Not only have they had the true Jedi Knight of pools Chuck Naverson, but when I was with them they had over 115 years of experience working at the store on a daily basis. I worked for Chuck from 2000-2002 and moved on and left the state, but on return I decided to move back into the industry, and with the experience I gained from B&B I've got a new future. I live in Goodyear, but if I lived the east valley I'd beg for my job back. To this day I've never met anyone who knows as much about pools and how to maintain, fix and work them like the staff of B&B Pools. When Chuck flew me out to Las Vegas for the national pool and spa convention at the Hilton Hotel I knew Chuck was a pool God by the amount of respect he got from everyone who knew and everyone seemed to know him. With the stresses of something going wrong with our first pool and the urgency to get it fixed in a timely and affordable manner, it was a breath of fresh air to do business with them. With several quotes from a couple other companies, B&B pools was the most affordable for the same products we needed replaced, and were actually able to get it done the quickest. Earlier this year I decided I had had enough of the big chain pool store. Knowing I was going to be updating my pool equipment, I set out to find a new store that could also handle the job. I read the reviews for B&B and decided to give them a try. I'm sure glad I did. When you talk to the people at B&B you can tell you're dealing with honest people. I really appreciate all the pool equipment pricing clearly marked even the install fees both of which are quite a bit lower than the national chain. I had Kyle come out and give me a quote and there were no surprises or any attempt to sell something I did not need. What was a surprise was when I agreed to the install Kyle never asked for me to sign anything. Bear in mind I was not a long established customer. I think I had bought 2 cases of acid up until that point. A handshake was our contract. When Kyle arrived to do the install everything was perfect and he set up a program to get me started since I was new to a variable speed pump. He answered all my questions and the work was expertly done. Recently I brought my pool cleaner in for repair and had the same type of experience. All fixed at a very reasonable price. Honest. I absolutely give B and B Pools 5 stars. Would give more if I could. The Technician (Dave Preston) is awesome! Totally appreciate him. My pool pump motor died after 28+ years and the DE Filter was equally old and was leaking. Meaning both needed to be replaced. I did my homework, engaged another company on the west side of the valley for an estimate. Took me a little over a week to get an estimate. I wasn't feeling comfortable with the info they provided, so I reached out to B and B Pools. Dave took my call, took my information, called me back and provided an estimate within an hour!!! BETTER, the estimate was $600.00 LESS than the "other" company. Dave did the install, cleaned up the existing plumbing and got everything running beautifully. There is a reason they have a great reputation. I'm not a pool expert and the current house I live in has an older pool with a pump motor that started to run extremely loud. Instead of just the option of replacing the motor and pump like the other quotes I got, their tech guy Dave gave me a few options including a repair of the motor. $200 vs $1500 expense. I got a couple other quotes but they did not offer the repair. Highly recommend. read more

When we bought our home in 2001, I was freaked out about the prospect of caring for and mataining a swimming pool. When I asked the previous owner about pool maintenance, he referred me to B & B. These guys are great. Over the years, their staff has walked me through every maintenance task and problem that I have encountered. Once, my pool pump failed overnight on a Saturday and they were able to have it rebuilt by Noon on Sunday. Regardless of how small a part I need or how poorly I describe it, they always have what I need in stock. There have been a few times where I have had to pick up pool supplies elsewhere (home improvement store/pool supply store/etc) and have never met staff who are attentive or knowledgable as the good folks at B & B. B & B is a great business and their help and guidance has helped me keep my pool blue and swimmable. read more

Great place! Much more knowledgeable staff and better prices than Leslies. Our pool cleaner stopped working, literally, on the bottom of our pool. We took it into Leslies and they said that everything looked good and for us to check our hoses for leaks and if there aren't any, to check our pool pump to make sure its working correctly. Lastly, if both seem fine, then they suggested we have the lines cleared out because maybe there are debris causing the pump/cleaner to not suck enough water to move it about. Did what he said, checked everything, and everything seemed fine. Called a few pool companies around the valley, but none serviced my area. This ended up being a good thing, because we probably saved money in the end. We decided to take our pool cleaner into B&B and they said they would take care of it, took our name & number, and our pool cleaner and said it would be ready by the following day. It was and the cost to fix it was MUCH less than we thought. Approx $60 to replace some parts on the machine. We were expecting over $100. Shoot, a 'service call' fee from the local pool service companies would of been about $50 alone. We took the cleaner back home and it worked like new. Great service, prices and most of all, KNOWLEDGEABLE staff. That can't be said enough. read more

Friendly staff, quick service and fair price. One of the last mom and pop stores around. The staff who fixed our Hayward vacuum was very knowledgeable and said the repair would take about 15 min. We went off to run an errand and by the time we returned, it was done. We wished that they had a outdoor pool to test things but the rep gave us a 99% rate that the unit would work. Sure enough, when we hooked up our unit at home, it ran perfectly. It was worth the 70 mile round trip ride to fix it rather than purchase a new unit. read more

Just an update, the owner contacted me and rectified the situation. Thank you B&B for caring about your customers!! Beware, they only go east to Gilbert for service. I found out the hard way. Called and made a service appointment early in the week (gave cross streets and address). They scheduled me no problem. The service guy (Kenny) called me the night before and let me know he'd be there between 8-9 the following day. I took the day off from work to get this done. I then receive a call about 8:30, from Kenny, confirming my cross streets. He then tells me that they don't come out that far. I then tell him that I've already took the day off and am willing to pay an additional trip charge. Nope, he says no can do. Very disappointed. Sometimes I wish that people would use their critical thinking skills and do what's right. I was even willing to pay for their time. read more

I agree with Tom T's review - I left Leslie's for the same reasons he did - the staff there had no idea what they were doing. B & B came highly recommended to me from a co-worker and I have been going there ever since. Great customer service and very reasonable pricing. I have a Hayward Poolvac and I've had it rebuilt here at a much lower cost than Leslie's has charged me in the past. Discovered B&B Pools last year and they helped re-build and re-install my pool pump - even gave it a nice fresh coat of paint too! Price was right also. Ever since then I've been back and never disappointed. Learned how to add a leaf catcher without spoiling the way my pool vacuum/cleaner works. Just this past month my teen put 2 gallons of muriatic acid in the pool becuase he thought it was chlorine! Ugh. Chemistry got all messed up. I nursed it back for a few weeks alone but it kept getting cloudy and looked like algae might be trying to make a come back... every 2nd or 3rd day or so in spite of my chlorine tablets, scrubbing, backwashing etc... with all our August dust storms. I took 1 sample to B&B and Kenny wrote down step by step instructions and 1 day later - I have my pool back again, clearner and bluer than ever. Awesome! Thanks Kenny! read more

I can't even begin to say out how much money B&B has saved us over the years. We just had an issue with our pump and cleaner. We were convinced it was time for a new pump. My Husband even suggested to Rubo, the serviceman that our pump might have finally "bit the dust". After checking it out, discovered a minor issue and got us back up and running. My motor stopped working on the pool filter. Some Bozo came out and gave me an estimate to repair of $450 to $550. I knew that sounded outrageous so I took the motor off myself and brought it into B&B. They repaired it within 10 minutes for $20. After I got the motor working I found some problems with the filter which required more work then I felt comfortable doing. B&B sent a serviceman out to fix it, he did an excellent job, for a very reasonable price. These guys are old school, knowledgeable, and I highly endorse them. read more

I've just decided to stop going here. I am happy to go spend more money somewhere else where they dont treat you like crap. All of my experiences with their staff has been arrogance. The last two times I've been in there I have tried to get my Hayward fixed. Both times they tell me it should work fine. I tell them it doesn't and they dont believe me. Always helpful and cheaper than the chain pool stores. Had a great experience with them last week. Took my Hayward pool cleaner in as it was tiring hoses in knots. They found a missing spring and replaced it no charge. Took it home and still had problem the next day. Returned to store and they looked it over while I waited. Determined one of the A-frame parts needed to be replaced. Took a new part out of the bag & replaced it in cleaner. They said no charge and I offered to pay multiple times. These people are as honest as they come. My pool motor was not working. I priced 5 places. Not only were they the cheapest but they said we can rebuild the motor for a third of the price. I brought it in and was given a price to rebuild would be $80 to $90. 30 minutes later the hot a phone call that it was done. It was just a condenser and the total charge was $20 and that included new ring gaskets. They could have easily done the rebuild. They have my business from now on. read more

Since when do pool companies have territories like a pizza joint? I tried to have a sand filter and motor replaced and was told "I was out of their service area." Mind you were talking Tempe, AZ to Mesa, AZ - a total of 15 miles! Doesn't make any sense to me so anyone out of their "territory" don't even give them a call. read more

I love B & B Pools! I have been working with them over the past year-a new pool owner, and I only have good things to say about them. They are very friendly, welcoming, expert, and generous with their guidance, and they have helped my wife and I to enjoy our pool. They will test your water for free, and often say it looks fine.
