I tried their very popular creme brulee milk tea with light sugar and I'll tell you to not order it with light sugar - it doesn't taste that good without the regular level of sweetness. The creme brulee on the top was a thick layer of torched cream that went smoothly with the drink. The staff were nice here and they have a few chairs if you want to sit and have your drink inside. This would be my second time trying out Machi Machi, I didn't know they had one at this plaza. I came with a friend on a weekday to grab a drink. We both got creme brulee black milk tea with gold pearl. They had a promo buy one get second half off which is awesome! The drink was quite creamy, love the creme brulee. The layout of the store doesn't seem like it's for people to hang out as there aren't chairs or tables but that was okay. Overall not bad, will definitely be back to try out their other drinks if there is a promo again. read more

As a Los Angeles native visiting Toronto, I was on the look out for boba places to visit that I wouldn't otherwise find back home. Machi Machi came on my radar as it seems to be a popular chain on the east coast. I couldn't find a Machi Machi in LA, so I decided to come here. I thought their drinks were very unique and different from what you'd find at a lot of boba places, especially in LA which is a large mecca of boba varieties to choose from. I went for the mochi black tea with cream foam since having mochi on a skewer sit in my drink was a new concept to me. Overall, I thought the idea was executed well. It was the right amount of sweetness and the mochi was a nice add on to the black tea. The cheese cream wasn't too thick that it dissolved well into the black tea. It is a bit expensive for boba, but since I was a tourist on vacation i was willing to spend a little more to try something different. If I were a local, I'd probably come here less if there were cheaper options around. Unfortunately, I didn't spend a lot of time in Toronto to go back a second time to try their other drinks. I was also intrigued by their panna cotta drinks which appear to be their best sellers. I'll definitely come back to Machi Machi if I'm in Toronto again or at one of their other locations. read more

It's so good and I hope they keep this on their permanent menu. I have been to almost all the GTA Machi Machi locations, and got to say this one is a bit run down. Be sure if your ordering from here walk in the drink can take anywhere from 10 - 45 mins to make. It really depends if they've received an influx of online orders. So i would order and then go walk around. Don't expect drinks to be ready right away. Aside from that the drinks are tasty. We ordered from their combo menu 2 drinks for $9.99. Got the Handmade brown sugar milk tea + Oolong Milk Tea. The tea infusion in both drinks was good. The quality and make def high from other tea places. Would def come here again. Please advise there is no sit and relax in this store. It's more of an order and go place. They do have the space for it but dont have anywhere to sit and relax. Tucked away in a small space is this Asian shop specializing in dessert drinks. Expect less sugar and more flavor. The strawberry latte with panna cotta delivered on just that! I've been resisting but I finally went.., in Toronto. LOL The lines in NYC for machi machi go crazy, but I finally get the hype. The matcha is probably one of the best chain bubble tea matchas Ive had. Very smooth and not too sweet, a lot of the matcha taste comes out. The panna cotta is also a light flavor (its similar to the pudding topping at other shops!) , so they work well together. The grapefruit slush was also one of the best Ive ever had. The jelly was AMAZING and definitely does not just taste out of a can. Very refreshing for a hot day with the natural pulp too! And there's a well protect plexiglass for the staff when placing order and making drinks. I'm glad they also added a microphone so it's easier to talk (and not shout). Drink Heard this place is pretty popular in Asia - with locations in Taiwan and Korea. The cute bottle captured my attention - but not necessary to get. It is plastic (not glass), so definitely can't withhold heat or hot drinks. Ordered the black tea panna cotta. It's an interesting fusion of an Italian dessert fusing with Taiwanese tea. Visually, it's nice and you gotta mix is hard with a straw to drink both layers. But I won't say it 'wowed' me that much. Maybe I'm not used to these kind of drinks, so I felt the combo of the two was a little weird. There were lumps inside, which also made it a little weird as well. The tea overall was okay, more a bit on the sweeter end (and you couldn't adjust). For this price and drink, I thought it was nice for a first try. And I went literally 2 days after they opened. So maybe once it's more stable and settled, I'll try some of their other signature drinks as well. read more

Hands down my new favourite bubble tea shop! Their classic black milk tea and oolong milk tea is the perfect amount of tea flavour, without being too watered down or milky like some other places. When you get their milk teas with their golden pearls, the pearls bring a little bit of sweetness from the syrup and goes really perfectly with the milk tea. I stumbled upon their Instagram and found out about their Back to School promotion this weekend where you get a free thermos with purchase of any drinks. Since I happen to be in Scarborough and saw the promotion before they opened, I decided to make a trip out for a bubble tea to kick off the weekend. Machi Machi have a menu of insta-worthy drinks. I previously went to their downtown location and got the strawberry panna cotta in the cute bottle. I arrived right at opening and there was a lineup outside already. I waited about 40 minutes before I got to the counter to order. While waiting in line, a staff handed out cookies and menus thanking us for waiting which is a really nice touch and acknowledge their customers. My only feedback would be for them to hand out tickets for the bottles as there were people who joined their friends at the line when they approached the front of the line which isn't fair to other people in line. This time I ordered the mochi red bean brulee matcha smoothie. The drink looks amazing! The mochi was warm and a lightly toasted, the matcha flavour was great and goes well with the red bean that's naturally sweet. On the top, there's a layer of cheese foam also! The pricing of the drink is definitely on the higher end, but it's nice to have once in awhile! read more

I love this chain! I've had drinks from multiple locations and they've stayed very consistent. I got the creme brulee milk tea and it's such a treat. I got less sugar and less ice and it's the perfect amount of sweetness to the strong tea flavor. I try not to overmix the drink as I feel as though the creme brulee overpowers the drink. This brand focus on creamy drinks and smooth texture (which the drinks will contain lots of cream and sugar aka fat). I could have it once a while. On my bucket list for a while now has been Machi Machi for its aesthetic beverages and little shop! In all honesty, this was mainly a "one time, do it for the 'gram" visit since their store is a big trek from where I live, topped off with the fact that this one drink costed me $8.10 plus tax. I ordered the FRESH STRAWBERRY LATTE WITH PANNA COTTA. I'm not usually a strawberry drink kind of girl, but this was one of their top 5 and with the price point, I wanted to opt for a unique beverage that I can't get elsewhere. I loved the panna cotta which was perfect in terms of sweetness and unbelievably smooth to drink. The strawberry latte itself was flavorful and you could tell it was made with real strawberries (you'd even occasionally slurp up some seeds)! Despite its fixed sugar and ice level, it was good for my liking. All in all, a well-made and tasty drink, but too high of a price point for another purposeful visit. Service was friendly with many thank yous throughout the experience. The shop was very aesthetic to the eye and decor was extremely cute. From a quick glance, the store looks clean and tidy. I just wished they turned the music volume down as it was extremely hard to hear them call out the drink numbers, especially considering their store layout - you aren't able to clearly see the drinks that are ready from the waiting area due to the way the counter is facing. Definitely a very busy hot spot with people flooring in, one after another! This is interesting to see, especially since this is a plaza loaded with other bubble tea shops and desserts. HUGE FAN OF MACHI MACHI. Their branding is on point. And that's on periodt. Yes it's expensive, and maybe not feasible to go to as a weekly bubble tea spot but you definitely have to go. First off, there is no shortage of bubble tea places in this plaza - but when I went Machi Machi was packed. The interior is super aesthetic - such a nice vibe. There are so many different photo ops here! It's similar to the downtown location, but has it's own unique colour scheme. They had the same menu as the downtown I believe. One unique thing about Machi Machi is their golden tapioca - it tastes pretty much the same but has a nice aesthetic. I had to spring for the panna cotta black milk tea as this is one of their uniquely signature items here - it was great! The black tea had a strong taste, but the panna cotta was nice and sweet making for an amazing drink. It's definitely pricey at around $8 for the drink...but a nice dessert every once in a while. I am a regular at both the Scarborough and North York Machi Machi location. My usual order is milk tea with taro balls. Their taro balls are my absolute favourite out of all the bubble tea chains and I usually come here to satisfy the craving. It was a busy afternoon and the person in front of me ordered 20+ bottled drinks likely for the cute santa hat they've been giving away. After leaving the store with my order I realized that they gave me tapioca instead of taro balls. When I went back to they brought me the correct order within 2 minutes and apologized again and again. I really appreciated the prompt and friendly service. Although the price point is slightly higher then other places, there's no doubt I will be back as I do truly enjoy all of their drinks I've ordered so far. TL;DR - Good milky black tea with questionable toppings Ordered the Mochi Black Milk Tea with Cream Foam (30% sugar, light ice) and added grass jelly. Not sure if I caught them on a particularly busy or bad day, but the drink was An Experience. Drink: delicious! The tea was nice and strong, and the extra milkiness from the cream foam was A++ very nice. Toppings: mixed. Mochi texture was nice and chewy, but the taste was bland and almost rubbery. The grass jelly tasted like regular grass jelly, but the texture wasn't quite firm(?) enough to feel like "normal" grass jelly. Presentation: beautiful! For takeout, they gave me a little bag to hold the mochi skewer with the drink, and even taped on a small note with instructions for reheating the mochi if it got too cold. Based on my experience here, I probably would not order any mochi drinks or grass jelly again in the near future, but I might come back for their teas! read more

MY FAVOURITE PLACE! this bubble tea shop is one of my, if not THE favourite spot for bubble tea. if i'm correct they also have a location in downtown toronto but the line was insanely long when it was first opened that i chickened out. but finally, i tried it at this location. this shop itself, including the downtown location are both very aesthetically pleasing (decoration, shop design, cup design, etc.). so if you are looking for a good pic, i recommend. but besides that, the drinks themselves are worth coming for as well. i have personally tried the oolong milk tea, black milk tea, and fruit tea (can't remember full name haha). my personal favourite is oolong milk tea and then i add pearls, which are very good and nice texture. the staff is very friendly and when it's not busy, your drink is ready is less than 5 minutes. there are no seats inside because of covid but that's fine. the prices are about $1-3 more expensive than other places. highly recommend. read more

I am obsessed with Machi Machi. Like many others, I've first heard of this place mainly because it was Jay Chou's favourite bubble tea place, so of course I had to give it a try. It was laid out close to many other bubble tea shops so it took me a little more time to try it than I might have otherwise. Machi Machi's beverages to me are a dessert drink combination and I am here for it. I thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry latte with panna cotta. While I'm usually a fan of caffeinated drinks, the sweetness of the panna cotta, mixed with the slightly acidic strawberry latte was a match made in heaven! Also comes packaged in the cutest bottle. My other favourite is the creme brulee Matcha Red Bean. I usually get mind at 0% sugar or 30% as I love bitter tea. The bitterness of the matcha is paired perfectly with the sweet creme brulee concoction. I would definitely recommend eating the creme brulee with a spoon for peak creaminess. One other recommendation if you get any milk tea is the taro balls. These taro balls are one of my favourite treats in taiwan, with a jelly like outer coating and a softer taro centre. If you like tapioca balls but want to try something a little different, I implore you to give these a shot! COVID wise, the shop has always been really great about creating spaces to pick up your drinks safely. read more

Was skeptical about their bottled drinks but they are made to order. Had their milk tea and strawberry latte with the panna cotta and they were delicious!! I either got 30 or 50% sugar I can't remember however it turned out perfect. Remember not to shake the bottle or mix the panna cotta its meant to gradually come up as you drink so insert the straw all the way down. Super cute establishment with cute packaging.
