was told they the price for servicing my pool per Month was around 120-150$. Then I get a deduction for 323$. i called. They said they used like 75$ in chlorine tabs. The guy taking care of it didn't know what he was doing. One week it's clear then the next he did something and it had a green tint. no idea what he's doing back there. But to charge me more than double and not to call me about it first is crazy. If you're treating pool and you mess up something it's not my fault. I shouldn't have to pay extra for someone not understanding how to treat the pool. i cancelled service and the owner won't call me back. Place is ran horribly. read more

I love the service I get from The Pool Store. I've had another service company in the past, but they only spent about 9 minutes to attend to my pool needs. I felt that they were more interested in getting out of there instead of providing good service. Arnold is the tech that services our pool from The Pool Store. He goes above and beyond. I don't usually see him, but I did the last service this week. This was after a big storm and I was cleaning up the yard. I removed one section on my pool fence (The mesh type) so I could blow leaves away from my pool. After Arnold was finished, I went back to put my child fence back together - except Arnold already did it! I didn't ask him to, but I was very happy and felt compelled to share. Purchased 2 products, a phosphate reducer for 52.00 and a algicide for 37.00. Had change of heart later in the day and tried to return the algicide. Although the on-line store hours had a closing time of 5, they closed at 4. I came back the next day and they would not return the algicide. I get that the sign says no pool chemical returns, but the bottle was still factory sealed and obviously not opened. It just seems harder and harder to support local businesses. read more

What a wonderful company. I have used them for 2 services recently after being disappointed with Leslie pools. The pool shop recently did our tile cleaning with glass peening and changed our sand out in our filter. My wife called and asked to have a quote to do some repairs on our pool pump (it had leaked over the winter from PVC joints at the pump). The quote was to have the PVC joints replaced and remove unused connections from a now defunct chlorination system. Jeremiah provided the quote quickly and was very patient with questions. He came out the next day and did the requested repairs and improved my pump performance immensely. I couldn't be happier with the service. Chris has also been a big help in the past with a pump motor replacement and questions about installation. These guys are the real deal, honest and helpful. They do not over charge (my experience) and they do provide great customer service! read more

This is a great little shop! I went in for recommendations on a pool pump after having a less than great experience at another outfit (let's just say they rhyme with "schmezlies"). These people really know how to take care of their customers. Their staff showed me an assortment of options for my broken pool pump, had reasonable prices on the best replacements, and even went the extra mile to help fix other issues with my cleaning system. Their pool tech (the guy who comes to install the equipment) was also knowledgeable and friendly, and was patient to explain what was going on with the current and future setups. I wanted to follow up - I figured I would give these guys another try so I called the Pool shop again, to find out about getting the sand in our filter re-done & the owner said "you wrote a bad review about us on yelp so we won't work with you". I was actually surprised - rather than take the opportunity to earn my trust back they chose to lose out on potential business. My husband actually figured out how to change the sand himself - saving us a bunch of money. read more

Last Friday: First the service provided was first rate! Second I didn't have a picture to get a good estimate (my fault for not taking a picture prior to going to the shop). I had a competitive estimate of $100, but didn't like the attitude of that shop and decided to go with the Pool Shop. Diane has always been honest with me. The only reason that they didn't get 5 star rating was the estimate was off by 45%. (PS - Diane did not give me the estimate.) The person at the counter told me that it would be the trip charge, the time at their hourly rate and PVC parts to change out the back flush valve which I had already purchased. It was supposed to take the technical approximately 40 minutes to do the work. Estimated w/o picture: $110. They could get a technician out today if I wanted! Hurray! When the technician got there it took 81 minutes, he did say that the paint was taking him longer to get off than expected. When I received the call on Monday the bill was $139 labor and $26 of parts, with a total of approximately $165. I said that the estimate was for $110, why was it off that much and he did state that he didn't have a picture and there were more parts and work than he had expected. I protested and Diane got on the phone. She stated that the prices at Pool Shop were fair and w/o a picture it was a guess not an estimate. I told her that I now understand, but when quoted I did not. I said that I felt $150 was a better solution and she agreed to reduce the invoice to that amount. The good news is that the pool cleaner runs faster than before w/o adjusting the valve. Better suction / water flow, leads to a cleaner pool. No leaks, like I stated up front the workmanship was first rate! Their people always try to do their best, including referring business away when it is not in their forte'. I am a fan of the pool shop and their people. Lesson learn: Always take a picture prior to getting an estimate. read more

Fantastic Shop!! I have went to them many times for routine pool analysis and miscellaneous advice. Always honest, straight forward and customer centric. After a number of years with another pool maintenance service, I decided to ask The Pool Shop to come and check-out several ongoing concerns: pump (IntelliFlow) settings, filter d/e and pressure and water leveler concerns. Spot-on diagnosis and remedy. Come to find out my water leveler was running constantly, not a great amount, but enough to double my monthly water bill. In summary... I stopped by the pool shop around closing because I needed a brush for my newly replastered pool. The man there was very knowledgeable and actually gave me more information on caring for the new plaster than the company that did it. Had a bunch of estimates from pool companies I found at the Phoenix Home Show. I wanted a new variable speed pump and led pool light installed. Most companies estimates were really high because they quoted top of the line pumps that my little play pool didn't need. The pool shop said I didn't need the top of the line pump and suggested a more cost effective model. Ben at the store was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Diane even suggested I wait until April to buy a pool vacuum because that's when a new rebate would come out. When was the last time a store suggested not to buy something because a rebate would save me money if I waited 6 weeks? The installers were great and took the time educating me on the new equipment. Bottom line: I saved money going with the Pool Shop and was impressed with their knowledge and service. Great job! read more

This is my go to place in Ahwatukee mostly because they actually know what they are talking about concerning my hot tub. They never try to over sell any item. In fact, they recommended baking soda once in order to raise my pH instead of buying their chemicals. read more

This is the home pool shop for us in the Ahwatukee Foothills. Diane and her staff are the best ever, and always willing to go the extra mile for their customers. Doesn't seem to matter what the problem is with my pools or equipment, they are knowledgeable and experienced. The Pool Shop regularly mails out a 20% coupon on any single item which comes in handy for higher priced items like pool clocks or chlorine tabs. It doesn't expire either! They will also test your pool water and recommend the chemicals you need to achieve a good pH balance. Great store! read more

We had a Color Splash pool light system installed in the pool of our second home (Ahwatukee) in September 2015. It's a great system, but the installation was flawed and hustler Diane now won't authorize the repair although the system came with a 3-year warranty. Apparently, Mike (the technician) had trouble installing the slight due to new pool resurfacing completed in June 2015. He opted to simply force the light in, and now it has fallen out. Mike never told us of the problem so were were totally unaware; had we known, we would have worked with our pool resurfacing contractor to resolve the issue. Diane admitted the installation in a voice mail to us but insists she "misspoke." As I've said, the system is great but the after-sale service sucks. I've submitted a complaint to the BBB. read more

It seems to me all the pool tech was doing was adding chlorine tabs no backwashing or netting. I made several attempts to correct service but no changes made. I talked to the service manager and even the owner. I have gave up and went with a different provider. read more
