Driving to the Ranch Market to get my fruit and veggies, I took a detour due to construction and I noticed a sign for A & M Pool Supply. I quickly made a right-hand turn and drove into the parking lot. It has been years since A&M Pool supplies moved from my local neighborhood and I was thrilled, to say the least, that I had found them. They were my go-to pool supply company as they had the best prices and were always able to help me. They never tried to upsell me and were honest about things that did or did not need to be done. First of all, it is family-owned which I always try to look for when I patronize a store. I was greeted with the warm welcome I had remembered previously. The price of chlorine has gone up significantly since pre-pandemic - like everything else. They were $30 under big box stores and almost $50 less than the BIG "L pool" store. So, you may be asking what do they offer besides pool supplies? They can do on-site repairs of pumps, motors, spa equipment, and automatic pool cleaners. Absolutely reccommend! I tried 5 leslies to get help with my backlash pump small O ring. I was being encouraged to buy a whole new pump at $135, four people couldn't do it, and a pool guy that would charge me a $120 to come back and do it for me.. Our new home has a pool, which is very exciting, but also comes with stigma of more costs. Of course, it is always conveniently at the worst time. Our pump stopped work on Fourth of July and was a bit out of our realm of knowledge. After talking to the previous poolc ompany who handled the pool, he walked me through some troubleshootings and per his recommendation opted to take our motor over to A & M Pump & Pool supply. The moment I pulled up and started to bring the motor in, two men came out to open the door and take the motor from me. One of the gentlemen, Jay seemed to be the mechanic or on-site tech and asked what was going on, a few follow up questions and started working on the motor. He said I was welcome to wait, it would most likely take about 15 minutes to determine the issues or come back. I decided to stick around, and true to his word they knew and repaired the motor in under 15 minutes. He asked if I wanted new seals, said it wasn't totally necessary, but I opted for them, as we do live in the dry dry desert. Another 5 minutes or so and he had the whole motor ready, with a new capacitor and o-rings. The total came to under 100 bucks and our pool was back in business. He proceeded to walk the motor back to my car, which though the motor is not super heavy, was greatly appreciated and helped me avoid getting grease all over myself. They seemed to be fully stoked with rebuilt and new motors, miscellaneous parts, pool chemicals, toys and everything in between. A great one stop shop! Overall, all the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. It was such a positive experience and though I do not hope for any pool issues, I will definitely be returning and recommend them for their services. read more

This company has always been over priced but it is very close to my house so I went there for the last two years. Today they quoted $30 to $50 more for pool service than the competition which I expected. What I didn't expect was that I bought a $110 bucket of coring this morning only to find out that the other services include chemicals for 7$5 to a $100 a month total cost. I'm quite certain that they knew that when they sold me the bucket knowing that I was going to get other quotes If they were helpful they would have told me that. Secondly they didn't take the bucket back. I've used many other chemical stores in the past and I will never go back to this one. I have spent $1000's here. They lost much more than the $110. Rather than scanning the bar code to learn the purchase date and warranty, I had to present proof of purchase and warranty because "Hayward was ver strong about requiring that information". When I scheduled the appointment originally, it was for a filter cleaning, and fixing a leak. The Tech was late and flat out told me he didn't know how to use my pump. He also then told me that he wasn't going to have time to fix the leak and would have to come back next week because he had a meeting. He didn't test the equipment after washing filters, which caused my pump to not run for 2 nights. He didn't even clean up the mess he made when he was done. I called to report this to a manager Friday who claimed because the tech was already paid based on a trip charge that nobody else could come in replace of him. I said really, your convenience is more important than customer satisfaction, that's really pathetic. By the end of the call he was going to "talk to another manager and see about getting me a different tech." Well, not only did he not call back, he didn't even mention it to the other manger and was of coarse "too busy" to take the call when I called in today. We seriously love this place! Dave and all of the other employees are AMAZING. Their customer service is really great. They are fast, very helpful and knowledgeable, and they even will help you to your car with your purchases. It really feels like the service you hear about back from the 50's. Stay away, quoted my husband $1350 for pool pump motor replacement and said this was due to a state law requiring variable motors, so everything had to be replaced. Competitor quoted $498, stating that there was no such requirement for our pool. read more

for the mesa location by the 202. I would give the help in the store 5 stars as they are very helpful and good at teaching you about the pool. But the at your home service is absolutely horrible. We started using them for chemical balancing and pump maintenance. We knew we had to drain the pool and have the sand changed as it wasn't clear when it was a long time since it was last done and we where looking at a green pool. They came out, drained the pool and serviced the sand change on schedule. Then they told us someone would be out in three days to balance the chemicals once the pool was filled. Three days and no one came out to the pool. One week and we started to question what was going on. We called and they said they didn't have our service order in place. we replaced it and was told it would be seen within two days. Two days and still nothing. Went into the shop to get a new pool brush and asked about when the service was going to come in and do the start up chemicals. They said they where " short handed" and it would take time but we could do the chemicals ourselves if we bought the kit. Now we agreed to have full pool service on the pool and we don't know anything other then a pool has water in it and you swim. We asked how long it would be since we where not comfortable doing the chemicals ourselves. They said a week and to put a bag of shock in it to stop it from going green fast. Well here I am three week AFTER THAT with still no pool chemicals and another pool threatening to go green again. I have been putting shock in it every three days but would really like to swim in my pool before fourth of July. I am currently looking into other pool chemical and maintenance services to deal with it because this is more then a " understaffed" issue. read more
