He takes his company business reputation and excellent customer service very seriously and his integrity and honesty is much appreciated. I recently purchased a home in Tempe that had a pool. As a first time homeowner I had never worked on a pool before and had no idea how to work the systems. A friend recommended Dustin from Baker Pools and I had Dustin come out for a consultation. He walked me through everything I needed to know about the pool, setup all of the timers and looked over the equipment to make sure everything was working correctly. He warned me in advance that my pump seemed to be going out and that he would keep an eye on it for me. Once the pump went out he texted me and let me know and had it fixed within the week. He comes out weekly for a cleaning and check up. The one thing that I have really enjoyed about his work is that he makes sure to go the extra mile. He doesn't just do the cleaning and chemicals, he makes sure that everything looks and is working correct and if anything is needing my attention, Dustin texts me and lets me know. This is obviously very helpful, especially for me because I travel all of the time for work. I would HIGHLY recommend Dustin and Baker Pools if you need anything for your pool. Dustin Baker is so friendly and clearly honest that he will be my goto pool guy from now on. My pool equipment was more than 20 years old and pieces were failing one after another (motor 3 years ago, popup controller several years ago, sand filter leaking, etc) and he gave me a couple options to repair or replace. He gave me solid estimates and I chose to replace everything instead of continuing with bandaid fixes. Communication was great, scheduling was quick and on time, new equipment is top-notch, and now my pool looks great. The next day I called with some setup questions and he immediately came to my house to explain things in person! He took a lot of time to answer all my questions (even ones unrelated to the repair work). As a bonus, his associate Walter discovered a 3-foot snake living under the old equipment and coaxed him back to the preserve behind our house, and went back to work without missing a beat. We used Baker Pools for almost 5 years and for a while we were quite happy. Then recently we started having issues. Dustin sent someone out to repair a drip in our pump PVC (that had long been ongoing) and the guy left the pump in a state where it wouldn't even prime. We had to ask him to come back out, but for almost a week our pool turned green. He didn't fully fix it the second time and we still can't get our pump to fully prime. Secondly, our technician started to miss services without making an effort to communicate with us. The first time it was because our gate was locked. Then he missed a couple because our dogs happened to be out back at the time. We have been home all day due to the pandemic, so a simple knock on the door or text message would have alerted us. Instead, we didn't even get a notification that our service had been missed and we had to go another week without service. We asked Dustin to have his technician alert us when he was coming so that we could bring the dogs inside. But no effort to alert us was ever made. At the last missed service, we later got an email from Dustin saying that he was discontinuing our service because of issues with our dogs. We were surprised that he didn't even bother to pick up the phone to talk to us. read more
