one) whenever I visit Pacific Mall. My tea orders are always with less/no sugar and no ice. However, I just noticed that they do charge extra for no ice. I also tried their Vietnamese coffee during this visit. 1) Thai Green Tea I don't see a lot of places offering a green tea version of Thai iced tea (maybe I haven't looked that much) but I find myself enjoying this version than the original red one. The tea itself is flavourful and fragrant and I do love green tea (probably why I like this one more). It has been awhile since I had the regular Thai iced tea though so perhaps I will try it on my next visit. 2) Vietnamese Iced Coffee I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I've been meaning to try this drink for awhile. I enjoyed it very much and it was nice and hot. The condensed milk wasn't too strong and complemented the coffee really well. We had to wait about five minutes for the drink but they make it fresh.

There are two Dak Lak locations, one in PMall and the other located on College & Spadina. We were at the PMall location. We ordered the famous Vietnamese egg coffee and Durian Lover, a dessert drink with assortment of mixed jelly. If you order a large Durian Lover, they add a dollop of Durian on top. We were very impressed with the unique egg coffee. It tastes like a less sweet Cadbury cream egg. The bitter coffee at the end perfectly balances the creamy, eggy top. The server took about 10mins or to prepare the egg coffee so it seems like a labour-intensive process. So I say worth the premium price point. She was also kind enough to be invited to sit in her little shop, which could seat two. It's much appreciated given there are hardly any seats available given one side of the food court is closed because of the fire.

Once the lone cafe in Pacific Mall serving Vietnamese-style coffee, this spot is still going strong. (I see there's another cafe opened nearby north-side entrance on main floor) Due to the prep time for egg coffee (10min), I always end up getting the iced condensed milk coffee. The rest of the menu remains a mystery to me, but given the top-notch quality and the buzz from the condensed milk coffee, I'm sure everything else is just as fantastic. Their coffee has that robust kick reminiscent of old-school Vietnamese coffee. It's not the modern, subtle taste or aroma that places like Cong Caphe offer. I love how it stays classic in this way. Comparing Cong Caphe and Dak Lak is like comparing night and day. I wouldn't dare judge between them. Dak Lak excels in delivering that bold, traditional punch, while Cong Caphe brings a modern twist with a warm, welcoming vibe. It's like asking whether you prefer mom or dad. Both are great, just in different ways.

Very small cafe, wish it were bigger. But their coffee grounds were fresh. The cafe sua da was perfect for me, didnt taste artificial at all.

This Cafe is located inside Pacific mall, on the top floor/ food court inside the "heritage village" on the right hand side. To get here, take the escalator in the middle of the main floor. I had the Vietnamese egg coffee for the first time. For some reason I was told I had to wait 10 minutes for the order... ‍ Here is what to expect: it's $6.99 for a small. There is a thick top layer of a dense, whipped, smooth, creamy foam which tastes like tiramisu. Likely that is your sweetened whipped egg. Below is an espresso tasting coffee which I don't believe had any sugar. If you drink it without the lid, you will be sucking the thick creamy whipped foam most of the time because you can't tip it enough to get the coffee below. If you close the lid, then you will be able to tip it enough to get the coffee into your mouth without the foam pouring all over your face. TIP: I would suggest that you stir or shake the coffee inside the cup in order to mix the foam with the coffee to get that sweetened creamy coffee taste, unless you would like to enjoy the creamy foam separately. Either way it was a fun experience and I would have it again and recommend it to my friends, especially if they like tiramisu!

The Origin is a bit sad these days. I was here last Saturday, taking in a flick at the Cineplex. This mall has seen better days. These major players are no longer at this mall: - South Street Burger with La Diperie - Me Va Me Express - Kiu Japanese Restaurant After the movie was over, I felt like a drink. Chatime is still around. However, there must have been fifteen people in the store, waiting for their drinks. I remembered this Lucullus bakery that was next door to the late South Street Burger. I had never been to this location in downtown Markham. I have been to the one on Yonge Street, south of Finch Avenue West. That store had beverages, so I'm sure that this one did, too. You enter and exit using the external doors. You cannot access the mall through this bakery. I opened the door. I was not expecting to walk into a time warp. It felt old-world European, in a period that I was unfamiliar with, but it felt like I knew it instantly being here. I loved the small tiffany lamps that were in front of the coffee area. So quaint! I hit the bakery section. I got a tray that oddly looked far more modern than the interior. I also got a pair of tongs. Just past 6 pm, I was expecting slim pickings with the baked goods offerings. Surprisingly, there were a number of croissants and buns available. My haul consisted of these items: - Curry beef puff - Tuna bao - Chocolate croissant - Luncheon meat bao - Corn and ham bao - Beef bao These six items barely fit on my wooden tray. I found the drinks. They were in the fridge. I got a chrysanthemum flower honey tea. I approached the counter. I got a helpful woman. She asked me if I needed a bag. I said yes. I hadn't expected to come here to get a bunch of baked goods and a drink. I'm glad that I did. I got a straw for my drink. I paid with a credit card. There was a 25-cent transaction charge when you use your debit or credit card here. It didn't bother me, as I rarely have cash on hand. I thanked her, took my bag of yumminess and my drink, and headed to the elevators to fetch my car in the underground lot. I'll start with the chrysanthemum flower honey tea. It's exceptionally Chinese. I grew up sipping it when I had a sore throat. I loved how it tasted. It had the perfect tea strength with a touch of honey. The downside was that the flower in this tea was a choking hazard when I sucked it through the straw. I ended up straining my drink at home to prevent myself from coughing up a lung again. I loved my baked goods haul. Everything was delicious. Thoughts about each one: - Curry beef puff - Flaky. It had the best curry beef filling. - Tuna bao - A lot of tuna filling. Tasty! - Chocolate croissant - It was divine with dark chocolate. It does have black sesame seeds on it. - Luncheon meat bao - Yummy. It would be better if it had egg paired with it. - Corn and ham bao - So good! It had a lot of corn balanced with the salty ham cubes, mixed with mayo. - Beef bao - It was delicious that I took a bite and didn't think about taking a photo of the bao in its intact glory. A definite bao winner. I'd return for more good eats. This store apparently has meals that I'd like to try. Despite how sad it was seeing a few businesses close down at this mall, I am thrilled that this bakery is kicking around. I'm glad that I finally visited it. I'll be back for more! (182)

Every time I saw this annoying change, I'd ask Yelp to change it back to Whole Foods Market because the entire listing is devoted to the supermarket. I frequent it often. I am not just checking into the coffee bar when I'm there. It's the market that I am checking into, which houses this coffee bar. Last week, the business name for Whole Foods Market in Markham changed to WFM Coffee Bar twice. WTH?! After seeing that change yesterday, I had had it. I decided to not only have Yelp change the listing back to the formal market name, I recommended having a new listing for WFM Coffee Bar. Leave the original one for the market as intended. Create a new one for the coffee bar so that I can stop making requests to change the name back to what it should be. The Yelper who is constantly asking for this listing can now use this one and everyone can live happily ever after. Yelp did it. This listing is for the coffee bar. To the Yelper who needs it, please use it. This solution is so much better than Yelp making a lazy, erroneous change to an existing business. Simple. Here's the actual review of this coffee bar... WFM Coffee Bar is located inside Whole Foods Market. You get there by entering the main doors and hanging a right. Walk all the way down, past the self-checkout kiosks. The cafe is after the kiosks and before you hit the sushi counter. You can get coffees, lattes, iced teas and coffees, snacks, and more here. It also does smoothies. I like that it offers dairy-free beverage alternatives, such as almond beverage. You can also get nut substitutes in your smoothies, such as almond butter. The substitutes are an added charge and can add up if you go crazy with them. This cafe also features gift ideas for your coffee or drink-loving friends. I have seen everything from mugs, to drinkware and noodle bowls with chopsticks. If you can't get enough of your coffee, you can buy bags of coffee beans. It may be cheaper to brew your own coffee creations if you can't get to this bar by 6 pm. You can sit down and enjoy your drinks and snacks that you bought from this bar. There are chairs and seats in front of this bar, closest to the windows. Otherwise, grabbing your beverage and snacks is perfectly fine if you need to dash. I am thrilled that this listing is available. I look forward to not seeing the Whole Foods Market listing for Markham change. We have a dedicated business listing for this coffee bar at long last. If you're looking for Roasted Seeds (beans) or Green Seeds, this is the "go to" place to get some! (Btw, coffee beans aren't beans, they're seeds, the seed of the coffee cherry. The flesh of the coffee cherry is removed and the seeds are "processed" into what we generally call "beans", but they're seeds!) Dark City has a wide variety of seeds, sourced thru distribution, but I think they also source them directly with the coffee plantations as well. If you want to support coffee growers more directly, then buy from here. The seeds are roasted to order! If you buy from Grocery stores, Costco, whatever, they'll all post an expiry date on their coffee. Expiry dates are stupid. Why? Well, as a person who buys Green seeds from Dark City and roasts his own coffee, I can tell you that I can tell the difference between "freshly roasted", like yesterday, and 3 week old coffee seeds. At 3 weeks, you can see that the crema isn't as visible or doesn't form as frothy and dissipates quickly. The taste is slightly less pungent (I drink espressos, black) and, like I said, I can begin to taste the difference @ 3 weeks. At 4 weeks, I can tell more and, as a rule, I try to roast enough coffee so that it lasts just over a month. That way, I can limit my roastings to 12 times a year. (Preferably, I would roast every week, but who drinks that much coffee and who has the time?) I can say much more but, be assured, at Dark City, you're getting farmer sourced seeds from Dave that better helps the farmers and you're getting expert roasters (like Kevin) who take pride in the quality of their work. Say hi to Julie when you pick up your order! I've tried finding another place like Dark City in the Metro Toronto area. I haven't found one. For parking, park across the street, that's what I do, cause they don't have enough.
