Small but very aesthetic store. I appreciated the attention to detail the staff had for every drink they made. It's the first time I've seen a tea espresso machine and seeing bubble tea made with precise measuring scales. I ordered the bubble volcano, and only realized afterwards it didn't have any tea in it! Regardless it was delicious with the perfect texture of tapioca and the right level of sweetness. I will definitely try the tea options next time.

Bbt 5/5 Chicha san chen is now opened at midland and finch plaza! So happy since previously i can only get them at Markville or in DT TRT, and now its so much closer! Happy! Super cute seatings and decor!

Chicha San Chen opened a new location in Scarborough! Located in Midland and Finch plaza where there are already seems like an endless supply of bubble tea shops. Having heard great things about their tea and the awards it received internationally, I had to give it a try while in the area. Given it was grand opening weekend it was expected to be a long wait. It took about 50 minutes till my order was ready. I think it was so busy that they forgot to call my order number. Anyway, I got the dong ding oolong tea with grass jelly, with less sugar and ice. The oolong tea was strong and not overpowered by the milk or sugar which tends to be the case at other shops. Also, tried a sip of the bubble volcano and taro queen drinks, which were both delicious! The boba was perfectly soft and chewy. I was able to try the tea at half price because if the grand opening special. At regular price the drink is a bit steep but you are paying for top tier quality bubble tea. If you are going to splurge on a treat then this would be the place to go (maybe wait to try it after the long lines die down).

Just launched their soft opening~ Every drink purchase today came with a free drink coupon to be used next month! I got the Peach Oolong tea no ice and no sugar. Sweetness from the peach jam and peach flesh is pefect, no need for extra sugar! Also got the Taro King. I had this one many times from other locations around the city and this time around the taro paste was barely there... Disappointing... This is the first day of opening so I understand the lack of training. Looking forward to future visits!

Small bubbletea shop that also serves pastries and Filipino meals…read more Their standout offering, of course, is the bubbletea. The tea is loose-leaf, so is elevated from the typical bubbletea. But it's the tapioca that really makes the drink shine with how fresh and bouncy they are. For a tea shop, this place also has really good food. Tried the scones and they were super buttery, very flavourful, and were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like all great scones. We also got some Filipino meals - the lechon kawali and lumpia super crispy, the bangsilog had a good portion size for the price, and the halo-halo was refreshing. Place is mainly a takeout spot, but there are a couple of small tables to sit 4. Service is friendly. Tea offerings are extensive. Worth a drop-by.

Walking in, there's a great amount of cakes, cookies, and drinks. Cookies: The matcha white chocolate cookie was freshly made. Quite soft and delicious. Reasonably sized cookie. Yema cake: It was my first time having the Yema cake so I was looking forward to try it. I got the ube flavour and a soft chiffon cake texture. It wasn't too sweet and was perfect for a nice small dessert. The staff were friendly and the service was good. It's too bad there's limited seating as it would be great to dine-in. I definitely want to come back to try out their drinks!
