Great management and great crew…read more Had a pool pump stop working, and my normal pool guy immediately blamed a failed motor in the pump, despite it only being 2 years old and gave me a large quote to replace. I called Pelican for a second opinion and rather than just push new hardware, they did their due diligence to pinpoint the problem.They figured out that not enough power was being supplied to the pool panel and it ended being a bad breaker that was supplying too little voltage for the pump to operate. One new breaker later and I am back up and running. Thanks Pelican for being good people and not just pushing products.

I don't use words like spectacular, incredible, amazing, and awesome lightly. The process of building a pool is groundbreaking, in the literal sense. The timeline for this process took roughly 3 months from the dig to jumping into the water for a swim. Allow me to remind you that the process is never going to be perfect for such a large project. There are many stages to this massive commitment, such as designing, mapping, digging, plumbing, electrical lines, concrete, travertine, city permits, dealing with HOAs (and the list goes on). None of this is going to go without delays, corrections, ordering additional parts, weather issues, etc. That said, the experience with Dolphin Pools was nearly flawless every step of the way. My wife and I did our research, and based on Google/Yelp reviews, we decided to contact Dolphin Pools. From what I understand, there are a number of designers, but we had the great fortune of having Drew Siler assist us with designing our dream pool. From the moment we met Drew, we were instantly impressed and quickly moved forward with the project. Not only is Drew kind, honest, and thoughtful, but very professional. We had a plan, and Drew walked us through every detail with 3D pool design renderings. He listened to our wants, but always kept us grounded with what was possible within our property and budget. It wouldn't go down and didn't do the job a pop-up does. The process goes very quickly. The pool is beautiful, turned out great, except the pool aerator was put up to close to the edge of the pool so it is crooked and askew and looks bad, very noticeable. Of course, they didn't have the attachment in when they had me sign off that everything was great. Still waiting to see what can be done to make it look better. Hopefully something! We did sign off on this ahead of time just want you to be prepared if you have anything in your current yard. So, you will have your funds. One warning when they have you sign off on them destroying your current yard meaning anything on the way to where you want your pool such as lighting, irrigation whatever is there believe them. They will destroy even where you don't think they will. Have your money ready for those to be repaired or redone.

Had a great experience with Build Your Own Pool out of Mesa Az. They helped me with all the subs…read moreand helped create my design for the permits and for the subs to use. I did have some doubts about going through build your own pool versus a local pool builder, however after some of my ridiculous quotes from local pool builders (like 30-40k higher than we built it for) and talking to several homeowners that also used build your own pool I decided to go for it. Now I have subbed out for homes we have remodeled and a few flips so I might have been more comfortable through the process than others might, but I think if you need more help they'd be there for you. I worked a lot with Ryan for the plans at the beginning and then with John Green who we also ordered the equipment through. John was extremely helpful and did not get annoyed with my calls or emails on my many questions. From breaking ground to completion it took about 5 months. The pool builders which we talked to were about 10-12 months out and basically said we wouldn't have the pool until December or January when we were getting bids. We finished just in time for the summer and have already used it a lot. I highly recommend BYOP and am extremely satisfied with my pool!

Please remember that you are the GC. Ive seen reviews like the one before where they pool light was too short. This is stuff you are responsible for noticing, as a GC you should know how long your light run is and how long of a light cord you need. I worked with John and he was great, we even had issues with a drain and he had a rep come out immediately and resolve the issue. I worked with Roy during the design stage and I made several changes over and over to the design and it never took Roy more than 24 hours to make changes or respond to questions. Remember this is your project and you are responsible for running the show, reviewing drawings, equipment lists, etc.
