It looked fine when they completed the job and it was brand new. Their work did not hold up. Their work started falling apart after just 6 years. It looks like it's been here 30 years but they surfaced this 8 years ago. Minimum this is supposed to last is 10 years. Wish I had better job done by them. We had True Blue Pools build one for us. We wanted a low maintenance pool with a full array of pop-ups and built-in chlorinator. We also wanted a waterfall, a large Baja pad and a pool deep enough to dive into. We were a little disappointed with the time required to complete the build (a full 6 months), but, we are very satisfied with the build quality and have been thoroughly enjoying our pool all summer. We would definitely recommend True Blue to anyone planning to add a pool to their yard. read more

We hired True Blue (MIke Truehardt) Pools to construct our pool for us. A bit of a challenging task as we live on a canal with a high water table (piles). Mike and his team were terrific.....professional, honest and timely. He gave us a price up front and was firm...but after speaking to a number of others, we decided to move forward. And three years later,glad we did. Our only complaint is they discontinued their "bi-weekly" maintenance service (we do not see a need to service our pool on a weekly basis). Well last year we hired a local company (Pequa Pools) to do our maintenance, which turned out to be a big mistake. They clearly were unfamiliar with our equipment and our pool never looked satisfactory to my wife or I. And to make things worse, they broke one of our pipes but failed to admit they did. We are now in our third season and the pool, once gain, looks brand new. We highly recommend Mike and his team if you want to deal with "straight shooting and knowledgeable" folks. read more

We were very pleased with the service we received from True Blue Pools. They resurfaced our diving pool with mini pebble. They also replaced the hardscaping around our pool and entire yard with travertine stone. The job was very challenging due to the large area, and the odd shape of our pool which required many unique coping cuts. We used to have a drainage problem, but they solved that with precision grading and a clever underground french drain solution that makes rain water essentially disappear through the travertine and travel away to naturally dissipate. The project management by Doug was superb, and the talented crews followed one another in lock step. This allowed for a smooth transformation from an old and tired yard to a beautiful living space. We would definitely call on True Blue Pools again should a need arise. read more

Nice pool, terrible support and service after installation. Small, family owned pool company - nice one on one service during planning. During construction phase some delays because everything is sub contracted out and they don't get preference on the schedules of the subs like big pool companies do. Little to no instructions left on how to maintain pool after installation. They pretty much hand you the manuals and show you the main panel. Follow up calls over time leave you with the impression that you are bothering them, especially office staff. Warranty issues are handled, but not without multiple calls. read more

We recently remodeled our pool originally built in 1959. The shape remained the same, but we installed all new finishes, a larger deck and new pool equipment. True Blue Pools was the one we chose for the job after interviewing three pool companies. We are very pleased with the new pool and would contract with True Blue Pools again for future work. This is a solid small business that has been around for close to 30 years. One of the owners, Terry, came out to our house to check out our yard and give us some different options on pool and equipment placement. He gave us different options but never was trying to hard upsell anything. In fact, when I inquired about a uv light, he told me he didn't push them because there was little evidence they worked in a large pool (they're better in hottubs). The other two companies I talked to said that UV lights were essential and would reduce my chlorine usage by 75%. I went online and saw a lot of posts confirming what Terry told me so I didn't waste my money. This was the type of honesty and integrity that secured my business. In fact, True Blue was the first contractor that bid, and as soon as Terry left, I told my wife that we would go with True Blue. The other two big name pool builders gave huge sales pitches of how great they were, tried to upsell everything and left me with a headache. Oh, and with True Blue, the owners are also the foremen on your project. So, everytime another stage in the build progressed, Terry was onsite checking the work, talking to the contractors, etc.Our pool build with True Blue stayed on time, in fact once it started, I couldn't believe how quickly it went. All aspects of the pool look wonderful and the equipment they installed is top notch. They also did travertine tile over our old patio and extended it which looks amazing.Their quote was itemized and very competitive. I knew exactly what I was getting and there were no surprises. Even though we changed our minds several times, Terry would requote us to exactly what we wanted.If you are looking for bells and whistles and gigantic showrooms, True Blue is not for you. If you are looking for an honest company with a ton of integrity, I highly recommend True Blue Pools. I don't recommend at all. We used True Blue to remodel our 1984 Shasta diving pool. We converted the pool from plaster to Pebble and replaced all existing equipment pump etc... They also resurfaced the pool deck. When first complete the pool looked amazing. However shortly after installation the grout on the water line tile began to fall out and the coating for the pool deck began to peel off. Since True Blue doesn't actually do any of the work in house and sub contract everything there were delays in getting the subs to come out and fix the work. Lets just say since the remodel we have had the same issues over and over. read more

We had Doug and his staff remodel our pool this past fall and we could not be happier with the result or the service we received. Every employee and subcontractor that we worked with guided us through this process and was professional and patient with our last minute changes. Even though we're sure our constant stream of questions drove them crazy they never acted irritated with us. Everyone showed up when they said they would and worked hard to make our dream a reality. Our pool sat empty for five years due to not being able to afford to fix it. Doug helped us to keep the job reasonably priced while still giving us a gorgeous pool that has added so much value (both for family enjoyment and monetarily) to our home.
