Yo this place is a such a mood--I vibe with this place so hard. Their decor is *chef's kiss* and their drinks are also fantastic! Delicious drinks and very instagramable--props to their design team for the concept. Their prices are also pretty reasonable too. However, I would defiantly go for a non-plain drink. I think their tea isn't quite their strong suit, so it's not going to be comparable to bubble tea shops with great tea as their drink base. Recently, my friend treated me to bubble tea at Deer Mango in Mississauga. The drinks were excellent. I noticed that the bubble tea cups had stickers covering whatever was under them. I peeled off one of them and noticed Song Tea. Interesting. My quest was to find a Song Tea and see what the difference was between the drinks at the two places. I wasn't interested in why the name was covered up. It's not really my business, but it did spark my curiosity to try Song Tea. I did a search and found that this location in Richmond Hill was the closest to me. After running a number of errands a couple of Saturdays ago, I placed an order through Uber Eats for pickup. I ordered the following drinks: - Blue Curacao soda - Pink peach soda I had the former drink at Deer Mango, so I would do the comparison between stores with it. I love carbonated drinks, so I had to get the other one that was available. My order was ready well before I got to the store. Due to the lockdown, it wasn't busy at Times Square. For years, I avoided this area like the plague because it was busy and parking was chaotic. It was the complete opposite when I got there. There was a lone car parked in front of the store. I parked next to it and walked in. The store is cute. I would think that it was much cuter before the pandemic. There was a little whirlpool that was empty. I looked at older photos and it had colour balls and plushies. It looks like the mascot is either a llama or alpaca, which made my day! I talked to the woman behind the counter. She was so friendly. I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order. She pointed at the bag in front of her and said that it was mine. I was thrilled. I thanked her and left with my goodies. I had the drinks when I got home. Let's talk about packaging. So much care went into it. Both my drinks were in a crate in the paper bag with a cool camouflage motif. At this store, I was able to specify that I didn't want any sugar in my drinks. I didn't have that option at Deer Mango. The lowest sugar option was 30%. The small pineapple chunks in the blue curacao drink were yummy. I love this drink so much. It wasn't sweet. It had carbonation. It was pretty. It tasted great! I then had the pink peach drink. It was so good with the small strawberries. The peach flavour worked well with the strawberry bits. I loved the fizziness. It also made me feel like it was summer drinking this beverage. Honestly Song Tea never disappoints! This has got to be one of the favourite bubble tea shops ever. PERIODT. I also like how the plaza is a bit quieter and not as crazy as commerce gate, making for easy trips in and out of the plaza. I've tried a bunch of things from Song Tea - recently the dirty milk teas (brown sugar boba). The tapioca pearls are soft and flavourful. They still have that warm mess to them as if they were just cooked (or maybe I got a super fresh batch). Recently they've been giving out cute takeout bags which have a very hype design. I really liked the Sakura pearls when I first tried them but recently they've been sold out. Tieguanyin tea is always a favourite of mine, it has a nice light taste to it. Price point is a bit high for bubble tea, but in line with the competition. It's definitely my go to spot despite all the competition in the area! I loved the aesthetic interior which is now looking a little sad these days, but looking forward to the days when you can sit inside once again and enjoy the ambience. My cousin was craving a bubble tea and it just so happens that we had dinner in the very same plaza. How convenient. We walked over and could see the bright and cute decor from the outside. There's a small ball pit that customers are welcome to go in, after they've taken off their shoes of course. We went with a black sugar dirty tea and a strawberry dirty tea. The black sugar tea already comes with tapioca but it's extra for the strawberry dirty tea. The cashier recommended the Sakura pearls instead of the regular ones and advised that the sugar level was set and not changeable. There was a few people that ordered ahead of us so there was a short wait. I took in all the cute decorations around the shop while waiting. I did notice that there wasn't much seating available so this is definitely a grab and go place. There was no noticeable difference in taste with the Sakura pearls but that could be because the strawberry tea tasted so good! There was even chunks of strawberry in it. I work in the area so I've been waiting for something to open up in this spot for a while. First there were signs for Gong Cha for months but then that fell through. Then I started seeing photos of this place on Instagram and I realized that it was in the exact same spot! Since I'm so close by, I decided to drop in right away. Keep in mind that this is from before their grand opening. First of all, the place is incredibly instaworthy. The pink, white and grey colour scheme go perfectly together. The gold accents are also beautiful. The decor is on point! The drinks on the other hand, were mediocre. The girl taking my order was sweet and I asked her for recommendations and then placed my order for two drinks but both came out wrong. I had asked for 30% sugar but she gave me 100% and it was too sweet. In my other drink I asked for no ice but she gave me no sugar. :( The second time I went was during their grand opening when they were giving out free HK Milk Tea. I could tell that it would be good if the flavour was stronger, but it was a bit watered down (probably because it was free)? I came around noon at Saturday and there were maybe 2-3 people inside. There's only two tables, so there was not much space to sit. The place itself is cute - a shallow ball pit, pink walls, pink telephones, and a faux sink area. Its pretty for photos. I ordered the HK milk tea with the sakura jelly, as their sakura pearls weren't ready yet. The drink itself was ok. The jelly had a nice chewy texture and was shaped like tapioca pearls, but lacked the sakura flavour in my opinion. The drink was 5$ plus tax. With so many bbt places around, it's hard to really say what's good and what's not as a lot of them use 'premium tea'. I went to Song Tea when they had their grand opening and so I got their signature milk tea with tapioca. As an individual that gets no sugar (but their free drink was the original with full sugar), the drink was rather sweet for my liking. that being said, if you like that bbt milk tea flavour, I think they hit the spot. you can still taste the tea flavor without being overpowered by the milk itself. The tapioca was nice and good in texture with a little chew and not mushy. Their cocoa milk tea was slightly disappointing as you didnt taste much of the cocoa if you get no sugar. tasted a bit diluted for sure. Their fruit tea was nice. My friend got the strawberry one I believe and although not too strong in flavour, there was real fruit bits in it and the fruit blended well with the tea. I've tried it from a lot of other brands, but Song Tea has a nice thick consistency. It's so delicious I can't even describe it, but you'll understand when you try it!! The drink pictured uses a green tea base, with kiwi chunks at the bottom, and a cheese cap on top - the portions are roughly a 1:1:1 ratio. I passed by this place on my way to dinner and couldn't get it out of my head after making eye contact with a gigantic llama plush that was standing next to a mini ball pit pool. I needed to see what this bubble tea shop was all about. So it turns out that the "song" they use in their Chinese name kind of translates to crazy which is why the aesthetic inside the shop is weird and whacky. You will walk past an unwelcome mat, the ball pit, and funny sounding sayings on the walls. The menu is located in a weird place since the queue is to the right of the register if you're facing it but you need to walk over to the left to be able to see the large menu. There's a smaller one that's in a plastic stand by the register. They had some teas with the keyword "dirty" that I haven't seen before. I decided to give one of these a shot with the brown sugar dirty tea. This one came with tapioca. Some of the drinks do not include tapioca so make sure to ask. They will also recommend toppings if some drinks taste better with them. Our cashier recommended the sakura tapioca with the strawberry drink instead of just the regular tapioca. The drink itself was silky smooth and had the most amazing roasted tea flavour. The tapioca was also perfection. It had a subtle sweet flavour and was the right amount of chewy. Their size was also not too big or small. There is very limited seating inside. About 4 tables that can reasonably accommodate 2 people each so it's not the greatest place to go with a big group. Located in Time Square, it's a small shop that you may miss while passing by a whole bunch of other great food/drink places in this spot. There were a lot of inventory boxes inside which made the place look a little messy. I believe they're renovating a little bit? Another small complaint is that some of their drinks in the top 10 menu screen aren't actually on their main paper menu or on the website. This place is located so close to so many other bubble tea shops. My friend and I usually go to The Alley or Chatime across the street but this was new and we thought we'd check it out. When we got there, the fun pink atmosphere with the ball pit was sure but the menu full of hilariously named teas we saw on all the blogs was no where to be found. Instead there was a menu with few options, all were quite simple and run of the mill. I went with a Hong Kong milk tea with brown sugar bubbles while my friend got a lemon lime "tea". My milk tea was alright though it was weight to have warm bubbles in my iced tea. My friend's lemon lime "tea" was just lemon and lime slices in a cup topped with water. For that, she paid $6-$7. Other than the ball pit or decor which could seem like a trendy back drop for an instagram photo, this place just isnt worth it. I'm a huge bbt fan and am always down to travel anywhere just to try some new bbt. I've been seeing Song Tea in all of my friends' social media and knew I had to make the travel from Brampton and check it out! I came on a Saturday afternoon around 4 pm and there wasn't much of a line at all, which I expected as bbt spots usually don't get busy until the evening. As soon as you walk in you'll notice the cute pink interior with flamingos, and even the ball pit! Came here recently with a friend because it was in the area and she had been here before. I was delightfully surprised by how trendy and boujee the interior design was. The visual aesthetics of the pink flamingos contrasting the gold-rimmed chairs, the neon signs, and the playful ball pit were all extremely captivating and I was genuinely surprised a bubble tea store like this existed in this somewhat-older plaza. However, this came at the cost of seating space as I noticed that there were only 2 real tables and 7 chairs. Not an ideal location to hangout with a larger group of friends and even as a party of two, you're chancing to see if you'll get a seat. I took a sip of the Jasmine Tieguanyin Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca and found that it was very milky. Despite not being one of the latte beverages, it tasted as if it were made from fresh milk. I enjoyed that the overall drink wasn't too sweet, since most drinks with brown sugar tapioca are, but I would've enjoyed it more if it weren't so milky. Absolutely love their fruit teas omg! My all time favourite and new go-to drink is now the strawberry pear tea! They make it by crushing fresh strawberries and pear together and mixing it with tea. You dont even need to add toppings because the fruit bits are already good enough. Kinda like a healthier option to bubble tea (although not good enough to replace tapioca of course) I also love their cute set up and decor, definitely insta worthy if you ask me! I keep telling myself ill try other stuff on their menu but i always end up gettting the same thing. I love how the place looks and the different areas you can go in the little shop to take pictures but they should have seriously just opened a photo pop up shop instead of a bubble tea shop. They are expensive... small... and not tasty. When the drinks came out i knew right away what they spent their money most on. They spent it on the decor (of course), BUT the reason why their drinks are so expensive.. is because of the PACKAGING. Seriously their cups are STURDY. Their straws are HARD plastic... and you know what? even their straws PACKAGING had to be a nice brown matte color of thicker paper. Their top cover is also MATTE. I've been to a lot of bubble tea places and this is the very very first one i have ever been to that has packaging THAT sturdy. You do not need to invest so much money into your packaging unless your product sucks. Look at Cha Time and The Alley... This bubble tea shop has a very interesting name and very interesting decor - everything is pink and there is even a mini ball pit with pink character plushies sitting on top. The menu also looks more artistic than your average LED screen. Beyond all the glam though, I wasn't that impressed by the drink. I only tried the Thai milk tea, which wasn't as strong as those in Thai restaurants. The tapioca wasn't as chewy or sugary as some other bbt joints either. I'm a huge fan of bubble tea and have probably tried every bubble tea joint in Markham, Richmond Hill and North York. Song Tea still remains one of my favourites. Not only is the interior super cute and photo worthy, but so are their drinks! I was never a fan of fruit teas but Song Tea changed my view on that. The Strawberry Pear is one of my favourites. It's refreshing, and quenches my thirst unlike milk teas that leave me wanting a glass of water after. The toppings are interesting and Konjac bubbles not only come in a cute pink colour but have an interesting texture to it. I used to avoid the plaza at Leslie and Hwy 7 like the plague, but the other night, I decided to stop by Song Tea to try their strawberry & blueberry cheese foam beverage, and I am glad I did! First off, for a Friday night, the parking lot was pretty quiet (a bonus!). The shop is located on the north-west side of the plaza (don't trust Google Maps -- it says that it's on the south-east side). Quite a small shop, but they did wonders with the decor! Very trendy and pink. The workers were diligent and very kind. Even though I was the only one there, they were pretty quick with the service. It gave me just enough time to snap a few photos and my drink was ready! You can control the sugar level (note: the lowest sugar level for this particular drink is 30%), but trust me, if you went any lower, it wouldn't taste as great. For some, when they hear cheese foam, it sounds gross (I know), but it is truly delicious! I will definitely be returning to try some of their other beverages! :) read more

Trendy new bubble tea spot in Times Square. Came on a weekend after lunchtime -- we noticed a steady stream of customers coming in, which was a good sign. The cutesy Instagram-ready interiors will not be everyone's cup of tea, but the tea itself is decent. We ended up ordering the beurre milk tea with brown sugar pearls, black sugar dirty tea (brown sugar pearls included), and Thai milk tea latte (normally comes with brown sugar pearls but substituted with sago). Of the three, the beurre milk tea was the favourite -- not exceptional, just a black milk tea with a little extra creaminess to it. Half sugar and half ice was just right for this drink. The Thai milk tea has a fixed sugar level. The atmosphere was relaxed and fairly conducive to chatting, so we ended up staying for a couple hours. I ordered another drink before leaving, passionfruit tea, which actually comes with pineapple, lime, and watermelon. I found it rather watery tasting with only half sugar. Overall, it's a good bubble tea shop. The frequency of orders -- several customers left with bags full of drinks -- ensures freshness. Nothing we ordered was out of stock. The menu selection is extensive, but the menu board is not clearly legible and can feel overwhelming to look at. Pricing is slightly higher than expected, but some drinks include toppings that would normally cost 50¢ to add. Stamp card holders get a free drink after 10 purchases. read more

I ordered the HK milk tea with Sakura tapioca and it was the worst bbt I've had in a long while, sorry. The Sakura tapioca was sooooo flavourless it tasted like water.. and it was also not chewy. I got no ice with the hk milk tea and 70% sugar and it was lukewarm and BLAND. I asked the cashier to add ice to it afterwards but the ice melted 5 secs after I got it back and the drink was still lukewarm lol. If you're looking for BBT in Richmond Hill, it is a given that you head to Commerce Gate Plaza-that's where most of BBT shops are. Cha Time, One Zo, Coco to name a few. Cha Time's tea flavour is consistent. The Alley used to be my fave- especially the deerioca, but lately on my last 3 visits, the flavours seemed watered down. Tru Tea along Hwy 7 is good too, but the wait is so long. Imagine my excitement when I heard of Song Tea. Its located in Times Plaza, with plenty of parking spots unlike Commerce Gate. I have tried HK tea, Brown Sugar Dirty, Beurre Milk Tea with brown sugar pearls - this is now my go to for BBT. The place is clean, order comes out very fast and the teas are good and the servers are pleasant. The chewiness of the brown sugar tapioca is always consistently good. My BF tried the kiwi tea with cheese foam and he was in love. They also have a secret menu that I will be trying out in my next visit. Cheers! read more

This is definitely one of those bubble tea spots you visit primarily for the cool picture. The interior of Song Tea is decked out in all pink. I tried the Dahongpao milk tea with black tea jelly and brown sugar tapioca while my friend tried the strawberry fruit tea with sakura tapioca. Both drinks were very tasty, however around $1 more than other bubble tea places in the area. There's not a lot of seating in the store if you wanted to stay and chill - there's probably max 5 seats. The service was friendly, but on the slower side. A nice place to check out if you're already grabbing food in the Times Square plaza. read more

The decor is beautiful here, they had a bathroom feel which is very unique. But.... waiting it's LONG. This place is so cute with the pink theme and modern furniture for seating. There is tons of choices for drinks so I definitely will be coming back to try out the different milk tea, fruit tea and cheese tea options. I tried the HK milk tea, beurre milk tea and kiwi tea so far. All of them were really good. I'd say the prices are pretty much average to other places that offer more "speciality" drinks. The beurre tea was a very interesting flavour, I still don't have words to describe. As for the kiwi tea, which is a popular choice based on the menu recommendations, was delicious. They added some chunks of kiwi and green apple in it along with the tea. It was super refreshing and you can eat the fruits after. My only complaint was that I found the fruit sticker on the apple slice which was kinda gross. I also found the service to be a bit slow but it might be just because they are just starting out and hopefully will get better with time. As such, 3.5/5 stars. read more

I came here a while back after a meal in the same plaza. I got the matcha latte with cheese foam and Sakura konjac. Although the drink was good, and all their drinks look really cute, the service took FOREVER. There was maybe 4 drinks ahead of mine and I waited over 45 minutes for it. Although the store is cute with its ball pit and the drinks are pretty, I don't think I'll be coming back to wait again. read more

I love fruit teas, however this quirky girlie bubble tea decor has made me fallen in love with milk tea. I am mild lactose but it's worth every sip. Highly recommended the dirty milk tea series!! mango is a must, the avocado is a bit buttery. The watermelon cheese is amazing. The combination sounds a bit gross but when you mix it together before drinking, it is so FRESH and SMOOTH- nothing you would expect with these two combination. read more
