Kung Fu always has good specials, and usually they have several options to choose from. I got a large drink with toppings for $4.80, so this is a great deal in 2024. When I went, this store was very busy but the wait time was pretty short. The store isn't the cleanest and also one of the person making bubble tea inadvertently flung bubble tea juices everywhere when he was shaking a bubble tea. There is a kiosk to order in the front. The app also didn't work (couldn't add payment method) when I went.

This franchise/brand isn't the same as the states and I was pleasantly surprised by all of the selections! They had a kiosk to order but it took too long to scroll through and there was no line, so the staff took our orders and we took our time but the staff were friendly and helpful! Ambiance was also nice and vibrant and had a decent amount of seating and people sitting and chatting. All of the teas we tried were on point and the boba were soft and chewy. Solid 4 star all around!

My rating is 3.5 stars. I'm rounding down. In mid-July, I was in Chinatown for a few hours. I had grabbed a takeout order nearby and was heading over to my car that was parked on a side street by Chinatown Centre. I passed by this Kung Fu Tea. Bubble tea sounded like a great idea on a hot summer evening. I walked in with my dinner in tow. It was busy. Most tables and seats were taken. I lined up to place my order. The wait was perhaps ten minutes at most. When it was my turn, I had wanted a pineapple iced tea. The woman at the counter said the store was out of pineapple. Huge bummer! I looked at the rather extensive menu. I asked if she had strawberry. She did. I got a large strawberry iced tea (no sugar and less ice) with coconut jelly instead. I paid with a debit card. I tapped and was good. I then stood off to the side and waited patiently for my drink. It was around 7:30 pm when I was here. The wait took a good ten minutes. Luckily, the table next to me had freed up, so I placed my food down. My arm was getting tired holding it for at least twenty minutes at this stage. My drink was finally ready. I thanked the woman, took it and my straw, and headed to my car. I had it with my dinner in my car. My tea was refreshing. The ice cubes had melted by the time I started sipping it, but it was still cold. My favourite strawberry tea is still at CoCo, where you get real strawberry bits in it. This one was yummy, but did not contain a whole lot of fruit in it. I liked the coconut jelly, which was chewy and perfect. Other than the crazy wait time, it's a decent bubble tea joint. I'd return when I'm back in this area, hopefully when it's not that busy. (339)

I heard about this tea place for a while. Is it wrong time or wrong place? The drink here isn't good. Service was bad. Waiting for a drink was soo long. It wasn't that busy. The brown sugar tea was overly sweet. The drink was warm. Boba was not good. Not good pricing for the quality.

This teashop has been my go to in the past. I like the space provided for sit down, and the relaxing atmosphere. The other nice aspect is that they have a decent menu selection of drinks. My all time favorite has been mango green tea with the various jelly toppings. However, I find that during my recent visits, the drinks that I have ordered, have been sweeter than usual, even though I don't ever add sugar. Don't know what changed. I ended up adding more water to dilute the drink. It gives me pause for thought about ordering drinks at kung fu tea, when there are so many bbt shops to try.

Why haven't I tried this place before?! I'm mad at myself. I first heard of it when I was in Boston for PAX East because they were advertising a special Final Fantasy "Yuna & Tidus" drink. Never got the chance to try it because the lines were chaos. Then when we were driving over to the usual Green P that we park at when we go to the Chinatown area, I spotted the Kung Fu Tea and told my boyfriend we have to try their tea/drinks this time! He got a basic milk tea with Tapioca and I got a Passionfruit green tea with Tapioca. Boy was the tea there great... It wasn't too bitter but not too sweet for a green tea, which I loved! And the tapioca was super caramely and just delicious! Probably the best tapioca I've had ever from a bubble tea shop. It also seemed like it was freshly made because they were still hot in the cup. Definitely coming back for more green tea!

Best bubble tea place in Chinatown! Kung Fu Tea is a relatively recent entrant into Toronto's bubble tea scene, and they are great at what they do. It's set up like a cafe, where you can take one of the tables and hang out with your friends. They also have free wi-fi available. Kung Fu Tea uses honey instead of sugar which is a huge plus, and a lot of their teas are prepared the modern style without powders. This results in more of a tea taste without seeming too much like a sugar drink. My favourite drink at Kung Fu Tea is their pearl milk tea with taro. Unlike other bubble tea places, their taro milk tea is made by adding real taro pieces into their original miilk tea. You can mix up the taro pieces to add a lot of depth and texture to the taste of the tea. It's much better than places that just mix taro flavour powder instead, and tastes amazing because Kung Fu Tea's original milk tea is delicious.

First time having cheese foam! It was surprisingly delicious. I got 0% honey green tea which was pretty bitter and not tasty. I liked the Boba in the bottom and cheese foam on top though. I also realized my mistake in getting toppings with my cheese drink which I ended up mixing after a few sips so I could make the black tea sweeter. Would highly recommend cheese foam to anyone. Very mild sweet cheese taste in a thick cream.

Really cute bubble tea shop with spacious seating and comfy atmosphere! Staff are friendly and helpful, they try to explain in detail what some of the less common drinks are. Drinks are all your standard bubble teas and they all taste great! The 1960 fruit tea was a surprise, it had a really unique citrus flavour to it. It tasted very refreshing and super fresh--it even had fresh fruit pieces floating inside. Come here for a nice place to hang out and drink bubble tea--you may find some new favourite flavours!

Walking down the street and yelping the nearest boba shop, I found this! It was the perfect little treat we needed right after eating dinner. I mean, when is it not? The setting appeared nice and modern, with clean tables and leather chairs. Probably not real leather, but okay. The decor was all cute'sy and stuff, but I didn't care; More frilly looking than ornate. But besides that, I just knew it was a calming place to relax. Our tea drinks: ~ Uji Matcha Latte ($4.40cad) with coconut, pearls, and some ice. So delightful! I boba was perfect. Not too hard, not too soft. Freshly made I feel. And I'm glad the honey wasn't overpowering with sweetness. You can feel, smell, and taste the matcha tea! ~ Rose Milk Tea ($4.40cad) with Agar Bubble, half the honey, and less ice. Not bad either! Very very fragrant and light with every sip. Really girly imo, but it wasn't my drink anyways. Definitely made like the teas made in the Bay Area. I can only imagine it with lychee, mmm! Overall, I enjoyed kicking it here. It wasn't too loud, nor quiet. The drinks were of excellent quality at a high price. The cashier helping us was cordial and helpful. No issues with service. So with my next Toronto visit, I'll likely come back to try something different!

Decided to try a local Bubble Tea spot in the area instead of the regular Coco's, and Kung Fu Tea popped up on Google map. Walked in here, clean, quiet spot, quite a selection of drinks, ended up getting the Matcha Milk Tea & Passion Fruit Green Tea with Sago; as we were ordering, we were told that they do not currently have tapioca, and I didn't want a "bubble" tea drink without tapioca, so was suggested I wait 10 mins for it, and I did. Also, with the matcha milk tea, I couldn't find it on the menu and I asked for a matcha milk tea, but was not told that it comes with red beans, although I suppose I should have checked my receipt upon receiving it; I like the taste of red bean however it was heavy, and wasn't something I wanted at that moment, so -1. The passion fruit bubble tea was good, a little too sweet for my liking, but refreshing. Price: I didn't mind paying around $6.50/regular sized drink since they also use honey instead of sugar as the sweetener here, however the drinks did not live up to my expectation, first, since I wasn't in the mood for the red beans, and secondly, since I waited around for the tapioca, would have appreciate a little more than there was in my drink, found it to be minimal. Nice spot, however I think I'll stick to my regular bubble tea locations.

I was in the area and feeling for some bubble tea, and my trusted Yelp App told me this was the closest location. It looked new and clean, and reviews looked good, so I gave it a try. I'm glad that I did because it was pretty good. I ordered the "38 Milk Tea" regular size ($4.60), which is milk tea with agar jelly, grass jelly (aka mesona jelly), and tapioca pearls. They use honey to sweeten their tea here, instead of sugar. You can customize the amount of honey and the amount of ice. I don't like my drinks all that sweet, so I chose 30% of the regular sweetness. I like my drinks cold, but not full of ice, so I chose 70% of the regular amount of ice. This combination was actually perfect for my tastes. The agar jelly and grass jelly were the right consistency, and the tapioca pearls were good too, chewy, but not mushy. The drink was milker than at most places, which I didn't mind, and it had a strong tea flavour to it, which I really liked. Service was friendly and efficient. I would go back :)

Today is the soft opening of Kung Fu Tea and I had to try their bubble tea. There's a BOGO promo going on from now until May 25 - the BOGO drink changes every few days (see the flyer I uploaded). I got the pearl milk tea, half sweet and light ice. The tea was delicious! You can tell that it's a really good quality Taiwanese tea and even at half sweet, it was sweet enough for me. The bubble to tea ratio was perfect. The bubbles (tapioca pearls) were chewy without falling apart. The service was excellent - the server even wiped down the sides of the cups before handing them to me. I can't wait to go back and try their other teas. Just tried their agar bubble grapefruit green tea - I ordered it half sweet with no ice. The agar bubbles were not my thing, the texture was strange and had an extra chewy/bouncy feeling when you bite into it. The green tea with grapefruit went really well together, there was even real grapefruit pulp. It did leave an acidic feeling in my mouth though. I'm not sure if I'll order it again. Their kung fu mascot/logo is really cute too. They have a huge one displayed outside the store and the interior decor was clean and sleek, with their mascot on the walls along with some Chinese writing that I can't read. Oh, there's also a free milk tea event on May 10, so don't miss out!

But it's the tapioca that really makes the drink shine with how fresh and bouncy they are. For a tea shop, this place also has really good food. Tried the scones and they were super buttery, very flavourful, and were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like all great scones. We also got some Filipino meals - the lechon kawali and lumpia super crispy, the bangsilog had a good portion size for the price, and the halo-halo was refreshing. Place is mainly a takeout spot, but there are a couple of small tables to sit 4. Service is friendly. Tea offerings are extensive. Worth a drop-by.
