Plexiglass counter with sanitizer available

Location/Service This place is in a small plaza by Kennedy and 16th. It's in a corner lot by the residential area. There's limited parking along the plaza strip - but I think you can also park along the residential street if it's full. Pretty big sign so you can't miss it. Inside is very bright and spacious. No seating available at this moment. I like their background wallpaper - which has a science/chemistry feeling. Proper social distancing and measurements are set (plexiglass, sanitizers). Staff were friendly and can speak multiple languages. It's their soft opening so bear that orders may take a little longer. Drinks Their menu is similar to other competitors - which include a Fruit Tea, Brew Tea, Milk Tea, Brown Sugar and Cheese Creme series. Prices are similar too - and basically it has the same selection of toppings, ice and sugar level. I ordered the Winter Melon Ade with Basil Seed - to be a little healthy. It's a fixed large size, and I did it with less sugar. I really liked this drink. It has a huge lime in it, which brings out some sourness while the winter melon sweetness also levels it off. The basil seeds were plentiful, soft and easy to swallow. I do feel their quality is pretty high too - would be interested to come back and try their signature drinks to know a bit more about the brand. Glad to see there's more BBT options in the neighbourhood - and so convenient to a lot of residential in the area!

Milk tea w panna cotta

Ordered this via Fantuan delivery as they had really good promotions for this bbt store. I got the brown sugar with salty cream and a no sugar milk tea with panna cotta. The brown sugar drink is fixed sugar so if you do not like sweet drinks do not recommend. This tasted good and the cream was delicious - the boba was a but mushy for me but overall good. The milk tea panna cotta i saved for the next day and it was good however as i was drinking it i found a piece of paper in it... it looked like a piece of the order stickers that are placed on each cup. I was thrown off by that unfortunately

YGO Lab is a bubble tea chain from Taiwan which recently opened up their second location in Canada in Markham. The shop is located north of Kennedy and 16th Avenue, in the shops at Berczy Square. The shop is small with physically distanced seating for up to 3 pairs of seats. The minimal aesthetic is bright and cheerful with some decor reminiscent of the periodic table of the elements (which the science geek in me appreciated). Like many other bubble tea places, YGO offers brewed tea, milk tea, tea lattes, fizzy fruit teas, brown sugar milk teas, slushes, and fruit based teas. They have fresh milk and oat milk as milk options. They offer a variety of unique toppings in addition to standard tapioca, fruity coconut jelly, cheese creme, and grass jelly. These include peach resin (apparently a chewy fruity topping; extra $2!), golden tapioca (which is supposed to be chewier than standard tapioca; $0.50), and aiyu jelly. Drinks range from $5.50 for hot or brewed teas, to $6.00-$6.50 for most milk teas, fruit teas, and cheese creme drinks. The most expensive drinks include a peach resin green or black tea ($8.00), brown sugar peach resin milk with torched cheese foam ($8.00), and hot brown sugar longan and red dates or ginger drinks with peach resin ($7.75). The staff were friendly and patiently answered any questions I had regarding the products and toppings, as well as staff recommendations for drinks. While tempted to order something colourful or fruity, I saw on Instagram that they had a special on large cold oolong milk tea or medium sized hot oolong milk tea for $4.99. This is what I ordered, with 50% sugar, no ice, and grass jelly (since they were out of golden jelly at the time of my visit). The drink was slightly watery even though it didn't have ice in it, but had a noticeable amount of oolong tea flavour. I will return to try some of their fruit based teas. I'm also curious to see what this peach resin is about and figure out why it's a $2 topping.

First time visiting this location becuase I saw people posted about this place on IG. I ordered Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk and Mountain Green Tea + Cheese Creme. Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk (3.5/5) I like their brown sugar tapioca and it was chewy. Nothing speical about their milk and this is why I think it was above average. Mountain Green Tea + Cheese Creme (2/5) Not sure what went wrong, but this drink tasted werid with a bit of sour taste. Their Cheese Creme was not thick enough and bland. The tea falvor was not strong so the entire drink was below my expectation.

We visited YGO Lab's Toronto store last year and was so surprised to stumble upon their shop in Markham at the corner of 16th & Kennedy. They just had their soft opening a few weeks ago. We loved YGO's Oreo Milk Tea + Cheese Creme from the Toronto store and haven't forgotten about it since so we were very excited to see they have opened a Markham location. Drinks/Price: Prices are pretty reasonable and comparable to new bubble tea chains in Markham. Tip: on Sundays, there's free toppings! We also loved the packaging of the drinks and how it alternated from black/white covers. Oreo Milk Tea + Cheese Creme: $6.50 (with tapioca) If you're a fan of Oreos, you'll love this. The cheese foam has Oreos bits sprinkled on top and is super delicious and one of favourite things about this drink. Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk: $5.75 A tad bit on the sweeter side so if you're a fan of sweet drinks, we would recommend this. Thai Milk Tea + Panna Cotta: $6.75 The Thai milk tea tastes a bit different than others we've tried but it was really good and not too sweet. Panna cotta was a great addition to the drink (similar to pudding toppings). Will be ordering again! Store: It is located at Berczy Square, nearby Pierre Elliot Trudeau High School. The store is super clean, bright, and we love the minimalistic interior (makes for great pictures). Lots of parking in the plaza and very convenient location. Experience: Staff were extremely friendly and made conversation with us along with recommending drinks based on our preferences and describing in detail the flavours of the drinks. They also speak multiple languages like English, Cantonese and Mandarin. We went around 8pm on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet which gave us plenty of time to take some nice pictures of the drinks before people started coming into the shop. The staff recommended we try their limited Thai Milk Tea + Panna Cotta since we are milk tea fans so we came back the next day to get it! They were right, we did love it. Will definitely be visiting again to try their other flavours!

I haven't had a chance to explore this new mini plaza that opened near my house, so I was happy when my friend invited me to try out their new drinks during a promo session in March (Please check out her review on instagram @ateitforinsta!). The interior of this place was pretty aesthetic, great for Instagram pics like a wall with a "periodic table of elements" and big light plastic light boxes to put your drinks on. Staff were very patient in explaining the drinks for us. The promo was for their newly launched "starry Night Ade" which features soda, lemon juice, pineapple, and butterfly pea tea, a perfect refreshing drink as the weather gets warmer. My friend said it was really good and she'd buy again. I also got lemon yakult slush which was super refreshing as well! Not sure if this place is a favourite as of yet and the prices are on the higher side which I would deem this place as an occasional visit. Must try though!

Trying out the newly launced pretty, fizzy, refreshing drink called "Starry Night Ade" on March 22nd Sweet pineapple and tangy lemon juice mix with pineapple chunks in the bottom play nicely together in this butterfly pea tea carbonated drink. This magical drink turns from blue to purple when you mix it, beautiful I also tried the Oreo Milk + Cheese Creme - Their cheese creme is by far the smoothest! The combination of creamy, sweet and salty cream cheese, topped with finely chopped Oreo cookies. I love this!! They have a variety of menu from milk tea, brown sugar, fruit tea, fruit slush, you named it! The place itself is very instagrammable, with the science lab vibe decorated periodic table of fruits that ensure you to get the best drink chemistry. Take a bunch of pictures here hehe. DEFINITELY A MUST VISIT BBT PLACE!! Follow @astravel_eats for more cute boba spots

So obsessed with bubble tea lately, especially during the warm weather. We got a slush and fruit tea. Both were so refreshing and not overly sweet, just like how we like it! Definitely coming back, they have a lot of unique flavours! One nice thing about this place is that there's a little sitting area in front of it which is great to hang around and take a lot of pictures!

Dec 2021 Party Packages

All my money has been going to this place! All the money that would've otherwise been spent at Coco Fresh, that is lol... Once you've had better quality bubble tea, there's no going back. As much as I love this little place, there are hits and misses. The first drink I had here was the brown sugar boba milk with torched cheese foam. I know brown sugar drinks are on the sweeter side, but theirs somehow tasted unbearably sweet, maybe because of the torched cheese foam? The second drink I tried was the fruit tea slush with cheese creme. Now this drink was good! The tea slush was fragrant and the cheese creme was like a light cheese cake - yum! The cheese creme really compliments the fruit tea slush. I don't recommend getting jelly or tapioca with it though because the slush freezes it up. That and the fruit tea isn't as good as the fruit tea slush (a bit too strong), but that's just my personal opinion. If you're into Thai milk tea, theirs is pretty legit, but i wouldn't get their tea of the week as it tastes pretty watered down. Nowadays, i gravitate towards their strawberry four season tea with aiyu jelly or pineapple mountain green tea with aiyu jelly. It doesn't escape me that some of their drinks are watered down or that i agree with some reviews that complained about them not putting enough tapioca into their drinks. Right now, they have party packages for the holidays, maybe in anticipation of less foot traffic with the colder temperatures and covid 4th wave. By the way, this location has a slightly different menu than the Harbord location (which I've never been to). Eg. Their current Christmas drink features the golden apple, while the Harbord location Christmas drink is eggnog based. This location has also had pumpkin patch creme for Halloween and salted egg yolk pineapple creme for Mid-Autumn (which was surprisingly delicious) while the Harbord location had matcha panna cotta. So if you want a specific drink, you might want to check their instagram first.

I'm a total sucker for things that come in pretty packaging but I've had my fair share of misses when it comes to pretty packaging but the food/drink doesn't taste good. @ygolab.markham doesn't disappoint with their new fruit slush series and adorable bottles with cute home themed imagery. The fruit slush series has 3 flavors: the grapefruit slush, kiwi +passionfuit and the grape slush. The kiwi passionfuit called out my name and was super refreshing and the combination of kiwi and passionfruit was not a usual combo but blended perfectly. The drink was not too sweet and had a somewhat of a slight spicy element to it which I kinda liked after I continued to drink it. The only slight complaint I have it the size of the drink which is limited to the size of the bottle and I wish I could have more as I enjoyed it so much.

Left to Right; Supreme fruit tea, milk tea pan-cotta, Starry night, Thai tea pan-cotta
Kris C.

Super cute place, with tasty tea. The only issues where the starry night drink you can't change the sugar or ice levels, and there where too many drink options!!! The pan-cotta was smooth and creamy, and the teas all packed a punch. Can't wait to head back and try a new flavour

I ordered one of their recommended teas, the Oolong Ding Dong Tea latte and I really enjoyed it. The tea was strong and was balanced so well by the fresh milk. The only downside for me is it only comes in one size! The pricing is a little on the more expensive side since it does only come in the small size as well so I can't feel justified getting Chicha San Chen too often. I was craving my usual from Bourbon St. Grill and hit the food court. While heading downstairs after walking through mall entrance 3, I saw this Chicha San Chen store. I flagged it for a visit. After having a satisfying, casual meal at the food court, I returned to the second floor and walked over here to check out the drinks. It was almost as if this store knew that I like fruit and sparkling drinks. I saw a sign that said I could get two sparkling fruit drinks for $10. Three words: Sign me up! I got Kinson at the ordering area. He was great stepping me through everything. I let him know that this promotion interested me. He asked if I wanted one of each fruit flavour. Yes! My order consisted of the following: - Sparkling orange - Sparkling peach Each drink contains fruit, sparkling water, and konjac. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and I was done. He let me know that it wouldn't take long for my drinks to be made. The wait time wasn't much. The seating area had just cleared, so I could take photos of the branded throw pillows, various decorated bear figures holding tea cups in slings, and a wall celebrating a hundred years of tea love. It's my kind of tea joint. I stood next to looseleaf teas in mini containers. I smelled a number of them as I waited. They were so fragrant that I didn't want to leave! I love smelling these teas: - Cassia black - Dong ding oolong - Green - Black - Osmanthus oolong - High mountain pouchong My drinks came in one size. It seemed to be the case for all drinks on the menu. I like that you can customize your drink. There's a menu that steps you through it, from the type of tea that you want brewed, to the flavours and toppings that you want in it. If you find this method to be too complicated, it does have popular teas that are already configured, so you don't have to. I liked that I didn't have to fuss with my order. It was exactly what I wanted. My receipt had a number on it. Their system has an automated voice that calls out your order number. it was a nice change of pace. I could clearly hear my order number called out. I'm sure staff were happy to save their vocal cords, too. My drinks were on the counter. You can help yourself to a tray, which I did. My drinks looked good. What I should have done was sipped both before walking to my car. This place was so generous with the pour that my drinks were topped to the brim. One of my drinks did spill out a bit as I was about to go through the doors. Oops. I stopped to sip both of them. I was good! I got to my car and safely put my drinks down in my caddy. Just from sipping them, I loved the flavours so much. The orange one had slices of orange and chewy konjac. It was slightly sweet and fizzy. It was cheerful to drink. I had the orange slices, minus the peel, of course. Yum! The peach drink was equally as awesome. It was bubbly, with generous chunks of peach and konjac. It was fruity and chewy. So good! Both were so refreshing on a hot July evening. I'm glad that I got two drinks. I enjoyed my first two drinks from this tea place. I'll be back for more! (301)
