While shopping at Markville Mall, we decided to stop by Chicha San Chen for tea. I ordered the oolong tea with coconut jelly. This was refreshing indeed and definitely high quality tea, but very pricey in my opinion. It was a bit of a wait for the drink as well since they always seem to be so busy at this shop. Anyway, it's a nice treat to have but not a tea I would get very excited about.

Very solid milk tea. The ordering process was easy and the overall aesthetics was appealing too. Wouldn't pay for this back home, but it's hard to pass up here with the currency exchange. I ordered the dong ding oolong + cream + konjac. Definitely one of the better milk tea I have had lately. Can't wait to come back and try their other options!

Came here after hearing lots of good things about the quality and confirm it is really good and strong! The service was also really friendly and the baristas are really helpful when you ask for recommendations. One major highlight is definitely the quality of the tapioca - super soft and chewy and definitely tastes freshly made. My only slight con was there is only one size so if you like large sizes you may be out of luck!

This was now my 2nd time here and I would have to say I have had better. In general it is not bad, however I thought it could have been better. The boba was a bit on the harder side. The peach fruit tea drink I had was much better. When I arrived the line was a bit longer and takes time to get to order. Being in a mall it can get more crowded. Overall the taste was good but not the hype.

Taro Queen

I love the Taro Queen drink here! The taro balls are perfect and squishy, taro paste is not too sweet, and the tea they use is fragrant :) My only complaint is that the line can get pretty busy here so be prepared to wait a bit! There's also not too much seating available in the shop so you may have to walk around to enjoy your drink instead

This Chicha San Chen location is inside the CF Markville mall on the second level. Fortunately, it was not very busy when I stopped by earlier today in the afternoon. I also didn't wait too long for my drink, either. DONG-DING OOLONG TEA + FRESH MILK + BUBBLES - 7.95 I got this with 30% sugar and no ice. The milk tea was incredibly watery and I didn't like the after taste of the sugar. The bubbles were the perfect texture and sweetness, but even that could not save the horribly watery mess. I typically enjoy their Dong-Ding Oolong tea, so I'm not sure what happened today. My cousins got the LEMON WONDERLAND (an elevated lemon honey tea) and some seasonal drink, CREAMY MANGO TART (tasted like an orange creamsicle and probably the best drink out of the three).

Pretty good tea. You can definitely smell that it's tea and not powders. They brew it fresh. Hype has kinda died down so there isn't as big of lines (but definitely depends on time of day). Taste is pretty good. On the pricier side (but everything is these days tbh). Will be back.

Regular milk tea, peach oolong, milk tea with taro

Not worth the wait but definitely do give it a try if it is your first time trying. They brew the tea fresh/ on the spot to make your drinks, which I assume causes the long wait time. Located on the second floor oh Markville mall next to the Ardene, each drink is about $10, kind of on the pricey end. We tried their regular milk tea, peach oolong and milk tea with taro. I say out of the 3 the taro one was the best, the tea and taro was very fragrant and tasty compared to the other 2 which wasn't that special. Their tapioca is also very soft and chewy better than most bubble tea places.

Keeping the rating at 4 stars because of price like I mentioned in my first review. My gf and I came back to try some of the other teas. It's the start of summer so I opted for the peach dong-ding oolong tea off their summer series menu. My gf got herself a mango green tea w/ grass jelly. The tea is still stellar, like I said in my previous review. My peach tea actually had chunks of fresh peach floating around in it which was awesome. I just wish they served large sizes at the price their charging, that's all.

I've been eager to try this Michelin rated bubble tea for a while . The bubble tea is good specifically the high mountain green tea with cream and taro balls How it works - you pick a tea base green or back tea and there's different types of tea for each . Following that .. you pick a flavour .. for milk tea .. it's usually the creamy flavours that are recommended like cream or milk. Lastly , you pick a topping. Came here twice . First time ordered high mountain green tea with cream and taro balls . This was really good . Love the tea flavour and the taro balls are so chewy and tasty. Second time we tried the same combination but with Osmanthus oolong tea. It wasn't as great ... just ok Price wise is pretty steep for a drink . Around $10 . In general I'd recommend Chica San Chen as a nice treat to oneself . Too expensive to drink on a daily ya

The creamy mango tart drink was delicious and comes with fixed iced and you can choose sugar preference. I went with the recommended and it was not too sweet. The rich cream foam added a nice texture to the drink without adding any extra sweetness as well. Numbering announcement system for each order is very efficient. They were busy but I didn't have to wait very long. I only took one star off because the price is a bit steep but I suppose it's justified for being a Michelin award winning chain.

Now that the hype has died down and no line up is needed, I finally tried Chicha San Chen at Markville Mall. Again, there wasn't really a line as I was the second person to order. Service was friendly as we were greeted upon walking up to the cash register. The cashier was also helpful, when we said it was our first time trying this spot so we weren't too sure about the sweetness level. Her recommendation for 30% was perfect. I ordered their classic BUBBLE MILK TEA (30% sugar and less ice) described as being black tea + cream + bubble. It was neat to watch their machine, pull milk tea the way a machine pulls espresso. Though the price is steep at $7.95 for their one size, I thoroughly enjoyed how creamy the beverage was, as well as the chew from their soft and sweetened tapioca. Flavor was also quite good, leaning slightly more towards the tea-side. They use a numbering system which makes picking up your drinks easy and efficient. This definitely won't be a go-to spot due to the prices but it makes for a nice, occasional treat.

Decided to give this boba shop a try since we were told they have a Michelin star. We tried the Taro Milk Tea and Classic Bubble Milk Tea. The flavor was pretty solid for both, but we also thought that it was overpriced and a little basic for what it was. The boba was super soft though, so it definitely added to the experience. we are from California area and we were told that they also have another location in San Gabriel, which is cool to know that there's one nearby our hometown. Service was great and the staff was very friendly and interactive with us and helped us figure out what was good from the menu. Luckily when we stopped by, it wasn't busy at all so there was no line or no wait but they did have a section that showed where the line can start to form when it did get busy so it's safe to assume that it probably gets pretty busy at certain times. Ambiance is clean and very aesthetic. It's a small shop so there's very limited seating but also located within the mall so you can easily order and take it around with you as you walk around the mall.

I had a bit of time to kill before my order was ready. I was parked fairly close to this Cha Miao on a rainy evening. Was this bubble tea place always here? I had never noticed it until this evening. I walked over. I noticed that it has daily specials for $4.99. On Tuesdays, the special is the lychee fruit tea with jelly. Yay! I walked in and was greeted by a nice man. I went ahead and ordered it. I wanted it with no sugar. He let me know that 50% sugar was the minimum. Bummer. I went with this minimum and less ice. It didn't take long for my drink to be ready. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I thanked him for my drink. I headed to my car to put it in my cupholder. I then headed to the restaurant to pick up my order and returned to my car. I then drove home, sipping on my tea. This lychee fruit tea was refreshing and yummy. It wasn't as sugary as I thought this drink would be at 50%. I loved the jelly and lychee bits in this drink. Steps away from Roji was Sun Tea. I looked at the daily special for Thursday. It was a peach oolong tea. Yes, please! I walked into the store. There were three teenagers having a fun time hanging out. It was nice. The woman behind the counter was extremely nice and cheerful. I ordered the peach oolong tea (no sugar and less ice) with jelly. I also went with a large. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and my transaction was done. I then waited patiently for my drink. She was super efficient making my drink. She asked if I wanted a bag. A Yelp experience drew my attention to this business. The owner there recognized me from her first location, Hana's Tea, in Richmond Hill. It didn't cross my mind that Hana's Tea and Hana's Roulettea are owned by this woman until she explicitly made the connection for me. Well, I know now! It was nice that she recognized me. I was a regular customer getting macarons and a tea on Tuesdays in Richmond Hill for weeks last year. I brought the former into the office the following day. I loved the ripe peach taste. It hit the spot on a 34-degree Celsius day. I have been a fan of Hana's macarons since the beginning. The yuzu had a nice citrusy flavour. The macaron shells were crispy and chewy where they should be. It was nice to enjoy one again. The menus are similar at both locations. The chicken gyoza are on the menu. They are awesome! There were tables to sit down, and enjoy your food and drink, similar to the other location. This place feels more spacious and relaxed. I am thrilled that this location exists. Last Tuesday, I returned to get six macarons: - Salted caramel - Royal milk tea - Mango I brought them to work to share. They were a hit. Staff were friendly the two times that I have dropped by.
