Comebuy will be making me come by for their bubble tea again, and here's why. They offer a variety of Taiwanese falvoured drink with a wide selection of tea leaves to choose from. For me, the drink itself is about 4/5 (barley milk tea), but my overall experience is what brings this up to a 5. When I walked in, I was greeted with the staff there who were very friendly. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I had stepped aside to look at the menu. They noticed and didn't pressure me in taking my order, but instead asked if I had any questions and had let me smell the tea leaves. For a more upscale bubble tea store, I appreciated that very much. I ended up getting the barley milk tea, and the flavour did not disappoint. The barley taste definitely came through, and it wasn't too sweet. Note: for sweetness level, get one lower than what you normally get. Trust me :) Overall I would come back when I'm in the area and craving for bubble tea to try other drinks. After we parked and we were on the way to get dinner, we saw this shop in passing and decided we would go in to take a look after dinner. They follow necessary safety COVID precautions and has a very clean and beautiful interior. Their service was also very friendly and has been in previous orders. I was happy to peruse and settle upon the lychee delight. My cousins went with their two house milk teas. Service was average with about a 10 min wait as it got really busy as we arrived. I have parked my car in front of Comebuy each time and never dropped in. I found this bubble tea place on Ritual and I am hooked. I believe that this Comebuy is the only location in the GTA. It's in the heart of downtown Markham (it is still odd to me that Markham has a downtown area now, but it works). All three times, I have ordered through the Ritual app. The first time, I got the iced peach oolong tea. It automatically comes with coconut jelly. Sign me up! It has everything that I love. I typically get my drinks with no sugar and a bit of ice. Even when I ask for no sugar at most places, I can still taste sugar. At Comebuy, when you specify no sugar, this place takes your request seriously. I tasted the natural peach oolong tea without the sugar. So good and refreshing! The coconut jelly isn't overly sweet, either. It is my jam. The last two times, I have ordered the iced chocolate latte. It has dairy, but not a whole lot. I also get it with no sugar and a bit of ice. I love it so much. It's chocolaty without a ton of sugar. Drinks are prepared fast here. As soon as I order on the Ritual app, it's ready for pickup in three minutes. It's almost as if I should park my car steps away from the store, place the order on my app, and walk in. I came to this place after reading the Great Yelp reviews. The ambiance is nice but they not longer have dine in seating. The girl was nice enough to ask if we had any questions and allow us to smell the different kinds of tea. I wanted to get the original milk tea as it is one of the top 10 most popular drinks and I felt like it was a little lacklustre? My impression from the reviews is that the tea would be very tea forward but for me the aroma was just not there. My boyfriend had the Neptune milk tea and that was much bolder and more interesting with very floral notes. Its basically black tea with cream on the top. You can choose jasmine green tea version if you prefer green tea. The drink comes with a strong tea base flavour. If you're looking for a place that focuses on the flavours of tea, Comebuy is a good option. I tend to prefer their humble drinks, aka not the milky types, but more so the more traditional brewed teas, particularly their osmanthus oolong. The owner here is very dedicated to extracting the most out of the tea leaves, and he sources them from taiwan. Staff are friendly, and theyre very patient with whatever you would like to customize your drinks to. The oolong tea is strong in flavour, but not overpowering as it can be when the tea is steeped too far at boiling temperatures. They also have rose drinks, which are very fragrant and floral, which may not be ideal to some, but if you do enjoy rose, the delicate flavours do shine through. Their toppings are also a nice addition. Tapioca is generally good chewiness and gives a good portion for their drinks. Not overly sweet either but just accentuates the drink and enhances it slightly. Their matcha red bean is decent, but nothing spectacular. Same with their other milk teas. I remember Comebuy from way back when they had a location in that lameoid Queen St West food court at Queen and John! Used to frequent it quite a bit, but I'm glad to say it's actually better than it was back then. Progress is great, right? This place is in one of those new condos popping up all over Markham. It's actually near Downtown Markham, so you can get a tea here and catch a movie afterwards; it's really convenient. There's a parking lot in the back that Google Maps will point you to, it's the same as the one for residents but there's a small area for visitors. Back in the olden times they had lots of standard bubble milk teas and juices, but nowadays they got fresh brewed tea, and cheese foam teas, and weird fancy teas... I think if I had to choose a favourite it'd be the roasted oolong with milk foam, or maybe the Neptune green tea with a bunch of toppings in it. It's really refreshing. The teas here have a pronounced tea flavour, and they aren't too sweet, which is just how I like it. They got crystal boba and agar jelly too, if you're a fan of those. This seems like mostly a takeout joint for the building's residents, nonetheless the service is top notch. There used to be this cute girl there that would explain everything happily, but lately there's this really chipper guy that's always running to the door excitedly whenever a customer shows up to greet them. Reason for Visit: Got the Ritual app and got $10 credit to spend. Decided to give this place a try instead of Chatime. Menu: Didn't pay much attention but I got their standard pearl milk tea with 30% sugar. To my surprise, this place is legit. Thank goodness I came here instead of Chatime. Admittedly, prices are a bit higher than Chatime by ~$1 extra. However, their milk tea tastes smoother and richer. The tapioca was chewy and it even came with aloe which was interesting. Overall, I was quite satisfied and pleased with the bubble tea. Service: The cashier was super friendly and nice. I would say far better customer service than the usual Chatime. I stumbled into this tea shop during a stroll through downtown Markham (it's by the TD Bank). This place has a lot of natural light and about five tables so could be good for studying/working or chilling with friends. I appreciate the employees taking the time to walk me through pretty much the full menu since I've never been there before. They have various samples of tea leaves out as well so you can smell them to get a better sense of what you do/don't like. I ordered the peach oolong tea. The aroma of the tea was excellent (like wayyy stronger than Chatime tea flavour) and the tapioca was cooked perfectly. I was only disappointed that I was charged an extra $0.50 to swap coconut jelly (that came with the drink) for tapioca (the only topping I like in my bubble tea). Bubble tea chains continue to thrive and grow, and Comebuy is a recent newcomer tucked away in "downtown Markham" that I truly believe has the potential to compete with the veteran chains. Despite the questionable franchise name and lack of real parking (just street side stalling), I was genuinely surprised by how much I liked this place. From the second you walk into the trendy renovated space, you're greeted with smiles from the staff who happily showcase their different teas to you. They don't rush you, they don't give you cut-eye for taking your time.. they're just genuinely nice! The menu offerings are varied and the tea quality is exceptional. As a basic first order, I went with the Comebuy Original Milk Tea and I was delighted by both the flavour of the ceylon milk tea as well as the textural complexity of the mixed tapioca/crystal boba. Now fair enough, I've had crystal boba before at both Chatime Innovation Bar and Prestotea so I reckon this isn't the first franchise to provide this offering but I was really happy that they did have it here. I've also tried the Taiwanese Roasted Oolong Tea which was another thumbs up drink that I'd gladly order again. P.S. I have finally "comebuy" this place after passing by it so many time during my drives to Poke Guys, but never bothered to go in until now. It's a small ish bbt cafe tucked away in the plaza across the theatre. The interior looks quite nice with a big black board that shows you how to order the bbt (picking sugar/ice level.toppings etc). I didn't know the hype around the neptune tea so I just got myself a regular matcha tea latte with their tapioca and crystal jelly combo and the bf got a HK style tea with tapioca. The drinks was nothing to write home about although I have missed the taste of good HK style milk tea, but I do have a new found love their crystal jelly for that interesting texture. Overall, it's an ok bbt place. It's interesting that they have a whole bunch of tea options to choose from and you can smell them too to choose what you like. I also saw an option for basil seeds from the pictures here on yelp. It looks interesting and I may try it out next time I go again. The only thing I wish they would change is their points system. All bbt places now have some kind of points system with a card on your phone or just punching in your phone number, but they have it stamped on a physical card that's one stamp per order (no matter how many drinks you order). Staff are always dressed properly, polite, and well informed with the drink types in case there is anything you are unfamiliar with.
