3.5 stars as the crew slowly settles in and learns the craft. This is a new shop in the Steelestech food plaza slowly gaining clients. There is plenty of parking out front and a small lot just east of the shop. The lobby is quite large and will be interesting to see how the seating situation will be once the province is fully reopened. The menu wall is quite extensive and will take a little while to get a good understanding of what you truly want. The ordering experience needs a little work as the partition barrier blocks 90% of everything being communicated. Good barrier for the transmission of the virus and so too your voice. The echo of the music does not help matters much also. The order took 20 minutes beginning to end with one order ahead of me. This review marks my 1,400th one. Crazy! It's fitting that I would do a bubble tea place, as it describes how I tick. Kung Fu Tea has been around for months. Across from it is my local Scotiabank branch. I visit the drive-thru often to withdraw money, and go into the branch now and again. Every time I visit the bank, I flag getting bubble tea someday, but never go in. Why? Parking is limited, this parking lot isn't exactly crafted for safety, and there has been construction happening here for at least a year. The other night, I visited the drive-thru ABM, saw plenty of parking spots on a rainy Monday night, and decided to drop by Kung Fu Tea for the first time. I used to come here when there was a ramen restaurant a couple of doors down. It has since been replaced several times. I couldn't tell you what it is now! I walked into Kung Fu Tea and was greeted by an illuminated logo of a kung fu master and words of wisdom that looked like a kid had put each letter on a fridge door, except that it was a wall and it's permanent. I saw that there was a back-to-school deal on passion fruit green tea. Get a large for $3.99. Sold! There was one couple ahead of me. This place is bright, quaint, cozy, and clean. When it was my time to order, I entered my phone number on the touch pad for Vicinity points. Yay! The woman helping me with my order was cheerful and happy. I placed my order, and got my passion fruit green tea with no honey (it's honey and not sugar) and a bit of ice. I also got coconut jelly. It came to being over $5. I paid using my debit card and patiently waited for my beverage. This place has bubble waffles. I need to get one next time I'm here. I had just had dinner, so I wasn't down for a snack. The couple ahead of me ordered a number of drinks to go. A few minutes after they had left, my order was ready. I loved my drink. The passion fruit is blended finely. You don't drink pulp, but you know that it's real fruit when you see the residue. Its taste was fresh and bright. The coconut jelly had the perfect sweetness and chewiness. Went in and omg we got to sit a bit to chill!!! Obviously with a mask on of course. My experience if there were ppl trying to record a clip and it got a lil annoying and I left half way. Always love their spring fruit tea, they never let me down. I love it the spring tea cause it's full of fruits and it has chia seed like no other fruit teas. I had their chocolate egg waffle today and like other chocolate waffle they batter is made with cocoa. But would I like get another one or try other flavors don't think so. It took forever to order. My husband had to give his order and correct it 3 times. He had to point at the screen. I ordered the mango, less sweet, they added brown sugar. How many times can I say no. I was tired of waiting And went with it. Big mistake, it was gross. Mine went into the garbage. That was a waste of $7.00. Ma's Tea Suggestion?! One day, I was craving bubble tea and I wanted to order some from UberEats. My mom asked me how much it was, I told her the price, she freaked out. PRESENTATION - It's a modern little shop with high chair seating with an island and a good amount of regular tables and chairs. PROS - The tapioca is made from Asian rock candy (much healthier than other stuff that other shops use and I would know, rock candy (the Chinese one anyway) has been in my life forever; my mom always makes this rock candy jello dish when my tummy hurts LOL, ILHSM; meaning their tapioca is always fresh! Ice and sugar levels are customizable. The consistency amount in their sugar levels is pretty much the same amount of sweetness every time you order meaning, if you order 70% of sugar, you will always get the same amount of that 70% of sugar that you ordered previously, it won't taste sweeter or less than. CONS - The tables are usually very sticky due to the lack of cleanliness from the clientele, clean up after yourselves, people! FAVE EATS - I always order the pearl milk tea or just the milk tea (sometimes if I had a super heavy meal prior to, I'll forgo the tapioca), 50% sugar, same ice level and my fiancé would order the same but less ice. Had some pretty bad customer service here the other day. The staff behind the counter didn't really care to solve any problems that arose. It almost felt like this employee was leaving the next day and won't be returning to work. What is sad is that this place is located in a prime location for drinks pick-up. Although, the drinks were pretty average, it was convenient due to it being right next to Steeles. However, after this kind of customer service, you will definitely not find me here anymore. There are plenty of other bubble tea or boba stores around. For $7 on average a drink, it is worth driving to the next shop especially when the drive is only about 1-2 mins away. Right near Planet Fitness North Scarborough location, this place typically opens till 11:30 pm on week nights and midnight on weekends, perfect for an after workout refreshment!! They have a few 2-4 seaters near the window and a high top central counter for about 12 people right in the middle. Free wifi makes this a decent studying place as well, but it does not open late enough for me besides casual take out place after a gym session. Love the flavour of their Super Lite Fruit Tea, has 120% honey just because I love honey so much! Amazed at how they use honey on everything rather than sugar! Ingenious!! Also love the chia seeds, apple slices, orange and grapefruit that fills up about half of the cup. Still refreshing a second time around. Like their competitors, they give a point for every order and 5 would give you a free topping for example. Only caveat was that it was a bit steep. Kung Fu Tea (not to be confused with the New York based store) opened their 3rd location in Scarborough, not far from Pacific Mall had their soft opening with their 20% off all drinks. You can tell that it's a really good quality Taiwanese tea. The bubble to tea ratio was perfect. The tapioca pearls were chewy without falling apart. Their fruit teas are definitely better than their milk teas. What makes them better than other spots is the choice to use honey as a sweetener instead of sugar, and the unique toppings. It's unusual to find agar bubbles and agar jelly within the GTA, and I like the consistency! Goes well with the fresh flavour of citrus and green tea, where tapioca pearls pair better with rich milk teas. The tapioca pearls are great as well, though. The environment was nice and "Instagrammable". They got 3 different seating areas, a counter with high chairs, regular tables and chairs, and comfy seats surrounding a circular table. I loved this place from their Chinatown location and when I learnt that they were opening in my neighbourhood I was over the moon happy. They make some of the best drinks in Toronto and have many original flavours that you cannot find anywhere else. I particularly enjoy their grapefruit tea with agar bubble and their milk teas. Kung Fu Tea, I have seen quite a bit of them in the States but they have been recently popping up in Toronto. Going inside, is a nice ambiance for people to socialize and study. Our group went to this store (didn't look busy, had about 2 customers in line) but we decided to order using the app to avoid waiting in line. App confirmed our order to be ready in 20 minutes. We went to pick up our drinks as per set time, our orders were not ready. Only 3 drinks were complete by this time. We waited there for another 20 minutes watching walk in orders and uber orders of 1 or 2 drinks getting pumped out before ours. They kept asking us for our order number and then checks our drinks and tells us it's not ready. 3 different people had asked us! Yet nobody ended up making the last 3 drinks. They kept prioritizing walk ins who came after us because the drinks were easier to make! Finally, seeing our frustration, the girl comes up with a BS excuse that their machine that prints out the orders only printed half way, when in fact we could clearly see a list of all our orders already taped to the bag of the drinks previously completed and sitting there for over 15 mins. Also, if that were the case, how come nobody confirmed to us what drinks we were waiting for. It just got neglected. They finally quickly made the remaining drinks once all the walk ins are gone. The drinks came out diluted and mediocre because they've been sitting there for over 20 minutes while we waited for the remaining drinks to be made. Nevertheless, not going here again. Fun little shop on the corner of Silverstar and Steeles. This is a Taiwanese chain brought over to Toronto. They have all the usual assortment of milk teas and slushes but they all have a bit of a twist. Their chocolate float with ice cream is a very chocolatey milkshake sort of taste, good if you aren't quite ready to take the dive into regular milk teas. Their honey lemon aloe has a strong lemon taste which allows the contrasting honey taste to come out as not too overpowering. Their green tea matcha and red bean slush is as most other places, so if that's your go to, you'll enjoy it just the same. They also have a signature fruit tea with orange, dragon fruit, and some passion fruit in it that's a fun fruity refreshing taste. The staff is friendly and service is quite fast. There is ample space for small groups and couples to sit along with a long table with bar height seats for sitting. It's very bright and modern looking and it's about as loud as you'd expect from a small tea shop. It's got pretty quality drinks and I can't wait to try some more of their menu offerings. read more

Really tasty drinks! My husband and I like our beverages to be less sugary on a normal basis. We had the grapefruit green tea and the lychee green tea. They were both extremely tasty however, even requesting them without honey (their regular sweetener) they were still a bit on the sweeter side for us. I know most people wouldn't order the egg waffles anyways, but in case you decide to it is not with it. I'm also not a fan of their matcha red bean bubble tea. It has too much of a matcha taste to it if that makes sense. If you don't like honey, you probably won't be a fan of their milk tea as it has a strong taste of honey in it. read more
