The staff was friendly and tried to help me solve an issue with their online ordering app. My favourite drink is the Triple Supreme Matcha Latte for a rich, creamy matcha drink. Parking might be an issue as there are not that many parking spots and will need to wait for a spot during peak dinner times and on the weekend. Also, there are no seats inside so its not the best place to hang out with friends and people usually cluster outside to enjoy the drinks. read more

Came to find out what the hype was about. HeyTea is a global bubble tea chain that's now the buzz locally. We visited their Scarborough location on a weekend afternoon and immediately noticed a crowd gathered outside. We ordered the large Mango Coconut Boom ($10.49), a refreshing drink comprised of coconut milk, mango cuts, soft fresh sago, coconut milk jelly and a subtle green tea base. Not only did the creative drink look visually appealing but the flavour profile was also unique: a more refined version of mango sago combined with coconut all in one sip. You pay a premium here as even regular size is $7.99 while we opted to upsize. There were over a dozen drinks prepared at the counter including cheese grape, matcha blue cloud, and their monthly drink. You can either order via app from the QR code on their door or lineup inside as we did. Service moved quickly despite the crowd, and we waited about 15 minutes for our drink. They had a big team of 7 workers moving like an assembly line, making the dozens of drinks in their queue. There is no seating area so we took our drinks to-go. Skip it or hit it? Definitely my go-to spot for drinks in Scarborough. I noticed they had a new drink on the menu and wanted to give it a try. As a bonus, they were running a promotion for members where I could use my Sparks points for a BOGO offer, which made the visit even better. They are suuuper busy, even on weekdays. We didn't have the app so we ordered in store and it took quite a while, so definitely order on the app if you can! There are a few seats along the wall if you wanted to enjoy it there, but I'd say it is generally a grab & go place. They have so many different options on the menu, it was hard to choose! I opted for the Hot Jasmine Milk Tea. My normal order at other BBT places are no sugar, but they weren't able to do that with this drink. It took a while for us to get our order because there were several orders ahead of us. It was worth the wait though! The tea is very fragrant. I can see why so many people enjoy it. The sugar level also worked well with the drink and made it very enjoyable. Personally, I would like less milk in my drink. Although the jasmine was very aromatic, it was not strong in taste. The shop is small and always crowded, you are better off ordering in advance on the app and going in the store when it's ready to avoid the wait and crowd. It seems they have changed the packaging to the more classic bubble tea cup now which I don't mind but I think it looks less aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. At this specific location I found the matcha wasn't as fresh as it had a strong bitter aftertaste. The service at pickup also could be improved, they don't call out numbers when the drinks are ready. I really like Hey Tea, it's quickly become one of my favorite spots. My favorite are the Crispy Grape and Mango drinks. I first came during their grand opening BOGO promotion and have returning since. Despite the high volume of customers, the line moves efficiently, and the service remains well organized. During the grand opening, the line extended outside, and it was quite cold but a staff member kindly handed out hot water, which was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. They always have plenty of staff working, which helps keep wait times reasonable even during busy periods. I also appreciate the design of their matcha caps you can either use a straw or drink directly from the lid, and it seals completely when needed. Overall, a great experience every time. read more

Make sure you download the app ahead of time to order via app, the wait in store is long. We ordered via app, and it took around 20 minutes for the drink to be ready. When the notification came through, we made our way to the store. It was packed. After making my way through the crowd, the staff were so busy making drinks they didn't take any time to look up at all the people waiting to pickup. The table was full of drinks ready to be picked up, but it was just bottle necked by the lack of staff assisting with pickups. This was for both app orders and in store orders. Have heard so much about this place. Mainly the long lineups at the Yonge Street location (just north of College). We stopped by the Scarborough location at Midland and Finch. There was a steady stream of people ordering and even more ordering via the app and then picking up. We counted at least 7 people behind the counter. The app is amazing and very user friendly. Drinks are more on the expensive side...7.50 and up and this is without the toppings. The cheapest drink on the menu is the jasmine tea at just under 5 bucks. Names of drinks are interesting. What was ordered: Coconut Mango Boom - very creamy almost like a milk shake Passion Fruit Blast When we ordered, the app indicated there were 23 orders ahead of us...yes...this is how busy it gets and this is how good the app is. Was it good? Yes the drinks were very good but at these prices this would be a more expensive habit than Starbucks. Regardless we would consider another visit to try something different. read more

hey tea 2nd location, compared to the downtown location super tiny. The layout is a little awkward when you walk right in, there's people waiting for their order and ordering. Plus numerous people ordering online pickup. Menu is not displayed on TV only infront of cashier, they need some sort of mic or number display for numbers. first time we waited 40 minutes for our order, second time 20 minutes. I highly recommend the Mango Cloud, the mango grapefruit is good too. Do not recommend the Matcha latte but the matcha foam is good, the latte itself just did not have good flavour. Honestly just not my thing at all. Very popular so very crowded. I could barely walk through the building to get my drink. I pre-ordered and it took 30-40mins at 10pm which is insane to me. It was like $20-30 for like 2 drinks??? The matcha latte was way too strong for my taste. I think the ratios are kind of off, and it was a little bit sour as well. I would definitely try their other drinks, but the matcha made me stop drinking matcha for a while because every time I thought about it, I'd gag. I got a massive headache from it too. read more

Came here during my visit to Toronto earlier in the month - They were packed - as they just recently opened this location. Space seemed pretty tight - place was well lit, and pretty clean Service at the register was reasonably fast, waiting for our drinks was a different story, just like the location in Vancouver - they just take a really long time per drink. Tried the Cloud crisp grape, as my normal drink wasn't on their menu from what I could see. - honestly didn't really like it , I felt like too much ice was used, so the drink was very chunky and hard to get through the straw, I ended up using a spoon when I got back home. Flavor wise was pretty weak, again most likely from over using too much ice, resulting in a pretty watered down taste! I'd probably skip a re-visit as there is plenty of things I want to try on my next Toronto Visit. read more

Came here for their grand opening and they had 1/2 price bubble tea! Each drink is about $9 normally and we had the chance to try Mango pomelo boom and matcha supreme latte. Both were pretty good. They had a long queue for the promotion but the staff handled it well. The back counter had many people working they organized well and even had training going on at that time. As for the drink itself, the base is jasmine green tea and it came with mango chunks, coconut milk jelly and sago. The mango chunks and milk jelly were both soft and sweet and the sago added texture to the drink. Overall, it is a great summer drink and isn't overly sweet. Got the seasonal special Mulberry Boom and it was pretty good. The wait was not too bad at 10pm in the evening on a Saturday night. A lot of people who ordered after me received their drinks first so not sure what the drink making algorithm is... The service there was interesting. The staff member taking orders was kinda rude and blunt and later when I was waiting for my drink, her coworker even mentioned that she could be more polite when taking orders. She hee hee ha ha'ed it off and was like thats not who I am. Interesting. Anyway the menu could have the ice and sugar levels written out for easier ordering since different shops have different ways to label different sugar levels. They were working really hard to get everyone's order done. I would say it was pretty organized, they have a good system going. Someone helped get your order ready by asking what you want while you're in the line. They marked it on the paper so it was ready for the cashier. Both drinks were really good, flavour wise. They are on the pricier side, but the mango grapefruit bloom came with some coconut jelly (the white kind) and the supreme brown sugar came with boba. So in the end, it wasn't too bad of a price. The size was also a little smaller, but I feel all boba shops are cutting down their sizes nowadays... The grand opening menu was limited, so I can't wait to see what their full menu will look like.
