ive said this before, and ill say it again - tru tea is hands down the best bbt chain! all their drinks are handcrafted, made to order & each drink is customized to your liking. service is always friendly, drinks are always tasty!

    Taro milk tea
    Rochelle C.

I bought 3 different drinks so far. All were delicious. I decided to go after seeing their Instagram posts about how they're different and more healthy (trupioca and real ingredients). Taro milk tea was my fav. Tea very strong. I don't even like taro but the texture was great. The strawberry trupioca and mango sago were very fruity and flavourful as well. However, in my last encounter the staff decided to do some playing around at the register making me wait 5 mins without any explanation (ignoring me). When i finally got to order, they messed up my sugar level. I asked for no sugar but got light sugar. I didn't notice until I got on the subway and drank my drink. Too late to go back and complain. Overall i like the drinks and find them better than other expensive bbt places. I also like that it's closer than current favorite bbt place in Chinatown.

Double Roasted Frosty (with Mozza Foam)

I had my first visit to TRU TEA a couple months ago. For my first time, I had their Double Roasted Frosty (w Mozza Foam). It really does taste like an iced capp but the bubble tea version! I usually have hot or cold bubble tea drinks so it was nice to have a frosty bubble tea for a change.  ---  I got this with 70% sugar but if you're not much of a sugar person, I recommend going for 30% sugar. The brown sugar tapioca was a nice add to the drink but it wasn't as tasty as I expected. I'm more of a fan of the frosty part of the drink.    Follow @debeats_ for more bubble tea finds!

Really friendly service. I was excited that this very neat bbt store was opening up and decided to come here after work one day with my coworker. There was a bit of a wait but it was fine, it gave us enough time to decide on what to get. I got the mango tru-pioca and it was yummy, the jelly reminded me of kanten agar (maybe it was haha). The mango flavor was strong, I enjoyed it. We went back again and I got to try their other drinks such as the fresh taro tru tea and it was delicious! I recommend this bbt chain, each drink is made with good quality.

Strawberry Trupioca $7.95 Peach Rose Latte with Rose Pudding $6.95

Tru Tea is a hidden gem with many unique drinks you definitely won't find elsewhere! . Strawberry Trupioca $7.95 4/5 1:1 strawberry slush to milk ratio! The trupioca was very interesting, it's like a dense jelly. Best strawberry drink at a bbt store! . Peach Rose Latte with Rose Pudding $6.95 3/5 The peach and rose tasted a bit artificial, and not to my liking.

Left: Golden Mango Green Tea tru*fresh with tapioca (large) Right: Coconut Mango tru*seasonal drink without pudding & with tapioca (regular)

Friend and I were feeling adventurous and wanted to try a local bubble tea spot in the area instead of our regular go-to, Coco's, and Tru Tea came up with great reviews and pictures, so we went here without a second thought. Advertised drinks as well as the location were aesthetically appealing; clean and quiet. Staffs were friendly, although the girl who was taking our order seemed like she was new, and wasn't too sure about the drink options, the add-ins, etc. Surprisingly, they did not have my regular, Matcha Milk tea, so I had to pick something else. Drinks: I opted in for the Golden Mango Green Tea tru*fresh with tapioca, and my friend, after not being able to get the drink she went in for, since they weren't serving that at this location, opted in for the Coconut Mango tru*seasonal (w/ tapioca & w/o pudding); the only downside were the sizes, since the Mango Green tea only came in large and the Coconut Mango was only available in regular, although my friend would have preferred a large as well. Also, the sugar level was not adjustable in the coconut mango and the drink ended up being too sweet for our liking, however tasted great, while the mango green tea was very refreshing and had fruit pieces in it. There were generous amount of tapioca in our drinks so we were happy. Price: The drinks were very fairly priced for the quality, with the Golden Mango Green tea being $5.95 plus $0.50 for a large with tapioca, and the Coconut Mango being $6.25 plus $0.50 for the regular. Great bubble tea spot, would recommend, and would go back.

    Ovaltine Cake Creme

Tried out the Ovaltine Cake Creme because it was BOGO on uber eats. I was pleasantly surprised with how good it tasted! It's a pretty sweet drink but you can tell that from the name. It tasted like ovaltine with a bit of powder in there so just make sure you stir it well. It only came in the regular size and it is quite pricey so not somewhere i'd come often but definitely serves as a tasty treat.

Average bubble tea spot. You won't be disappointed, but you probably won't be blown away by anything

    brown sugar brûlée

beautiful and creative drinks just newly opened a location by Ryerson, across from the Mattemy Athletic Centre. Also not too far of a walk from close to College TTC station. They have such a big menu with an amazing variety of all sorts of drinks! Customizable sugar & ice level for majority of drinks, and cold/hot option available for some drinks. Top pick to recommend: I really love their brown sugar brulee drink in their "tru-mozzarella collection", delicious good that I wish they offered a large size of this drink too.Another of their popular drink is the creme de la creme, it's kind of like a "cake-like" milk tea drink. As a taro lover myself, i really do recommend this fresh taro tru tea drink, because it's the perfect combination of mash taro, milk tea, and purple rice all in one drink. They also have an option to add Tru-pioca as one of the toppings. I was curious of what it would taste like, so we added it to give it a try. The tru-pioca was different from the regular pearls, it was a little less chewy, and was kind of like a mix of taro balls and tapioca. Fresh Taro Tru Tea - $6.50 Mango Pearl Latte - $6.30 Brown Sugar Brulee - $6.00 Strawberry Tapioca - $6.80 Tru Milk Tea - $5.30

Amongst the myriad of bubble tea shops in the downtown court area, it is hard to stand out. Tru opened recently near College Station, an area that is already supersaturated with excellent bubble tea shops. We ordered a large fresh taro milk tea with purple rice. The light sugar level corresponds to around 60% sugar levels at other places. The bubble tea was great - it reminded us of fresh HK milk tea we tried in Hong Kong. This is something that we often don't find another bubble tea shops. In the volatile bubble tea market that is Toronto, this humble shop brands itself as the new generation of innovative tea. To that claim, we can say only one thing: Tru!

Today I tried their Double Roasted Frosty with Mozza Foam as well as the Strawberry Matcha Latte since they were the new items. I really liked the Double Roasted Frosty! The cheese foam gave a slightly salty flavour to complement the sweetness that comes with the creamy flavour. It tastes better than the other cheese foam ones I've tried elsewhere for sure. The matcha latte was standard tasting, it tasted like what I expected. Overall an enjoyable experience, I would visit again to try the cheese foam drinks!

    Leaking
    Zhaoli Z.

I order three tea: Two made with wrong sizes and one of them is leaking that I couldn't drink. Third one taste like water, i doubt that they didn't even put tea in it. Talk to them and they said because of the COVID19, and the order was made from a new employee. I get that part which totally understandable, what I confused is that they have no intention to correct the mistake. Great customer service. Never order again :)

They have the freshest tapioca! I usually get less sugar with mine and like how the milk tea still tastes great.

But it's the tapioca that really makes the drink shine with how fresh and bouncy they are. For a tea shop, this place also has really good food. Tried the scones and they were super buttery, very flavourful, and were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside like all great scones. We also got some Filipino meals - the lechon kawali and lumpia super crispy, the bangsilog had a good portion size for the price, and the halo-halo was refreshing. Place is mainly a takeout spot, but there are a couple of small tables to sit 4. Service is friendly. Tea offerings are extensive. Worth a drop-by.

Walking in, there's a great amount of cakes, cookies, and drinks. Cookies: The matcha white chocolate cookie was freshly made. Quite soft and delicious. Reasonably sized cookie. Yema cake: It was my first time having the Yema cake so I was looking forward to try it. I got the ube flavour and a soft chiffon cake texture. It wasn't too sweet and was perfect for a nice small dessert. The staff were friendly and the service was good. It's too bad there's limited seating as it would be great to dine-in. I definitely want to come back to try out their drinks!
