They replaced our aged-out pool surface from plaster to micro pebble which included treating the concrete and adding a curative to the pebble mix. They installed hand-set iridescent step markers and new directionals, an aerator fitting, safety drain covers, a hand rail and new tile at the water line. It was quite the project and they did it within the projected timeline. Jessica pleasantly took our original call, setting the tone at the beginning and arranged sales rep Brandon to come to the house. He truly embodies the Business Development Ninja title on his business card. He impressed us with his demeaner, transparency and thoroughness at our initial meeting and in their showroom/design center where we chose our colors from plenty of options for the new surface, tiles, handrail and step markers. Project Manager Shawn updated us nearly daily on what to expect and when. As busy as he was, he promptly answered our questions and concerns in detail with good humor and respect and kept everything on schedule which transpired as he described. Massive respect to Zach & Richard & Juan and everyone in the chip-out, tile & surface install crews who each worked diligently throughout the unseasonably hot days. Afterwards, Chad gave a helpful orientation on caring for our pool and its new surface and surprised us with some thoughtful gifts. When it's time to tackle the decking or replacing equipment, we'll be calling Barefoot. We've already called for monthly pool service and look forward to meeting our pool tech Britney who will no doubt impress us as well. Great management and great crew…read more Had a pool pump stop working, and my normal pool guy immediately blamed a failed motor in the pump, despite it only being 2 years old and gave me a large quote to replace. I called Pelican for a second opinion and rather than just push new hardware, they did their due diligence to pinpoint the problem.They figured out that not enough power was being supplied to the pool panel and it ended being a bad breaker that was supplying too little voltage for the pump to operate. One new breaker later and I am back up and running. Thanks Pelican for being good people and not just pushing products.

I called Friday morning at 8 AM to cancel that appointment after reading the reviews on yelp I was a little gun shy of a company that couldn't seem to get their scheduling together. So today is Monday, June 12 and at 9:30 AM this morning Paula showed up to give me the estimate for the pool. She shows up on the wrong day plus I even canceled the estimate on Friday and spoke with someone in the office, not voicemail. If they can't even get their schedule right for an estimate, I can imagine that they're showing up for pool service on a regular basis is probably not going to happen.

Pool Troopers was one of the fastest businesses to reply to my request for a pool cleaning estimate. I literally contacted about 6 to 7 pool cleaning companies in the Mesa area. Most of them had automated messages requesting pool information and even pictures. Most of them did not bother to follow up after I provided what they asked for. Within two days, Pool Troopers had a technician out to my house to evaluate my pool. The technician called me ahead of time and kindly explained when he will be by and what he will be doing as part of his assessment. I want to recognize Dave Frey (Technician) for making my initial "free" pool consultation a memorable one!!! Dave showed up and was on time to our appointment. He gave me the option to walk along as he explained what was needed and what he would be doing before leaving my property. I received an on-site estimate.... very affordable!!! Within a week, my pool was drained and cleaned, pump filters were cleaned, and new pool water was treated with proper chemicals. Kudos to Dave for his amazing customer service: diligence in communicating and updating status, working with me to accommodate my schedule, and most importantly being so personable (tough to find these qualities in people and/or businesses)!!! I believe in second chances, so I think Pool Troopers are worthy of new opportunities!! Contacted DJ about a spa plumbing leak. He came out within a day or two and gave me a diagnosis of…read morewhere the leak was coming from, but he needed to order the part. DJ initially kept me updated with this backordered part. Three weeks later DJ texted me saying the part would be in on Wednesday and he would be out to finish the repair on Saturday. I never heard from DJ again, completely ghosted me. I called another spa service and they came out the next day (a Thursday), diagnosed the leak (DJ's diagnosis was WRONG) and returned the following Monday and completed the repair. Would have done it on initial diagnosis, but had to get part from shop. For 3 weeks, I had a spa that was partially torn apart (I allowed this because DJ was going to return to complete repair in one week) and then wasn't even given the courtesy of telling me what was going on. I stayed home all day on the Saturday, but DJ never showed, called, or sent me a text. What I find weird is that all of our correspondence was cordial, so I'm not sure why I was just ghosted.
