I love Tiger Sugar. I went to the SkyCity location on a Saturday night during the holidays. Only one person was working . There were customers. 3 of us were waiting inline. A group of ppl came and ordered from the machine. Took forever to get drinks out for one customer. The staff took order from the customer infront of me. Staff finished making her drink but didn't give it to them. She kept on taking orders from the machine. I left after waiting for awhile. One staff working on a Saturday evening? C'mon ... Located across the GTA This bubble tea shop is famous for their brown sugar tapioca and is our GO TO spot when we crave some! We love to order from their brown sugar boba series, and our favourite is the brown sugar boba milk with cream foam (cold). Their drinks come with brown sugar drizzle on the sides with the cream foam on top, and it is recommended to shake the drink before drinking it. The milk compliments the brown sugar so well, balancing out the sweetness and making the drink a great combo paired with cream foam. Typically we aren't huge fans of cream foam, but Tiger Sugar is an exception. We wish they had more than one size as we sometimes just want some more . Usually with milk teas we ask for less sugar but regular sugar level from here is preferred by us. We also tried their Golden Black Oolong Tea with brown sugar boba. This drink had an option of regular size or large, and we definitely ordered large! We found the drink to be quite refreshing and a great alternative if you aren't feeling a milky drink. 8/10 read more

I am not a tea drinker so I was a little skeptical when a friend suggested we go to Tiger Sugar. She knows my tastes and assured me that they also have coffee. I left the ordering up to her. First of all, this is a tiny little shop, similar to many in the plaza. They have a small counter in the front window, with a few stools but it's mostly takeout. The decor is simple, modern, and tasteful. She ordered for both of us - tea for her and coffee for me. They looked the same, except for the label affixed to the side. They actually looked very attractive and picture worthy and customers are encouraged to take pictures. I shot a few. This was a tasty drink that I really enjoyed. The tapioca pearls and coffee(?) jelly added another dimension to it. That's not usually my thing but this was good. I would order this again! Tiger sugar is near the entrance of the plaza. When you turn in, it's to your left. Parking is limited even during covid times, so be cautious that you may be circling for parking when the world goes back to normal. It's quite new and the staff are very nice. They are trying to make it the best experience for you and smoothing out business speed bumps as a new bbt shop in town. They specialize in brown sugar drinks... err.. black sugar drinks as they call it. The tapioca balls are soft. I had their cafe latte with black sugar and tapioca. Very flavourful and strong coffee taste/ not so much the sugar. The brown sugar tapioca latte isn't bad either. It's sweet so it will satisfy yourself sugar craving. However it's missing the signature Taiwanese brown sugar flavour that you are looking for. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming here again to try another item on their menu. read more

March 9, 2021 - Definitely worth 5 stars! My friend and I like to walk around the plazas by Midland and Finch. There are many BBT shops, and restaurants to choose from. After our walk we ordered BBT. Normally, I always stick to a few BBT shops that I always go too, But this time we said to try something new. One of my favourite drinks to get is Brown Sugar BBT. I've had brown sugar BBT from a few other places so I know what it should taste like. My friend ordered Japanese Mochi Tea Latte with Cream Mousse ( Oolong ) + no sugar 5/5 I ordered Black Sugar Boba & Pearl Milk w/ Cream Mousse 5/5 My friend said "it was the best BBT she has ever had in a long time!". We both enjoyed the mochi, it was yummy and chewy. Definitely will go back! read more

I tried two drinks and here's the verdict: the drinks are good and satisfies the craving BUT not the best I've had so I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. Brown Sugar Boba Milk - it's good but nothing special. For reference, it's milkier and less sweet than Xing Fu Tang. Black Tea Latte Boba w/ Cream Mousse - I like this better than the brown sugar boba milk. Got this for the black tea so it's not just milk and sugar. It came with hot black tea at the bottom and cream mousse at the top. There was little brown sugar around the inside of the cup as well. Had the opportunity to try Tiger Sugar in Taiwan (pre-covid) so I'll be comparing the 2. Located near Midland and Finch with lots of parking. There are a lot of bubble tea shops in this plaza so making a choice may be hard! They specialize in Black Sugar drinks so if you're not into that flavour, this won't be your place. I ordered the Black Sugar Boba Milk with Cream Mousse cold. It only comes in one size though and no choices to change the sugar level. Tiger Sugar uses a scale to measure everything, even ice! Guess that creates consistency. Drink itself was okay. Flip the drink upside down a few times before drinking! I do prefer the one in Taiwan more as it was stronger in Black Sugar and creamier. Also, the boba (tapioca) here wasn't very chewy. Nothing special since it was similar to the typical ones at Chatime. Overall, great to try but I still prefer Chatime more. read more

The second GTA location of Tiger Sugar opened up last weekend in Scarborough. Tiger Sugar is a bubble tea chain from Taiwan specializing in brown sugar bubble milk drinks. This store is located at the plaza north of Finch and Midland beside Golden Bubbles. Similar to their downtown location, the space is very small. This location even lacks the small amount of barstool seating that the downtown store has. One advantage of the Scarborough store is that it has a washroom. The same feature drinks are offered, specifically brown sugar boba milk drinks or brown sugar pearl milk drinks. The difference between these is that Boba are the larger tapioca and pearls are the smaller tapioca. My friend and I ordered the brown sugar Boba and pearl milk. The drink was prepared quickly and I received it after a few minutes. Staff remind patrons to shake their drink prior to consumption. My drink was fairly sweet. I had asked for my drink to be made without cream mousse due to my lactose sensitivity but only after I left the store and started consuming my beverage that I realized that they had made my drink with the cream mousse. Overall texture was significantly creamier relative to most milk teas. The brown sugar boba milks do not contain tea but can be ordered as a tea latte if a tea based drink is so desired. The tapioca was soft but still chewy, and sweet from the brown sugar syrup. The staff tells me that there is no option to customize sugar or ice levels. Drinks are rather pricey. My regular regular size brown sugar milk cost over $7. They take credit cards, unlike some places that only take cash or debit. I do like that this location is much closer to where I live, joining the overabundant selection of other bubble tea places in the Finch Midland area. read more

I came here on Boxing Day, at night to grab a drink. It was pretty busy... I had to try their classic Brown Sugar drink. The staff explained the boba is the regular tapioca and the pearl is smaller tapioca. I got a mix of both in mine. Unfortunately, for the brown sugar drinks, it seems like you can not modify the sugar level. The drink was way too sweet for me at first. I continued to try to mix it better and it did get better but I wish there was an option for less sugar, as that would've made the drink way more enjoyable for me. The milk tea is so creamy and the foam on top adds to that. The tapioca was soft and chewy - perfect texture. I enjoyed the drink but I don't think it will be a regular thing for me due to the sweetness. Also there is no where to sit inside at this location. read more

Sweet baby Jesus I think I found my new go-to bubble tea place. After a lot of reviews, I decided to check it out. I was a bit skeptical at first but man oh man is my blood in love with this place. It's a small getaway shop in the infamous plaza near Midland and Finch. The server was vey efficient, and actually informed me that you can't adjust sugar levels. I got their famous Black Sugar Milk Tea AND I SWEAR. IT'S BEAUTIFUL. So sweet, but definitely such an appetizing bubble tea. I do recommend only coming here once in a while for a true treat, but I recommend 10/10! read more

Another bubble tea spot to join the rest in this plaza. I saw it on Instagram so I decided to try. We got the black sugar boba milk with cream mousse. Boba series is your regular size tapioca and the pearl is a smaller size. Cream mousse has whipped cream so it lends to a creamier taste. First off it's beautiful. The staff recommended we shake it well before drinking so we did. I would say this drink is sweet, creamy and caramel-y. I didn't taste much tea flavour but I loved it nonetheless. I see it more as a dessert drink than a tea beverage, but it's damn good. The tapioca was also incredible, so softtttt and chewy. On the pricy side as it comes to $7 for the one size which is quite small. You also can't adjust sugar and ice which I found weird. It takes a while to make it. Wow! I'm a huge bubble tea addict but I've never tried bubble tea like this before. I've tried both the brown sugar pearl milk and brown sugar boba milk (both with creme mousse) but the pearl milk has been my favourite. The difference between the pearl milk and the boba milk is just the size of the tapioca (the pearls are the size of sago vs the boba is the typical tapioca size). Usually I'm not a fan of small tapioca/sago but in this drink it's just tastes better. While the brown sugar pearl milk might look like any other brown sugar milk drink -- IT IS DIFFERENT! The drink has a really unique taste, similar to a coffee crisp chocolate. Plus the cream mousse on top is super rich and makes the drink taste SO GOOD. It's definitely more on the expensive side (~$7) and the service is super slow, but it's 100% worth it if you're a true bubble tea drinker lol My only complaint is that you can't adjust the ice or sugar level, and they tend to be pretty heavy on the ice... but regardless I'll still be coming back again ASAP! read more

I left the Bay Area before I could try Tiger Sugar out there so I was obviously ecstatic to see that there was one in Toronto! They have online ordering available which is really convenient. All the different options for their respective teas are listed there. There are some that can't be adjusted for levels of sugar, for example, so don't be surprised if you see that. After I placed the order, I was told it would take 20 minutes for it to be ready. I ordered the Black Sugar Boba Milk with no alterations. You couldn't adjust the sweetness level for this one anyways. It's $6.50 for a size that is usually considered a regular at other places which might be a tad bit higher than other places. It was worth it completely. It actually had to survive a 20-ish minute drive home before I could enjoy it. It was realllly good. Smooth, sweet, and with the the perfect amount of bubbles to liquid. The boba was also a great texture and had a really nice light taste of honey/brown sugar. This place is definitely a new favourite for me. read more

I think texture is very important when it comes to Bubble Tea (did you know on the west coast everyone calls it Boba? But here it is Bubble tea?). I don't want it to be too chewy, but not too soft. The tea has to have the right flavour. This place was much better than the other place I tried earlier (i had to get something to wash the bad taste out of my mouth). This plaza is weird there are like 20 Bubble Tea places here. This place is the better of the two places I have tried so far. Maybe I need to try testing other places? I am not sure though I tried another place and it was bad. Regardless, if you are you and are chosing one place - this place is a safe bet. (Though I would be happy if one of the places had Lavender, I can't seem to find Lavender Milk Boba in Toronto) read more

Tiger sugar is good but it is pricey. I tried one of the new drinks in the tofu series and it was delicious. Tasted like a tofu fah (sweet tofu Chinese dessert) bubble tea which was amazing. I love the baby tapioca. Nice treat, but not something I'd pay for on the regular. read more

Tiger Sugar is one of my favorite bubble tea shops for decadent and creamy boba! The tapioca pearls are soft and chewy and the tea flavour is perfect! Not too weak, and not too bitter. My favourite drink from them is definitely their Brown Sugar Coffee Jelly with milk. I like jelly instead of tapioca sometimes because it can last longer in the fridge before it needs to be indulged. This bubble tea chain is known for its cream mousse so if you visit, be sure to give that a try with your drink! Service is pretty average that this location. It's fast, efficient and you get your drink fairly quickly. The location is quite small, which is ok right now in covid season, but it wouldn't be a spot that you can buy your bubble tea and then hang out with a group of friends after. Overall, I would definitely recommend this bubble tea shop if you are in the area. As many have mentioned before, there are way too many bubble tea places in the plaza for it to be legal BUT, this plaza has a shop for all of your bubble tea-loving friends and a park at the back where you can definitely go & continue your social distance meet up! read more

So far my favourite brown sugar milk bubble tea place! My friend had hyped this as her all time favourite bubble tea place so I gave it a try. This location is super small and the line was quite long (I went around 5:30pm). I ordered the brown sugar milk boba with cream mousse. To be honest I was a little confused by the menu and just ordered the first thing that made sense to me lol. Turns out they refer to their regular sized tapioca as 'Boba' and the mini tapioca as 'Pearls'. I like the pearls as it doesn't fill you up as much. The drink was really really good, it was the perfect level of sweetness and so smooth! For this series, the sugar and ice level is fixed. I get it for the sugar but I feel that they could at least let us get less ice as the drink gets diluted if you don't drink fast enough. They recommend that you shake 15 times to get the optimal taste, I'm afraid to do otherwise in fear of ruining it but maybe one day I'll rebel On a side note, I tried the brown sugar milk tea on another visit thinking it would be epic but it wasn't that good. The drink also had a lot of weird residue afterwards. I think I'll just stick to the milk. read more

This is a little hard to say because it depends on your preference in bubble tea. Personally, i have a sweet tooth and i typically get 80% sugar so it was pretty good to me. However, to some of my friends it was overly sweet to the point of not being enjoyable. Another thing i want to comment on is that the cashier always tries to convince you to get the best selling drink and it creates a lot of pressure on you instead of you deciding what you like. Overall, I think this place is worth a TRY but it doesnt stand out to me as something I wanna come back to. read more

The fresh milk really compliments the rich, sweet brown sugar pearls. You can't customize the sugar and ice levels if you get the milk teas, so it was a little too sweet for my liking, though I guess if you order brown sugar tapioca drinks you might expect that. I've tried a lot of bubble tea places but this one falls somewhere in the middle of the list. It's an above average place with a nice look and feel to it. I asked for a hot green tea latte and they gave me a slightly cold one. They were nice enough to remake me another and it was better. The other drink we got was their most popular basic bubble drink which is brown sugar boba mil with cream mousse. My friend absolutely loves this drink. It's good but slightly too sugary for me. All in all, I will probably come back to this place. Can recommend to anybody who wants to try a different bbt place. read more

Very good service. Came for the first time with a friend and the manager kindly explained the drinks to us. I forgot to ask about controlling the sugar levels since it wasnt stated on the menu, but the manager asked us afterwards if we wanted half sugar since he recommends that level. He even offered to take a picture of us with the drinks! Aside from the service, the bbt was really good and the tapioca was at a perfect texture. Went on a bubble tea run to compare with Xing Fu Tang and Da Alley, and I'd have to say....Tiger sugar came out on top for their brown sugar milk tea boba/pearl with creme! Their tapioca was quite soft, chewy, and tasty! Their Creme was rich and milky! Both a great combination! Their staff were friendly, but a little slow with my order. Although worth the wait. first time having tiger sugar a few weeks back was at this location! small small take-out bubble tea spot, I don't remember much or any seating so not a place you plan on coming to, to hang out for a few hours etc. Given the small space this place can get rammed pretty quickly (like 15 people inside quickly), it wasn't too busy maybe a handful of people waiting for their drinks when I went. The actual bbt: it lives up to the hype and brand. It was so goood I wish I got another one LOL. The tapioca which is something I usually do not like or opt for, was super tasty and soft. Obviously very fresh as they probably go through batches through out the day. Great place for Brown sugar drink! We ordered 17 regular size brown sugar pearl with mouse and surprisingly they were able to pump this drink so quickly! The blend of mini and regular pearl was delicious and fresh. You can feel how warm they are when you receive your drink. The service was amazing!
