A cute and cozy spot to get some refreshingly delicious Thai drinks. The service was fast and the person who served us was friendly and patient. We got the Pistachio Thai Milk Tea (4/5) and Taro Thai Milk Tea (5/5). Pistachio Thai Milk Tea was strongly infused with nuttiness of the pistachio with hints of sweetness. The Thai black tea was strong and was balanced with the creaminess of the milk. I wanted to try their house-made pandan mochi but they didn't have any. Hopefully in the future, they'll be able to make enough so customers would be able to try it. Taro Thai Milk Tea had a strong flavour of the Thai Milk Tea which was complemented well with the sweetness and earthiness of the taro. I love my Thai tea so I'm pleasantly surprised when I found this place in North York. Very extensive menu but of course we had to get their specials. We got the Thai rose milk tea and the pistachio one. The tea flavour is very strong and the rose was fragrant (I really enjoyed it). It wasn't too sweet either which was perfect. I'm a little shy to admit that I visited (or ordered from) Chapayom several times within less than a week while in Toronto for a work trip. But honestly, no regrets. In-person, especially on a cold day, this spot has a nice vibe. The woman working there was patient and friendly while my friend and I stood slightly overwhelmed by the menu. Even on a snowy day, several tables were occupied, so it felt lively without being too busy or noisy, making it easy to carry on a conversation. The second time I went back was with a coworker specifically to try the mango sticky rice. The portion was generous, so I def wouldn't suggest ordering it if you are already full, but it was so good! The third time was a delivery order, and we went all in on the mango sticky rice dessert drinks. None of us had seen that dessert flavour offered as a drink before outside of Chapayom. My recommendations are the Pandan Taro Milk with Soft Taro Mochi, the Taro Roasted Coconut Thai Milk Tea with Soft Taro Mochi, the Roasted Coconut Thai Milk Tea and their Roasted Coconut Thai Green Milk Tea. I love their pandan drinks because they cut the pandan daily so it's fresh and has a good texture. There were a few people in the queue ahead of me, but the service was very quick and efficient. Location/Service This place is located on the ground floor of the condo complex Wellesley. There's street parking around the block, you have to find it strategically - but it's also right by the TTC. Inside is a decent size - cause it's by a condo complex, it has very high ceiling and a good use of natural lightning from the windows. There's a few seating arrangements available and I saw a few students studying there, which is pretty good. Staff were very nice - talked to the owner for a little bit and she helped explain the drinks and the seasonal offerings in great detail. Food/Drink They have a new combo that is $11.55 - and it's a Thai Milk Tea (with tapioca) and a Coconut Pandan Custard Shokupan. Since this place is Thailand's version of bubble tea - the Thai Milk tea was definitely spot on - smooth, a little sweet (which you can adjust) that gives you a kick to your adrenaline. The tapioca was chewy and soft - which you know they've done it right. The shokupan is a Japanese style milk fluffy bread - which the owner said it's self-made, so they nailed the recipe cause I thought it was store bought. The coconut pandan was very creamy, a little heavy, but compliments well with the bun. Pandan is usually on the sweeter end, but it wasn't overly sweet - fit to the not to sweet Asian standard. I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time and I'm finally glad I did - everything was awesome and I hope they have a location uptown soon! read more

An awesome new bubble tea spot that only opened this past summer. Its located right by Wellesley TTC station. I used to live in Yorkville, so I frequented the Yonge/Bloor - Yonge/Wellesley area for years. In the past few years since COVID, the sort of rectangle engulfed by Bay - Wellesley - Yonge has been completely revamped. There is a nice new park there, a concrete walking pass through area, and some new businesses including Chapayom! The indoor seating area has a large number of tables and is decorated by flowers and a really cool Thai Taxi for instagrammable shots. The staff were amazing, and despite having been very busy, they accomdated some allergy requests without issue or complaint. They actually had washrooms with is a rarity compared to other boba places downtown which are mostly take-out or have a very small seating area. In the summer months or even when its nice weather out and you're dressed to accommodate, having a seat at the previously mentioned new park with your bobas makes for a great time out. I love myself a good cup of bubble tea and Chapayom did not disappoint, I ordered the Thai Milk Tea with Boba - the tea was perfectly brewed and the boba was chewy and delicious. The service was fast and I got my drink within a couple of minutes of ordering. The atmosphere is inviting and there are some neat, little trinkets inside to explore while sipping on your drink. The shop is beautiful and airy with a fair amount of seating, and it's also located in a very scenic park if you want to take your drink outside. Most of the teas on the menu use Thai flavours, and it is more fragrant and bolder than normal milk tea. I had the green Thai milk tea with Konjac crystal and I really enjoyed it. 50% sweet was a good amount in my opinion, I maybe could have gone for even less. I really liked the konjac jelly as it had more of a bouncy texture than normal tapioca. All my friends enjoyed their drinks as well, and I especially liked the Thai coffee with coconut milk as it had a rich and deep flavour. Made another visit this (Sunday) evening ~6PM & hung inside with friends. Service was quick and friendly as usual. Washrooms were clean, as usual. Half the seats were occupied, but trickled out within an hour. Got the October/Halloween special: Thai green tea with mango puree/chunks/slush and lime jelly. Less sugar. I recommend this be mixed very well because one of these ingredients made the final taste really TART. But as I drank through the drink, it was actually quite enjoyable. I'd order it again. As good as it gets! Found this place recently and I've been a huge fan since. In my opinion, the drinks here are the closest to authentic Thai style here in the city. My go-to's here are definitely the Thai milk tea with pandan jelly. I also really like the Thai rose milk tea.. I usually get this with the konjac jelly. The workers here are very nice and are very helpful when trying to decide what to order. This place usually has some drink specials and drinks that align with the holidays. A friend recommended this place to me and was I ever so grateful! I've always wanted to try the Thai Pink Milk (Nom Yen), and they had one! It was exciting, but I realized it's not my kind of tea. I'll probably stick to my thai milk tea. It was on a the sweet side (it's made of palm fruit syrup and milk), but I appreciate the creaminess/milk taste to it. I happened to randomly stumble upon this place while walking around with my sister, and it was such a good find. I had never heard of it before, but I was happy to know that it's an authentic Thai milk tea place. The interior was gorgeous with flowers all around and plenty of seats. Since this was my first time here, I decided to get the regular Thai milk tea with half sugar and pandan jelly (dollar extra). I usually don't see pandan jelly offered at other places, so this was super exciting. The milk tea had a very mild taste to it, not sure if it was because I chose half sugar, but I don't mind at all. The workers were super friendly and help with my questions. They said that the roasted coconut milk tea does contain some lactose. I got the Thai milk tea, half sweet and it's the perfect amount of sweetness for me, not overly sweet. I also had Konica crystals as a topping and it was link a squishy tapioca with a soft bite to it. My friends also got it half sweet and was perfect. The roasted coconut milk coffee does have a strong coffee flavour if that's what you're looking. The interior is super pretty with a taxi bike replica that they have in Thailand and a lot of beautiful floral decor. The theyre a seating for about 17 or more.
